Diversity - hot topic or over used word? Whatever your view on this, so many of us are guilty of hiring who we know. It’s hard to disagree with Lee when he says we all need to build more diverse networks. Here’s the key takeaways and book recommendation: Key takeaways · Widen your circle and diversify your network · Be proactive so when it is hiring time you are starting with a more diverse pool of talent · Think about culture add – even if hiring through traditional means. Paul shares how there is such little difference between technology offerings from tech companies in the same category and how aligning and motivating the troops is the key to success. In a nutshell it is all about speed to market. This is a not to be missed episode. “Tech is very mainstream now. We are no longer mystified by technology … Tech companies are always fighting in a time-based competition . . . Nowadays there’s not more than 10 cent worth of difference in tech in the same category. How you take things to market is just as important as what things you’re taking to market. How you’re organising your troops inside the company is even more important than it was previously.”
