LEARNING THE BASICS WITH FILIPINO SIGN LANGUAGE

Express yourself differently with a deaf friend by learning a few phrases in Filipino Sign Language (FSL)!  And did you know that besides signing, making facial expressions is an important part of FSL, as the Deaf encourage expressing one’s self.

FSL has been recognized as the national sign language of the Filipino Deaf through the Filipino Sign Language Act in October 2018. The law mandates that FSL be used in transactions with the Deaf and as the language of instruction for Deaf learners.

Sometimes another way of making new friends is really not to talk.

SAVING NATURE'S MYSTERY MERMAID

Dugongs are what are sometimes called mystery mermaid because of their mermaid-like features. These marine mammals oftentimes get entangled in fishing gear including fish traps and seaweed aquaculture lines which in turn threatens to reduce their population further. We need to make an effort to help this species survive!
