The Divine Process Of Calling A Latter-day Saint Stake President - Darren Evans | 6311 Nov 202401:07:10

Darren Evans is the current Stake President of the Bristol, England Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although this role is a regional leadership role, Darren's views and comments are his own and does not necessarily constitute the official comments of the Church.

I wanted to speak to Darren about the process of being called as a Stake President and to help provide a peek behind the curtain of what this responsibility entails. We've all been there at Stake Conferences when this happens and it's exciting, you can feel the Spirit working in the process and so I loved learning more about it.

Some highlights from this episode include how Darren was called, how he selected his counsellors, and whether or not he is seeing extraordinary growth in faith in Jesus Christ in the UK.

The Fearless Female Pioneers Who Built The Church In The Pacific & Asia - Felipe & Petra Chou | 6204 Nov 202401:10:09

Felipe & Petra Chou are back after their great episode about Mongolia to discuss their new book: Voices of Latter-day Saint Women in the Pacific & Asia.

I wanted to speak to Felipe & Petra to learn about these incredible female pioneers. I am still thinking about the things I learned, this was a moving experience to me to learn about these women. I felt of Felipe & Petra's sincere admiration for them.

Some highlights from this episode include when Moroni visited a member of Thai royalty, the stories of Temple Matrons in the Hong Kong Temple, and memories of the first Relief Society President in Korea.

Legendary Latter-day Saint Director Discusses New Movie - Garrett Batty | 5301 Sep 202401:01:21

Garrett Batty is a beloved Latter-day Saint movie director who has created classics like The Saratov Approach and Freetown.

I wanted to speak to Garrett about his newest movie - Faith of Angels, how it came to be and what his new film shows about the resurgence of Christian, feel-good movies of faith.

Some highlights from this episode include why Garrett chose this true story to make a film on, whether Christian movies and filmmaking like The Chosen have helped in the resurgence of faith in society, and why stories are so powerful.

Jared Halverson is an associate professor of Ancient Scripture, working at BYU after 24 years of serving in the Church Educational System. Jared also hosts the popular YouTube channel Unshaken

I wanted to speak to Jared to learn more about how to become a great student and teacher of the scriptures. I've always been so impressed and inspired by the talented teachers in the Church, and Jared is definitely one of the best.

Some highlights from this episode include how to help someone navigate a faith crisis, the one principle that transformed how Jared teaches, and how Jared manages to spend hours teaching at Unshaken without burning out!

Understanding The Mountain Meadows Massacre - Janiece Johnson | 5118 Aug 202401:12:28

Dr Janiece Johnson specialises in American religious history—specifically Mormon history, gender, and the prosecution for the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Janiece worked on Richard E. Turley Jr.'s 'Massacre at Mountain Meadows' book and was the general editor of the recently published Mountain Meadows Massacre: Collected Legal Papers. As a magnificent culmination of her work on the massacre, she wrote and published 'Convicting the Mormons: The Mountain Meadows Massacre in American Culture.

I wanted to speak to Janiece as I've always wanted to learn about the Mountain Meadows Massacre, but there is so much emotion and conspiracy around the topic. I feel privileged that Janiece would join us and share trusted, honest insights into the history and the aftermath of the horrific event.

Some highlights from this episode include how media sensationalism caused a lasting impact on America's perceptions on Latter-day Saints, a definitive answer of whether or not any blame could be placed at Brigham Young's feet, and how Janiece kept her faith strong despite studying such saddening accounts.

Joe Wilson is a BBC Presenter who hosts the longest-running faith and ethics broadcast on the network which goes out every Sunday on BBC Radio Lancashire.

This is the 50th episode of For All The Saints - I want to take a moment to thank you all for your ongoing support, I love what I do and am grateful for the opportunity to use my professional expertise to share faith-refreshing conversations.

I wanted to speak to Joe as he has been a leading figure in the faith community around Lancashire for many years, covering significant Latter-day Saint events like the opening of the Preston, England Temple and reporting on the British Pageants. Lancashire is home to the longest-running Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, its an important location in Latter-day Saint history.

