Ep. 200 - It's only fitting that our 200th episode is at Outside Lands, one of the best music and food tests in the country. We caught up with Chef Stuart Brioza, who runs the acclaimed SF restaurant State Bird Provisions along with his wife Nicole Krasinksi, to chat about music behind the Gastro Magic stage.

Ep. 199 - This week's guest is artist and Hip Hop producer extraordinaire, Dan the Automator (Deltron 3030, Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School). He's not only worked with a ton of artists over the years, but he's befriended a bunch of chefs- including David Chang, who appears on the latest Deltron 3030 album. We met up with him at a coffee shop in SF just before Outside Lands to talk all about that, plus he tells us about the time he introduced Michael Stipe to Momofuku.

Ep. 190 - Vampire Weekend's Chris Baio is this week's podcast guest, the last of our conversation recorded live at SxSw. We talk about London food, and his obsession with gummy candies, plus ask him whether or not he's gotten to eat Rostam's mom's cooking (she's a world famous cookbook author.)

Ep. 99 - This week's podcast guest Mark Trombino is not only the producer behind such huge albums as Blink 182's "Dude Ranch" and Jimmy Eat World's "Bleed American" but he is also owns a new doughnut shop in Los Angeles called Donut Friend!  Zach talks to him at the very beginning about San Diego burritos, but most of the podcast is about doughnuts (naturally.)

Ep. 98 - This week's podcast guest is the legendary Shep Gordon, famed music manager of Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, and Luther Vandross (among others) and the man credited with inventing the celebrite chef.  Shep talks to Zach about chinese food, the time he cooked latkes for Mike Myers, and how the music business and the business of food are practically identical (all in a car on the way to the airport.) 
Shep is the subject of the new documentary "Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon" which was directed by Mike Myers and is in theaters now.  

Ep. 97 - Chef Ben Ford stops by Bronson Island this week to talk music with Chuck & Zach.  He tells us how growing up in L.A. exposed him to all sorts of musicians as a kid, and how his dad Harrison Ford may have influenced how he views being a chef. He also tells us about a brief stint in SF working for Bill Graham when he got to see Jerry Garcia, John Lee Hooker, Carlos Santa, and more.  His new cookbook "Taming the Feast" is out now, and each of the feasts in the book have a companion playlist that can be found on his website www.chefbenford.com

Ep. 96 - Amelia Meath (Mountain Man) and Nick Sanborn (Megafaun) are the duo that make up the band Sylvan Esso, who released their first album a few weeks ago.  The band stopped by our Bronson Island studio to talk food, sandwiches, and coffee (their awesome new song, and the beverage.) Plus Zach made Amelia cry with potato chips.  

Ep. 95 - Iron Man director Jon Favreau comes on the podcast to talk about his new movie "Chef", and what a big role music and food play in the film- which takes place in L.A., Miami, New Orleans, and Austin. Zach also brings up how similar the movie is to Swingers (which he also wrote and starred in), including the awesomeness of the soundtrack- which features music from Gary Clark Jr., Rebrith Brass Band, and Perico Hernandez. 
The film "Chef" is in theaters now, and stars Jon Favreau, Sofia Vergara, Jon Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Downey Jr. 

Ep. 94 - WD-50 Chef Wylie Dufresne comes on the podcast this week to talk to Zach and guest host Jeff Miller about mostly the Grateful Dead.  A huge Deadhead, Wylie tells us about the old days when he used to follow the band around, cooking food in the parking lots of shows.  We also talk first concerts, cooking for Lou Reed, and Treme (the HBO New Orleans show that was pretty much all food and music.)  Plus Wylie talks about the reverence he has for musicians, and how he doesn't think chefs even come close to doing what they do.  

Ep. 93 - Stephen Malkmus and his band the Jicks are this week's podcast guest.  Zach and guest co-host Jeff Miller (from Thrilllist) caught up with the band in the green room of The El Rey last time they were in Los Angeles to talk food and a little bit of sports (apparently Chef David Chang is in Stephen's fantasy basketball and baseballs leagues.) It also turns out Keyboardist Mike Clark used to own a restaurant in Portland, and Joanna tells us what it's like to be the token Vegetarian in the band.  Mark Ibold from Pavement also comes up in coversation, and Stephen tells us one of the best tidbits we've ever heard about Pok Pok chef (and former podcast guest) Andy Ricker before completely proving our thesis in the last 30 seconds of the podcast.
