Having cut her teeth in bands over the past couple decades, Maskin's solo debut Swimming was recorded in 2020 as a result of the pandemic lockdown. UK's The Rodeo hailed it as "indie-folk at its finest" as it climbed the NACC charts. Her follow-up EP, Dreams A River, expands on the folk traditions of Maskin’s sonic palate while also keeping experimental moments in frame. Maskin formerly fronted indie-rock group Lowlight, a run that included four acclaimed studio albums and a tour opening for Pretenders.
