WE WANNA ROCK! And this week, we've got a little help from an actual rock legend to make it happen!
Mike and Joe are back, and we're cranking the volume ALL the way up for Rock Like Dee, an absolutely killer celebration of 80s rock and metal featuring some of the most awesome performances from the Friday Night Karaoke community!
And this isn't just any theme week. Dee Snider himself, the legendary frontman of Twisted Sister, kicked things off with a personal video challenging our FNK family to get loud, get proud, and bring back that rebellious spirit of 80s rock! More than 200 members answered the call, and holy cow, did they deliver!
We've got everything from power ballads and arena rock to heavy metal and some seriously unexpected rock stars. Plus, Dee comes back at the end of the episode to congratulate our Theme of the Week winner and offer some actual rock star advice. How freaking cool is that?!
Featured Performances:
Scott Clarke - "The Price" by Twisted Sister How else do you kick off a Dee Snider episode than with an incredible Twisted Sister power ballad? Scott absolutely crushed this one, and Mike and Joe couldn't decide what they loved more - the vocals, that ridiculously awesome braided beard, or the collection of Star Wars characters hanging out behind him. We're still waiting for the Yoda version, Scott!
Kristie Winn - "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi One of Mike's all-time favorite Bon Jovi songs, and Kristie absolutely did it justice! Her voice had the guys talking about everything from goosebumps to how awesome she'd sound singing country music. Plus, this is one of those songs where the whole karaoke bar joins in, and that's what karaoke is all about!
Dong Nabram - "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey Taking on Steve Perry is no joke, but Dong stepped up and freaking NAILED it! Joe was so into this performance that he actually messaged Mike in the middle of the song to turn their cameras back on because he couldn't stop singing along. Seriously, this is the kind of performance that makes us love karaoke so much.
Jeff Matusicky - "Breaking the Law" by Judas Priest Jeff brings some serious metal to the party, complete with sirens that had Mike wondering whether the Japanese police were coming back to complain about his volume! Between Jeff's killer performance and a completely unnecessary discussion about beard envy, this one went exactly as far off the rails as you'd expect from Mike and Joe.
Bonnie Richelle - "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses HOLY CRAP, BONNIE! Apparently, this was the ONLY rock and roll song Bonnie had ever recorded, and Mike and Joe were having absolutely none of that. With that voice?! Are you kidding?! From the vocals to the air guitar and air drums, Bonnie completely owned this song. We're officially requesting a whole lot more rock and roll from her!
Amanda Lynn - "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne All aboard! Amanda took on an Ozzy classic by request, and the guys loved how she started a little reserved before building into an absolute powerhouse performance. By the time she hit her stride, there was no stopping her. Mike and Joe both agreed that this one just kept getting better and better. Freaking awesome!
Rick Mendoza - "You May Be Right" by Billy Joel Okay, Billy Joel might not be the first name that comes to mind when you think 80s metal, but Mike insisted this one belonged in the lineup, and Rick proved him absolutely right! Between the KISS shirt, denim vest, guitars on the wall, and pure rock star attitude, Rick somehow managed to be one of the most metal guys in the entire episode. And he crushed the song, too!
Edmond Themeli - "Danger on the Track" by Europe Our Rock Like Dee Theme of the Week WINNER, and man, what a way to close out the show! Mike and Joe were blown away by Edmond's vocals, even saying he could easily pass for the actual frontman of an 80s rock band. But the best part? Dee Snider personally watched Edmond's performance and called his vocals impeccable! He even shared some insider rock star wisdom about 80s "happy metal" and gave Edmond a few pointers on taking his stage presence to the next level. Seriously, getting vocal coaching from Dee Snider? That's freaking awesome.
This episode is everything we love about Friday Night Karaoke. Incredible singers, people stepping way outside their comfort zones, a whole lot of laughs, and a community that just loves making music together.
And having Dee Snider himself get involved, celebrate our members, and remind everyone that just getting up there and singing is something worth being proud of? That makes this one pretty damn special.
So turn it up, throw up those rock horns, and get ready to ROCK LIKE DEE!

It's Episode 77Β of the Friday Night Karaoke Podcast, and the theme was That's Deep, Bro!
This week,Β Mike and Joe go a little deeperΒ than usual with an episode built around songs thatΒ mean something more. Some of these picks have hidden meaning baked right into the lyrics. Some clearly hit on a more personal level for the singer. Either way, this one is full ofΒ songs that make you stop, listen a little closer, andΒ feel something. It is still FNK, so even with all the depth, it staysΒ fun,Β honest, and full ofΒ personality. You get big voices, great song choices, some unexpected moments, and the kind of conversations that remind you why this group works so well in the first place.Β These are not just people singing songs. These are people connecting to them.
Featured performances
Marc CrossΒ withΒ HurtΒ byΒ Nine Inch Nails / Johnny Cash A killer way to open the show. Mike and Joe both really leaned into how heavy this song already is, then talked about how wild it is that Marc made them want to go back and listen to all three versions all over again. That is a huge compliment. He did not just cover it. He put himself right into it.
Bonnie RichelleΒ withΒ How Deep Is Your LoveΒ byΒ Bee Gees This one landed exactly the way it needed to. The guys called out how well Bonnie layers and harmonizes with herself, but what really made it stand out was how naturally the whole thing unfolded. It was not just four boxes on a screen. It felt arranged. It felt built. And it sounded great.
This episode is a good reminder that karaoke is not always just about hitting the note or picking the crowd-pleaser.Β The one that means something. The one that carries a little extra weight.Β

