Inside the MARI Test: Mandala Maps For Midlife Clarity
25 Feb 2026
01:03:57
What if your next chapter is already speaking to you through simple shapes and colors? We sit down with Michele Takei (Shelley), a transpersonal psychologist and owner-trainer of the Mandala Assessment Research Instrument (MARI), to unpack how a Jungian, intuition-led tool can reveal where you are now and where your energy wants to move next—without collapsing your story into a diagnosis. Instead of long questionnaires and labels, the MARI pairs six “liked” symbols, one “dislike,” and two private “guidance” choices with a rich palette of colors, then places them on the Great Round: a 13-stage developmental map that tracks beginnings, identity, struggle, completion, and transformation.
Shelley walks us through the quiet power of the initial mandala drawing, why boundaries show up in heavy outlines, and how a sparkly gold overlay can signal a transpersonal sense of being in the world but not of it. We talk about the speed to clarity this method offers—how an hour of intuitive choices can surface themes it might take weeks to uncover in talk therapy—and why that matters for midlife listeners facing divorce, empty nests, career pivots, or the restless pull toward something more. You’ll hear how MARI complements therapy and coaching, exposes spiritual bypass when our colors don’t match our claims, and consistently delivers direction over diagnosis.
We also connect the map to Joseph Campbell’s arc—home, call, ordeal, return—naming that vulnerable moment when you stop fitting your old circle but haven’t yet landed in the new one. If you’ve felt invisible while life changes shape, this conversation offers a kinder lens and concrete footing. Come for the Jungian roots; stay for the practical, soul-honoring guidance that helps you trust your intuition, choose your next true step, and see your whole picture at once.
If this resonated, follow the show, share it with a friend, and leave a quick review—we love hearing what clicked for you and what you want us to explore next.
Michele Takei, PhD, holds a doctorate in transpersonal psychology and women’s studies from Union Institute. She has been professor at numerous universities where she has taught courses in both traditional and transpersonal psychology. Takei has worked with thousands of women as the director of a single parent and homemaker program, as well as in her private psychological practice. She is the owner and trainer of MARI (Mandala Assessment Research Instrument), a Jungian-based psychological assessment based on symbols and colors.
Ready to trade barns and blinders for open fields? We dive into the rare Fire Horse year and show how to turn its heat into momentum—without burning your life down. Think fierce independence, bold creativity, and steady, controlled action that makes space for the truest version of you.
We start with a vivid image of the wild horse and layer on the fire element to frame 2026 as a season of initiation: release what keeps you small, claim your pace, and build a foundation that actually holds. From there, we map this energy into practical steps—clear intentions, a simple release ritual, and micro-habits that compound.
Eclipses bring a second current: light meeting shadow, truth surfacing, clarity sharpening. We unpack the “ring of fire,” the power of 3 and 333, and why March 3 at 3:33 is a potent checkpoint for visualization and gratitude-driven manifestation. Expect grounded advice on speaking your truth, choosing wild-horse friends over convenience circles, and directing your flame toward your own path. The result is a playbook for midlife reinvention that blends spirituality with strategy, numerology with nerve, and community with courage.
Subscribe, share with a friend who needs a nudge, and leave a quick review to help more midlifers find their fire. What will you release—and what will you run toward—this year?
Ready for a reboot that starts with rest instead of hustle? Jen kicks off season two by sharing her truth; sometimes the most powerful move is to hibernate, listen to your intuition, and let alignment find you. Jen's pause started after a pilgrimage to Egypt—into the Great Pyramid at 2 a.m., to sunrise by the Sphinx, and onto a wooden boat on the Nile under a blood moon—yet the heartbeat of the journey was the sisterhood of sixteen women who turned a bus into a moving sanctuary.
I share how a young singer’s voice filled the King’s Chamber like a tuning fork, why the Sphinx’s energy surprised me from an unexpected excavation site, and what fertility temples taught us about devotion, patience, and quiet ritual. We talk Sekhmet and Hathor, subtle downloads, and the gritty side of travel too: navigating toxic masculinity, spotting spiritual bypassing, and choosing boundaries without closing your heart. Along the way, we swap glossy “transformation” for something real: presence, play, and the courage to admit you’re still integrating.
Most of all, I make a case for accessible growth. You don’t need a passport to evolve; you need curiosity, community, and a willingness to follow the pull—into a new breathwork class, a local retreat, or a circle where strangers become mirrors. Season two is stacked with guests, collabs, and deeper dives into these themes, but it starts here, with a reminder to honor winter, trust your inner compass, and let sisterhood amplify your path. If this resonates, hit follow, share it with a friend who’s craving a reset, and leave a review so more midlife seekers can find us. What sacred place—or practice—is calling you next?
What if the scariest moments of your life were actually your training ground for love? We welcome author and guide Regan Caruthers to share the raw arc behind her memoir, Tragic Magic: a childhood steeped in meditation and mysticism, a nine-year-old’s choice to shut down her gifts, and a 27-year awakening that turned terror into courage and survival into service. One phone call of unconditional love to a violent stepfather catalyzes a decades-long transformation—and offers a living case study in how forgiveness cuts ties without excusing harm.
Regan lays out a clear, repeatable process for healing the mother wound: map your developmental stages, get radically honest, and re-parent each age with the felt frequency of love. Discipline matters here—daily meditation, heart-focused breathing, and gratitude as sensation (not lists) reorganize the nervous system and lift your resonance. Expect science-backed coherence, practical tools, and no fluff.
Faith gets a compassionate reframing. Regan doesn’t identify as Christian, yet her devotion to Jesus (Yeshua) is deep and studied. We separate Jesus’ teachings from later doctrines, explore Aramaic translations and Gnostic gospels, and anchor on a simple truth: “The kingdom of God is within you.” That through-line meets a modern miracle—an urgent inner directive leads Regan home, where top surgeons discover a congenital heart defect “incompatible with life.” Surgery succeeds; recovery humbles; and on Palm Sunday, her sternum scar shifts into a cross. Even her lead surgeon has no medical explanation.
If you’re navigating midlife deconstruction, mother wounds, or the heavy static of our media age, this conversation offers a grounded path: less noise, more practice; less judgment, more coherence; less dogma, more direct love. Grab Tragic Magic, subscribe to Reagan’s Substack, and try the heart-breath practice we share.
Let's Connect!
More than just a memoir, Tragic Magic is an intimate and raw account of Regan’s remarkable transformation from a corporate executive in Silicon Valley to a spiritual guide and healer.
