Limiting and narrowing life down to manage anxiety and gut symptoms is a negative reinforcement that doesn't help you long term. 

If you let the anxiety determine your actions, you not only reinforce the anxiety, but also a lack of trust in self, a lack of capacity to cope and a lack of ability to self regulate.

There's no growth in that.

The only resolution is to expand life back out again.
