Role-Play Rumble22 Jul 202301:03:41

Introducing the star of our show: Role-play and Skills Training! It's like drama class for the criminally inclined, where they get to practice being law-abiding citizens. We call it "Criminal Improv," where we pretend we're in a real-life social situation, and our participants act out how they'd normally respond. Oh, and trust us, folks, it's not your typical improv show. Our criminals can give Shakespeare a run for his money with their elaborate performances! But here's the secret sauce – it's all about "unlearning" their old, ineffective behaviors. Yep! Just like peeling off those old, crusty criminal layers to reveal the diamond in the rough beneath. By the end of our sessions, these criminals will be giving TED Talks on how to choose pro-social goals! Stay tuned for our next episode, where we'll dive into the world of "Criminal Karaoke" – because everyone deserves to sing their way to redemption!

Are All Men Pedophiles?23 Jun 202301:19:59

Today we're diving headfirst into a topic that'll make you question everything you thought you knew. We're talking about the controversial documentary "Are All Men Pedophiles" by Jan-Willem Breure. This film takes us on a wild ride through the twisted maze of pedophilia hysteria. Strap in and buckle up! Now, we've got some burning questions to tackle. How did society arrive at this mind-boggling conclusion that all men are potential pedophiles? And what on earth are the political and social consequences of this madness? It's a real head-scratcher. Are men becoming the new victims of modern sexism, or is this surge in sexism somehow justified? We're about to break it down for you. Get ready for some heated discussions, explosive revelations, and a dash of our signature sarcastic humor. But remember, folks, we're here to examine the issues, not pass judgment. Let's keep it real. So join us as we dissect this documentary, share our insights, and maybe even poke a little fun at some absurdities along the way. So lock your doors, hide your kids, and let's dive into the controversial world of societal paranoia. Only on Guerrilla Social Work!

GSW News 423 Apr 202301:16:17

Today, the GSW Crew is presenting the latest and greatest news that affects the social work field. We talk a little nostalgia for childhood movies that just don’t hold up. And Jeff finally gives me his long awaited, albeit underwhelming new years dare.

Aren’t you tired of being a selfish hoarder of the joy and laughter you get from our show? Well, we have a solution for you! Give us a five-star rating and share the show with a friend. It's the perfect way to spread the love and let others know that you're not the only one with good taste. Plus, think of all the good karma you'll get from sharing our hilarious banter and witty commentary. So don't be a podcast hermit, share the love and give us that five-star rating. Your ears and your soul will thank you.

The Dark Triad01 Apr 202301:15:20

Today, the GSW Crew is discussing the Dark Triad. The Dark Triad is a set of three personality traits that are often associated with negative and destructive behaviors. These traits are narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy. Narcissism refers to an excessive focus on oneself, including a sense of entitlement and a lack of empathy for others. Machiavellianism involves a willingness to manipulate and exploit others for personal gain, often through deceit and cunning. Psychopathy is characterized by a lack of remorse, empathy, and impulse control, often leading to impulsive and antisocial behavior. These traits can be found in varying degrees in individuals, and while they may provide certain advantages in certain contexts, they are generally associated with negative outcomes for both the individual and those around them.

GSW Responds to Candace Owens01 Feb 202301:13:34

Felicitations Guerrilla Social Workers! We’re stoked to bring you another chitchat with your hosts Jeff “optic scump” Moore, and yours faithfully, Mace Warren. Jeff and I are both forensic psychotherapists that specialize in treating clients involved in the criminal justice system.  We love sharing our misguided musings with all of you, and we thank you so much for your ongoing listenership.

Today, the GSW crew responds to a video made by Candace Owens from the Daily Wire titled, “Therapy is Ruining Western Civilization.” Candace shares her views on why she thinks therapy is causing people to overshare and become overly sensitive, and the boys give their take on the subject.

If you like what you hear, offer to tie the five-star ratings shoes. When you kneel down, reach between their legs with your stronger arm and reach around your back from the same side with your weaker arm before then lifting the five-star rating up over your shoulder. From this position, fall forward to slam the five-star rating against the ground.

And now on with the show.

Hunting for Resolution06 Jan 202301:03:43

Today, the GSW posse reviews a large-scale experiment on new year’s resolutions. Despite the popularity of New Year’s resolutions, current knowledge about them is limited. We investigated what resolutions people make when they are free to formulate them, whether different resolutions reach differing success rates, and whether it is possible to increase the likelihood of a resolution’s success by administering information and exercises on effective goal setting.

If you like what you hear, when the five-star rating button twists its ankle, offer your shoulder to help them walk. But before taking your first step, grab a waist lock and lift the five-star rating up while falling backward, causing them to land on their neck and shoulders.

And now on with the show.

Oscarsson M, Carlbring P, Andersson G, Rozental A. A large-scale experiment on New Year's resolutions: Approach-oriented goals are more successful than avoidance-oriented goals. PLoS One. 2020 Dec 9;15(12):e0234097. doi: 10.1371/journal.pone.0234097. PMID: 33296385; PMCID: PMC7725288.

Grooming Catfish23 Dec 202200:55:58

Today, the GSW crew discusses the concept of catfishing and how it affects our clients. Apps and social media, it can be big business, with romance scams costing victims millions of dollars across the US every year. Current catfishing statistics project an even further upward curve over the coming years, and clients reentering society after incarceration trying to build a new social network should be vigilant of the dangers.

If you like what you hear, offer to give the five-star rating a back rub. As soon as they relax sit on their back and place both their arms across your thighs. Then reach forward and grab their chin and pull.

