Janelle Brown Coaching Us To Live A Better Life (Yes For Real)06 Sep 202400:21:12
Janelle Brown Is An Amazing Coach- and coaching can be an incredible tool of you find the right coach like Janelle/

Investing in yourself isn't just about money. It encompasses a broad spectrum of actions, including dedicating time, effort, and resources towards self-improvement. When you invest in yourself, you are essentially laying down the foundation for future success. Without this commitment, you risk wasting your most valuable resource: time. Time is the one thing we cannot recover. Regardless of how much money you have, without time, it’s meaningless.

Why Self-Investment Matters
  1. Monetary Investment: Spending money on your education, skills, and personal development can yield significant returns in the long run. This could be through higher earning potential, better job opportunities, or simply achieving a higher quality of life.
  2. Time Investment: Allocating time towards learning new skills, improving your health, or nurturing relationships can have profound impacts on your overall well-being and success.
  3. Daily Effort: Consistent, daily efforts towards self-improvement compound over time. Even small steps taken each day can lead to substantial progress by the end of the year.
The Consequence of Inaction

Choosing not to invest in yourself can result in stagnation. If you’re content with the status quo, that’s okay, but many people have an inherent desire to achieve more. By not taking proactive steps, you’re essentially throwing away opportunities for growth and improvement. Living a life of mediocrity doesn’t fulfill the innate human drive to progress and excel.

The Role of Coaching

One effective way to invest in yourself is through coaching. A good coach can provide guidance, support, and accountability, helping you to navigate your personal and professional journey more effectively. When selecting a coach, it’s crucial to ensure they are certified, and credentialed, and that you resonate with their approach. The right coach can be instrumental in helping you achieve your goals.

Perfect Mess and Why We Try To Prove Ourselves04 Jun 202400:19:14

In a world where superficial interactions often dominate, the importance of real conversations cannot be overstated. Engaging in deep, meaningful dialogue allows us to connect on a profound level, fostering understanding and empathy. When these authentic exchanges take place within the context of female friendships, their impact is even more powerful. True female friendships provide a unique source of strength, support, and inspiration. They empower women to be their authentic selves, challenge each other to grow, and celebrate each other's victories. These bonds, built on trust and genuine connection, are a vital source of resilience and joy, enriching our lives in immeasurable ways.

Feeling the constant need to prove yourself can be exhausting and detrimental to your well-being. To break free from this cycle, start by recognizing your inherent worth. Understand that your value is not contingent on external validation or achievements but is intrinsic and unchanging.

Practice self-compassion by treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer a close friend. Accept that making mistakes and experiencing setbacks are natural parts of life and do not diminish your worth. Embrace your imperfections and learn to appreciate your strengths and unique qualities.

Set healthy boundaries to protect your time and energy. Say no to activities or commitments that drain you or are motivated solely by a desire to impress others. Focus on what genuinely matters to you and aligns with your values and passions.

Surround yourself with supportive and affirming people who appreciate you for who you are, not just what you do. Positive relationships can reinforce your sense of self-worth and reduce the pressure to constantly prove yourself.

Engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment, independent of others' opinions. Pursuing your interests and passions can boost your confidence and help you find satisfaction within yourself.

Lastly, challenge and reframe negative self-talk. When you feel inadequate or strive for approval, remind yourself of your intrinsic value and past achievements. Affirmations and mindfulness practices can also help you stay grounded and centered.

By adopting these strategies, you can gradually release the need to prove yourself and cultivate a deeper sense of self-acceptance and peace.

Obsessed with Conscious Bravery ft. Pamela Brinker29 Sep 202200:29:23

It is undeniable that life will, at some point, challenge us. The question is not if this will happen, but when it will happen and how we will deal with it. We may not always be able to control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond.

Our ability to deal with these challenges depends heavily on our level of resilience and bravery. Resilience helps us to withstand and recover from adversity, while bravery allows us to take risks and seize opportunities.

When we take the time to develop resilience and bravery, we open up new possibilities for ourselves and our lives full of authenticity, joy, and love. We can face our challenges with confidence, and we can seize opportunities with excitement and enthusiasm. These are not fixed traits you either have or don't have. You can build resilience and bravery by taking steps to develop them in yourself.

In this episode, we, together with our guest Pamela Brinker will explore different ways in which we can develop both our resilience and bravery – done with full awareness and intention. Pamela will also discuss the power of therapy and how it can help us create the life we know we're meant for.

Pamela Brinker is a writer who has worked as an integrative psychotherapist for over three decades. With extensive training in somatic work, she equips and empowers others to learn and use transpersonal techniques building upon intrinsic, conscious bravery. Having developed over 20 tools and practices, Pamela speaks, teaches & writes about bravery, resilience, and presence during adversity. Her new book, Conscious Bravery, teaches us how to train in bravery using solid concepts, tools, and practices.

