We’re a day late, and in the perfume collectors game, always a dollar short but here nonetheless. In this episode, we’re talking some of the latest new releases from Liis, Arquiste, Byredo, and Guerlain. We have some great listener emails where we try to give our thoughts on licked arms, first date perfumes, and the gray markets. Also, our featured collection this week comes from the new house of Jouissance Parfums, who are bringing powdery, vintage, and very high-minded sexy fragrances to the market. All that, and of course, The Game.

| This Scent Smells Like Bjork’s Speaking Voice Sounds | 19 Jan 2024 | 01:28:29 | |
We start this one a bit off the rails with talk on why you make an Old Fashioned with sugar cubes, a mysterious scent wafting about in our home, and an experience with a haunted dog. Now that's what we call perfume podcasting! Once we settle into the actual program, we discuss Hiram Green's new fragrance announcement, baby perfumes, and what we're in the mood for by way of scentwear right now. Plus, we share our wonderment of Fragrantica's Instagram clone, Fragram. Oh, and we debate the idea of a peanut inspired perfume as it resurfaces unsavory peanut breath memories from Jane's childhood. Highlight from the Game - Find out which fragrance smells just like Bjork speaks in that late 80s video clip with her dismantling a TV. You know the one... Here

| My Dystopian Future Still Involves Perfume | 24 Nov 2023 | 01:25:32 | |
We cover it all in this Black Friday episode (that doesn't really include anything for BF). We talk Dusita, Trudon, and whether or not Future Society is the Theranos of fragrance. We also deal with a crying baby, annoying smoke detectors, and share a couple of delicious dirty martinis. Finally, we try to answer a great listener question but mostly end up talking about buyers remorse from a recent purchase. Listen in for all the above and an "oud-y fruity" version of The Game! | I Need My Crayons, My Binders, and My Serge Lutens | 10 Nov 2023 | 01:24:37
Halloween may be over but those spooky sensations have followed us well into November as we throw up the devil horns and discuss a few perfumes inspired by the darker sides of life including De Profundis by Serge Lutens and Hexensalbe by Stora Skuggan. We also marvel over the big time bold move of Melanie Martinez's follow up to the wildly successful Cry Baby as well as a walk-through of the latest from Thin Wild Mercury. It's a jam-packed episode with lots of scent layering, woo-girl admiration, and a cocktail-influenced real-time purchase of a perfume featured in The Game.