Daniel Kreitz β βSantaβs Gone Wildβ (Original Song)A standout moment in the episode. Danielβs original Christmas song tells a hilarious and vivid story about a runaway inflatable Santa. Rick MendozaΒ withΒ 99Β byΒ Toto One of those picks that perfectly fits the theme because it is not the obvious Toto song everyone expects. Mike flat-out said he did not think he had ever heard it before, which made Rick's choice even better. Then the song ends and just keeps ending forever, which turned into one of the funniest parts of the episode.
Angel LarkΒ withΒ At 17Β byΒ Janis Ian A deep cut in every sense. Neither Mike nor Joe seemed to know the song going in, which made it feel even more like a discovery. It fits the theme perfectly too - reflective, personal, and loaded with the kind of meaning that sneaks up on you.
Nancy Van EindhovenΒ withΒ Love HurtsΒ byΒ Nazareth This was one of those "okay, wow" performances. Mike and Joe both talked about how strong her voice is, especially the way she moves naturally between softer phrasing and those bigger, more powerful notes. And yes, they did eventually spell out why the song is deep - because it throws away the fairy tale version of love and says the real thing can hurt.
Kristie WinnΒ withΒ Time After TimeΒ byΒ Cyndi Lauper A brand new voice to the podcast, and she absolutely made it count. The acoustic setup instantly won both Mike and Joe over, and from there it turned into one of those performances that feels intimate in the best way. Honest, stripped down, and really, really good.
Sandy HernandezΒ withΒ A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit YouΒ byΒ The Monkees Sandy totally understood the assignment on this one. What made this performance stand out on the show was not just the song, but the fact that Sandy actually explained why it mattered - from loving it as a kid on The Monkees to realizing later that it had more going on underneath, and then finding out Neil Diamond wrote it. That made it hit even harder.
Mario RiveraΒ withΒ Hey YouΒ byΒ Pink Floyd A strong closer and a perfect "deep" pick. Mike set it up by saying Pink Floyd basically owns this kind of theme, and Joe pointed out that the huge reverb actually made sense for the song. Afterward, Mike called it what it is - a desperate cry for human connection in an isolated world. Deep, bro. Very deep.
Sometimes it is about picking the song that says something.Β
And this lineup absolutely brought that.

Nancy Van EindhovenΒ - βThe Final Countdownβ (Europe): Mike sets it up as the perfect countdown energy (even if youβre recording a few days late), then you both rave about her power and presence - the kind that makes you sing along even if youβve heard the song a million times.
Rick MendozaΒ - βAround and Aroundβ (The Rolling Stones): Timeless, classic, and somehow βElvis-yβ in the best way. The vibe sends the conversation straight into retro rock-and-roll territory and Mikeβs excitement about a 50s-style night in Orlando.
Mike WistonΒ - βSuck My Kissβ (Red Hot Chili Peppers): βMy podcast, my prerogativeβ energy. Mike frames it as his personal 2026 welcome song, shouts out seeing RHCP live in Tokyo, and you keep the momentum ripping toward the back half of the episode.
AnnastaisyarΒ - βCrazy Trainβ (Ozzy Osbourne): A live-bar recording with that real karaoke-room electricity. Mike and Joe both point out you canβt stand still on a song like this - and you give her big credit for fully getting into it and bringing serious vocals.
Katie RoseΒ - βI Like It Heavyβ (Halestorm): Pure βturn it up past 10β payoff. The hosts both react to the whole vibe (including the gritty video look) and the massive ending - and you even accidentally label it βGood to Be Aliveβ for a second, which honestly becomes the perfect accidental motto for this episode.
Β loud, fun, and together.

Heather Gurnari β βThe Chimney Songβ by Bob Rivers A comedic show-stealer. Heather completely transforms her voice, leaving both hosts stunned. They highlight her vocal range, character work, and how unrecognizable she is compared to her usual serious singing style.
Patrick Holstein β βDominick the Donkeyβ by Lou Monte Pure nostalgia and crowd-pleasing fun. Mike and Joe talk about how this is the kind of song that would instantly turn a karaoke bar into a full-room singalong, and how Patrickβs version captures that energy perfectly.
Joe Rubin β βLet It Snowβ by Dean Martin Closing the episode on a smooth, classic note, Joe brings crooner vibes and a relaxed, fireside feel. Mike openly praises the performance as a textbook example of smart karaoke song selection and delivery.