Some highlights from this episode include Joe's experience visiting the Preston Temple's open house, if Joe thinks faith is declining in the West, and Joe's feelings on Latter-day Saint teachings.

What Latter-day Saints Can Learn From The Apocrypha - Jared Ludlow | 4904 Aug 202401:03:22

Jared Ludlow wrote the book 'Exploring the Apocrypha From a Latter-day Saint Perspective' and has been teaching in the Ancient Scripture Department at BYU since 2006. Previous to that, he spent six years teaching Religion and History at BYU Hawaii, and served the last two years as Chair of the History Department.

I wanted to speak to Jared Ludlow to see what Latter-day Saints can learn about the Apocrypha and why we should care about it despite it not being a part of our canon.

Some highlights from this episode include the meaning of the word apocrypha, the connection between the Book of Mormon and the apocrypha, and what God revealed to Joseph Smith about the apocrypha.

Unbelievable Stories Of The Willie & Martin Pioneers - Andrew Olsen & Jolene Allphin | 4828 Jul 202401:13:07

Andrew Olsen and Jolene Allphin co-wrote 'Follow Me to Zion: Stories from the Willie Handcart Pioneers'. Respectively, they wrote further books about these pioneers, in Andrew's book he says, 'although this story is one of the most frequently told of all Mormon pioneer accounts, it is also among the least understood.'

I wanted to speak to both of them about why they felt to write extensively about the Willie & Martin Handcart Pioneers, but also to find out why these stories aren't fully understood and to hear the lesser-known stories.

Some highlights from this episode include a key moment in the rescue that showed Brigham Young's prophetic mantle, what camp in Iowa would have been like, and some incredible, faith-inspiring stories of individuals.

Devan Jensen is the executive editor and social media manager at the BYU Religious Studies Center. He and Rosalind Meno Ram are editors of Battlefields to Temple Grounds: Latter-day Saints in Micronesia and Guam.

I wanted to speak to Devan about the establishment of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Micronesia and Guam, considering its unique history during wartime and the geographical layout of so many different islands, I'm so intrigued to hear the stories of the pioneers there and the logistics of the Church in the area!

Some highlights from this episode include travelling to Stake Conference by boat, the best food in Micronesia, and the key figures in the early Micronesian church.

Eric Robertson is the host of the 'Men Who Love God' podcast, a billboard charting producer, and the co-owner and CEO of Pleasant Pictures Music Club.

Everything Latter-Day Saints Need To Know About Ancient Christians - Jason Combs | 4507 Jul 202401:06:13

Dr. Jason R. Combs is an associate professor of Ancient Scripture and affiliate faculty of Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Brigham Young University. He also edited the book 'Ancient Christians: An Introduction for Latter-Day Saints.'

I wanted to speak to Jason as I am often saddened that I gloss over the 1500+ year period of what we call the Great Apostasy, I find it quite a disparaging term considering the incredible sacrifices of countless truth-seekers and Jason's book helps to bring those important stories of ancient Christians to light and connect them to us, Latter-day Saints.

Some highlights from this episode include why Latter-day Saints misunderstand the Nicene Creed, what the primitive Church may have looked like compared to the modern Church, and the incredible story of Perpetua.

The Powerful Restored Truth Of Becoming Like God - Andrew Skinner | 4430 Jun 202401:14:03

Dr Andrew C Skinner is the former Dean of Religious Education at Brigham Young University.

I wanted to speak to Dr Skinner about one of the most powerful - and sometimes uncomfortable - doctrines of the Restored Gospel: Theosis, Human Divinization, or simply - becoming like God.

Some highlights from this episode include what other faiths believe, the King Follett discourse, and why this doctrine is important to Dr Skinner.

Daryl Watson recently completed 3 years leading the Belgium/Netherlands Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with his wife.

