First Sound with Andrew Kay
Andrew Kay
Frequency: 1 episode/0d. Total Eps: 1

What's the first sound you remember?
A mother's voice, rain on a roof, a song on the radio?
On First Sound, Nad Yoga founder, musician, sound healer and teacher Andrew Kay sits down with musicians, doctors, authors, and people from every walk of life to explore how sound and music shape who we are. Each conversation begins with a guest's first sound and ends with the last sound they'd like to hear. In between: creativity, spirituality, healing, and the moments that changed everything.
Who you will hear from
Musicians on how music shaped their lives and creative process. Doctors, therapists, and practitioners using sound to support individuals and communities. Authors, researchers, and teachers exploring vibration, consciousness, and meaning. And people from unexpected professions who found that sound changed the way they work and live.
About Andrew Kay
Andrew Kay is a Toronto-based saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, educator, and sound healing practitioner & teacher. He is among the first musicians in the world to perform North Indian classical music on the alto saxophone, and has performed on stages around the globe with world-renowned maestros, including with the Juno-nominated Indo-Jazz ensemble Monsoon and is featured on the Grammy winning Album Immersed by Justin Gray. He is also an Associate Teacher with the Sound Healing Academy. Andrew hosts First Sound to explore the question that sits beneath all his work: what happens when we truly listen deeply?
About Nad Yoga
Nad Yoga was founded upon Andrew's sound healing practice, offering one-on-one sessions, group sound baths, and practitioner trainings through the Sound Healing Academy. The name comes from "nada," the Sanskrit word for sound and flow, and the work draws on singing bowls, tuning forks, drums, voice, woodwinds, and the traditions of Indian raga. Nad Yoga provides experiences, trainings, instruments, and tools to help people find their own unique path of transformation through sound and music.
