When a wild Marill crosses paths with the group, it takes them on a fun side quest where they meet Wilhomena, who Brock of course immediately falls for. Team Rocket makes two appearances this episode and we do get some solid battling, with Misty showing that she has earned Pikachu’s respect by leading it in a battle. This episode gives us a bit of everything, from humor to action. This fun detour will lead us to Ash and crew soon reaching Azalea Town, which is the next Gym on Ash’s radar. This episode is packed with action and we get to see some great battling in a Gym setting. A great takeaway from this episode is about the bond that a Trainer makes with his Pokémon, and how important it is to know their limits. Gotta Watch’em All Podcast 118 Recording Date - 7/13/21 Publish Date - 8/4/21   We have a bunch of new animation to talk about this week! We begin with the newly released Master Journeys Trailer which details how Ash, Goh, and Chloe will have 3 separate missions on their adventure to be Pokémon Trainers. This triple arc format looks to be a ton of fun and will be interesting to watch develop as the season progresses. Using the 12 episode block format on Netflix, we get the option to binge or spread out our viewing.   A new Pokétoon was released in Japan and we absolutely love it! Studio Colorido did an amazing job telling a story without the need for dialogue! Amazing animation and incredible music push this story along and it had us smiling the entire time. There is just something about Magikarp that pulls on our nostalgia vibe!   Finally we watch along with Pokémon the Series Episode 118, Flower Power! WHAT A WEEK!  This has been one of the best weeks in the history of Pokémon GO!  We crushed the Global Catch Challenge, unlocked Farfetch'd, received some fantastic updates from Niantic, and Melissa caught Mewtwo! It feels great to see and feel the blood circulating through the PoGO community again, as all of this excitement is a great replacement for the negativity that has crept in lately. PokemonGOHub put together a great article that details the paradigm shift that has taken place at Niantic that mirrors the positivity throughout the community. “Mystery at the Lighthouse” proves to be the most unique episode of the Pokemon Anime so far.  Episode 13 takes an interesting approach to applying mechanics from the video games to the adventures of Ash and crew.  In yet another hiccup in the journey to Vermillion city, we see a new side of Ash, along with some interesting storytelling, in an episode that just doesn’t seem to fit in the current story arc.  Melissa and Ken share their feedback on the episode, as well as make sense of the new stylings to the show’s structure.