Her journey, marked by immense childhood trauma and miraculous moments of divine intervention, ultimately led her to reclaim her life through spiritual discipline, faith, and inner strength.
Through her candid storytelling, Regan shares the life lessons that helped her embrace her divine gifts and reconnect with her true self. Tragic Magic is an inspiring testament to the resilience of the human spirit, offering readers insight into how to transform personal pain into purpose.
E62 -Authentic Spirituality: Finding God Beyond the Church Walls with Aaron Tomlinson
10 Sep 2025
01:22:55
What happens when a devoted pastor of 20 years suddenly questions everything he's preached? Aaron Tomlinson's journey from Christianity to authentic spirituality offers a roadmap for anyone navigating the confusing terrain of religious deconstruction.
In our conversation, he courageously unpacks how the doctrine of original sin creates harmful distrust of our bodies and intuition, while explaining how biblical texts about sexuality have been weaponized far beyond their original context.
With compassion and clarity, Aaron reveals why the common understanding of Jesus's purpose may have missed the point entirely. "Christ in you, the hope of glory" suggests we're inherently divine, not fallen beings needing salvation from eternal torment based on historical beliefs. This perspective offers liberation from fear-based religion while honoring authentic spiritual connection.
Drawing from his expertise as a licensed professional counselor, Aaron explains why midlife spiritual questioning isn't a crisis but a neurologically-supported developmental phase. Those who embrace rather than resist this transformation consistently report more fulfilling lives. His insights bridge psychological understanding with spiritual wisdom, offering hope to those who feel caught between worlds.
Whether you're deconstructing your faith, exploring new spiritual paths, or simply curious about different perspectives, this conversation offers profound insights on trusting your authentic self. As Aaron reminds us, "At your core you're divine," and recognizing this truth might be the most liberating spiritual journey of all.
Ready to trust your own spiritual intuition? Listen now and discover why your midlife spiritual awakening might be exactly what your soul ordered.
Aaron Tomlinson is a licensed professional counselor and former pastor who deeply understands the challenges of leaving organized religion and stepping into authentic spirituality. After surviving a life-threatening heart crisis—where both medical care and profound spiritual guidance played a vital role—Aaron now shares his journey of integrated healing: mind, body, and spirit. His story offers hope and practical wisdom for those navigating the often confusing and painful path beyond religious dogma toward a healing, empowering spirituality. Aaron gently bridges the gap between evidence-based psychology and real spiritual experience, helping listeners move from fear and anger into faith, peace, and renewed purpose. If listeners are wondering, “What’s next after religion?” Aaron’s compassionate guidance shows the way forward to wholeness without judgment or pressure.
E61 -Awakening from the Trance of Unworthiness with Monica Rodgers
03 Sep 2025
01:17:03
Monica Rodgers joins the Halfway to Dead podcast to shatter the "trance of unworthiness" that keeps women from embracing their full power. A catalyst for awakening women, Monica shares how her own dark night of the soul at age 39 transformed her life, pushing her to question everything she'd been conditioned to believe about success, spirituality, and her own worth.
The conversation explores how patriarchal conditioning creates what Monica calls "death by a thousand tiny paper cuts" – subtle messages that teach women they're either too much or not enough. This conditioning leads many women to disconnect from their bodies, suppress their emotions (especially rage), and dim their light to fit in. Monica and host Jen Lovell dive into practical ways women can reclaim their authentic selves, from processing suppressed emotions through "swamping" to celebrating rather than criticizing themselves and other women.
At the heart of this powerful discussion is Monica's "Revelation to Revolution" framework – seven transformative steps that guide women from radical honesty about their current reality to fully activating their truth in the world. The steps include reckoning with one's part in patterns, reflecting on dying identities, recovering through new storytelling, reauthoring with boundaries, and reclaiming one's inner heroine. Monica emphasizes that while most women will move through all these steps, there's no prescribed timeline – each woman's journey unfolds in its own way.
The episode takes a fascinating turn when Monica shares how creativity and art became vital tools in her healing journey. After being told as a young woman that art school wasn't a legitimate path, she returned to art in her 50s, discovering how creative expression bypasses the analytical mind to access deeper wisdom. This connection between creativity, spirituality, and authentic self-expression reveals how women can access their innate power through multiple channels.
Ready to disrupt your own trance of unworthiness? This episode offers both the validation and practical guidance needed to reclaim your right to shine without dimming anyone else's light. Download Monica's Women's Bill of Rights from her website as your first step toward living life on your own terms.
E60 -Beyond Emotional Eating: A Midlife Woman's Guide to Sustainable Weight Loss with Terry Tateossian
27 Aug 2025
01:11:32
Terry Tateossian's journey from struggling with emotional eating to shedding 80 pounds in her forties isn't just inspiring—it's a blueprint for anyone feeling defeated by midlife health challenges. The former immigrant who once found herself 80 pounds overweight and still wearing pregnancy clothes at age 37 now helps women reclaim their vitality through evidence-based approaches to nutrition and fitness.
The conversation takes a surprising turn when Terry challenges our most common excuse: "It's my hormones." While acknowledging that hormonal changes play a role (about 20%), she emphasizes that the bigger culprit is our accumulated decades of habits. This perspective shift feels both confronting and liberating—we have more control than we've been led to believe.
Perhaps most eye-opening is Terry's passionate clarification about resistance training. Those daily walks, yoga sessions, and swimming laps? Wonderful for health, but not resistance training. The distinction matters because only true resistance training builds the muscle mass critical for metabolism, bone density, and preventing falls (the number one cause of hospitalization for older adults). Studies show quad strength is more predictive of longevity than many other health markers—a compelling reason to start incorporating chair squats, wall push-ups, and other accessible strength moves into our routines.
The emotional eating discussion resonates deeply as Terry describes her former nightly pint of Häagen-Dazs and the neural pathways that make sugar "more addictive than cocaine." Her practical approach to breaking these cycles—observing without judgment, preparing protein-rich alternatives, and addressing the emotional needs behind cravings—offers a compassionate framework for those struggling with similar patterns.
At 42, Terry embarked on a profoundly life-altering journey, successfully shedding over 80lbs in her mid-forties, overcoming emotional eating and discovering an untapped source of incredible physical and emotional strength. However, her journey was much more than a physical one. It was an experience thatchallenged and transformed her at every level, reinforcing her belief in the potential for renewal, growth and change, regardless of life's stage or the roles one is juggling. Terry's journey is particularly relevant for women in the peri-menopausal and post-menopausal phases, a time when the body undergoes significant changes that can often feel insurmountable. Her success story is a testament to the fact that with the right mindset, tools, and support, it is possible to reclaim one's health and vitality during and after these transitional years.