I wanted to speak to Daryl about how he reflects on the experience of leading the mission and the logistics and practicalities of what it's actually like to serve in that calling.

Some highlights from this episode include how missionary work has changed after Covid, what the first day of leading the mission is like, and the emotional toll of bidding farewell to beloved missionaries and welcoming in new ones every 6 weeks.

How To Overcome Shame & Guilt With God's Grace - Kurt Francom | 4323 Jun 202401:05:06

Kurt Francom is the Host & Executive Director of Leading Saints.

I wanted to speak to Kurt about his hope-inspiring and uplifting new book, 'Is God Disappointed In Me: Removing Shame From a Gospel of Grace'.

The Miraculous Conversion Of An Atheist Scientist - Sy Garte | 4216 Jun 202401:00:26

Dr Sy Garte is a retired biochemist and has been a professor at New York University, University of Pittsburgh, and Rutgers University.

I wanted to speak to Sy about his incredible conversion from a militant atheist to a lay leader of a church. Sy's story is powerful, I feel emotional whenever I hear it - but his insights are incredibly valuable about the intersection of faith and science too.

Some highlights from this episode include the evolution of the atheism movement, Sy's favourite part of the Gospels, and Sy's vision that made him cry out to Jesus Christ.

Eye-Opening Results From Surveying Thousands of Latter-Day Saints - Josh Coates | 4109 Jun 202401:00:01

Josh Coates is the Executive Director of the B.H Roberts Foundation which supports education and research related to the culture, doctrine, and history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I wanted to speak to Josh as the Foundation recently released results of a survey they conducted with thousands of current and former members of the church. There were some really interesting insights into the distinct culture of the church, I think it's helpful to take a step back and observe ourselves and this data was so helpful in doing that.

Some highlights from this episode include why it's great to be a Latter-day Saint, if Latter-day Saints have a distinct ideology, and what we can learn/do better from looking at the data.

Are Traditional Religious Views Still Welcome? - Harrison Butker Roundtable | 4003 Jun 202401:14:16

*Apologies for technical difficulties around 3 minutes in*

Harrison Butker is a well-known figure in the American Football world. He is the Kicker for the Superbowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs, coached by Latter-day Saint Andy Reid. Harrison recently came under scrutiny for a graduation speech he gave at Benedictine College, a Catholic college.

I wanted to get together with some of the best Latter-day Saint content creators around - Mama Sosa, Batchlor Johnson, Elder TikTok, and Hayden and Savannah Paul from The Stick of Joseph - to discuss why this speech was such a controversy and if traditional religious views are still welcomed and respected in today’s society.

Some highlights include Hayden and Savannah’s beautiful experience of being parents, why Batchlor thinks it was the wrong setting, and Mama Sosa’s powerful testimony of God’s plan for couples.

Saints: The Most Inspiring Insights & Stories From The Final Volume - James Perry | 6020 Oct 202401:05:13

James Perry is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Area History Manager for Northern Europe, he was a historian and editor on previous volumes of 'Saints' - a narrative history of the Church. He was the general editor of the fourth and final volume of 'Saints.'

I wanted to speak to James about his experience joining the Church as a young adult and becoming enamoured with the Church's history. I also wanted to discuss the fourth volume of Saints because it covers from 1955-2020 - so it seems less of a history and more of a deeper dive into the lives of members who are still living and leaders who we can get to know better.

Some highlights from this episode include James's favourite stories from the fourth volume of 'Saints', what James would say to those who can't see the beauty and richness of Church history, and why everyone should read the new volume of 'Saints.'

--

The fourth volume of 'Saints: Sounded In Every Ear' will be released on October 29th. You can read it for free on the Gospel Library app or buy a physical copy.

This faith-refreshing conversation on the For All The Saints podcast is all about finding God in difficult moments!

Tammy Peterson is a Catholic, podcaster, and the wife of Canadian psychologist Jordan B. Peterson.