Obsessed with Perfectionism, Failing Brilliantly and Brene Brown ft. Laura Cobb29 Sep 202200:25:41

Special Co-host Julie Riga, author of the best-selling book Stay on Course, podcast host of Stay on Course and Leadership Expert, https://julieriga.com

—

The fear of failure keeps many people from achieving their dreams and living a life of purpose. We often equate failure with not being good enough or not measuring up to some ideal standard.

This way of thinking is actually a form of perfectionism, an unrealistic and harmful belief system. It is the voice in our head that tells us we are not good enough, that we will never be good enough. This voice leads us to believe that failure is not an option.

The truth is that failure is an essential part of the human experience. Every time we fail, we get one step closer to our purpose. Without failure, we would never know what we are truly capable of. We would never push ourselves out of our comfort zones.

In this episode, Dr. Laura Cobb returns with guest co-host Julie Riga to discuss fighting back against this message of perfectionism and how failure can be a path to educating ourselves towards authenticity and greatness.

Dr. Laura is a life coach who empowers high-achieving women to rid themselves of fear, guilt, and shame to proudly and confidently suit up, show up, step up, and speak up at every opportunity. She sees herself as an ordinary woman making extraordinary choices one day at a time.

What You Will Learn From This Episode:

02:05 - Failure leading us closer to our purpose and true calling

05:01 - Failure as a stepping stone to growth

07:42 - Contribution over contamination in a relationship

09:51 - Continuing to learn with every additional experience

11:02 - Why do we feel we need to be perfect

12:09 - The difference between shame and humiliation (Brené Brown)

16:41 - Being perfectly imperfect as a parent

20:13 - Teaching resilience to our children

Obsessed With Queen Elizabeth, Her Majesty's Lessons and Our First Obsessed Baby!!10 Sep 202200:07:07

In this episode of Obsessed, we pay tribute to the life of Queen Elizabeth who reigned for 70 years- her legacy is a testament to a woman driven by duty and led by passion, her family, and her trusted advisors.

👶BUT FIRST- Let us congratulate our very own host Tia Walden and her husband Austin Walden on the birth of their son Otto Lyle! We could not be more excited as they start their family! Family hood is an adventure and the most rewarding experience! Congratulations Walden family!

This week has been a roller coaster of emotions from joy and then the collective sorrow of a nation and world upon the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. We are superfans of Queen Elizabeth and are mourning her life and celebrating her legacy. NBC reported the news on the Queens passing.

The death of Queen Elizabeth II is being mourned in Britain and around the world. The country’s longest-reigning monarch died Thursday at age 96.

Large crowds gathered outside Buckingham Palace in central London, while tributes poured in from across the country and around the world. Fears about the queen's health had been growing as the royal family rushed to Scotland to be by her side after Buckingham Palace said she had been placed under medical supervision.

Few Britons have known another monarch, so the end of Elizabeth’s reign after more than 70 years will thrust the royal family — and Britain — into days of mourning and an uncertain new era.

The country's new king, who will be known as King Charles III, has released a statement and will address the nation Friday.

Royal mourning period to be observed for 7 days after funeral

Chantal Da Silva

A period of Royal Mourning will be observed from now until seven days after Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

The date of the funeral has yet to be announced, but will be confirmed "in due course," it said, adding that the period of royal mourning will be observed by members of the royal family, royal household staff, and representatives of the royal household on official duties, along with troops committed to ceremonial duties.

Royal residences are also expected to be closed until after the queen's funeral, including the Queen's Gallery and the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, along with the Queen's Gallery in Edinburgh, the statement said.

Balmoral Castle and Sandringham House, the queen's private estates, will also be closed during the mourning period, in addition to Hillsborough Castle in Northern Island, it added.

Obsessed With Our Oldest Episodes: Ego, Change and Being Grateful For Your Challenges with Julie Lokun and Mika Altidor05 Sep 202200:17:13

🦋Here is a little special. This is an old-school episode with Jules and Mika discussing what really matters--the hard stuff.

Do you believe your life is meant for more? Yet, you are in a funk or feeling STUCK? Mika and Jules get together in Florida to talk about being in a funk. The weather can be a contributor to your funk. Being complacent can lead to depression, malaise, and gray days. We all go through bad news, bad weather, and challenges.

We tend to compare ourselves to others which makes life more difficult. Yet, we need to understand that we cannot do life alone. We need to understand that life is better together.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Stop COMPARING yourself to others because you never can compete with the filters of Instagram or snapshots of someone else's life.