Currently, Terry has completely transitioned into the health & wellness industry. Her passion for fitness and newfound love of helping mid-life women regain their health and vitality has compelled her to start a new career path in health coaching as the founder of THOR. THOR is an exclusively curated experiential brand focusing on fitness, wellness and whole body health. We blend in-person retreats, a wellness community for women over 40, ongoing 1:1 fitness and nutrition coaching & support and world-class wellness & longevity products to empower women to take back their health.
E59 -A Spiritual Awakening in Lily Dale, Solo Episode with Jen
20 Aug 2025
00:53:12
Have you ever yearned for a place where spiritual connection isn't just accepted—it's the very foundation of the community? Tucked away on the shores of Cassadaga Lake in Western New York sits Lily Dale, America's oldest continuously operating spiritualist community and quite possibly the most energy-rich small town you'll ever experience.
In this deeply personal episode, I take you with me through my recent three-day journey to this remarkable spiritual haven. The moment you pass through Lily Dale's gates, something shifts—the veil between worlds feels paper-thin, and synchronicities abound. I'll guide you through the charming neighborhood of colorful Victorian cottages where mediums conduct readings on welcoming porches, and share my unexpected first experience channeling for a complete stranger during a spirit art workshop (spoiler: it was surprisingly accurate!).
You'll discover the sacred spaces that make Lily Dale special—from Inspiration Stump where twice-daily message services connect visitors with loved ones who've passed, to the Healing Temple where energy practitioners facilitate profound healing experiences. Some of my most transformative moments happened spontaneously, like the impromptu ceremony on a coffee shop porch where passing a crown of fallen leaves led our group to tears as we shared our deepest truths.
Whether you're a seasoned spiritual seeker or simply curious about expanding your awareness, Lily Dale offers accessible entry points to spiritual exploration. The entire experience is remarkably affordable—just $15 daily admission includes access to numerous services and sacred spaces. I share practical tips for planning your visit, from accommodation options (including the famously haunted Maplewood Hotel) to what to expect during readings and group experiences.
As we navigate midlife, finding communities that nurture our spiritual growth becomes increasingly precious. My time in Lily Dale reminded me that sometimes the most profound healing happens when we least expect it. Have you visited a place that shifted your spiritual perspective? I'd love to hear about your experiences—or perhaps you'll join me on a future Halfway to Dead meetup in this magical spiritual community.
E58 -How to Have A Happy Birthday with Tamar Hurwitz-Fleming
13 Aug 2025
01:18:57
When was the last time you truly celebrated your birthday? Not just with cake and presents, but with a deep recognition of its spiritual significance? In this enlightening conversation, I sit down with Tamar Hurwitz-Fleming, birthday coach and author of "How to Have a Happy Birthday," who reveals why our birthdays are far more than just annual milestones—they're powerful spiritual portals.
Tamar explains that our birthday represents the sacred marriage between our soul and physical body—the day we chose to incarnate into this human experience. Astrologically, it's the one day each year when the sun aligns perfectly with where it was when we were born, creating a unique energetic opportunity for transformation and manifestation. Yet many of us, especially in midlife, have complicated relationships with our birthdays. We may dread the reminder of aging or sabotage our joy through what Tamar calls the "upper limits problem"—our discomfort with experiencing too much positive energy.
Throughout our conversation, Tamar offers practical wisdom for reclaiming your birthday as a sacred personal holiday. From creating a birthday altar and celebrating "Birthday Eve" to starting your day with spiritual rituals and making intentional birthday wishes, she outlines a framework for meaningful celebration that honors your journey. We also explore how to overcome common birthday pitfalls, including society's negative messages about aging and the mistake of outsourcing our birthday joy to others.
This episode isn't just about having better birthdays—it's about recognizing that your birth was a profound spiritual choice, and each year you get to celebrate that choice. As Tamar beautifully puts it, "It's a privilege to age," especially when we consider those who didn't get the opportunity. Whether your birthday is tomorrow or months away, this conversation will transform how you approach this special day and perhaps even how you view your entire life journey.
Tamar Hurwitz-Fleming is a birthday aficionado who is dedicated to helping people harness the transformational power of their birthdays so they can experience more joy, meaning, and fulfillment in their lives. Growing up, Tamar had a string of happy, sad, and terrible birthdays until she realized that having a fulfilling birthday was entirely up to her. In her new book, “How to Have a Happy Birthday,” Tamar explores why birthdays matter, why they can be hard for many of us, and what we can do to fully put ourselves in the center of our day.
E57 -Spiritual Pilgrimages: Finding Truth Across Faiths with Barbara Burgess
06 Aug 2025
01:25:48
Barbara is back!!!
Have you ever felt that your spiritual journey doesn't fit neatly into the boxes others have created? You're not alone. In this deeply moving conversation, Barbara Burgess takes us on a breathtaking tour through decades of spiritual exploration, from her rigid Catholic upbringing to her transformative experiences at sacred sites across the globe.
Barbara's story begins with childhood questions about divine appearances and evolves through college encounters that shattered her religious framework. But it's her experiences on spiritual pilgrimages—standing in a mosque in Morocco, connecting with Sikh teachings in India, and discovering Celtic Christianity's earth-centered wisdom—that reveal how different faiths contain universal truths when approached with genuine curiosity rather than judgment.
What makes this episode extraordinary is Barbara's practical wisdom about incorporating diverse spiritual elements into everyday life. She explains how she communicates with angels through journaling, surrounds herself with meaningful symbols from various traditions, and uses gratitude practices to shift her energetic frequency. Her understanding of multiple realities draws from quantum physics while remaining refreshingly accessible: "I think of it as like a video game adventure—I signed up for this one and tuned my radio to this frequency."
The conversation takes fascinating turns into unexpected territories—the spiritual significance of octopuses (with their autonomous yet connected tentacles), the communication abilities of elephants, and the special connection neurodivergent individuals may have to spiritual realms. Throughout, Barbara emphasizes that authenticity creates our highest vibrational state, explaining why being genuinely ourselves matters more than adhering to rigid spiritual frameworks.
