Hotels - "Horror Hotel" & "Motel Hell"
03 Oct 2025
01:17:53
Ding ding - we're checking in. And what's this? Oh, it's a spooky hotel.
Nothing worse than pulling up to your bed for the night and finding it's actually home to a witch looking for sacrifices. Except maybe being buried neck-deep in soil and having your meat harvested for sale...
Horror Hotel and Motel Hell are our picks this week, and hoo boy I don't think I'll be checking in to anywhere other than a Premier Inn for a while.

Remakes - "The Wolfman" & "Flatliners"
26 Sep 2025
01:38:49
Reboots, Remakes, Requels - whatever you want to call them - they're divisive. And this week's picks are no different.
We talk about 2012's The Wolfman, weighing it up against Lon Cheney Jr's spectacular Universal flick. Followed by Flatliners, a remake of a film we have already covered - so you can hear some proper callbacks of how it compares.

Cemeteries - "House by the Cemetery" & "Cemetery Man"
19 Sep 2025
01:11:50
It's another spooky staple this week - Cemeteries! (not graveyards and yes, there is a difference)
Up first, we have another Giallo with Lucio Fulci's House by the Cemetery, and following it with the slightly(!) more comedic Cemetery Man. Zombies, graves, and plenty of gore. What more could you ask for?

Telephones - "Murder by Phone" & "One Missed Call"
13 Sep 2025
01:05:42
Ring ring - who is it? It's ya boys, back with another horror movie double bill.
This week, we're taking a look at one of the oldest horror movie tropes - the dreaded phone call. Murder by Phone takes this all too literally in an 80s B-Movie with one of the more ridiculous premises we've covered. Then we follow it up with One Missed Call, a J-Horror classic that may not be perfect, but runs absolute circles around it's Western remake.

Oscar Winners - "Jaws" & "Alien"
05 Sep 2025
02:01:15
It's Oscar season baybee!! Or at least it was when we recorded this...
Couple of out and out bangers to talk about this week. Jaws certainly makes a splash, but how do we feel it compares to peak sci-fi horror with Alien? Oh, it's a good 'un, and do we possibly hit our first full-mark episode?

Historicals - "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" & "Brotherhood of the Wolf"
22 Aug 2025
01:04:01
We're going back in time!
That's right, this week, we're taking a look at a couple of "real life" historical horrors. The Town That Dreaded Sundown is *supposedly* based on a real story, but that doesn't stop it being a real piece of poo-poo. And in Brotherhood of the Wolf, we're going even further back to 17th century France for some lupine goodness with the Iron Chef himself.
From trombones to kung-fu fights, there's lots of weirdness to discuss this week.

Celebrity - "Opera" & "Smile 2"
15 Aug 2025
01:20:16
Get your flashing cameras and autograph books out, we're chasing celebrities today!
In a case of celebrity stalking gone horribly wrong, Opera delivers us another Argento banger. Will it dethrone Deep Red as our favourite?
And next up is Smile 2, one of Fraser's favourites from 2024. But does Euan see the vision, or write it off as more modern-horror guff? Why not listen and find out?

Best Soundtrack 2 - "Halloween III" & "Annihilation"
09 Aug 2025
01:22:31
Ohhhh boy, we're back again. After a bit of a hiatus, we've returned from the depths to chuck our 2 cents in on some more spooky flicks.
This week, it's back to another 'sequel' theme with more Best Sountracks! We've got some old bangers from the goat John Carpenter with Halloween 3, and then we follow it up with some ambient synths in Annihilation.
Glad to be back. Glad to be talking more spooky music. Hope you enjoy, folks!

Carnivals - "Carnival of Souls" and "Something Wicked This Way Comes"
11 Oct 2024
01:01:44
It's still October (a rare month for boys), and that means that we're continuing our month long Halloween Spook-tacular. This week we're discussing another classic staple of the Halloween Experience, the Carnival!
Euan's gone for a classic, as always, in Carnival of Souls, a very spooky and atmospheric film
And Fraser's chosen the Disney adaptation of Ray Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes", which is equally spooky and atmospheric!