The 3 C's--⬇

comparing, competing, complaining, and criticizing

What is worse is when we compare ourselves to the life we thought we should be living. We understand the power of living in the now.

Get inspired by surrounding yourself with people that are one or two steps ahead of you on your journey.

Obsessed With Stress and Overwhelm (Do Not Listen If You Are Not Ready) with Julie Lokun23 Aug 202200:04:10

Stressed? Overwhelmed? We all as humans are likely to do the dance with stress and overwhelm. The human experience is not easy.

Deep Breath. It is often so hard to keep going when you get beaten up left and right.

But guess what? You have the choice to do things differently. Every day you have the opportunity to start over. This is the gift that we are given as humans. We get caught up in the minutiae of life. We think that what we are doing is the right thing to do because it is comfortable. Comfort is just like routine. Routine is necessary but it is like living in a comfort zone.

According to the website science of people:

Comfort zone

If you’re starting at ground zero, this is the state you’re in. It feels secure, and you feel in control because you’re familiar with this space and know what to expect.

For instance, eating the same breakfast every morning and denying any other food because it’s not in your routine is a perfect example of staying within your comfort zone.

Learning zone

The learning zone is the cure to the fear zone. As the zone title suggests, this is where you learn about the new endeavor you’re about to engage in and acquire new skills to overcome the challenge.

Obsessed with The Secrets We Keep ft. Charlie Cifarelli04 Aug 202200:33:34

We are constantly evolving and growing day by day. We face many challenges and obstacles in our lives, and sometimes it can feel like we're just trying to survive.

It's been said that we all have two lives. The first life is the one we live until we realize we have a second life. The second life is the one we live after discovering our purpose to lead a fulfilling life.

From Long Island, life dealt Charlie a difficult hand early on. He was born in a position not to succeed and lived a lifetime of secrecy. He worked hard and found success by rising through the ranks in the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services  and then starting his own successful business. Obsessed With Energy Vampires featuring Julie Lokun30 Jul 202200:06:14

Energy Vampires are everywhere. They take and take and take and you are left depleted and exhausted. Today is the day you start saying no to the energy vampires in your lives. You need to take the reigns of your energy and reach out to get poured into it.

Learn About Omega-3s: With Orlo Nutrition

What is an energy vampire? How can you recognize one? Relationships are always an energy exchange. Accoriding to Dr. Judith Orloff, to stay feeling our best, we must ask ourselves: Who gives us energy? Who saps it? It’s important to be surrounded by supportive, heart-centered people who make us feel safe and secure. It’s equally important to pinpoint the energy vampires, who, whether they intend to or not, leech our energy.

Positive energy in others can be rejuvenating. For instance, you’re nervous about a job interview, but the minute you meet your prospective boss you relax. He’s so calm and welcoming, you calm down too. Or perhaps you have a good friend around whom you always feel loved. These energy-givers are people to treasure. The more you surround yourself with positive people, the more you will attract them. In your life, these are people you must gravitate towards. Having a circle of positive people around you can also repel energy vampires. Positive attracts positive. Negative attracts negative. So, your conscious actions in choosing relationships can make a huge difference in your energy level and the quality of your life!

Obsessed With Deathbed Regrets- and Remember You Have A Choice Today with Julie Lokun27 Jul 202200:04:24

Julie had the amazing opportunity to talk with Joe Kenda, the star of Discovery Network's hit television show Homicide Hunter. This got her thinking about the fragility of life. We hope you are inspired by the message she received from a true hero.

Kenda has seen the most unimaginable situations. Kenda has seen the death of the most gruesome ilk. Stress seems diminished when you get out of your own head. There are a lot of bad things that are going on in this world. Understanding that your problems are not as big as the next persons-you can eliminate ruminations and being stuck.

You have a choice in everything you do. Are you making decisions in the alignment of who you want to be and where you want to go? All you have to do is to take action. You are holding yourself back (notwithstanding grief or mental illness).

This is an inspirational minisode that will make you think a little differently about your life. You have a choice. Start talking to yourself differently.

Obsessed With Belief, Grief and Evan Carmichael14 Jul 202200:21:01

There are moments in our lives when we know we are capable of more than we currently do. We have a glimpse of the person we could become if we decide to pursue it. But sometimes, things or events get in the way of our happiness and success.

For Tia, she grieved immensely after her sister's sudden death and felt immense loneliness and disconnection from others. This turned her world inside out and temporarily held her back from becoming what she desires to be. As our guest Evan Carmichael stated, grief is a highly individualized experience, and each person expresses and processes it in their own way and time.

It's not always easy to become who we know we can or want to be. This is a journey that takes time, energy, and courage. We must be willing to put in the hard work and motivation despite the circumstances that come our way. With this, you'll be able to come back with even more fire than before.

