In today's episode of The Five Stack, we witnessed history in the making as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney delivered what can only be described as a Churchill-esque address announcing the severing of economic and security ties with Trump's America.

In an unprecedented move that has sent shockwaves through global markets, PM Carney announced that "the era of deep economic, security and military ties between Canada and the United States is over." The president of the United States is insane. There's no other explanation for deliberately tanking the world's leading economy, then "saving" it through what appears to be the most public pump-and-dump scheme ever executed.

Don't take my word for it. Tom Lee from a major research firm reports fund managers are questioning the White House's rationality: "Some even fear there may be no ideology. A few have quietly wondered if the president might be insane."

He's not insane. He's criminal. And with the Supreme Court's immunity gift, he's operating with impunity.

4. Mark Carney's Financial Checkmate

Mark Carney just schooled Trump in economic warfare. As one of America's biggest creditors, Canada began strategically selling US Treasury bonds. When you owe someone $350 billion, they have leverage.

Japan, China, and other major debt holders followed suit, creating a slow bleed of American dollars that forced Trump to backpedal on tariffs.

Meanwhile, Carney flipped the script on Trump's "national security threat" nonsense, correctly identifying America as the true threat to Canada through its exports of guns, drugs, and social media-amplified hate.

After cratering markets, the White House priorities turned to... shower pressure. The "Undoing the Left's War on Water Pressure" executive order declared that "no longer will shower heads be weak and worthless."

5️⃣ Trump Backtracks on Tariffs While Claiming Victory

After wiping out nearly $10 trillion in market value and sending the global economy into panic, Trump suddenly announced a 90-day pause on most tariffs while keeping the 125% China tariffs. He had the audacity to call this "the most important day in financial history" as markets bounced back from his self-inflicted catastrophe.

What actually happened? Japan and Canada began dumping U.S. bonds, Goldman Sachs warned of a 65% recession probability, and Trump's financial advisors finally got through his thick skull. But instead of admitting failure, he portrayed himself as the hero who "saved" the markets he just destroyed. Pure Trump theater.

The road from MAGA devotee to democracy defender is rarely traveled. Our conversation with Lev Parnas revealed the pivotal moments that transformed him from Trump's Ukraine operative into one of democracy's most compelling witnesses.

5️⃣ SOVIET REFUGEE ORIGINS: THE PERFECT MIDDLEMAN

Parnas's story begins with his 1975 journey from Soviet Ukraine as a Jewish refugee. As he explained, "In 1976, the Russian president decided that he's gonna get rid of the Jews... and started sending all of us to Israel." 2️⃣ BILL BARR'S SETUP: THE CALCULATED SILENCING

Perhaps the most explosive revelation from our interview was how Bill Barr personally orchestrated Parnas's arrest to silence him before he could testify to Congress. "The day of my arrest, Bill Barr flew—the Attorney General of the United States of America flew to New York to the Southern district office to oversee my arrest," Parnas told us.

This wasn't a routine arrest of fleeing suspects. "We weren't fleeing anywhere," Parnas explained. "Rudy, Victoria Toensing, and Joe diGenova were all supposed to be on that flight to Vienna with us. At the last minute, they all canceled."

The Vienna trip wasn't an escape—it was a mission to obtain alleged evidence against Hunter Biden. "We were flying to Vienna to meet Alexander Kwasniewski, who was the CFO of Burisma," Parnas revealed. His urgent call to action: don't wait until 2026 to flip the House. "Six, seven people. Six, seven souls could change, save our democracy," by giving Hakeem Jeffries the gavel now.

Mark Carney stood in the Oval Office yesterday and completely outmaneuvered Donald Trump while Trump had no idea it was happening. As we discussed on today's show: "Mark Carney destroyed Donald Trump in world record time yesterday. He was so efficient... absolute master class."

The brilliance was in Carney's opening statement, which we analyzed: "Thank you for your hospitality and above all, for your leadership. You're a transformational president..." Notice he didn't say "excellent leadership" or that the transformation was positive. Pure tactical ambiguity that sailed over Trump's head.