Back with a regular episode of random perfume thoughts and ramblings, a quick run-down on travel scents, and a handful of wishes for our holiday wishlists. | Fragra-Files 001: The Fragrances of Aesop | 13 Oct 2023 | 00:53:08
Welcome to our first installment of Fragra-Files, a new series in which we dedicate a full episode to focus on a specific house, note, guide, or anything else fragrance related that requires a bit more time, research, and discussion than available in our typical episodes. Our first subject is the house of Aesop and their wonderful collection of fragrances that live up perfectly to their iconic beauty brand's style and ethos. As listeners of the show can attest from previous episodes, we are big fans of their 2017 release, Hwyl, and through testing the full line thanks to our region's Aesop representative, it's definitely not the only one. Listen in as we tour through each fragrance, offering our thoughts and opinions along the way.
Please feel free to email us at hello@fragraphilia.com - Send us questions, comments, or recommendations. We can be found on TikTok and Instagram @fragraphilia As explained in the episode, several bottles of the collection were gifted to us for review. All opinions and thoughts are our own and never influenced by anyone else despite their kindness of affording us such an opportunity.
| If It Wasn’t So Sticky I Would Wear It | 06 Oct 2023 | 01:35:04 | |
We are back with another episode and you better believe, true form, that we faced some sort of obstacle in the lead up. This time a rickety old air conditioner unit that forced us out of our home for several days. Thank goodness that have perfumes, will travel. We made great use of our time at Jane's parents testing out samples for you all. This week, Penahligon's Potions and Remedies! We also discuss some new release news, share a handful of witchy October perfume selects, and run through the scents we've been wearing lately. Oh, yeah, and Babycat! Tune in for all of the above and another round of The Game where Jeff brings some smoky patchoulis and Jane goes forest floor green. Bonus content: Movie Recommendation - Bell, Book, and Candle Since this is another long one, here are a few time stamps to break it up a bit: 0:00 - Opening remarks, news and upcoming releases Fragrances mentioned in this episode: The Game: Please feel free to email us at hello@fragraphilia.com - Send us questions, comments, or recommendations. | It Gives Me Early 2010s Burlesque Vibes, D’Ya Know What I Mean? | 22 Sep 2023 | 01:20:41
Fresh from our visit to New York, we discuss our experiences shopping for fragrances, the scents we encountered on the street, and the dank clouds of cannabis smoke that seem to be everywhere. Even the rats were stoned! Join us as we talk about the favorites we sampled, the few we brought home, and a couple perfumes we wish we would've purchased as well. That’s life in the big city, I suppose. Also, our most recent Scents of the Week and a few ideas on what’s to come in future episodes including a full review of Babycat, its potential mates available here in the US, and a full on showdown with the smoky vanillas currently filling up our want-list. If you have suggestions for similarly styled vanillas, please send them to hello@fragraphilia.com. And finally, The Game, as Jane worries that maybe we like too many of our choices and we talk about plans for an all celebrity fragrances as well as a designer brands-only editions. | No, No... It's Not Junk, It's Creative. | 08 Sep 2023 | 01:31:21
Did we ramble on way too long in this episode? Absolutely! Is it jam-packed, filled minute to minute with informative and gripping content? Debatable... but we had fun recording it. One thing's for sure, and you know it's always a safe bet, is that we bring up fragrances from DS & Durga, Byredo, Arquiste, and of course, Ex Nihilo but in between talk about getting weird in the studio, 60-something art witches, and covering up cigar smoke with dryer sheets. We also discuss our favorite brands, a handful we're really crushing on right now, and a few that maybe need to step it up a bit. Plus, some new releases we're excited about and some major pleasers during The Game. | Is That A Fragrance or Have You Been Making Soup? | 25 Aug 2023 | 01:18:21
It's our longest episode yet, for better or worse, but things go deep when you start talking about disappointing new releases, the intoxicating and transformative sensations of testing Strangelove NYC all week, and how we benefit from each other's fondness of certain perfumes and scents. All that and a round of The Game featuring scents that conjure up witches brews, 80s sodas, and gym socks. Yes, you read that correctly, gym socks. After a quick one-week break from the pod, we stir up a couple of Manhattans, spray our hair with a little Elnett, and go through our scents of the (past two) weeks. We also discuss our love for Eris Parfums and our dislike of all the store exclusives we never get to try. Sigh! For the game this week... Jeff goes themeless while Jane embraces the ambers of now. | Welcome to Fragraphilia, the Podcast | 23 Jun 2023 | 01:14:23
In this first ever episode of Fragraphilia, the Podcast, we overcome a restless baby, powers outages and hail, and most of all, our complete lack of experience in recording and editing audio files for this podcast. Despite it all, we talk about our scents of the week, what it would take for us to blind buy something (with a nod to Les Oderants), and finally, our first attempt at "The Game" (name tbd later) where we blind test samples and give our honest thoughts and reviews. Fragrances mentioned in this episode: Nuit de Bakelite by Naomi Goodsir / Rimbaud by Celine / Nightclubbing by Celine / Eau D’Hadrien by Goutal Paris / Bois D’Hadrien by Goutal Paris / Fantôme De Maules by Stora Skuggan / Thumbsucker by Stora Skuggan / Moon Milk by Stora Skuggan / Tonkade by Laboratorio Olfattivo / Gold by Perfumer H / Oronardo by Xinu / Misfit by Arquiste / M/Mink by Byredo / Romanza by Masque Milano / Musky Rain by Renier Perfumes / 20 MARS 2022 by Rundholz / No 2 Le Long Fond by Maison Louis Marie / Poof! by Fzotic / Au Delà Narcisse by Fzotic / Vetiverissimo by Fzotic / Indigo Smoke by Arquiste / Peau by Arquiste / Gold Immortals Extrait by Ex Nihilo / Vanille Leather by BDK Parfums / Gris Charnel by BDK Parfums / Rouge Smoking by BDK Parfums / Tubereuse Imperiale by BDK Parfums / Accra by Gallivant / Tokyo by Gallivant / Brooklyn by Gallivant / Ella by Arquiste / Philosykos by Diptyque / Queens & Monsters by Henry Rose / Uncut Gems by Frederic Malle / Geist by La Curie / Rock River Melody by Régime des Fleurs / Leather Petals by Régime des Fleurs / Himatsu by Régime des Fleurs / La-Bas by Régime des Fleurs / Al-Dukhan by Régime des Fleurs The Game: Molecule 01 + Ginger by Eccentric Molecules / Smoke by Akro / En Passant by Frederic Malle / Cyllene by La Curie / No.44 Fire & Rain by Congniscenti / Chloë Sevigny Little Flower - Régime des Fleurs Please feel free to email us at hello@fragraphilia.com - Send us questions, comments, or recommendations. | Fragra-Files 002: The House of Celine | 31 Jul 2024 | 00:55:13
The long overdue second installment of Fragra-Files featuring the perfumes of Hedi Slimane's Celine. An incredible collection of extremely thoughtful and luxurious scents that are both as gorgeous as they are incredibly consistent with their through-line of orris, musk and soft woody notes. But who is the perfumer behind these compositions and why are they so focused on youthful (and slender) beauty in their inspirations? Well, we have our thoughts and discuss at length as we go through the entire collection that has become a true favorite of Fragraphilia.