Sweet Treats - "The Stuff" and "Candy Corn"
05 Oct 2024
01:09:50
It's the most wonderful time of the year, boils and ghouls. And we're kicking off our annual 4 week long Halloween spook-tacular with a special about some devilishly delicious sweet treats!
In Euan's Choice, "The Stuff", we get some semi-sentient evil ice cream.
And In Fraser's Choice, "Candy Corn", we get what could possibly be mistaken for a horror film.

Monkeys - "Murders in the Rue Morgue" & "Monkey Shines"
30 Sep 2024
01:12:56
It's time. for. Monkeys!!!
That's right, this is a horror podcast after all, and what's scarier than a monkey?
Okay, we know it seems like a bit of a silly theme, but monkeys have shown up in horror films from alllll the way back in the early 20th century. And one of our picks this episode is one of the earliest - an "adaptation" of Murders in the Rue Morgue by Poe. I say adaptation; other than a monkey, and some murders, there really aren't many similarities.
Then we have a bit more of a depressing, supernatural, slasher(?) in Monkey Shines. When a runner suffers a tragic accident and is assigned a helper monkey, chaos ensues.

Religious Horror - "The Wicker Man" & "The Exorcism"
23 Sep 2024
01:18:45
It's a real battle of old vs new in this one.
We take The Wicker Man, possibly *the* quintessential religious horror film and pit it against ... 2024's The Exorcism...
Safe to say we could have guessed what came out on top here without even watching the films, but if you want to hear us ripping this dogshit pseudo-successor to The Exorcist, you're not gonna want to miss this.

Friday the 13th: "Friday the 13th: The New Blood" & "Behind the Mask - The Rise of Leslie Vernon"
14 Sep 2024
01:06:05
Ohhh baby, this is like our Christmas. Except it comes around every 6 months or so...
It's Friday the 13th! And that means we're talking about the franchise, or adjacent films. Euan's pick is perhaps an under-appreciated entry to the series - Part 7: The New Blood. Following a bottled deal to have a Carrie crossover, we're introduced to a new protagonist in the series, with sexy, supernatural results.
Then we're looking at a wonderful satire of not only Friday the 13th, but all 80s slashers - Behind the Mask. A criminally unknown mockumentary following an aspiring serial killer, this horror-comedy is a love letter to dedicated fans of the genre.

Aussie Horror - "The Howling 3" & "The Tunnel"
09 Sep 2024
01:11:07
G'day mates. Time to chuck another shrimp on the barbie and join us for a considerably less stereotyped episode than this description would suggest.
Aussie's have been making waves in the world of horror in recent years, so we thought we'd honour that with one of their first "big" hits, The Howling part 3, and following that, we're checking out one of Fraser's favourites - The Tunnel.

Hall of Fame pt. 2: Robert Englund - "The Mangler" & "Nightmare on Elm Street 2"
17 Aug 2024
01:01:05
It's part two of our Holywood Walk of Fame specials. This time, it's none other than Freddy Krueger himself, Mr Robert Englund.
We tried to broaden our horizons by starting with one of his lesser known films, The Mangler - also starring Silence of the Lamb's Ted Levine - but this may have been a calculated misstep. But if you like haunted laundry machines that eat people, boy do we have a film for you!
Thankfully, Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge takes us back to the Robert Englund we know best, and with some unsubtle gay undertones to the film, we're know we're in for a good time.

Hall of Fame: John Carpenter - "Eyes of Laura Mars" & "Firestarter"
17 Aug 2024
00:53:36
Part 1 of our Holywood Walk of Fame special!
In honour of two of our horror idols rightfully making their way onto Holywood Boulevard, we're watching some hidden gems from their backlog. Or at least, that was the idea...
This week, it's John Carpenter, and we're watching The Eyes of Laura Mars, a lesser known, Giallo-inspired thriller, and one of John Carpenter's first directed feature films.
Then we watched Firestarter. I have nothing good to say about this film, other than Carpenter's soundtrack. But you can enjoy us slating it!

Donald Sutherland - "Dr Terror's House of Horrors" & "Fallen"
02 Aug 2024
01:17:50
In this week's special memorial episode, we're honouring one of the greats - Mr Donald Sutherland. A man who left his mark on the horror world with one of the all-time greatest performances in Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
But our picks for this week honour some of his lesser known performances in horror films. Dr Terror's House of Horrors, the first Amicus anthology film, and Fallen, a supernatural thriller with a stellar line-up.
We hope you enjoy, and remember to point and scream at your loved ones in his honour.

