Welcome to Faith & Work. Today I briefly share the story of how this podcast was born.

Faith Around the World: Nigeria with Christian Idoga02 Jun 202600:35:55

In this powerful episode of Faith and Work, Carole sits down with Christian Idoga, an educator, leader, and mentor based in Nigeria, whose life and work are deeply rooted in his faith in Jesus Christ.

Christian shares how his passion for education and discipleship is driven by a simple but profound belief: many of the struggles we face in life are not just about circumstances, but about understanding. Through his work in education and his “Business from a Biblical Perspective” teaching, he is committed to helping others grow in both knowledge and faith so they can walk in purpose and freedom.

Together, Carole and Christian explore what it truly looks like to integrate faith into every area of life...from business and leadership to family and personal growth. Christian challenges the idea that faith and work should be separate, instead emphasizing that our identity in Christ should shape how we think, lead, and build.

He also shares deeply personal parts of his journey, how his relationship with God developed over time, how Scripture became his foundation for understanding life and success, and even a life-threatening moment that revealed the power and protection of God in a very real way.

One of the most powerful themes of this conversation is the idea of access, that the greatest miracle is not just what God can do for us, but the relationship we have with Him through Jesus. When we shift our focus from chasing results to seeking Christ, everything about how we live and work begins to change.

This episode is a meaningful reminder that:

  • Our greatest need is not more success, but deeper understanding
  • Our work is an extension of who we are in Christ
  • And the most valuable thing we have isn’t what we achieve, but the access we’ve been given to God

Whether you’re navigating your career, leading others, building something new, or simply trying to grow in your faith, this conversation will challenge you to think differently about purpose, identity, and what it means to truly live out your faith in your work.

What Can Church Culture Learn From Corporate Culture? Ep. 3726 May 202600:42:25

What can the modern church learn from corporate leadership culture  and what can corporate culture learn from Scripture?

In today’s episode, Carole Evans tackles a topic she has researched and reflected on for months: the growing disconnect between healthy organizational leadership and church culture.

Through personal stories, leadership experience, biblical examples, and research into why people leave churches, Carole explores:

  • Leadership accountability
  • Feedback systems in churches
  • Church staff burnout
  • Leadership development in ministry
  • Financial accountability
  • Delegation and structure
  • Biblical leadership models
  • Church communication and transparency

This episode centers around Exodus 18 and the leadership advice Jethro gave Moses,  reminding us that God never intended for leaders to carry the burden alone.

How to Rest In Middle of a Busy Season Ep. 2510 Mar 202600:34:04

Why do so many of us feel exhausted even when we’re doing good work?

In this solo episode of Faith and Work, Carole Evans explores the biblical rhythm of work and rest and why both are essential to living the life God designed.

Drawing from the creation story in Genesis and practical experiences from everyday life, Carole discusses how busy seasons can easily pull us away from what matters most. She shares why intentionally scheduling rest is not a luxury  it’s a spiritual discipline that helps us stay grounded, present, and aligned with God’s purpose.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by responsibilities, distracted by constant activity, or tempted to measure your worth by what you accomplish, this conversation offers a refreshing reminder: our value isn’t found in productivity, but in our identity in Christ.

This episode will encourage you to slow down, refocus, and rediscover the peace that comes from living with intentional rhythms of work and rest.

How to Live Out Your Faith Without Words Ep. 2110 Feb 202600:21:15

What does it look like to live out your faith when you can’t talk about it?

In this episode, we explore how faith is often revealed not through words, but through the way we show up with our character, our integrity, our work ethic, and the way we love others. When conversations about God aren’t welcomed or allowed, our lives can still preach a powerful message.

Drawing from key passages in the New Testament, we unpack how Jesus modeled a faith that was seen before it was spoken and how we can do the same in our homes, workplaces, and everyday relationships.

If you’ve ever wrestled with how to honor God in environments where faith feels quiet or constrained, this episode will encourage you to remember: your faith is still visible, even when it’s not verbal.

When Her Healing Became Her Calling: Elizabeth Sullivan Ep. 2003 Feb 202600:32:22

From growing up in Russia to re-entering life in America, walking through tragedy in her college years, and ultimately stepping into the work she does today. Our past can become preparation for the work He's calling us to do right now.

How To Stay Focused at Work With a Clear Mission Ep. 1927 Jan 202600:19:34

In today’s episode, I’m sharing why having a personal mission statement has become such an important anchor in my own faith and work journey.

This conversation isn’t about control or productivity, it’s about identity. It’s about understanding who you are in Christ and allowing that truth to guide how you show up in your work, your relationships, and the everyday decisions that shape your life.

I reflect on how mission statements are often used in organizations to create clarity and direction and why that same clarity matters just as much on a personal level. Looking back, I can see how defining my mission sooner would have brought focus, shortened difficult conversations, and helped me stay aligned during demanding seasons.

Psalm 119:105 reminds us, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” A personal mission statement doesn’t replace God’s leading it helps us walk more faithfully in the light He’s already given, especially when life feels noisy or overwhelming.

My hope is that this episode encourages you to slow down, reflect, and begin crafting a mission statement rooted in faith one that reflects your values, invites accountability, and keeps you grounded in every role and season God calls you into.

And if you do write your mission statement, I’d love to hear it. You can text it to 615-669-3209. I’d be honored to read it and cheer you on as you live with greater clarity and intention.

They talk about how financial stress, parenting, and everyday pressure created distance, even without major conflict. Together, they reflect on recognizing the drift, choosing intentional connection, and remembering that marriage is a covenant worth fighting for. This conversation offers hope for anyone who feels disconnected and needs a reminder that reconnection is possible.

In this episode, we take a closer look at how Jesus intentionally brought together people who couldn’t have been more different and how He entrusted them with the greatest mission of all: sharing the gospel with the world.

What does that mean for us today? In a culture that often divides over differences, this episode challenges us to embrace the table Jesus has invited us to and recognize the seats of those around us. Buried, Not Broken with Mia Godfrey Ep. 2831 Mar 202600:50:14

What does it really mean to start over, in a new country, a new language, and a completely different work culture?

In this episode of Faith & Work, I sit down with my dear friend Mia Godfrey, who shares her powerful journey from Romania to America and the quiet strength it took to rebuild her life from the ground up.

Mia opens up about growing up in Romania, where community, family, and dignity in work were deeply woven into everyday life and how different that felt when she arrived in the United States. From navigating language barriers to facing cultural misunderstandings that often felt dismissive or disrespectful, Mia shares honestly about the challenges of adapting to American work culture.

Throughout it all, faith became her anchor. We talk about how trusting God in unfamiliar spaces gave her the courage to keep showing up, how vulnerability creates real connection, and why welcoming others especially those who feel unseen can change the course of someone’s life.

Mia’s story is one of resilience, grace, and hope, beautifully captured in her book Buried Not Broken. This conversation is a reminder that our differences are not weaknesses and that faith, when lived out, can bridge cultures, workplaces, and hearts.

✨ If you’ve ever felt like an outsider, struggled to find your place, or wondered how faith shows up in hard seasons this episode is for you.
