Free Crush Live Poker Podcast No. 8: Hustler Overnight + Accidentally Stealing Equity08 Sep 2021

0:00 -- HCL Review and commentary w Nick Vertucci

7:00 -- More WSOP news now no mask mandate

11:35 -- Final explanation as to why all parties have to agree to run it more than once in all pots that they are involved with or else it "steals" someone's equity.

3 way all-in. Short stack has $400, Hero and Player B are $2000 effective. Players get it all-in on the flop. Main pot is $1200, side pot is $3200. Short stack has top set, Hero has middle set but his quad out is exposed so he's drawing dead. Player B has a draw.

Scenario 1 -- Short stack wins first run Player A and B lose $400 each in main pot

Scenario 2-- Player B wins first run, short stack is dead. Player B wins 50% of $1200 pot or $600 for a net win on ONLY $200.

Conclusion: Hero has the opportunity to win half the pot if he loses and player B wins first run, but Player B does not have the opportunity to win half the main if the short stack wins run 1.

21:38 -- 2 Hands from Hustler

FLOP: Tc 8d 3c checked through.

TURN: Jh SB checks, I bet $130, fold, SB calls. Pot $450

RIVER: Kh. SB checks, I bet $275.. SB check raises to $1075 total, so $800 more to call.

QUESTION: In which position is the villain stronger here, if he had called on the button with the same action and raised the river or where he is by check raising in the small blind?

      PLO Double Board Bomb Pots

Number one rule is to not get involved with trips only on one board, especially low ranked trips where an overfull can easily be possible.

      Hand 1: Full Boat/trips
      TOP: Q5J5dd

      BOT: 9737c

      Bart's Hand: 9d 9h 4c 6c.

I bet small on flop a few call. Turn I bet $50 into $125 fold one all-in $60, BB jams he has 9724 other guy AA85 I scoop +$200

      Hand 2:
      TOP: Kc Tc 5h 4h 7h

      BOT: 6h 4d 4c 2h Qc

      Bart's Hand -- 6d 6s Jh 2d

      BB Hand: T473

      HJ: KKxx

      $10 ante x 9 is $90. HJ bets $25 I call 3 others call including the BB.

TURN: BB leads out for $215, fold HJ calls, I pot to $1080.. BB calls allin for $700 so about $750 on the side..

RIVER: guy checks I pot he folds.. I win side pot equity blasting

Free Crush Live Poker Podcast No. 2: An Interesting Hand Reading Exercise01 Aug 2021

An interesting hand reading exercise that comes from an email submission to the Crush Live Call-in show. Bart goes through the logic process and boils down the villain's holding to one specific hand.

UTG ($50) raise to $10, Hero ($1100) calls Ah Ad. Fold to BB ($900) 3! bets to $40, UTG calls. Hero 4! bets to $120.

BB calls, UTG calls all-in for $10.

FLOP: Qs 7h 5d($150/$140) BB checks. Hero bets $175, BB thinks its $75 and calls, doesn’t know its $175 but they force him to keep the $75 in the pot so he calls the $175.

TURN: Js ($150/$490) BB checks, Hero bets $250, BB calls.

RIVER: Ac ($150/$990) BB checks Hero call-in $350, BB calls. What hand does he have here?