Queer Horror 2 - "We're All Going to the World's Fair" & "Hellraiser"
19 Jul 2024
01:22:08
Happy (belated) Pride month all you gays and gals!
This week, we're honouring another couple of horror films featuring or created by LGBT+/Queer creators.
We're All Going to the World's Fair is the debut feature film from Jane Schoenbrun, a non-binary creator who shot onto the scene with this creepy and unique take on internet horror and what it can do to a struggling teen.
We follow that up with Hellraiser (2022). A requel, featuring a whole new cast of Cenobites, including the trans woman Jamie Clayton as Pinhead. She does a fantastic job, and while the film might not hit the same marks as the original, it's certainly an entertaining watch.

Food - "Delicatessen" & "Fresh"
21 Jun 2024
01:17:33
Food, glorious food.
You like cannibalism? I hope so, because we got a cannibalism double bill this week. Intentionally or not, horror films about food do tend to veer into the old long pig.
Starting with a debatable "horror", Delicatessen, we go to post-apocalyptic France and see how an apartment building tries to survive. Weird. Very weird.
Then it's onto "Fresh". A disturbing look at how dating can end with a charming stranger.

Roger Corman - "Frankenstein Unbound" & "Attack of the 50ft Cheerleader"
14 Jun 2024
01:15:56
How best to honour the late, great Roger Corman than by watching a couple of horror films?
By no means the best director in the world, but an influence to many across the entertainment industry, and he gives us a couple of gems like Frankenstein Unbound and "giantess cheerleader gets naked and fights a giant spider". Truly magnificent.

Cryptids - "The Mothman Prophecies" & "Antlers"
31 May 2024
01:30:08
Oh Cryptids, Cryptids, Cryptids. How you have enriched our lives with tales of wonderous monsters and urban legends.
Just a shame that the depictions of them in these films prove to be less-than-legendary.
Not even Laura Linney can save us from a "bold" retelling of the Mothman legacy. And not even Jesse Plemons can save us from the little-bit-kinda-racist use of the Wendigo.
Disappointing watches, but we had fun laughing about them!

Dark Fantasy - "Nightbreed" & "The Lighthouse"
10 May 2024
01:43:58
Weee-ohhhh. Hear that? It's the sound a foghorn warning you to keep away from our silly banter.
Yes, it's a bit of Dark Fantasy this week. Sadly, a difficult one to define when it comes to horror, but nonetheless we've done our best to pick out a couple of bangers for you.
Starting with a bit of Clive Barker, we visit Midian and get up close and personal with the Night Breed. Then, we're off to the high seas to join Pattinson and Defoe in a nightmarish hellscape of gulls and hentai.

Aliens - "Quatermass and the Pit" & "Nope"
06 May 2024
01:36:35
Ooooh, it's a spooky, spacey adventure this week.
A long time coming in covering one of the staples of horror - Aliens!
A couple of solid picks this week too. Quatermass and the Pit was one of both of our first introductions into sci-fi, and Nope proved to be an instant classic as well. Comparing old and new, big budget vs low budget, but both incredible films. Enjoy!

Early 80s Slashers - "Pieces" & "The Burning"
26 Apr 2024
01:15:10
We're going back to the future in this one! Well, back to the past but roughly the time when Back to the Future came out so...
You know what I was trying to do.
Anyway, Pieces! The Burning! A couple of classics from the time of the rise of slasher films. We can definitely see not only their inspirations, but what they went on to inspire. The 80s were an interesting time to be a horror fan (or so I'm told), so let's appreciate it in all it's campy glory!

Found Footage - "[REC]" and "Exists"
14 Apr 2024
01:22:43
Ooooooooh this is a good one, folks.
We all know Fraser loves a Found Footage film - but sadly he didn't bring the sauce this week. I think we managed to find the only universe where a found footage Bigfoot horror film turns out to be the most tedious and lackluster 90 minutes imaginable.
However, Euan's pick this week didn't disappoint. A first time watch for him, [REC] takes us to the midnight streets of Barcelona and gives us one hell of a real-time zombie thrill.
There's some ups and theres some downs, and I think that pretty much defines the found footage genre to a T.

