If you have a GSD puppy that is BARKING you need to stop this NOW. These are difficult dogs and once they hit 18months become almost impossible to work with!
They typically aren't easy family pets and often rehomed or put down due to aggressive behaviour.

How to Grieve Your Dog- with Special Guest Erica from Wolfies Wish12 nov. 202300:47:37

This episode interviews Erica from Wolfies Wish- a specialty company that helps owners mourn the loss of their beloved pets.

This topic is close to my heart as I lost Sky  July 2023 and it really was exceptionally hard- despite that I knew it was a long time coming and I have lost many animals before. (I do crack a little bit in the first minutes). She now has a little shrine near the front door where her chair used to be.

My favourite hello and the hardest goodbye.

Understanding OCD & Displacement Behaviours in Dogs17 mai 202200:15:07

Displacement behaviour is when an animal offers a different behaviour out of context- usually due to a stressful situation. This can be scratching, chewing feet, spinning, chasing shadows, digging, humping etc. When it starts to appear without a stressor added this is similar to OCD in humans.

Its rare that I see OCD to be honest but it's fixable! It's not a born with condition and doesn't need medications to stop it- just training!

Nervous Dog? You Need to Listen!11 févr. 202200:20:28

If you have a nervous dog that finds it hard to deal with new experiences then you need to advocate for that dog. Before a dog develops nervous aggression or similar traits we need to read the body language and help him out. A lot of dogs become reactive when they're not being listened to - and that's other dogs as well as us as the owner!

What to Address Before You Start ANY Training05 févr. 202200:11:10

To follow on from my last podcast about what I look for before training outside, these are things I look for before we begin any session. It tells me how much training the dog has had, how anxious they are, even if I will need a muzzle that day!

If you have any problem behaviour and your dog does any of these 3 things you need to address them first. They will help you massively! And they are dead simple.

(Sorry about the background noise I'm extremely fidgety!!)

What You Need to Work on Before Outdoor Training (pulling/ barking/ aggression)03 févr. 202200:12:38

In my first episode I’m talking about what to address first before you take your dog outside to work on their problems.

It doesn’t matter if it’s pulling or aggression, there’s 3 points to look at and improve beforehand and if your dog does need training outside then this will be useful for you to look at too.