When Trump claimed America does little business with Canada, Carney countered: "If I may, we're your biggest client. $600 billion worth of trade." As we noted on air: "There are a lot of reporters who were like, 'Did we just watch the most masterful performance in the Oval Office or in Canadian diplomatic history?' And the answer is yes."

4️⃣ CRYPTO CONSPIRACY: TRUMP'S TRILLION-DOLLAR ENDGAME

As we analyzed on today's FiveStack: "The crypto thing, getting a ton of pub... is telling what's going on inside the Trump world. I think it's falling apart." We detailed the key players: "His inner circle... Zach Whitkoff, Eric Trump... Justin Sun, who has been convicted of SEC fraud, and his platforms have been used by Hamas companies and Hezbollah to fund terrorist activity."

We uncovered how "the money that he has already taken in... just on transaction fees alone, between $600 and $700 million for the Trump family." It's not just enrichment but potential control: "When crypto becomes the US dollar disappears, they can slide it into the Treasury. They just have to pump it up a little bit."

This scheme connects to the "PayPal mafia" including Peter Thiel, David Sachs, and Elon Musk, who we noted may have deeper ties: "There is word out there, and I tend to believe it... it's highly possible that Elon Musk is that guy [Satoshi Nakamoto]."

3️⃣ KARI LAKE REPLACES VOA WITH OAN AS 1,300 JOURNALISTS REMAIN SIDELINED

As we broke down on today's show: "Kari Lake is now running Voice of America, and she has decided to strike a deal with another news network to run their programming on VOA. It's so ridiculous. She is now allowing One America News, the most right-wing, the most extremist propaganda service in the entire world."

VOA has been offline for the first time since its 1942 founding. It's the equivalent of "firing all the teachers at a real school and saying, listen, there's not enough teachers here... So what we're going to do is we're going to bring in a whole bunch of people from prison."

This is "very, very Russian. This is very Chinese. This is very North Korean" as we discussed - destroying a legendary institution and replacing professional journalists with "dollar store versions of journalists that are there to grind out narratives for the alt right."

2️⃣ TRUMP TURNS BORDER INTO "MILITARY ZONE," TRAPPING MIGRANTS WITH TRIPLE CHARGES

The Trump administration has transformed a 60-foot strip along New Mexico's border into a "national defense area." As we explored today: "What Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump have done on the southern border is extremely serious... they've now created this national defense area."

Over 200 migrants now face triple criminal charges with penalties up to a year in jail with $100,000 fines. We highlighted defense attorney Kenneth Del Valle's question: "What if they declared your backyard was a military base tomorrow, and from one day to the next you'd have soldiers there?"

The real concern goes beyond immigration enforcement: "The American military is not allowed to operate in the United States of America unless they're on a military base," but now they've created a dangerous precedent for deploying troops on civilian land.

1️⃣ BIDEN'S CANDID CONFESSION: "IT WAS HARD TO WALK AWAY"

When white smoke billowed from the Sistine Chapel chimney today, it signaled more than just a new pontiff – it marked a historic shift in the Catholic Church's 2,000-year European tradition.

Chicago-born Cardinal Robert Prevost, 69, is now Pope Leo XIV, becoming the first American to ascend to the papacy. His dual US-Peruvian citizenship helped overcome the Vatican's longstanding reluctance to select an American pope due to concerns about US geopolitical influence.

"This is a big, big news that he's an American," noted Zev during our discussion. "The conclave has spoken, he'll be around for a while, and he's the first American pope in 2000 years."

While considered a centrist who's slightly more conservative on LGBTQ issues than Pope Francis, Prevost is expected to continue his predecessor's progressive agenda on environment, migration, and social justice. His selection after just two days of conclave is notably quick – a sign of decisive agreement among cardinals.

MAGA figures like Laura Loomer immediately attacked the new pope, calling him "a total Marxist" – suggesting his papacy may become another front in America's culture wars.