Speaking of time, this is the first of a two-part episode featuring Evan as we are very obsessed with him and what he has to share on how we can become the person we want to be!

Evan believes that entrepreneurs can be successful on their own terms. While dealing with some failures and problems, Evan was still able to find success at a young age and now runs a highly successful YouTube channel, is an author of four books, and is recognized by Forbes as a renowned speaker on leadership and social media. Evan is working to solve the world's biggest problem of people not believing in themselves enough through good karma projects and initiatives that have the potential to impact a billion people.

Are you a rule follower? Is your love for rules allowing you to like a maverick mindset? #breaktherules Inspired by the movie Top Gun and the mindset of Maverick-this is the tools you need to live an unorthodox life.

How can we, as humans up our game with emotional integrity? Quite simply it is to take calculated risks and be authentic. Ask yourself- are feeling burnout from doing everything and nothing is happening? If the answer is yes, listen on. Personal and professional satisfaction starts with self-awareness. Life satisfaction starts and begins with living an unorthodox life.

Building your personal or professional brand begins on a journey of discovery.

The Maverick-Inspired tips to holistic growth:

Tip #1: The Mission

First and foremost, our favorite tool is writing a mission statement. There is profound power in seeing the foundation of your vision and values scrawled on paper. A mission statement cannot simply be written and read.

Your mission statement needs to be lived.

A mission statement needs to articulate why you exist, what you stand for and the goals you strive for. On paper, your mission statement is powerful. However, inaction nullifies your mission. A mission statement is only powerful when you take inspired action.

I am obsessed with the power of a mission statement. It can be a confusing exercise in putting pen to paper-so I often recommend Franklin Covey's Mission Statement Builder. This mission statement builder is easy to follow and prompts you with questions to curate a statement that reflects where you are and where you want to go.

For more about living a maverick mindset listen to our episode on The Mediacasters featuring Garry E. Hall!

Post Script:

We just had the opportunity to interview the original Maverick, helicopter pilot, and really nice human and family man, Rear Admiral Garry E. Hall. Garry served as the national security advisor to the president and has a podcast called Admiral's Almanac. Garry embodies the gusto of Maverick and stays rooted in his mission. Obsessed With The Power of The Enneagram Personal Assessment Tool09 Jun 202200:47:04

What is the Enneagram?

Truity.com explains:

According to the Enneagram, each of the nine personality types is defined by a particular core belief about how the world works. This core belief drives your deepest motivations and fears — and fundamentally shapes a person's worldview and the perspective through which they see the world and the people around them.

Our core beliefs are not necessarily incorrect, but they can be limiting and operate as “blinders” for people. Understanding our Enneagram type and how it colors our perceptions can help us to broaden our perspective and approach situations more effectively.

Understanding a person's Enneagram type helps us to see why they behave the way they do. Each Enneagram type has a set of core beliefs that will consistently motivate them to take particular actions and guide them to make certain decisions. Behavior that may seem confusing or contradictory can often be explained when we understand a person's Enneagram type.

The Enneagram also helps us understand how people react to stress. By describing how each Enneatype adapts and responds to both stressful and supportive situations, the Enneagram shows opportunities for personal development and provides a foundation for the understanding of others

What is the enneagram?

According to Truity.com: The Enneagram is a system of personality typing that describes patterns in how people interpret the world and manage their emotions. The Enneagram describes nine personality types and maps each of these types on a nine-pointed diagram which helps to illustrate how the types relate to one another.

Check out Truity.com for a free personality assessment and let us know what you think!

Obsessed With Living A Fairytale: Lessons Learned From Princess Diana06 Jun 202200:07:28

Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee this week inspired this story of a lesson learned about the fairytale we are all hoping to live. Inspired by the life of Princess Diana, Jules takes a trip down memories lane as we revisit the fairytale wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles. The story of a Princess who believed in her fairytale. The tragedy of Princess Diana is one engrained in history forever.

We all have a story within us. What is that story and where does this story come from? Do you know you are meant for more? Exploring your story and the narrative you tell yourself is a powerful way to navigate your real-life story. This is the season of weddings which spurs hope and love. This season of festivity promises a happily ever after. Yet, often the hope and promise of a fairytale can be the one only the Grimm Brothers could create.

We make exceptions for the pain we suffer. The beauty of our stories is in the devastation of our stories and how we pick ourselves up and the lessons we learn from pain.

Get obsessed with your fairytale. Get obsessed with your life. We all have the power to live a life of our powerful fairytale-- in accordance with reality?

Obsessed With Understanding Grief ft. Heidi Dunstan04 Jun 202200:29:36

In this episode, Heidi Dunstan talks about how to deal with grief and help somebody grieving.