Whether you're questioning your religious upbringing, curious about different spiritual traditions, or simply feeling called to something beyond material existence, this episode offers permission to explore the mystery with an open heart. As Barbara suggests, "We don't have to conform to any belief system—we get to share, explore, and discover." Your spiritual journey is uniquely yours. Where might it take you?
Barbara Burgess is an author, mother, executive, and unapologetic dark-chocolate lover who’s embraced the beautiful messiness of life. She founded Corluma (cor = heart, luma = light), a Chicago-based consulting firm, wrote and performed a one-woman show “The Extraordinary Experience of Being Ordinary” and most recently wrote her first book, Enough: Finding Peace in a World of Distractions, Hustle, and Expectations.
Known for her humor, vulnerability, and practical wisdom, Barbara shares simple shifts to help people remember they are enough and have enough. Her ego is kept in healthy check by two teenage children and career adventures that included selling candy bars for Nestle Foods, launching Grainger into internet commerce, a brief marketing stint at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and most recently overseeing operations, marketing, and finances as the COO of a non-profit. Like all of us, Barbara says, she’s still figuring it out.
E56 -What If Your Brain's Map Is Outdated? Neuro-Semantic NLP with Daryl Carlson
23 Jul 2025
01:26:16
What happens when a devoted Christian missionary who graduated from Moody Bible Institute discovers tools that transform his understanding of mind, belief, and spirituality? In this captivating conversation, Daryl Carlson shares his remarkable journey from religious devotion to spiritual liberation through neuro-semantic NLP.
Daryl's story begins with a childhood commitment to Christianity that led him to missionary work spanning 15 years. Despite his dedication and service, he found himself struggling with the same emotional patterns and limitations. His quest for healing introduced him to neuro-linguistic programming, which offered practical tools for transformation that would ultimately challenge his religious framework.
At the heart of this episode is the fascinating concept that "the map is not the territory" - we all navigate life through mental maps formed in childhood, yet mistakenly believe we're experiencing reality directly. Daryl explains how our brains filter information through deletion, distortion, and generalization to maintain these maps, and why this process creates our automatic reactions and behaviors. The liberating truth? We aren't broken when we struggle - we're simply running outdated mental programs that can be updated.
The conversation delves into practical techniques for changing beliefs, healing trauma, and finding authentic spiritual connection beyond religious constraints. Daryl's vulnerable account of "coming out" to his family about his spiritual shift highlights the challenges and rewards of living authentically. His perspective on Jesus evolves from worship to respect, viewing him as a mystic master whose teachings transcend religious boundaries.
Whether you're questioning your spiritual path, healing from religious trauma, or simply fascinated by how our minds create meaning, this episode offers compassionate insights and practical tools for transformation. As Daryl reminds us: your brain works perfectly - it's just following the map it was given. What outdated maps might you be ready to redraw?
Daryl Carlson graduated from Moody Bible Institute, was a missionary for over 15 years, and then rejected Christianity for something better. He is a master practitioner of Neuro-Semantic NLP, a certified Meta-Coach, and currently works for a secular non-profit organization. He is on this journey of life with his patient wife, Laura; three wonderful kids, and one rambunctious mini-goldendoodle. "I'm an old white guy who knows that life is best lived by empowering others!"

New year, new cycle, real momentum. We bring back fan favorite psychic medium and Akashic Records reader Joe Figueras to chart the energetic weather of 2026 and translate it into moves you can actually make. This is a Universal Year One—fresh ground for intentions that will echo across the next nine years—and Joe shows how to calculate your personal year and personal months so you know when to start, when to build, and when to pivot.
From the sky down, we keep it clear and usable. Neptune and Saturn in Aries pull vision and structure into alignment—less waiting for a sign, more acting from inner authority. Uranus enters Gemini and cracks open our thinking around communication and technology, including a fresh look at AI as a tool for clarity rather than a threat. Midyear, Jupiter in Leo turns up the lights on confidence and creativity, making summer a prime window for launches, visibility, and leadership. We connect these transits to practical themes: clarify what matters, ground big dreams in real plans, learn and adapt quickly, and build foundations that last.
We also reframe the spiritual buzzwords. 5D isn’t a club; it’s a state you already touch in sleep and meditation. The collective “awakening” that accelerated in 2023 now matures into intuitive self-leadership: fewer external heroes, more inner compass. Joe’s modern Akashic approach treats the Records as your etheric cloud, turning soul insights into next steps. Along the way we wonder out loud about open contact, and talk AI.
If you’re feeling the Fire Horse energy and ready to move from intention to execution, this conversation gives you the map and the mindset to do it with heart. Listen, subscribe, and leave a review to help others find the show—then tell us: what will you build this year?
Jo Figueras is a Psychic Medium, Akashic Records Reader, Advanced Intuitive Development Mentor, and Silversmith with over a decade of experience guiding individuals through deep soul-level inquiry and integration. Her work supports those at pivotal phases of transformation who seek elevation, orientation, and a deeper understanding of their spiritual identity.
At the core of her practice is an original framework she developed called Spiritual Tetralogy, a fourfold interpretive method that weaves Numerology, Astrology, Human Design, and the Akashic Records into a cohesive, precise transmission. Through this approach, Jo offers insight into a person’s soul origins, karmic patterns, and lived experiences, illuminating how these forces shape current opportunities, challenges, relationships, and achievements.

Her cosmic insights have been featured on Bustle, and Yahoo! News
Have you ever wondered why midlife brings such dramatic shifts and transformations? The answer might be written in the stars.
Modern astrologer Tara Redfield takes us far beyond basic sun signs to reveal how our natal charts—cosmic snapshots captured at our precise birth moments—contain profound insights about our life's journey. This celestial blueprint wasn't randomly assigned but deliberately chosen by your soul to guide your path through this lifetime.
Tara skillfully decodes the three fundamental components of natal charts—planets, signs, and houses—showing how these energetic patterns influence everything from your personality and relationships to career transitions and spiritual awakenings. Most fascinating is her explanation of predictable midlife transits that everyone experiences: Neptune square Neptune (bringing identity confusion), Pluto square Pluto (forcing transformative crises), and the Uranus opposition (the classic "midlife crisis" urge for reinvention) all hit between ages 39-46, followed by the healing Chiron return around age 50.
Whether you're navigating midlife changes, seeking deeper self-understanding, or just curious about cosmic influences, this episode offers validation and clarity. You'll discover why you've probably been reading the wrong horoscope your entire life (hint: they're written for your rising sign, not your sun sign), how empty houses in your chart aren't problematic but simply indicate areas that aren't major focal points, and why understanding these patterns helps you navigate life with greater awareness.