I wanted to speak to Tammy about her awe-inspiring journey of finding God in the midst of her terrifying cancer diagnosis, a cancer with a near-0% survival rate. I also wanted to learn from Tammy about a number of other topics that I find her to be very wise in.

Some highlights from this episode include the blessing women have in traditional religions of having Mary as an example, why Tammy thinks young Christian couples should have children as early as possible, and the beauty of having a friend who can inspire you in your faith.

Why The Kirtland Temple Purchase Is So Significant - Jasmin Rappleye | 3131 Mar 202401:04:55

Today's For All The Saints podcast is all about the Church's Kirtland Temple takeover!

You may recognise Jasmin Rappleye as the face of Scripture Plus, creating short-form videos of amazing insights and decoding hot topics and current affairs of her faith. She was instrumental in creating the Scripture Plus study app and has worked at Scripture Central since its beginning. She studied Ancient Near Eastern Studies at BYU and regularly researches Latter-day Saint Temples and women’s roles in the Gospel.

I wanted to talk to Jasmin today specifically about the significant  Kirkland Temple deal between the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Community of Christ.

Some highlights include what was in the agreement, why, as a British member, I should care about the Kirtland era, and reflecting on the role of Relief Society in the early Church.

Bryan is a content creator on Twitter/X sharing the experiences of latter-day Apostles of Jesus Christ from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, men who have the same function and responsibility as the original Apostles of christianity.

I was one of Bryan's early followers and really wanted to dig into some of the great miracles and prophecies of modern-day apostles, especially with General Conference coming up.

Some highlights of today's episode include the attempted murder of an apostle, how an apostle's faith ended a nationwide drought, and what we can learn from who Christ selects as Apostles in His church.

Why Do Latter-Day Saints Make Covenants? - Craig Wright | 2918 Mar 202401:09:43

Today's episode of the For All The Saints podcast is all about covenants!

On many occasions I have heard Craig speak powerfully about covenants and covenant belonging in his various capacities. Covenant belonging is a phrase being used more and more, and I wanted to get a better understanding of what it actually means, and why covenants have such an important role in Christianity. In timely fashion, we are following on from Elder Dale G Renlund's fascinating talk about covenants at Brigham Young University.

Some highlights include why we engage in multiple covenants, other examples across cultures, religions, and in the Bible of covenants, and a powerful story of how your covenants can be a source of strength.

Practical Tips For Navigating Holy Week - Lani Hilton | 2811 Mar 202401:13:46

Lani is a Brigham Young University graduate of Family Science with a music minor. She loves the simplicity and happiness found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Lani is married to John Hilton III and is mother to six wonderful children.  She finds joy in uplifting time with good friends, laughter when no one is the brunt of the joke, a kitchen that cleans itself and bedtime hugs and kisses. She is an author, speaker and energetic teacher.

I wanted to speak to Lani about the practical ways we can celebrate Holy Week, and the weeks following, as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although the birth of Christ is important, the whole Plan of Salvation revolves around Christ's atoning sacrifice and resurrection, making Easter so pivotal! Let's make it great in 2024.

Some highlights from this episode are the differences between British and American Easter traditions, the food you can use to celebrate Holy Week, and our responses to Elder Gary E Stevenson's invitation to put more emphasis on Easter.

Rachel Miner is the Founder and CEO of Bellwether International, working directly with government leaders, faith and belief leaders, and NGOs to foster and protect human rights for all.

I wanted to speak to Rachel about the current atrocities in the world which signal that religious freedom is not a goal we have reached in our era yet. People all around the world are still being horrifically discriminated based on their faith or belief.

Some highlights from this episode include what we can do as individuals, brief rundowns of different global issues currently occurring, and the incredible importance of religious tolerance.

Reviving Faith: How Belief In God Is Making A Comeback - Justin Brierley | 2626 Feb 202400:51:54

Justin Brierley is a writer, speaker, and podcaster committed to building dialogue between Christians and non-Christians. His first book was titled Unbelievable? Why, after ten years of talking with atheists, I’m still a Christian and in September 2023 he published his second book, The Surprising Rebirth of Belief in God.

