Ed Kull was introduced as a the new Athletic Director at a press conference on Tuesday, September 17, Dave shares his thoughts from the day. Frank is back on the pod as talk about the hire, what it means for the future of St. John's and why there's realized pressure on Ed right away.

The 20 game round robin in the Big East is what makes it one of the best conferences in the country and St. John's will have to navigate it once again. On episode 12 St. John's great Julian Champagnie sits down with David Berov as they go through his time from 2019 to covid-19 to draft day.

Julian talks about his first NBA combine after his Sophomore year, the wrist injury that brought him back to St. John's, the ups and downs of his final year, and the draft process this past April.   (31:42) After going undrafted he immediately got a phone call from the 76ers who gave him a two way deal. What was draft night like, why Philadelphia and what's next?

Julian talks about the development of Joel Soriano and Posh Alexander becoming leaders, his take on David Jones from playing against him at DePaul to what he'll bring to St. John's this year.  We also discuss Red Storm priority recruit Brandon Williams,  and his own assessment of the roster for this upcoming season. St. John's is back from their International Trip to the Dominican Republic and we break it all down. What were our takeaways from the three games, who stood out? We spoke to members of the team, administration, coaches and got some great information about the week long bonding experience.

Who is Joel Soriano? That's the question we start to answer. We spoke to former and current coaches, teammates, and those who have watched him grow into the man he is today. Where does the work ethic come from, what are his future goals, and how will he help get St. John's to the tournament this season?

We discuss his dominance in the Dominican Republic during the international trip, his relationship with David Jones, and how he's stepping into the leadership role. All that and more from the man him self!

On today's episode we are joined by another all-time great in St. John's basketball history. One of the greatest scorers to wear a Red Storm jersey, Marcus Hatten talks to Dave and Billy about his incredible two years under Head Coach Mike Jarvis.

How did he handle being the straw that stirs the drink during two post-season runs? Amazing stories like playing against John Linehan and hitting the game winning free throw against Duke in 2003. Hatten also speaks about his time overseas, his mentorship program and being a sounding board for past and current Johnnies.

(17:12) We chat with Chris Huey about his days at the University of Kansas, his legendary playing time as the only Manager to ever suit up, and how it feels to be called a "savant" by Coach Bill Self.

We then transition into his St. John's days and learn all about what it takes to run a program from behind the scenes. Huey shares his thoughts on being on two staff's, first under Chris Mullin and now with Coach Anderson as well as what REALLY happened on March 12th, 2020 in what would be the last game to be played for a very long time. Chris shares some crazy travel stories from plane delays to bomb threats, and tons of details from the nitty gritty of St. John's Basketball.

4 Star PF Brandon Gardner has committed to Coach Mike Anderson and the St. John's Red Storm! Gardner is a consensus top 100 recruit and the highest ranked recruit in the Mike Anderson era in Queens. 

We're joined by Zach Braziller of the NY Post to break down the commitment, what kind of player Gardner is and just what this means for the staff and the future for St. John's.

Zach also gives his thoughts on the upcoming 2022 squad including how Andre Curbelo, David Jones, and highly rated freshman A.J. Storr will fit in.