ATSA Review21 Nov 202201:09:17

Today, the GSW crew reviews their recent attendance to the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse. We talk about all the presentations we heard and give our personal takes on the conference as a whole.

Tackling Toxic Masculinity21 Oct 202201:15:41

Today, the GSW crew tries to tackle the topic of toxic masculinity. We discuss the idea that manhood and masculinity represents a fixed, inevitable, and natural state of being, or if masculinity is something that is malleable and made, not given.

If you like what you hear, convince the five-star rating that using black charcoal when they brush will actually make their teeth shine whiter, but before they try it for the first time, replace their tooth charcoal with black paste industrial dye.

Untouchable Reaction Video Part 311 Sep 202201:15:17

Greetings Guerrilla Social Workers! We’re thrilled to bring you another chitchat with your hosts Jeff “Rust Lust” Moore, and yours faithfully, Mace Warren. Jeff and I are both forensic psychotherapists that specialize in treating clients involved in the criminal justice system.  We love sharing our misguided musings with all of you, and we thank you so much for your ongoing listenership.

Today we bring you our last installment of the Untouchable Reaction Video series. When the most powerful lobbyist in Florida discovers that the nanny has sexually abused his daughter, he harnesses his extraordinary political power to pass the toughest sex offender laws in the nation. UNTOUCHABLE chronicles his crusade, and its impact on the lives of several of the 800,000 people forced to live under the kinds of laws he has championed. The film interweaves intimate portraits of men and women who have been branded sex offenders with the heartbreaking stories of those who have suffered sexual abuse. Directed and produced by David Fiege. No infringement intended.

If you like what you hear, pretend like you are going to play airplane with the five-star rating. When the five-star rating extends his arms to hold you, hold one of his forearms with both hands, position your legs so your knees are bent and their arm and elbow are between your legs, squeeze your legs towards their body and pull the arm towards you, and using the five-star ratings chest as a fulcrum, pull their wrist to your chest and apply upwards pressure from your hops, while slightly pulling the hand towards your chest.

Sex Offender News #319 Aug 202200:58:43

Today we bring you another installment of our GSW news series, where Jeff and I each bring a provocative news article to the table to discuss and share our thoughts.

If you like what you hear, ask the five-star rating to help you practice a new method for the Heimlich maneuver. But when he ducks his head forward wrap your arm around his neck, grab your choking arm with the other hand, push your hips forward, and pull up on the five-star rating’s head as he nods off.

Today we record another installment of our Villains to Victory series with our former client Jack. Jeff and I loved catching up with Jack, and we know you will enjoy him as well.

If you like what you hear, please be sure to trap the five-star rating’s arm between your legs and pull back on his head until he taps out.

Mass Shootings & Mental Health15 Jul 202201:09:52

We’re super sorry for the delay in posting. I guess that’s just what happens on Summer break.  Either way, we’re stoked to be back in studio. Today we talk about the recent school shooting at Uvalde Elementary, our legislator’s response, and whether clinical professionals have the capacity to handle this as a mental health issue.

If you like what you hear, please bake a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies for the five-star rating, but when you deliver them pretend that you actually baked them a batch of chocolate chip cookies instead.

The boys sit down today for our second reaction video for the documentary Untouchable. Untouchable documentary is a film by David Feige from Blue Lawn Productions, all rights reserved, panopticon productions, llc 2022, no infringement intended. I think this one turned out great and we look forward to your feedback.

If you like what you hear, wait for a hot day and hitch a ride in the five-star rating’s car, but as you’re walking away, fake like you left your water bottle in the car and ask to unlock the door. When they’re not looking, pour milk under the carpet in the back seat.

And now on with the show.

This skill is intended to support efforts for relapse prevention by teaching clients strategies to interrupt a crisis situation that could lead to potential high-risk situations. The purpose of this clinical skill is to prepare and equip clients that may find themselves in risky situations while in treatment with a select set of skills to manage those situations so they can achieve their goals. Excellent podcast for both therapists and clients.

Playing Games in Treatment01 Apr 202200:58:30

The boys sit down today and talk about the colloquial term “playing the game” as it pertains to treatment. While some practitioners discourage the use of such a term to describe something as important as clinical psychotherapy, the GSW crew looks at this as an opportunity to reinforce client buy-in to treatment. Specifically, we invite clients to think of treatment strategically and how playing the game correctly can improve their lives. It was a fun discussion and I really enjoyed it. We hope you do to!

The film synopsis reads as follows: “When the most powerful lobbyist in Florida discovers that the nanny has sexually abused his daughter, he harnesses his extraordinary political power to pass the toughest sex offender laws in the nation. It is a film that pushes viewers toward an uncomfortable place, requiring them to walk in the shoes of those who have survived sexual abuse, but to still bear witness to the experiences of those we revile.” Written and produced by David Feige.

MAN VS. BEAST!16 Jul 202100:59:02

The boys sit down to discuss the YouGov America Article Rumble in the Jungle: Which Animals Would Win in a Fight? 1,224 US adults were asked to choose which of two animals they thought would win in a fight in a series of head to head match-ups. On each page they saw two animals with the prompt: “Which animal do you think would win in a fight?” Each respondent saw seven match-ups, and no animal featured more than once. Data was weighted to be nationally representative of all US Adults, 18+. The survey was conducted between April 12-13, 2021. They also link this with the Dunning-Kruger Effect. The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people wrongly overestimate their knowledge or ability in a specific area. This tends to occur because a lack of self-awareness prevents them from accurately assessing their own skills.