I wanted to speak to Justin after reading his exceptional new book (and after listening to the accompanying podcast), it brought me hope as a Brit in what is presented to be an incredibly secular United Kingdom. Anecdotally, that's not the case. I'm constantly surprised by friends and acquaintances responding positively or showing interest in my Christian projects. I'm also seeing many statistics beneath the surface highlighting societal trends (especially in the rising generation) showing a return to prayer, church, family, and God.

Some highlights include how to remain hopeful in a pre-war world, what Justin thinks of Richard Dawkins' opinion of Jordan Peterson, and why young men in Finland are showing up to Church more and more.

Justin will be hosting an event in London with Tom Holland on March 5th, head to his website to get tickets.

I wanted to speak to John primarily about Isaiah, as we are approaching a significant chunk of Isaiah chapters in our Book of Mormon study - and I didn't want to be lost! We talked on a number of topics on top of that, but I'm grateful that John helped me with his incredible teaching skills.

Some highlights include how John's book influenced BYU's art gallery, the key to unlocking Isaiah, and how John prepares a lesson.

London Latter-day Saints React To General Conference - October 2024 General Conference Roundtable | 5913 Oct 202401:28:01

I travelled to London to meet with a group of Latter-day Saints from all different walks of life to see what they thought of the most recent General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints..

I do this every 6 months, and this is the third time, as I love to see what insights others had from watching, what hearing from living Prophets and Apostles means to people and how the Church is spreading globally. .

Some highlights from this episode include our reactions to President Nelson’s remarks, what everyone’s favourite talk was, and something we’ve all learned from President Nelson’s 100 years!

Creating A New Hymnbook For A Global Church - Ray Robinson | 2305 Feb 202400:42:52

Ray Robinson is the Director of Experiences for the Priesthood Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As part of his wide-spanning role, Ray advises the team creating the new hymnbook for the Church - the first general hymnbook since 1985.

The Church looks a lot different than it did 1985, and I wanted to know how the new hymnbook project is reflecting that difference (that change primarily being a much more international membership).

Some highlights include the crazy process of going through every submission, which hymns were the most requested, and if different cultures submitted vastly different styles of hymns.

Unveiling The Political Legacy Of Joseph Smith - Spencer W. McBride | 2229 Jan 202401:01:15

Spencer W McBride is a historian and author who wrote the fantastic book Joseph Smith For President. He is also an Associate Managing Historian of the Joseph Smith Papers and the voice of the Joseph Smith Papers podcast.

I wanted to speak to Spencer about Joseph's presidential campaign and his motivations for running, and also what lessons we can learn from church history and the early pioneers of America as we know it today.

Some highlights include what leading figures thought of Joseph Smith and his call to end slavery, which campaigns we could compare Joseph's to in today's society, and how Spencer feels the current state of religious freedom is in America.

What 'The Singles Ward' Taught Me About Faith - Michael Birkeland | 2122 Jan 202401:03:19

Michael Birkeland is a comedy actor known globally by Latter-day Saints for his roles in The Singles Ward, The RM, Church Ball, The Home Teachers, and more.

A disclaimer - we did have some technical difficulties recording this episode, and our editor Sean has worked hard to iron them out in post-production, but we apologise if there are slight glitches in the audio here and there and hope you can still enjoy it!

I'm a huge fan of Michael's, and also a huge fan of comedy. We've learnt before that comedians have a unique role in society and a unique perspective, so I wanted to chat with Michael and see how his career has shaped his views on faith.

Some highlights include Michael's upcoming projects, his reflection on the success of The Singles Ward, and how the ability to poke fun at your own culture is healthy.

Revealing The True Power Of The Word Of Wisdom - Cassidy & Jordan Gundersen | 2015 Jan 202401:03:33

Cassidy and Jordan Gundersen own Spiro Health and Wellness–a company that they built to help educate people on how they can reverse chronic health conditions with diet.