Lots of talk about tea, narcissus, and two brands we really like weaving in and out of this episode. The latter being St Rose, which continues to impress us, and a new-to-us brand, Pekji out of Turkey. We also share some thoughts on a handful of samples we tested out this past week including both Odile and Odette from Gumamina.

We've missed you and we're happy to share our thoughts and perfume experiences with you again. So, let's get to it! We're back again to talk about Acne Studio's new perfume announcement, how much we really like Régime des Fleurs latest Fait Main release, Green Vanille, and then we stumble down the rabbit hole of Matiere Premiere in an almost Fragra-Files episode style rundown of each scent. Why? Because we've been noticing some mixed feelings on the brand both online and in our DMs. Naturally, we decided to go through each one for our, and hopefully your, amusement. Get that wantlist ready! Join us also for our Highlights from the Tray featuring a few new perfumes and a very light and pleasing round of The Game which gets interrupted by a heated debate about who could be the mysterious perfumer behind Celine. | This Is Who Trad Wife Really Wants to Be | 08 Mar 2024 | 01:11:29
We're back to business in 2024 (again) after a bit of downtime thanks to the daycare plague. Voices and senses all restored, or at least that's how we start, but Jeff inadvertently destroys Jane's olfactive abilities in round two of the game. Live and learn! In this episode we discuss new release news from Dusita, DS & Durga, Maison Crivelli, and Fragraphilia faves, Liis. We also talk perfume oil pickups and spend a good deal of time discussing the new Legacy Collection from Estée Lauder. Folks, we love it! Also, we go springtime florals and clean scents during our tray roundup and then celebrate those himbo/bimbo/thembo scents living in a Trad Wife perfume world during The Game. Bring on those dumb, fun scents! Sample Storage Bins: https://amzn.to/3wSNsU7

| A Cornucopia of Pretty Girliness | 16 Feb 2024 | 01:16:43 | |
We're back, baby! It's so good to finally have time to sit down and share a few thoughts on what we've been wearing, sampling, and receiving lately. It's also time we shared some pointless asides like a brief journey down the butt rock bands rabbit hole of the mid 2000s, how a bank robber stumbled through our backyard, and the ups and downs of placing your child in daycare. It's a fun time to be alive! Special thanks to Arquiste, Maison d'Etto, and Libertine Fragrance for spoiling us recently with gifts and perfumes. Welcome to Fragraphilia, 2025. Let's talk "less is more" which is what we're hoping for this year. How about we sit back, slow down a bit, and talk longer about the perfumes we really love? We're all getting tired out here jumping from new to newer thing. Save your top 10 of this and that and give us what you're wearing today and why. Churn and burn has us concerned! Since we're sitting already, let's have a good round of The Game as well. Enjoy!