She talks about why grief is love and why grieving should never be done alone by someone in grief. Many times, grief is love. They have to find a new way to love their person.

Heidi Dunstan is a grief advocate and educator. Her passion for helping others learn more about grief, and how to support others who are grieving came after losing her husband unexpectedly almost 3 years ago. Obsessed with Radical Acceptance ft. Jen Aks-Neuman (The Brené Brown Inspired Series)02 Jun 202200:21:28

Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), stated that:

“The heart of compassion is really acceptance. The better we are at accepting ourselves and others, the more compassionate we become.”

In today's times, women of all ages and backgrounds are speaking up and taking the lead. This newfound power leads to great strides in both our personal and professional lives, but it doesn't come easy. For many women, self-acceptance is an ongoing journey that requires resilience in the face of countless setbacks.

Women often feel like they're not good enough, whether it's their appearance, intelligence, or ability to do things "right." This can lead to a lot of self-judgment and anxiety. For our guest, Jen Aks-Neuman, it is time for women to break the mold and achieve radical acceptance of themselves.

Jen is a documentarian and embodiment coach who founded herStories in response to the pandemic as a way to help Womxn tell their stories of resilience. Her mission is to shift the mindset of humanity, one story at a time. She has combined her 30+ years of movement practices, photography, editing, speaking, and directing to curate The herStories Collection, producing close to 100 documentaries since the pandemic began.

These are meant to educate, inspire, empower and open our hearts and minds to what is possible, helping Womxn unlock emotions that have provided breakthroughs and new perspectives about who they are and what is possible in their lives. This movement has crossed three oceans and four seas, landed in five countries, and has impacted countless Womxn worldwide to help them find radical acceptance for themselves and humanity.

Obsessed with Understanding Shame ft. Elvira Hopper (The Brené Brown Inspired Series)19 May 202200:28:33

What is shame?

Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defined shame as:

The intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love, belonging, and connection. It thrives on secrecy, silence, and judgment, [growing] exponentially into every corner and crevice of our lives.

Shame is an often overlooked and misunderstood emotion. Many people do not realize that shame is actually one of the most damaging emotions and can lead to many other problems such as depression, addiction, and eating disorders.

In addition, it is an emotion that most people try to avoid. Unfortunately, this often leads to a cycle of shame in which people feel guilty or embarrassed about their actions and then feel ashamed of themselves for feeling those emotions. But, as our guest Elvira Hopper shares with us today, there are ways to break the cycle of shame and start working towards recovery.

Elvira talks about living out of alignment with shame for decades in this episode. With her hopes and dreams of being a jazz singer curtailed by her parents' expectations for her, she pursued an inauthentic 6 figure, award-winning medical and Big Pharma career for three decades. While lucrative, this led to several problems, affecting her marriage and life, before she was miraculously gifted with a fast and natural way out of her darkness.

Elvira fused her love for performing musically with her healing abilities. She became a coach, sacred sound healer, and professional jazz artist she always was at the ripe sweet age of 51, working and recording on world-class jazz stages with Juno award-winning artists.  Her mission is to help co-create heaven on earth by helping heart-centered humans live aligned, authentic & fully self-expressed through her The Love Your Vibe Transformation.

What You Will Learn From This Episode

00:00 - The idea of shame

07:38 - Elvira's experiences with shame

10:11 - Feeling like an imposter and being out of alignment

15:03 - Breaking free from shame

18:04 - Tools for personal development and growth

Obsessed With This Life Hack That Will Change Your Life ft. Julie Lokun18 May 202200:03:37

This is the one hack that can change the way you navigate life. In this minisode of Obsessed listen to Jules explain how you can deal with life's biggest challenges. If you are navigating parenting or a difficult relationship or career upset-listen to today's episode of the #obsessedpodcast.

We have no control in life. Period. As humans, we think we have control. We want to have control over our relationships, our careers and our kids. And when we are met with drama or trauma, we have the choice to react. This is the one thing we have control over. We have the power to navigate our reactions.

Breaking down this relatively simple concept into small, bite-size pieces will make it easier to digest the overall profundity of the 3 words. Understanding that you have the innate choice of how you respond to and process a situation can shift a bad day at the office to a productive day learning how to nuance challenging conversations with colleagues. (LIFE SKILL--SCORE) With a snap of the fingers- you can go from having a bad day at work to a day of personal growth.

EXAMPLE 1: UNDERSTANDING WHAT A NEUTRAL EVENT IS AND HOW TO REFRAME THIS EVENT
* A neutral event is just that. Neutral. One without meaning. We as humans attach our own meaning to these neutral events. What if we have the power to actually change the meaning of an event?

The Obsessed Hosts LOVE the works of Victor Frankl. His book "Man's Search For Meaning" is a must-read.