Cassidy holds a PhD in health and nutrition. She is also a nutritionist, health coach, and mother (as well as being Miss Idaho and a star on American Idol!) Jordan is a master herbalist and Iridologist. Together they co-authored the best-selling book 'The Word of Wisdom: Hope, Healing and the Destroying Angel' which chronicles how learning the principles of the Word of Wisdom helped to cure their serious health issues.

Their story is inspiring, and I wanted to go deeper into how living the Word of Wisdom and constantly seeking to progress in caring for our bodies can bring sacred spiritual blessings.

Some highlights include their thoughts on the carnivore diet, how hot drinks became interpreted as tea and coffee, and more!

Groundbreaking New Evidence Of Noah's Ark - Andrew Jones | 1908 Jan 202401:03:52

Andrew Jones is the creator of Discovered Media and one of the lead researchers of the Noah's Ark site near Mount Ararat in Turkey.

I wanted to speak to Andrew about the exciting new research that occurred at the end of 2023 that caused the site to be the subject of global media interest.

Some highlights include how working around ancient Biblical sites has impacted Andrew's personal faith in Jesus Christ, how conclusive evidence of the Ark would influence the world, and the evidence of ancient human activity around the site.

Get The Most Out Of Come, Follow Me 2024 - Tyler Griffin | 1801 Jan 202400:55:16

Happy New Year!

I'm grateful that Tyler could join me for my new year's episode. As we know, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints each year the curriculum 'Come, Follow Me' changes. To prepare for a year focused on the Book of Mormon, Tyler lends a hand in helping us know how we can get the most out of 2024's gospel study.

Highlights include how to manage a difficult person in class, how Taylor & Tyler prepare for a lesson, and why Come, Follow Me's format has changed this year.

Tyler Griffin is an Associate Dean of Religious Education at Brigham Young University and co-host of the popular Come, Follow Me Insights show alongside Taylor Halverson on Scripture Central. Tyler has authored several books: When Heaven Feels Distant, co-authored Come Unto Me: Illuminating the Savior's Life, Mission, Parables, and Miracles, and co-edited Millions Shall Know Brother Joseph Again.

Expert Reveals Hidden Truths About Christmas - James Cooper | 1724 Dec 202300:45:27

James Cooper is a Christmas expert and runs the website Why Christmas? There is nobody better to interrogate about all the strange traditions and rituals surrounding the end of December. Christmas comes around and we take it for what it is, but there is so much about it that we don't know, it is always interesting to see what influences the season over the years and what creeps in!

Some highlights from this episode are the role of dragons and leopards in the Nativity scene, whether Christmas is actually pagan or not, and a very strange Christmas tradition which involves finding garlic in a hollow log.

Merry Christmas!

The Most Common Dating Mistakes Of Latter-Day Saints - Amy Stevens Seal | 1618 Dec 202300:57:11

Amy Stevens Seal, otherwise known as the Latter Day Matchmaker, has been helping members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints find true love for a long time. She knows, more than most, what women and men want from a relationship, and whatever stage of romance you're in - you need to take note!

Amy has set up Matchmaking Saints as a new, free dating app with a difference: it is overseen by a professional matchmaker. If you're looking for romance, you can sign up today - you can even organise group meet-ups if you're simply looking for a more casual gathering to make new friends.

I loved this episode, it's different from my normal episodes, and you can see voluminously how awkward I am with the subject matter, but it's nonetheless important. Amy is aware of the common traits of successful courtships, and the common traits of unsuccessful ones - take notes as we all learn from her.

Why Are People Worried About Church History? - Steven Harper | 1511 Dec 202300:59:00

Steven Harper is one of the foremost historians within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Having played a leading role in the Joseph Smith Papers project, the Saints project, and the Wilford Woodruff Papers project (amongst many others), Steven is more qualified than most to answer questions about the church's history and how learning about it can be a blessing.