Transformation - "Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde" & "Raw"
29 Mar 2024
01:33:04
We're transforming from brothers who have not watched Raw to those who have. And oh boy was it a fun (?) watch.
But first, we're going back to the early 20th century for some classic horror with Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. A surprising watch, in the best possible way, and a film that paved the way for many films and comics to come.
And Raw. Raw. The less said about Raw, the better. Just watch it and enjoy the French gore at it's finest.

Lovecraft - "From Beyond" & "The Void"
15 Mar 2024
01:15:51
Let's celebrate a dead racist!
That's right, it's Lovecraft's death-day, and what better way to celebrate than watching some Eldritch horrors from beyond (ha).
You like seeing Ken Foree in his tight, wet briefs? We sure did! All that and more in From Beyond - a direct adaptation from a 7-page Lovecraft short story. There's no way that could be mis-represented, is there?
Also, The Void. Triangles and shit. Please listen so we can cover more Shudder films and get a spon.

Meta Horror - "Fade to Black" & "Funny Games"
11 Mar 2024
01:23:39
We've hit a milestone this week - it's the first episode where Fraser has been humbled and thoroughly regrets his choice.
I don't know if you're aware of Funny Games... but don't watch it. Just, don't. I know you think you can handle it, that you're better than everyone that came before you, but you're not. We are forever scarred...
Also, we watch Fade to Black and a guy dresses up as a cowboy and shoots his bullies.
We've had tonal whiplash all over the board this week.

Schools - "Phenomena" & "The Faculty"
01 Mar 2024
01:22:38
Hell yeah, baby, time to go back to school!!
Two schools this week; a Swiss boarding school with plenty of bugs, murder, and monkeys; and an all-American high school with alien parasites and Clea DuVall.
Both Phenomena and The Faculty are well-regarded in their own right, despite their varying quality. But one thing's for sure, we were not bored watching either one.

Rappers - "Bones" & "Thir13en Ghosts"
16 Feb 2024
01:21:23
It's time for some D-O-Double G in a 2000s H-O-Double R-O-R film.
That's right, this week, we're taking a look at some horror films featuring rappers. In Bones, Snoop Dogg takes centre stage as a wronged money-man out for revenge on those who caused his demise. Is it as silly as it sounds? You betcha.
Then we're diving into one of the most 2000s horror films to exist - Thirteen Ghosts. This epileptic nightmare has some of the best and unique creature designs we've seen, but is that enough to save the movie?
Also, if you do happen to be watching along with us - **Serious Epilepsy Warning** for Thirteen Ghosts.

Crossovers - "Alien vs. Predator" & "Lake Placid vs. Anaconda"
09 Feb 2024
01:08:07
It's aliens vs Aliens. Crocodiles vs snakes. Fraser vs Euan.
We're 4 films for the price of 2 this week. Starting with a crossover of 2 beloved Sci-Fi franchises, we get ourselves some neat early-2000s action. Though it's not winning any awards, AvP (as the kids call it) proved to decent entertainment for our Friday night viewing.
Lake Placid vs Anaconda on the other hand... With 2 timeless (!) franchises such as these, can a crossover live up to the hype? Did the box office even cover the CGI budget? Is there a NSFW boobie cut of the film that Fraser missed out on?

Death - "The Sixth Sense" & "Flatliners"

It's a good day to die.
You ever wondered what happens after death? How to reconcile your previously unfinished business? How to accept grief? Well oh boy do we have a double bill for you.
Both Flatliners and The Sixth Sense have some surprising similarities, beyond that of their themes surrounding death. Though they might vary in quality in a lot of areas, there is definitely something to love in each of them.

Clowns - "All Hallow's Eve" & "Killer Klowns from Outer Space"
05 Jan 2024
01:20:17
Happy New Year! (again)
We're welcoming in the new year with a horror movie staple - the killer clown. Strangely, neither of us went for the obvious one this time...
All Hallow's Eve is the first appearance of Art the Clown on the big screen. Prior to his shenanigans in Terrifier, he's stalking a variety of young woman, babysitters, and kids in this questionable attempt at a franchise-starter.
And then for a classic with Killer Klowns from Outer Space. A new watch for both of us, I think we were pleasantly surprised with how well it manages to balance the horror and comedy and ridiculousness of alien clowns.
p.s. Euan's microphone is playing up a bit in this ep, so apologies for the background noise
