| S4- E12 || The Storm Before The Calm - Why Persistence Is Especially Key For Young Female Athletes - | 22 Sep 2024 | 01:16:45 | |
M11 Track Club's Ava Lloyd joins the podcast to share her journey to her success over the past season. Ava placed 5th in the World U20 1500m Championships, took 2 National titles across the 800m (indoors) and 1500m, and competed in several international meets. Although despite some very impressive PB's and a lot of success this year it has not been plane sailing and rainbows for Ava. Like many, Ava battled with several years of the dreaded 'Runners Plateau', before coming out the other side. In her case this was a result of her changing body, something which many teenage girls struggle with and could be a reason in the high drop out rates of girls in the sport. Ava's approach to adversity is inspiring and motivating, as she demonstrates where grit, determination, and trusting the process can get you. #femaleathlete #runner #mindset | |||
