People have always made music. They've also been making music about all kinds of 'taboo' or 'inappropriate' subject matter. Some are just better at cleverly hiding it, or working it in with wordplay and innuendo. From folks burning records in the 60s, to music censorship, radio edits, and the explicit content label. There has been a battle over 'decency' in music for years. I find it hilarious that some of the people that make the biggest stink about it (Music kids listen to to these days is just plain disgusting!) often have a library of songs they love that probably have some darker meanings they don't even know about.