The one thing you can’t take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me. The last of one’s freedoms is to choose one’s attitude in any given circumstance.” Viktor E. Frankl

Lessons From The Masters:One of our lessons learned was about grief. Grief is a lesson these obsessed girls have met in the past year and we believe Heidi Dunstan was put into our lives for a reason.

Heidi Dunstan: Grief Advocate and Leader in Loss.

Heidi has taught us a new narrative when talking to someone who is experiencing loss. Loss can look like death, a job loss, a breakup, or even something transitional like a move. Heidi lost her husband, unexpectedly the day before her 40th birthday and is now a warrior in grief awareness. Heidi taught me what matters most is that you are there for your person. Loss is triggering for us, and often we are immobilized and unable to find the right words to comfort those closest to us.

Just being there is often enough.

Manifest Money and Success With The Law of Attraction ft. Stephanie Keith23 May 202400:31:55

Navigating the Realms of Motherhood, Entrepreneurship, and the Law of Attraction

Manifest wealth and success with The Law Of Attraction Tribe Leader, Stephanie Keith.

Learn More Here- Manifest it Now app - Law of Attraction Tribe (thelawofattractiontribe.com)

In the intricate tapestry of modern life, juggling the roles of motherhood, entrepreneurship, and personal growth can feel like traversing uncharted territories. Yet, within these challenges lies a profound opportunity to harness the power of the Law of Attraction—a principle that transcends mere wishful thinking and invites us to co-create our reality through focused intention and aligned action.

Embracing the Law of Attraction:

At its essence, the Law of Attraction asserts that our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions shape the experiences we attract into our lives. By cultivating a positive mindset, visualizing our desired outcomes, and embodying the emotions associated with our goals, we can magnetize opportunities and resources that align with our intentions. This principle underscores the importance of embracing abundance consciousness and trusting in the inherent wisdom of the universe.

Manifesting Wealth and Success:

While the Law of Attraction can be applied to all aspects of life, let's delve into its application in manifesting wealth and success. By setting clear intentions and visualizing financial abundance with clarity and conviction, we can activate the creative power of our subconscious mind to attract opportunities for prosperity. Moreover, understanding the science behind manifestation—how our thoughts influence neural pathways and shape our perception of reality—empowers us to navigate the path to success with confidence and clarity.

Protecting Energy and Boundaries:

As mothers and entrepreneurs, safeguarding our energy and boundaries is paramount to maintaining balance and vitality. The Law of Attraction teaches us the importance of aligning with our authentic desires and honoring our intuition in setting boundaries that serve our highest good. By prioritizing self-care and creating space for introspection and renewal, we can amplify our magnetic presence and attract opportunities that resonate with our soul's purpose.

Adapting to Real-Life Challenges:

In the whirlwind of daily life, unexpected interruptions and setbacks are inevitable. Yet, it's in these moments of adversity that the power of the Law of Attraction truly shines. Rather than succumbing to frustration or resistance, we can choose to see challenges as opportunities for growth and expansion. By maintaining a positive mindset and remaining open to alternative solutions, we can navigate through obstacles with grace and resilience, knowing that every experience serves to deepen our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

Obsessed with Understanding Anger ft. Julie Riga (The Brené Brown Inspired Series)05 May 202200:26:42

What is anger?

Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defined anger as:

An emotion that we feel when something gets in the way of a desired outcome or when we believe there’s a violation of the way things should be.

Anger is a powerful emotion. It can make us feel strong and in control, or it can make us feel out of control and destructive. But whatever kind of anger we feel, one thing is always true: We believe that someone or something else is to blame for the situation and that something can be done about it.

Anger often masks other feelings such as sadness, hurt, or fear. When we're in this mode, it's tough to think straight or have a productive conversation with the person we're angry at. If you're looking for ways to manage your anger better, our close friend Julie Riga is back to share her story and insights!

In this episode, Julie gets to the bottom of what anger really means. Plagued by anger for many years, Julie has a lot to say about how she has learned how to manage anger as a powerful catalyst and/or a life-sucking companion.

Julie Riga, daughter of renowned chef to the stars, Ennio Riga, has over 20 years of experience in the Pharma Industry, which has given her a wealth of knowledge in business, communications, training, and executive coaching.

Aside from being a certified coach, trainer, speaker, and author, she is also the host of the Stay on Course podcast, where she explores different topics in leadership, personal development, connection, and faith.

What You Will Learn From This Episode

03:15 - Being afflicted by anger for a long time

07:31 - Letting the anger dissipate

10:27 - Miserable days of being angry

12:34 - Personal mission statement as your north star

15:14 - Staying on course and getting over one’s anger

Sneak Peek: Obsessed with Begin Again Podcast featuring Sarah Plowman28 Apr 202200:36:32

In our society, we learn from others that our emotions are bad, and we need to tough it out, power through, and be all smiles and sunshine.