Ready to decode your cosmic DNA? Grab your birth time and join us for this enlightening journey into astrological self-discovery that explains not just who you are, but why midlife feels the way it does.

E53 -Unlocking the Healing Potential of Psychedelic Journeys with Angela DeCraene
11 Jun 2025
01:14:09
Our midlife spiritual journey often calls us to explore beyond conventional healing methods. When therapy plateaus and we're still carrying emotional weight, what other paths might open doorways to deeper healing?
Angela DeCraene joins us to illuminate the therapeutic potential of psilocybin journeys. As a psychotherapist completing her doctorate in integral and transpersonal psychology, Angela bridges ancient wisdom with modern science in her approach to healing. Having walked her own path from evangelical Christianity to spiritual exploration, she brings both personal experience and professional insight to our conversation about psychedelic therapy.
We dive deep into what actually happens in your brain during a psilocybin journey. The default mode network—responsible for your habitual thought patterns—temporarily goes offline, allowing parts of your brain that don't typically communicate to connect. This creates opportunities for profound insights and healing that might otherwise remain inaccessible. Angela explains why each hour in a psychedelic journey equals roughly one week of heightened neuroplasticity afterward, underscoring the critical importance of proper integration work.
What distinguishes therapeutic psychedelic use from recreational use? Angela and her partner Tammy have developed a holistic preparation and integration model that emphasizes self-leadership, personal autonomy, and careful attention to set and setting. Rather than prescribing a one-size-fits-all approach, they create a container for individuals to safely explore their own consciousness with skilled support before, during, and after journeys.

E52 -Deep Healing via Psychedelic Therapy & Soul Readings with Tammi Janel
04 Jun 2025
01:10:01
Tammi Janel takes us on a profound exploration of soul healing through plant medicine and intuitive guidance in this revealing conversation about midlife transformation. When faced with a serious medical diagnosis, Tammi didn't just seek physical treatment—she wanted to understand the energetic roots behind her tumor. This quest led her to psychedelic-assisted therapy, specifically psilocybin, which helped her access suppressed childhood trauma she'd carried for decades. Unlike recreational use, therapeutic journeys with plant medicine involve careful preparation, intention-setting, and integration afterward. Tammi walks us through what these sessions entail. What makes Tammi's approach unique is how she weaves together multiple healing modalities. Her soul readings access what she calls "the language of soul"—imagery, feelings, and intuitive guidance that connects us with our higher selves and ancestral wisdom. During the podcast, she shares insights from the reading she just completed with host Jen, revealing how we can distinguish between ancestral lineage (patterns passed through blood) and soul lineage (our higher purpose). The conversation takes a fascinating turn when Tammi introduces her Devoted Soul Method—a seven-step process for soul-led living that includes witnessing, honoring, releasing, surrendering, co-creating, and celebrating. She explains why many of us hit walls in our healing journey despite years of therapy, energy work, and spiritual practices. Sometimes the mind understands what needs healing, but the body still holds onto trauma, requiring different approaches to create embodied transformation. As we reach midlife, Tammy reminds us that this is our chance to live authentically without regret. "Your soul is rooting for you," she says, encouraging listeners to consider what it would mean to look back at the end of life knowing we lived fully aligned with our deepest truth. Ready to transform your spiritual journey? Listen now and discover how these alternative healing paths might illuminate your way forward.

With 37 years of experience in Corporate America, Beth understands firsthand the stresses of professional life and is passionate about helping others find balance through yoga.
She loves working with those new to yoga practice, offering variations to every pose so each practitioner can find the version that fits their unique body structure and absorb the intended benefits. Beth weaves together the foundations of both the physical and spiritual practice, providing practical insights for integrating yoga both on and off the mat. She has a particular passion for using yoga to reduce stress, anxiety, and tension, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere in her classes.
Personally, yoga has transformed Beth physically, spiritually, and emotionally. The tools she’s learned through yoga guided her recovery from physical injury and a rare tumor. Breathwork and gentle movement helped her cope with the grief and loss that often accompany serious health conditions, leading her through the exploration of her “new” physical body as she relearned balance and strength.
Beth also holds additional credentials in Chair Yoga, Reiki Levels 1 and 2, Yoga for the Workplace, Yoga Inclusivity, and Yoga Activism. Outside the studio, she’s a proud mom, grandma, and wife — roles that deepen her compassion and understanding of life’s many stages.
What happens when the religious framework you've known your entire life no longer feels true? Beth Rockert, raised as a pastor's kid in a strict evangelical Christian household, courageously shares her spiritual coming-out story and the winding path that led her to a more authentic relationship with the divine.
Beth's journey began unexpectedly through physical healing. After suffering running injuries in her 40s, she reluctantly tried yoga, discovering not just physical relief but a doorway to deeper spiritual questions she had suppressed since childhood. For years, she navigated two worlds – attending church while exploring meditation and alternative spiritual practices – feeling the growing tension between inherited beliefs and emerging truths.
When diagnosed with a rare brain tumor in 2020, Beth's spiritual evolution accelerated during her recovery. Confined to quiet stillness, she deepened her meditation practice and found profound connections with ancestors and spiritual guides. Through vulnerability and raw honesty, Beth reveals how she processed the grief of lost relationships as friends and family struggled to accept her changing beliefs, while discovering an unexpected peace and expanded capacity for love.
This powerful conversation delves into the complex emotions of religious deconstruction – the anger, fear, and liberation that come with questioning core beliefs about worthiness and divine connection. Beth offers practical wisdom for those experiencing similar journeys: finding supportive therapists, practicing self-compassion through journaling, and cultivating patience during the inevitable anger phase. Her story reminds us that spiritual growth isn't about perfection but about authentically embracing our soul's unfolding.
Whether you're questioning your religious upbringing, navigating midlife spiritual shifts, or supporting someone through their own transformation, this vulnerable conversation offers compassionate guidance and the reminder that you're not alone. Ready to step out of your spiritual closet? This episode might just give you the courage you need.

E50 -Midlife Cannabis: Benefits Beyond the Buzz with Ellen Scanlon
21 May 2025
01:16:56
Cannabis might not be what immediately comes to mind when thinking about solutions for menopause symptoms, but this powerful plant is proving to be exactly what millions of midlife women need. With one in four women already turning to it for relief, cannabis offers natural alternatives to pharmaceutical options that often come with unwanted side effects.
In this eye-opening conversation with Ellen Scanlon, host of the "How to Do the Pot" podcast, we explore the science behind why cannabis works so effectively for women's health. The endocannabinoid system—a major regulatory system in our bodies helps maintain balance throughout our physical and emotional processes. When this system gets out of whack (as often happens during hormonal transitions), cannabis compounds can help restore equilibrium.
We dismantle outdated stigmas, addressing everything from the racist origins of the word "marijuana" to the war on drugs messaging that scared our generation away from a plant that humans have used medicinally for thousands of years. Both Ellen and I share our personal journeys to cannabis—hers through recovery from a serious accident and endometriosis pain, mine through insomnia and autoimmune issues that weren't responding to conventional treatments.
The practical information in this episode is invaluable, covering different consumption methods (no smoking required!), optimal ratios of CBD to THC for beginners (hint: more CBD than THC), and how to navigate dosing safely. We discuss specific benefits for sleep, pain, hot flashes, and even better sex, providing a comprehensive guide for women curious about incorporating cannabis into their wellness routine.
Whether you're cannabis-curious or looking to refine your approach, this conversation provides a judgment-free space to learn about a natural option that's helping countless women reclaim their sleep, manage pain, reduce anxiety, and enhance their quality of life during midlife transitions. Remember—start low and slow, and always have some CBD on hand to counteract any unwanted THC effects!
Let's Connect!
Ellen Scanlon is the host of How to Do the Pot, the award-winning podcast that helps women feel more confident about cannabis—and opens up honest conversations about health, pain, pleasure, and everything in between. She launched the show to share trusted, relatable stories in a space that’s often confusing or intimidating, especially for women over 35 who didn’t grow up with legal weed. Since then, she’s released over 250 episodes, grown a Substack newsletter that reaches tens of thousands, and built How to Do the Pot into one of the top 5% of podcasts globally. Ellen’s background spans finance, health advocacy, and media. Today, she advises brands and founders working at the intersection of women’s health, innovation, and wellness—helping them translate complex or stigmatized topics into meaningful connection.
Ever felt wildly awake and yet still stuck answering emails and feeding the dog? That dissonance is the integration gap—the space between a life-changing insight and a life that actually reflects it. We explore how midlife awakening dismantles old lenses like people pleasing and approval chasing while leaving the ordinary scaffolding—jobs, bills, relationships—intact, and how to live honestly inside that reality without burning it all down.
I walk through what integration really looks like: faster recovery after triggers, boundaries that get quieter because they’re kept, and a spirituality that’s less dramatic and more truthful. We name the grief that follows awakening—grieving the self who didn’t know better, the years spent performing, and ties that fit old rules but not new truth. Instead of chasing instant zen, we build stability first so peace has somewhere to land. That means caring for the nervous system with the most unglamorous tools: consistent sleep, supportive food, movement that clears emotion, and simple routines that help your body trust you again.
You’ll also hear a grounded decision-making framework that favors discernment over destruction. Urgent, righteous energy often signals a dysregulated system, not clarity. We pause, tell the truth, and ask: what truth am I not living inside this structure? Sometimes the structure changes; sometimes our performance within it does. I share reflection prompts you can take into journaling, meditation, or a long drive to help you notice where life feels less true, where grief needs time, and what stability looks like right now. If you’re feeling disconnected from your old motivators, you’re not broken—you’re recalibrating. Clear eyes, open heart, one honest step at a time.

Are you caught in a cycle of endless hustle, feeling disconnected from yourself and struggling to remember why you started your business in the first place? You're not alone. The burnout epidemic is hitting midlife women particularly hard, but energy expert Cindy "Cin" Meckler offers a revolutionary approach to breaking free.
In this transformative conversation, Cin shares her personal journey from medication-dependent burnout to becoming a multidimensional energetics expert who helps women leaders reconnect with their body's innate wisdom. She reveals the subtle, often missed signals your body sends when you're approaching burnout—like mental fog, emotional sensitivity, and that feeling of being completely checked out during conversations. These aren't just annoyances; they're your nervous system screaming for attention.
The beauty of Cin's approach lies in its practicality. Her Three-Breath Reset technique can provide immediate relief in the midst of chaos, while her insights on breaking technology addiction and setting boundaries offer sustainable solutions for the long term.
For women entrepreneurs, Cin challenges the belief that success requires constant availability and hustle. By tapping into your intuition rather than following someone else's blueprint, you can create a business and a life that thrives with less effort. Those transition periods when clients seem to fall away? They're not failures—they're making space for aligned opportunities that match your evolving energy.
Whether you're battling burnout, seeking to reconnect with your intuition, or simply curious about how energy work intersects with business strategy, this episode offers practical wisdom for reclaiming your vitality. Because as Cin beautifully reminds us, "It takes courage to open the door to a new version of yourself, but time is all you have. When a podcast interview goes terribly wrong, it becomes the perfect opportunity to get crystal clear about what truly matters on our spiritual journey. In this unexpected solo episode, I share the raw, real experience of having to stop an interview and dismiss a guest who revealed deeply problematic views that conflicted with everything my podcast stands for.
This challenging moment prompted me to pull back the curtain on my own spiritual evolution – from growing up between two different Christian denominations to teaching Sunday school, and eventually finding a more authentic spiritual path that transcends religious limitations. With complete transparency, I share my current spiritual beliefs: that we're all connected through divine oneness, that judgment and marginalization have no place in spiritual growth, and that authentic living is our true purpose.
What makes this spiritual awakening in midlife so liberating? For me, it's the absolute freedom from fear – especially fear of death. I explore why I no longer believe in hell, how I view Jesus as an ascended master while leaving behind religious dogma, and why I'm actually excited about eventually returning to divine love (though I'm in no rush!). This journey has taught me that setting clear boundaries with people whose paths don't align with mine isn't just acceptable – it's essential for spiritual growth.
Whether you're questioning your religious upbringing, feeling drawn to explore spirituality beyond doctrine, or simply trying to live more authentically, this episode offers permission to trust your intuition and honor your unique spiritual journey. Join me for this unfiltered conversation about standing firm in your truth, even when it means walking away from situations that don't serve your highest good. Ready to reclaim your spiritual journey on your own terms?
E47 -Midlife: Crisis or Transformation? with Keri Mangis
23 Apr 2025
01:10:54
What if midlife isn't a crisis at all, but a powerful opportunity for transformation? In this illuminating conversation, author and spiritual teacher Keri Mangis challenges us to flip the script on everything we thought we knew about this pivotal life stage.
Keri shares her extraordinary journey through breakdown to breakthrough, including a raw, vulnerable moment when years of suppressed emotions finally erupted in a primal scream that changed everything. She explains how women especially are conditioned to "keep the peace" at the expense of our authentic selves, storing trauma in our bodies until we finally create space for healing.
We explore the concept of the "liminal stage" – that messy, uncomfortable middle place between who we were and who we're becoming. Unlike Western culture, which provides little guidance for these in-between times, Keri offers practical wisdom for navigating these transformative spaces with grace and purpose.
From her solo pilgrimage to Myanmar that forever changed her relationship with identity, to her insights about releasing societal "shoulds" and reclaiming our authentic voice, Keri provides a roadmap for anyone feeling stuck, disillusioned, or ready for profound change. She reminds us that our purpose isn't some external achievement but authenticity itself – living true to our values regardless of whether it fits neatly into societal expectations.
Whether you're in the throes of midlife transformation or simply questioning the path you're on, this conversation offers compassionate guidance for breaking free from limitations, embracing uncertainty, and finally living life on your own terms.
Keri Mangis is more than just an author and speaker—she’s a guide for those seeking deeper meaning and transformation in a chaotic world. With over 20 years of experience as a wholeness advocate and spiritual teacher, Keri understands the frustration of feeling stuck and disconnected. Through her writing and teachings, Keri helps people break free from limiting beliefs to rediscover their true essence and align with their core values.
Her spiritual and personal growth studies and certifications have run the gamut over the years from yoga, Ayurveda, energy work, and meditation. Most recently, she has taken on studying Alchemy, Jungian Psychology, archetypes, and rites of passage. She has completed courses with Sharon Blackie, Michael Meade, and the Center of Applied Jungian Studies.
She is a current writer for Spirituality and Health Magazine, and a top 50 writer at Elephant Journal. Her first book, Embodying Soul: A Return to Wholeness, received multiple awards, including the 2020 IPA award for Mind, Body & Spirit and the 2020 Readers’ Favorite Gold Medal in Non-Fiction Spiritual and Supernatural. She is currently working on her second book, an illuminating exploration of personal and collective transformation that will empower readers to evolve their consciousness for an uncertain future.
E46 -Enough: Finding Peace in a World of Distractions, Hustle, and Expectations with Barbara Burgess
16 Apr 2025
01:15:20
What if the path to inner peace wasn't about doing more, but recognizing you're already enough? Barbara Burgess joins us for a soul-stirring conversation that might just revolutionize how you approach midlife.
Barbara shares how leaving a 20-year toxic job created space for profound self-discovery. With disarming honesty, she reveals how we become trapped in "small yeses" that drain our energy and pull us away from our authentic path. Her concept of "bulletproof grace" offers a transformative approach to handling difficult people without absorbing their negativity.
The most powerful moments come when Barbara explains how our bodies hold wisdom our minds often ignore. Research shows our physical reactions provide more accurate guidance than our thoughts, yet we've trained ourselves to disconnect from these internal signals. Through simple practices like pocket phrases ("Let me think about that"), we can create space to check in with our bodies before committing to things that don't serve us.
Barbara's perspective on "staying in your energy lane" provides a refreshing antidote to comparison culture. When we stop trying to mimic others' journeys and protect our boundaries from others' expectations, we discover a natural flow state where meaning and joy emerge effortlessly. Her stories about connecting with strangers and finding delight in small moments demonstrate how slowing down—even amid busy lives—reveals opportunities for genuine connection.
Whether you're struggling with boundaries, feeling overwhelmed by others' expectations, or simply seeking more peace in daily life, this episode offers practical wisdom wrapped in midlife realness. Join us to discover how honoring your "enough-ness" might be the most revolutionary act of self-care you can practice.
E45 -Six Pillars for Embracing Confidence with Karen Fabian
09 Apr 2025
01:14:05
When Karen Fabian took her first yoga class in December 1999, she experienced what she calls "a bolt of lightning" – a moment of clarity that would ultimately lead her away from her six-figure corporate healthcare career and perfect-on-paper life as a doctor's wife into an entirely new path.
Karen's journey from that pivotal moment to founding Bare Bones Yoga illuminates the powerful transformation that's possible in midlife when we have the courage to challenge our limiting beliefs. What started as teaching yoga classes in a renovated gas station has evolved into a comprehensive methodology for building confidence, particularly for women at midlife crossroads.
The heart of our conversation explores Karen's six pillars for confronting self-doubt: intentional movement, experimenting with daily challenges, self-inquiry, meditation, visualization, and healthy habits. Rather than abstract concepts, these pillars offer practical, actionable strategies that create what Karen calls "the magic of momentum" – the snowball effect that occurs when small actions gradually transform our self-perception.
Most compelling is Karen's insight about how deeply our childhood experiences shape our adult behaviors. From the yoga teacher who couldn't face her students because of a critical comment about her clothing decades earlier to the corporate executive afraid to speak up in meetings, these limiting narratives silently direct our lives until we consciously challenge them. Through experiments like finding your "power pose" – a stance that neurologically increases confidence – Karen demonstrates how physical practices can rewire mental patterns.
Whether you're contemplating a career pivot, struggling with midlife identity questions, or simply wanting to feel more confident in your daily life, Karen's methodology offers a structured approach to reclaiming your power. As she beautifully puts it, this work is about "women feeling like they're living their lives driving the car. The car is not being driven for them."
Let's Connect!
Karen Fabian is the Founder of Bare Bones Yoga. She's also an author and podcast host. Karen has a background in yoga teaching, anatomy and rehabilitative medicine through her initial clinical work as a Social Worker and Rehabilitation Counselor and then over 20 years in a variety of health care business settings. Karen has her B.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Boston University, her Master’s in Health Care Administration from Simmons College, is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher and was one of the first Certified Baptiste Yoga Teachers. She also earned her Certified Personal Trainer Certification through the National Association of Sports Medicine in May, 2017 and is a CPT.
Kelly Palmatier discovered her psychic abilities early in childhood, delivering one of her first message at just eight years old, but it wasn't until 2017 that her spiritual path took a dramatic turn. Sitting by a waterfall in meditation, she received clear instructions from Spirit to become a medium—a calling she followed immediately, channeling her first spirits within a month.