| Hug Your Dogs | 18 Apr 2025 | 01:21:09 | |
An episode recorded with a heavy heart as we had to say goodbye to Jane's chihuahua, Jimmy Wilkins, who lived life with gusto for 17 years, most of which were in Jane's lap, arms, or bedside. We are absolutely heartbroken but extremely grateful for the years he blessed us with his giant personality and even bigger smile. Rest in power, Jimmy (2008 - 2025). To get us through the evening, we decided to pour a couple of proper gin martinis, grab some samples for The Game, and take a tour of some of our favorite white florals from our collection. After all, perfume has that wonderful way of bringing comfort, liveliness, and nostalgia, which is a big reason a lot of us enjoy it so much. I'm not going to sugarcoat it, this episode takes a bit of a somber turn again, this time around the 30 minute mark but we do manage to spend most of it talking about the fragrances we've tested, worn, and even a few we regret. The highlight, though, is a fun grab-bag version of The Game thanks to a couple of our dear friends and fellow perfume enthusiasts who were so kind to send us samples. | Fragra-Files 003: Régime des Fleurs | 23 May 2025 | 01:19:00
We are so excited to feature one of our most favorite houses in our third edition of Fragra-Files, Régime des Fleurs. After launching in 2014, the line has expanded and evolved year over year into one of the most consistently high level luxury perfume brands on the market today. With watery roses, dewy green white florals, and sharp earthy woods, Régime des Fleurs and Alia Raza bring something unique to niche perfumery that is often classic, sometimes mysterious, and always effortlessly chic. Listen as we go through the current lineup, discuss a couple of limited Fait Main releases, and lament a missed opportunity to buy one that was discontinued long ago. Finally, we close the episode with our top 5 picks and we'd love to know a few of yours. Please feel free to email us at hello@fragraphilia.com - Send us questions, comments, or recommendations. | Haters That Are Formed And Haters That Are Born | 06 Jun 2025 | 01:11:06
In this episode we discuss a few new to us perfumes from the houses of Aedes de Venustas and Reservation, the latter being a new brand that keeps popping up on our social feeds, and we are very impressed by both. A couple even rocketed up our respective want lists. Also, Jeff is looking for some magnolia perfumes and Jane discusses a new favorite from Trudon composed by Lyn Harris back in 2017. During The Game, we are challenged by an old world recipe, note lists that scare us a bit, and one that's probably more suited for a night out than an afternoon at the playground with your toddler. | It Smells LIke the Scariest Night of Your Life | 20 Jun 2025 | 01:17:30
We speak a bit more about brands and perfumes in general rather than specific releases this episode but we wanted to discuss design, bottles, and what piques our interest when we are shopping new houses and fragrances. Preferences that go beyond just the note list. We also discuss dabbers and our best approach at maximizing their wear in response to a listener message. Spoiler Alert - We're no help! For The Game, I'm not sure the room has ever smelled better as we sample some classics and a couple of surprises. Seriously, it still smells great and I'm writing this hours after recording. This is an episode about a girl who has been on a quest to find her next full bottle purchase. This is also an episode about the paralysis of choice. Luckily, we have a little time, some microphones, and a few people out there willing to hear her story. Also, The Game this week doesn't help shorten the list, that's for sure, but I think we make it out with her selections (kinda). After a short break from our normal recording routine, we are back and ready to ramble about the perfumes we just can't wear in this god forsaken heat, but some that we do, and others we look forward to wearing in the fall and winter. Also, Jane reveals the big winner from her perfume search from the last episode and let's just say there were some significant changes in heart. | Wait, I'm Getting Word From My Subconscious | 15 Aug 2025 | 01:21:39
Are we doing damage to our noses with some of these powerful aroma-chemicals? We don't know for sure, but maybe, and we discuss it a bit in this episode. We also talk about a few milk perfumes, the perfumes we're looking forward to wearing once the heat breaks, and some ways to layer Oudh Infini. And for those keeping score, you can bet on Jane mentioning L'Astre. Oh, and a pretty solid round of The Game. That want list just keeps growing... Scents Mentioned in this Episode: The Game:

| Just Thinkin' About Dupes and Dudes | 29 Aug 2025 | 01:22:29 | |
We've been so excited to discuss the newest release from Paraphrase Perfumes, Fruit Thieves, which was totally worth all the customs delays. Thanks to Josh who kindly sent it to us as a gift. We also dip our toes in the water of the ever-present topic of dupes and how they play into the manosphere and Reddit sales. As fun as that seems, most of this episode is heavy on Parfum d'Empire as we talk about a few we've been testing and really enjoying. Plus, our scents of the week and pretty solid round of The Game.