We learn to bottle up our emotions, eventually turning into shame or guilt. We don't know how to deal with them, so we shove them away and ignore them until they come back louder than ever before.

Our guest, Sarah Plowman, tells us that emotions exist for a reason: to tell us something important about ourselves and our lives. When we become blocked from our feelings, we might act out in ways harmful to ourselves or others. To understand what they're trying to tell us, Sarah shares with us how to be in touch with our emotions without the need to suppress them.

Sarah is a stay-at-home-mom and a 6-figure business coach who helps people become incredible entrepreneurs, elevating all areas of their lives through being more self-confident, self-assured, and authentic human beings.

Obsessed With Embracing The Vulnerability of Aging ft. Neeahtima Dowdy (and everything in between inspired by Brené Brown)21 Apr 202200:30:09

In this episode of Obsessed, we talk all things, hormones, aging, pregnancy, and everything in between. We are continually inspired by the works of our favorite researcher and badass Brene Brown.

Author and researcher Brene Brown writes, “We associate vulnerability with emotions that we want to avoid such as fear, shame, and uncertainty, yet we often lose sight of the fact that vulnerability is also the birthplace of joy, belonging, creativity, authenticity, and love.”

At 55, Neeahtima Dowdy realized it’s still possible to reinvent herself into the woman of her dreams. And she shares how we can still be confident, fabulous, and powerful regardless of our age in this episode.

Midlife is often viewed as a time when women hit a crossroads. They may start to feel invisible; they are losing their marketable quality, relationships, and professional aspirations.

But more and more women like Neeahtima are choosing to buck the midlife stereotypes and embrace this stage of life. Whether by starting their own businesses, traveling the world, or simply enjoying newfound hobbies and passions, more and more women are redefining what it means to be in this stage of life.

There’s no one right way to approach aging, but women are doing it their way and rocking it. From making lifestyle changes to improving self-confidence, Neeahtima proves that there is no age limit on happiness or success – and she continues to inspire others to do the same. She talks about how she’s thriving in midlife and gives valuable pieces of advice for those who may be feeling stuck.

Neeahtima is the creator and host of We’re Not Dead Yet: Women Rocking their Next Chapter, a YouTube series where she inspires women over 40, 50, 60, and beyond to step out of their comfort zone and reinvent themselves, discover new talents, or find their passion.

Obsessed with Belonging ft. Sedruola Maruska (The Brené Brown Inspired Series)14 Apr 202200:28:51

What is belonging?

Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines belonging as:

A practice that requires us to be vulnerable, get uncomfortable, and learn how to be present with people without sacrificing who we are. We have to belong to ourselves as much as we need to belong to others. Any belonging that asks us to betray ourselves is not true belonging.

We all want to feel like we belong, that we are a part of something. It's a basic human need that drives our social behaviors. We see this in how we form groups, whether at school, at work, or in our communities. A sense of belonging is important because it can help people feel supported and connected to their community. It can also lead to positive emotional states like happiness, satisfaction, and pride.

And when people feel like they don't belong, they often experience loneliness, isolation, and even depression. In order to create a sense of belonging, there is a need to focus on creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable sharing their ideas.

In this episode, our guest Sedruola Maruska shares her story of how she's always putting herself in uncomfortable places to grow as a human being and make connections with people of all cultures. Growing up in different environments shaped her desire to make people feel comfortable and feel like other people want to hear and understand what they're saying.

Sedruola (or Sadie) is a passionate speaker and consultant on accountability, equity, inclusion, and social justice, focusing on cultivating diverse cultures and spaces. Her podcast, Diversity Dish, delves into conversations with marginalized people from all walks of life who share stories of experiencing, overcoming, and finding solutions for discrimination, prejudice, and racism within industries.

What is stress?

Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), says that:

We feel stressed when we evaluate environmental demand as beyond our ability to cope successfully. This includes elements of unpredictability, uncontrollability, and feeling overloaded.

Stress seems to be an inevitable part of our lives. For Dr. Deborah, stress management is essential for everyone because it actually helps build our resilience. She discusses her findings and how we can say goodbye to those negative feelings associated with stress to become stronger and prepared for new challenges, as written in her new book 'From Stressed to Resilient.'

The collective global community has become comfortable with disconnection. How do we get over Covid's hangover and our disconnection?

We are obsessed with Brene Brown and her research on the 30 core emotions--as we are obsessed with her new book Atlas of The Heart.

