S2 E3: Golf is Better when we're Together - with Swingset Sport
Season 2 ยท Episode 3
Monday, August 26, 2024 โข Duration 51:40
This week's guests are Amelia (Mils) Barber and Emelia Whittaker, co-founders of Swingset Sport, a growing online Golf community, which has a mission to support and inspiring current and future generations of Female golfers to get access to, enjoy equality and most importantly, have fun within the game of Golf.
This conversation is a beautiful demonstration of how Golf has an amazing power to bring people together, to deepen existing friendships and learn more about ourselves, both individually and collectively along the way.
As is commonplace at GYH, we bring Wellbeing into the spotlight, with both Mils and Emelia sharing their experiences of living with ADHD, and how Golf has helped them on that journey.
We hope you have just as much fun listening to this episode, as we did in recording it for you.
โAbout GYH:
At GYH, our community is brought together around one simple, core belief: Golf is Good For You. The GYH Podcast and Journal bring to life Golfโs unique Health and Wellbeing benefits, through the power of Storytelling and Community Spirit. This serves our mission of improving the accessibility, diversity and inclusivity of the game for both current and future generations of Golfers.
S2 E2: Golf Is The Spice Of Life - with Mike Harris
Season 2 ยท Episode 2
Monday, August 19, 2024 โข Duration 58:23
In this episode, we come to you from Royal Porthcawl, where we welcome Mike Harris back to the pod.
Mike is a respected figure in Golf media. He has spent decades in and around the Golf industry and the world of Golf content, in his previous role as Editor of Golf Monthly magazine and now in his expanded remit of Content Director at Future Plc.
As is customary at GYH, we chat all things Golf, Life and everything in between (e.g favourite Omelette fillings).
If there were a theme which sums up this episode, it would be that Golf is diverse. Diverse in terms of the variety of ways in which we play, consume, experience, talk about, watch or engage with the game. At the same time, Golf is changing. Its evolving. Itโs on a journey to become more inclusive, even more diverse.
And that, we consider to be healthy.

Alex Frolish enjoys a unique vantage point when playing Golf. As an airline pilot, Alex is an international jetsetter with a difference. When traveling, Alex doesnโt sit idle on stopovers. With his Elevation Golfing Nation alter ego, he resourcefully uses his time to head out to play local golf courses, combining a love of the game, with a passion for Golf writing and a deep respect for Golf course architecture.
Conscious of the environmental impact of his work, coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit, Alex has founded EGN Golf as an online Golf retail business, selling innovative, sustainable golf products.

S1 E4: It's Your Honour
Season 1 ยท Episode 4
Saturday, March 30, 2024 โข Duration 45:49
Golf is many things, to many people. To Craig McKee, Golf is a release.
Following the passing of his daughter, Danielle, Craig has found solace in Golf. Out on the course, he has space to reflect and to remember Danielle, calling on her for inspiration as he stands on a tee box or lines up a shot.
Moreover, Golf has presented him and his family with opportunities to raise important awareness around DiGeorge syndrome (22q11 deletion syndrome), a rare and relatively unknown genetic disorder which affected Danielle throughout her life.
Through organising and running a charity Golf day at Elderslie Golf Club, the McKee family have raised vital funds in support of Max Appeal, a UK based charity whose mission is to try to ensure that every person with DiGeorge syndrome lives as independent and prosperous a life as possible.
At GYH, itโs our honour and pleasure to be helping in some small way, to raise awareness for a condition, which, after Down Syndrome, is the second most common genetic condition and one that very few people seem to have ever heard of.

S1 E3: Ten Grief Lessons from Golf - with Robin Chodak
Season 1 ยท Episode 3
Saturday, March 16, 2024 โข Duration 01:05:13
Golf is more than just a game. Itโs a metaphor for how you live your life.
Few people are better placed to talk about this, than Robin Chodak.
As a keen golfer and as someone who has experienced more than her fair share of grief and loss, Robinโs life purpose is to inspire and offer hope to others. When her husband, Gerry - a passionate and talented golfer - died suddenly in 2019, Robin felt determined to honour his life and memory.
Through continuing to embrace and enjoy Golf and all of the life lessons it can teach us, a moment of enlightenment came upon Robin. Feeling compelled to inspire and help others on their grief journey, Robin wrote and published her book, Ten Grief Lessons from Golf.
In this enlightening, engaging and inspiring conversation, we pull out some of the key themes from Robinโs book and unpack how we can all apply these life lessons in our game of life and our game of golf. This is an episode not to be missed.