I wanted to talk to Steven about how the information and clickbait era is presenting a challenge to those who grow concerned about elements of church history, Steven has read it all and remains faithful: why and how? His insights and advice are priceless for growing your faith and coming to know the truth when learning about the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Some highlights from this episode are what we misunderstand about Joseph Smith, why we don't hear much about Wilford Woodruff, and what it means to be a 'seeker' of truth.

My Incredible Transformation Through Christ - Matty Jewitt | 1404 Dec 202301:02:00

Matty Jewitt is a student and staunch Sunderland Football Club supporter from Yorkshire, England. Matty's conversion story is one that has inspired me over and over, I was excited that he was willing to share it with the world on my podcast.

We can never tire of conversion stories because they remind us of our own, lead us to our own, and strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ. Matty's story can aid those struggling with addiction, and provide hope to those who may feel lost in grief.

From Latter-day Saint Sceptic To Defender: "I'm Exposing The Adversary's Tactics" - Austin Fife | 5806 Oct 202401:06:54

Austin Fife is the author of the Light and Truth Letter, which exposes the tactics of manipulation used by people who seek to destroy the faith of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I wanted to speak to Austin about his powerful faith journey culminating in the Light and Truth Letter, but also to help us all (including me) become better equipped to answer questions that may cause doubt if not properly understood or aided by trustworthy sources.

Some highlights from this episode include how Austin's wife helped him to come closer to God through a crisis of faith, the key tactics used by the adversary to destroy faith, and Austin's parable of the cherry tree.

Remembering Elder M. Russell Ballard - Joseph Walker | 1220 Nov 202301:08:17

Joseph Walker is a communications professional and the author of 'Anxiously Engaged' which is the official biography of his close friend Elder M. Russell Ballard.

Last Sunday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints lost one of it's highest leaders. Known to some as 'the grandfather of the Church', Elder Ballard was the longest serving current general authority until his passing. I wanted to learn more about who Elder Ballard was, and his greatest contributions to the Church.

Some highlights from this episode are how Elder Ballard's upbringing impacted him, his greatest contribution to the Church, when he failed to follow a spiritual prompting, when he brought rain to a nation desperate for it through prayer, and much more.

From Hollywood A-List To Evangelical Christian - James Fox | 1113 Nov 202300:35:01

James Fox is a true British icon of Hollywood and an incredible man. Now, at 85 years old, James carries the legacy of an illustrious career starring in films such as The Loneliness of a Long-Distance Runner, The Servant, Performance, A Passage to India, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, and many more.

I wanted to speak to James about when, at the very heights of his stardom, he decided to give it all up to become an evangelical Christian - and how he sees God as he looks back at his career. I hope you find James as charming and wise as I did.

Some highlights include his insights into choosing roles, how he avoided compromising standards as a mainstream actor, his advice to young Christians, and more.

The Keys To Understanding The Book Of Mormon - Neal Rappleye | 1006 Nov 202301:28:35

We made it to 10 episodes! Amazed by all your support. As always, please share with friends and family who would find this valuable.

My guest today is Scripture Central's Neal Rappleye. Neal Rappleye is a research project manager for Scripture Central. He is involved in on-going research on many facets of the Book of Mormon’s historical context, including: ancient Jerusalem (especially around the 7th century bc), ancient Arabia, the ancient Near East more broadly, pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, and the 19th century witnesses to the discovery and translation of the Book of Mormon plates. He’s published with BYU Studies, The Interpreter Foundation, Book of Mormon Central, Greg Kofford Books, and Covenant Communications.

1 Nephi is the book in the Book of Mormon that we've all read a gazillion times, however - after speaking with Neal, I can never read it the same (in a good way). Neal's teaching has made my Book of Mormon study so much more enriched.

Some highlights are the reality of Lehi sending his sons back for the plates, what it was like to be a scribe, whether or not it was justified in law for Nephi to slay Laban, and much more. A jam-packed episode.

You can learn more of Neal’s work with the Scripture Central team at the following links:
