Mort Garson, the leading exponent of electronic music, re-created the music of HAIR using a Moog Synthesizer, with many oscillators, patch cords, filters, various forms of modulation and program sequences. In result, he has given new dimension and clarity to the brilliant musical created by Gerome Ragni, James Rado and Galt MacDermot.

Episode 3
jeudi 23 septembre 2021 • Duration 36:38
Today on the podcast we celebrate the life of the man who defined his own by two periods; before HAIR and after HAIR. To the outside world he was a beloved fixture of the world-renowned La MaMa Experimental Theater Club, but to the HAIR universe, he was simply Michael Arian.
Our deepest condolences to his friends and family in this time of loss. He was a truly remarkable human being and will be greatly, greatly missed.

With lyrics written by James Rado and Gerome Ragni and coupled with the music of Galt MacDermot, their songs, by 1970, had sold over one million copies in the United States, had 608 national and international recordings, covered by artists which included Nina Simone, Mantovani, The Fifth Dimension, Paul Mauriat and Barbara Streisand, and to top it all off, a recording of the original broadway cast made it to moon with the astronauts of Apollo 12. We've even included a little surprise, so stick around to the end and we look forward to seeing you again this Thursday for our latest episode of HAiR, the american tribal love rock podcast.