4️⃣ TRUMP REPLACES CONTROVERSIAL DC PROSECUTOR ED MARTIN

After 15 tumultuous weeks, Trump's loyalist US Attorney Ed Martin has been removed before Senate confirmation, following sustained criticism of his targeting Trump's perceived enemies.

Martin, who had no prior experience as a prosecutor, sparked controversy by firing or demoting career prosecutors, particularly those who worked on Capitol riot cases. He dismissed approximately 1,600 pending January 6 cases and Democrats accused him of violating legal ethics by attempting to freeze Biden climate grant funds against career prosecutors' recommendations.

"He was just basically a hired gun going after Trump's political opponents," Zev observed. "It's good that he's gone. He was also one of the big organizers of January the 6th, which places him right in the middle of a crime."

Trump told reporters he hopes to place Martin elsewhere in his administration, with a new nominee for DC's top prosecutor to be announced "within two days." This removal coincided with Trump's controversial appointment of Casey Means – who never completed medical school or residency – as Surgeon General.

3️⃣ KEY WITNESS IN DIDDY TRIAL MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEARS

Federal prosecutors revealed they cannot locate "Victim 3" – a crucial witness expected to testify about coerced explicit acts in Sean "Diddy" Combs' sex trafficking trial.

As jury selection continues, prosecutors disclosed they're struggling to reach both the witness and her lawyer, who is reportedly dealing with undisclosed "personal issues." The prosecution warned the court that Victim 3 "does not live locally" and "may not show up, even if we try to enforce the subpoena."

"Where is victim number three and what does it mean for this big trial?" Dean asked, highlighting the potential impact on the case. Online speculation ranges from witness intimidation to payoffs, with social media users suggesting she either "got paid to disappear" or worse.

The mysterious disappearance threatens to weaken the government's case against the disgraced music mogul, whose trial has parallels to the Jeffrey Epstein case in its allegations of honeypotting, drugs, and exploitation of young people at lavish parties.

2️⃣ BIDEN BLASTS TRUMP'S FIRST 100 DAYS IN TV APPEARANCE

Former President Joe Biden delivered a forceful critique of his successor during an appearance on ABC's "The View" with Dr. Jill Biden, calling Trump's first 100 days in office "the worst any president's ever had."

Biden defended his own legacy while dismissing claims of cognitive decline that led to his withdrawal from the presidential race. "They are wrong," Biden stated. "There is nothing to sustain that." Dr. Biden added that reports claiming she insulated her husband were "very hurtful, especially from some of our so-called friends."

The former president revealed he speaks frequently with Kamala Harris, saying "she's got a difficult decision to make about what she's going to do," while noticeably sidestepping questions about his current relationship with Barack Obama.

"I think it's both," Dean said when asked if this was a reputation reclamation tour or democracy defense. "He's also trying to insert some common sense and some calm into the conversation around the damage that Donald Trump is doing."

1️⃣ TRUMP'S UK "TRADE DEAL" NOTHING MORE THAN A CONCEPT

Despite Trump's grandiose announcement of a "historic" and "comprehensive" trade agreement with the United Kingdom, experts quickly dismissed it as little more than a minimal tariff adjustment and photo opportunity.

The "deal" – which Trump admitted is merely a "concept of a plan" to be put on paper "in the next few weeks" – removes his 25% tariffs on British steel and aluminum and allows 100,000 UK-made vehicles tariff-free. It includes vague technological cooperation promises and a commitment from a British airline to purchase $10 billion in Boeing aircraft.

"This is not a trade deal. This is the opposite of a trade deal," Dean emphasized. "It's comprehensive in name only." Economist Justin Wolfers pointed out the limited significance, noting the UK is only America's 11th largest trading partner, representing just 3% of US trade.

Missing from the announcement: comprehensive services access, investment protections, digital trade frameworks, labor standards, environmental protections, and actual treaty text. Even UK officials were reportedly surprised by Trump's characterization of the preliminary discussions as a completed agreement.

