Anna is known affectionally as the world’s best life-optimization coach. She empowers others with her ultimate courage, stories of healing and forgiveness. Systemic sexual abuse, two forced abortions by a stepfather and then nineteen consecutive miscarriages were once Anna’s only story. Now her story is that she has reclaimed her power, freed herself from the tether of shame and pain, and has made her life-purpose to help others to do the same to live the life of their dreams.

Anna’s long bio:

Anna Ditchburn is the kind of brave that this world needs right now.

A child abandoned by her biological father at 4, a new father-figure arriving in her family’s life at ten years of age.

A knight in shining armor that provided for his family and seemed to be exactly the kind of person this broken family needed.

But before long this man revealed his true colors. A military man who became verbally abusive, ruled with an iron fist and ultimately committing the worst sin of all, systematic sexual abuse of Anna from age 15 until 21.

This abuse resulted in two pregnancies that then became forced illegal abortions.

Even after Anna was able to flee the grip of tyranny, an enduring legacy of nineteen consecutive miscarriages followed, a direct result of the botched abortion.

Anna is now the epitome of a success story. Reclaiming her power, forgiving the complicit parties, but never absolving them of their responsibilities.

Beth Veccione Bio:

After qualifying as a social worker in 2017, Beth wanted to address the lack of creative and community focused support available for young people. This led her to found Care to Dance - a social enterprise that uses dance and trauma-informed approaches to support care-experienced young people, to help them feel a sense of belonging and to process what they’ve been through in a safe space, without fear of judgement. 

We find creative ways to help them process their experiences, the painful and positive, provide the stability consistency they likely missed growing up and help them develop relationships built on trust so they have people to turn to. By doing this, we hope to achieve our mission to improve the wellbeing of care-experienced young people through dance, and to build inclusive communities where they feel safe, supported and can express themselves freely.

This year, Beth was in a car accident that left her with a broken back. She is lucky to have had an amazing support network, and strong mental resilience that she has cultivated over a long period of time. But it really brought home for her what it must be like to face challenges and dark times alone. Which is often the case for a lot of care-experienced young people.

So to mark Care to Dance’s 5 year anniversary and to raise money for the young people that they support, she will have run first ultramarathon! So many young people are struggling at the moment and services are still so stretched. By undertaking this challenge, Beth wanted to show all young people just how much is possible if you put your mind to it, what you can overcome with mental strength and determination, and people backing you. 

Beth is also undertaking a PhD to explore the effects and benefits combining the Arts and trauma-informed approaches can have for care-experienced young people.