The Miracle Morning and The Power of Starting Your Day In A Powerful Way with Julie Lokun19 May 202400:06:56

Having a "miracle morning" involves creating a morning routine that sets a positive tone for the rest of your day. Here are some tips to help you establish a powerful and transformative morning routine:

  1. Wake Up Early: Aim to wake up at least an hour before you need to start your day. This quiet time allows you to focus on personal growth and self-care without distractions.
  2. Stay Consistent: Try to wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends. Consistency helps regulate your body’s internal clock and makes it easier to wake up early.
  3. Start with Silence: Begin your morning with a few minutes of silence. This could be meditation, deep breathing, or simply sitting quietly. It helps clear your mind and set a calm tone for the day.
  4. Practice Affirmations: Use positive affirmations to set your intentions for the day. Speak or write down statements that align with your goals and values, reinforcing a positive mindset.
  5. Visualize Your Day: Spend a few minutes visualizing your goals and the day ahead. Imagine yourself achieving your tasks and succeeding in your endeavors, which can boost motivation and confidence.
  6. Exercise: Incorporate some physical activity into your morning routine. This could be a quick workout, yoga, or even a short walk. Exercise boosts your energy levels and enhances mental clarity.
  7. Read or Learn Something New: Dedicate time to reading a book, article, or listening to a podcast. Focus on content that inspires you, expands your knowledge, or aids in personal development.
  8. Write or Journal: Spend a few minutes journaling your thoughts, goals, and reflections. Writing can help clarify your thoughts, process emotions, and track your progress over time.
  9. Hydrate and Eat a Healthy Breakfast: Start your day with a glass of water to rehydrate your body. Follow this with a nutritious breakfast to fuel your body and brain for the day ahead.
  10. Plan Your Day: Take a few minutes to review your to-do list and set priorities. Organize your tasks to ensure you tackle the most important ones first, helping you stay focused and productive.
  11. Avoid Distractions: Keep your morning routine free from distractions like checking emails or social media. Focus on activities that promote personal growth and well-being.
  12. Reflect and Adjust: Regularly review your morning routine to see what’s working and what isn’t. Be open to making adjustments to better suit your evolving needs and goals.

By incorporating these tips into your morning routine, you can create a "miracle morning" that enhances your productivity, positivity, and overall well-being.

Obsessed With Curiosity ft. Corinna Bellizzi (The Brene Brown Inspired Series)01 Apr 202200:27:55

There is nothing worse than a know-it-all, (you know the kind of person that thinks they are correct all of the time). In today's episode, we ask the question: How can I lead my best life by using the power of curiosity? Curiosity is the lynchpin in building creating great leaders, avoiding conflict, and changing the neuroplasticity of our brains. We are joined by the Obsessed bestie, Corinna Bellizzi, who explains how curiosity can solve most of the world's problems.

The #obsessedpodcast is OBSESSED with Brene Brown and her latest book "Atlas of The Heart". Brene defines curiosity as:

Curiosity is the feeling of deprivation we experience when we identify and focus on a gap in our knowledge. •

We need to have some level of awareness and interest in a topic before we become truly curious. •

When we are curious, the brain is primed to learn and retain information.

• Curiosity can be uncomfortable because it requires uncertainty and vulnerability.

• Curiosity is about listening and asking the right questions.

• “Tell me more” is a great curiosity rumble tool.

• In the context of solving problems, failure to be curious results in poor solutions. Curiosity means focusing on the nature of the problem before even considering a solution.

• Curiosity and knowledge-building grow together—the more we know, the more we want to know.

Obsessed with Vulnerability ft. Rev. Leslie Peters, RN (The Brené Brown Inspired Series)17 Mar 202200:32:49

What is vulnerability?

Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines and describes vulnerability as:

The emotion that we experience during times of uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure.

In our culture, we tend to equate vulnerability with weakness. We see it as a character flaw, something to be ashamed of and hidden away. But, vulnerability is, in fact, a sign of courage. It takes great courage to reveal our authentic selves to others, open ourselves up and be vulnerable. We tap into a wellspring of love and connection that allows us to form meaningful relationships when we do so.

In this episode, Rev. Leslie Peters is here to share how she was able to see her authentic self through vulnerability. The abuse and neglect she experienced throughout her life left her feeling disconnected. This led her to a lifelong practice to give others what she needed.

Uncovering the true meaning of love through her practice, Rev. Leslie felt the need to release her ‘armor,’ allowing herself to step into her courage, live with an open heart, and find power in vulnerability. For Rev. Leslie, being vulnerable is also the ability to stand and own your truth regardless of the consequences.

Rev. Leslie, the Heart Nurturer, has been helping people for 32 years. She is a registered nurse, an ordained minister, a trauma and resilience expert, and a transformational conversationalist. She is on a mission to create a safe space for trauma survivors to unapologetically see, accept, and reconnect with their true selves.