During our conversation, Kelly demystifies the often-confusing world of spiritual communication by explaining the fundamental differences between psychics and mediums. "Every medium is a psychic because they use psychic skills, but not every psychic is a medium," she shares, noting that mediumship specifically involves connecting with those who have crossed over. As an evidential medium, Kelly prides herself on providing specific, validating details rather than vague statements, ensuring authentic connections that bring genuine comfort to her clients.
The spiritual realm unfortunately attracts its share of questionable practitioners, and Kelly generously shares her expertise on avoiding scams. She explains the concerning practices of "hot readings" (researching clients beforehand) and "cold readings" (making educated guesses based on appearance). Her practical advice includes booking anonymously or through phone sessions to eliminate visual cues, and being wary of anyone claiming spirits are "stuck" or in distress—legitimate mediums understand spirits are at peace after crossing over. For those navigating the sometimes challenging journey from skepticism to spiritualism, Kelly offers techniques for requesting specific signs as confirmation when communicating with Spirit, creating a personal verification system that builds confidence in intuitive messages.
What happens when we shed our physical bodies? Kelly's experiences channeling those who've passed provide remarkable insights into the afterlife. She describes different vibration levels where spirits continue learning and growing, surrounded by love and support—even those who've taken their own lives. Perhaps most fascinating is her observation about those with Alzheimer's or dementia, whose spirits sometimes temporarily leave their bodies before physical death. Ready to explore your own intuitive gifts? Connect with Kelly for readings, group sessions, or personalized mentorship to safely develop your spiritual connections with proper grounding and protection techniques.

E43 Part 1 -The Worm Queen: Kim Rogers amazing story
26 Mar 2025
00:38:11
What happens when a healthcare professional with over 15 years of experience in Western medicine discovers that parasites are destroying her health? Kim Rogers, now known as "The Worm Queen," shares her remarkable journey from preparing for death to becoming a health advocate followed by over a million people.
When conventional medicine failed her after 13 surgeries and a botched hysterectomy, Kim and her husband took a radical step – moving to their property near the rainforest where he began growing functional and psychedelic mushrooms to aid her healing journey. Through extensive meditation and plant medicine, Kim experienced a full Kundalini awakening that transformed not just her spiritual understanding but revealed the source of her chronic illness: parasites had invaded her body.
The revelation came after years of suffering with no answers. Despite her extensive medical background, Kim had never been taught about the prevalence of parasitic infections in developed countries. Her shocking discovery that 75% of American water supplies test positive for nematodes (physical worms like roundworms and tapeworms) led her to create the viral ParaFy parasite cleanse that has now helped thousands reclaim their health.
This episode takes us through Kim's spiritual awakening, her healing journey with plant medicine, and the profound connection between parasites and our overall wellbeing. Kim explains how these organisms don't just steal nutrients – they actively suppress our intuition, lower our energetic frequency, and harbor viruses and heavy metals within our bodies.
Ready to question everything you thought you knew about your health? Listen to the Worm Queen's story and discover why addressing parasites might be the missing piece in your own wellness journey. Don't miss part two where we dive deeper into the parasite protocol and how to implement it in your life.

What Phase of Your Spiritual Awakening Are You In?
29 Jan 2026
00:42:33
The quiet ache you feel isn’t failure—it’s a summons. We trace a clear, human path through the six phases of spiritual awakening in midlife, weaving Jen’s personal catalysts with grounded tools that trade chaos for clarity. From the first jolt of “there has to be more” to the steady hum of alignment, this conversation demystifies awakening and makes it practical: how to explore new practices without losing yourself, when to pause big decisions, and why deep therapy and daily rituals unlock real change.
We begin with why the pull hits so hard at this stage of life—identity shifts, loss, health scares, and the eerie emptiness of “having it all.” Then we move into exploration with discernment: meditation, yoga, sound baths, and the bold act of asking for unmistakable signs. Jen shares her own story—career upheaval, reopened wounds, and the surprising signs that built trust—before guiding us into the gritty heart-work of phase three. Think IFS therapy, boundaries, deconstructing rigid beliefs, and the wisdom of hibernation when your nervous system needs space.
As healing takes root, integration follows. Creativity returns, community arrives, and meditation deepens from stress relief to a genuine relationship with spirit—guides, synchronicities, and a felt oneness that changes how you move through the world. From there, aligned action becomes natural: saying no without apology, reshaping work and relationships, and serving others because overflow wants somewhere to go. We also name the trap of spiritual bypassing and why true growth makes you more compassionate, not more performative.
If you’ve wondered where you are on the path—or how to take the next step without burning it all down—this is your roadmap. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs steady encouragement, and leave a review so more midlife seekers can find their way here.

What if your path to overcoming anxiety, depression, and stepping out of your comfort zone was through yoga? Meet Natalie Holst, our inspiring guest and certified yoga instructor specializing in various forms such as Hatha, Ashtanga, and Kundalini. Natalie opens up about her transformative journey from a stable government career to embracing her passion for teaching yoga full-time. Her story is a testament to how yoga can be a powerful tool for personal growth and emotional healing, especially during midlife. From understanding different yoga styles to starting a practice with the right essentials, we cover it all. Natalie shares insights on adapting yoga to individual health needs, emphasizing the accessibility of practices like chair yoga and Yoga Nidra. With options for practicing at home or in studios, learn how to navigate the world of yoga confidently. Tune in for an enlightening discussion that promises to leave you with the inspiration and knowledge to embark on or deepen your own yoga journey.
Natalie’s journey began in 2001 with yoga at community centers in Ottawa, Canada. Never one for traditional forms of exercise, yoga offered her an appealing combination of a good workout in both body and mind. As soon as she got into savasana (resting pose) she felt a wave of calm and peace wash over her. As someone who is naturally anxious and has an overactive mind, this was a godsent. While it was a great experience on a physical level, it hinted at much more to explore. Yoga unites your body and mind through the power of paying attention, and attention to the breath. The practice meets you where you are at, it is non-competitive, non-judgemental and encourages an overriding curiosity of self-awareness. It’s you observing you. There is a whole wonderful philosophy behind it that is quite scientific which outlines why we suffer and ways to get out of it in a non-religious preachy way. It wasn’t too long after in 2005 that she took her first yoga training and was teaching soon after. She has taken numerous trainings in hatha, ashtanga, yin, restorative, yoga nidra, vinyasa, yoga therapy, and kundalini. As her interests and appetites are diverse, she draws from all of these to create a dynamic experience in her teaching. Yoga offers a plethora of practices to suit any body or temperament type. You just have to be open to trying and continue trying till you find your fit.