5️⃣ TRUMP NAMES PIRRO AS DC PROSECUTOR

Fox News personality Jeanine Pirro has been appointed as interim U.S. Attorney for Washington D.C., replacing Ed Martin whose nomination was withdrawn after Senate Republican opposition. Her past includes promoting election fraud claims that cost Fox News $787.5 million in the Dominion settlement.

"She is the same Jeanine Pirro who, if you remember, at the start of COVID, missed the first 15 minutes of her show, magically appeared, disheveled, slurring, and absolutely hammered on boxed wine," Dean noted during our conversation.

Pirro's appointment exemplifies Trump's approach to staffing critical positions - prioritizing loyalty over qualifications. With 23 former Fox News personalities now in administration roles, these appointments form a pattern where personal devotion trumps competence. As Zev observed, "She's the person who's responsible now for prosecution, for making indictment decisions... The entire insurrection, 1,600 cases - that all came out of Washington D.C. And now she's the person responsible for that."

4️⃣ WELLNESS INFLUENCER NOMINATED FOR SURGEON GENERAL

Trump's nomination of 37-year-old Casey Means as Surgeon General has shocked the medical community. With an inactive medical license since 2019 and an incomplete residency, Means has built her career as a wellness influencer promoting supplements to her 765,000 Instagram followers.

Her wellness approach includes unconventional methods like seeking relationship advice from trees and "manifesting a husband with shrooms and meditation." In her own words: "I hiked alone and talked literally out loud to the trees, letting them know I was ready for partnership and asked them if they could help."

Even former Surgeon General Richard Carmona criticized the nomination: "In every previous surgeon general, they've got the license, they've gotten the residency, they have at least some leadership ability that's scalable. We don't see any of that here."

3️⃣ TRUMP SURRENDERS TO CHINA BEFORE TRADE TALKS

In a special FiveStack episode, Lev Parnas took viewers on a remarkable journey through Brighton Beach, the Brooklyn neighborhood where he grew up after immigrating from Ukraine. Walking the streets where Russian and Ukrainian immigrants settled in the 1970s and 80s, Parnas offered rare first-hand insights into the community that became a significant nexus in the Trump-Russia story.

"This is primarily where we all immigrated in the 1970s and 80s as prosecuted Jews from the Soviet Union," Parnas explained, pointing out the apartment buildings, shops, and restaurants that formed this vibrant enclave. In a surprising revelation, Parnas shared that he worked for Fred Trump as a teenager, selling co-ops in the Trump buildings that still stand in the neighborhood today.

The tour vividly illustrated how this melting pot of Russian, Ukrainian, and other former Soviet immigrants created a cultural bridge that would later become central to Trump's business and political relationships. "The beauty of Brighton Beach is it was just a mixture of everything. You have Jews, Catholic, Christians, Russians, Uzbek, Kazakh, but we all related as ones," Parnas reflected as he navigated the familiar streets.

As Parnas guided viewers through a Russian supermarket filled with traditional foods, he reflected on his extraordinary personal journey from Trump confidant to democracy advocate. When asked about whether he had regrets about turning against Trump, especially after his 2024 victory, Parnas was unequivocal.

"I got a lot of calls from people inside Trump that were like, 'Oh, you see, you should have just waited a little longer. Oh, why don't you, you know, you could get back into his good graces,'" Parnas revealed. "I thought about that. I said, it was never about that. It was about right or wrong."

This remarkable transformation reflects Parnas's evolving understanding of Trump's true intentions. "Even when I was with Trump, as crazy as it sounds, I thought I was doing the right thing. I thought I was helping save our democracy," he explained. "And when I realized it wasn't the case, I tried to do the right thing again, this time being on the right side of history."

Walking along the famous boardwalk, Parnas warned about the invisible power structures supporting Trump's administration. "The crazy part is the ones that you don't see," he cautioned. "The people that are spending the $5 million for these gold cards that Latina keeps talking about. I want to see who these people are."

Parnas emphasized the worsening authoritarian trajectory ahead: "It's going to get worse before it gets better because this guy is out for not only vengeance and revenge, but he's figured out that he has certain power that's not being controlled or being held accountable for."
