Tarot and the Solstice

Welcome to Season 10 of Every Day Tarot! This season, I’m exploring the rich, magical intersections between tarot and witchcraft.

What we explore in this episode:

  • The spiritual significance of the Summer and Winter Solstices in tarot and witchcraft

  • How solstice energy connects to the zodiac sign Cancer, Venus, and the Two of Cups

  • Ancient traditions that honored the height of the sun’s power and what they can teach us

  • Ways to channel solstice energy into creativity, ritual, and emotional renewal

Resources referenced in this episode:

We’ve reached a turning point in the year—the Solstice, when the sun stands still and the earth shifts its breath. It is an invitation to reflect on the light and the dark, the fullness and the stillness, and the stories unfolding in our own lives.

Whether you're basking in the radiance of the Summer Solstice or tending the quiet of the Winter Solstice, this threshold marks more than a change in season. It offers us a moment of cosmic perspective. It circles back to what we’ve planted, what we’ve harvested, and what remains unseen beneath the surface.

In the North, the Summer Solstice brings the longest day of the year, a culmination of growth, expression, and outward movement. In the South, the Winter Solstice invites us into deep rest, quiet contemplation, and the slow work of becoming.

Wherever you are in the world, this is a moment of threshold energy—a chance to ask yourself:

  • What am I carrying forward with intention?

  • What am I ready to release or compost?

  • Where is light returning in my life?

  • Where am I being called inward?

The Solstice is not about achieving a perfect balance. It’s about honoring the sacred shifts in our own cycles of becoming. It's about pausing long enough to notice: what has changed in me? What is asking to be seen, felt, or tended with care?

You are part of the earth’s breath.

And you are magic.

From The Desert Illuminations Tarot by Lindsay D. Williams, I pulled the Five of Jugs (upright). This card is a reminder that grief and hope often coexist. This card speaks to what has been lost—and what still remains. It invites gentle self-forgiveness, present-moment awareness, and the courage to look toward what is yet to grow.

Reflective prompts on this card:

  • What past disappointment am I still holding onto?

  • How can I honor my grief without letting it cloud the present?

  • What beauty or connection still remains, even if it looks different than I expected?

Tarot & Astrology

Welcome to Season 10 of Every Day Tarot! This season, I’m exploring the rich, magical intersections between tarot and witchcraft—and we’re kicking things off with one of my favorite overlaps: Tarot and Astrology.

What we explore in this episode:

  • An introduction to astrology and how it aligns with tarot

  • An overview of the major arcana and their assigned zodiac signs and planetary ruler-ships

  • A mini tarot spread you can do to explore your sun, moon, and rising signs using the corresponding tarot cards

  • My personal reflections on being an Aquarius sun (The Star), Virgo moon (The Hermit), and Cancer rising (The Chariot)

  • How understanding astrological associations can deepen your tarot practice

Resources referenced in this episode:

Although tarot and astrology are often studied separately,

they speak a shared language. The earliest tarot decks contained a lot of planetary and cosmic references—The Sun, The Moon, and The Star cards are some of the clearest examples.

Over time, mystics and philosophers began to notice deeper symbolic parallels, assigning astrological equivalents to each card, especially the major arcana.

One of the most widely used systems for this comes from the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, which matched each of the 22 major arcana cards with planets or zodiac signs. These connections add powerful layers of meaning to tarot readings used to explore your astrological birth chart.

In this episode, I referenced the book Tarot and Astrology: Enhance Your Readings with the Wisdom of the Zodiac by Corrine Kenner, which offers a really thoughtful breakdown of these associations. It’s a great read if you’re looking for a framework that blends structure with intuition. This book might be a good place to start!

Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia Burrington, I pulled the Two of Swords reversed, a card that speaks to mental overwhelm, hesitation, and the pressure of choice. In its upright form, the Two of Swords often represents a moment of stillness—sitting with a difficult decision, weighing two paths, seeking balance. But in reverse, that clarity feels harder to access.

Reflective prompts on this card:

  • What stories am I telling myself about ‘right’ vs. ‘wrong’ choices?

  • Am I trying to protect myself by not choosing?

  • What am I afraid might happen if I did?

    King of Cups18 Jun 202500:25:42

    King of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • How the King of Cups teaches us emotional regulation, compassionate leadership, and quiet strength

    • Symbolism across decks: calm waters, golden chalices, and poised composure

    • What it means to lead with empathy while honoring your own boundaries

    • The nuanced power of restraint, strategy, and grounded generosity

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we close out Season 9 with the King of Cups—our final card in the Suit of Cups. The King represents emotional wisdom earned through experience. He doesn’t run from his feelings, but he doesn’t let them control him either. Instead, he models what it looks like to respond with intention and grace, even in challenging emotional waters.

This is a card of deep presence, thoughtful diplomacy, and service without self-abandonment. The King of Cups reminds us that emotional leadership means holding space for others without losing sight of ourselves. It asks: 'Are you offering support to others from a place of self-respect and clarity, or are you overextending yourself to keep the peace?'

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Orator (upright). This card speaks to communication and confidence. The Orator reminds us that your words carry weight, but so does your intention. Speaking from a place of grounded emotional awareness helps others hear you more clearly. If you’ve been holding back out of fear or discomfort, now is a good time to write down what you want to say and trust your voice.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What does emotional strength mean to me?

    • Where in my life am I being called to lead with both heart and mind?

    • How can I speak up while still staying anchored in compassion?

    Queen of Cups18 Jun 202500:24:04

    Queen of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Queen of Cups as a card of emotional depth, compassion, and intuitive wisdom

    • Symbolism across decks: calm waters, container held with care, gentle, steady presence

    • How this card teaches us to hold space for ourselves and others without drowning in emotional overwhelm

    • The importance of honoring feelings as sacred, creative, and wise sources of guidance

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we meet one of the most nurturing, deeply attuned figures in the tarot, the Queen of Cups. This card reminds us that strength doesn’t always roar. Sometimes, it hums gently beneath the surface. She sits near the edge of the ocean, but is not pulled in against her will.

The queen's throne is grounded, her cup is full, and she knows when to offer compassion and when to protect her peace. This card asks us to honor our emotional experiences without letting them rule us, and to recognize that deep feeling is not weakness.

    • Season 8 - Suit of Swords

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Scholar (upright). This card represents investigation, study, and thoughtful problem-solving. The Scholar reminds us to approach things with care and curiosity. When emotions feel tangled or life feels unclear, it may be time to step back, reassess, and engage with what’s unfolding from a more reflective place. Wisdom comes not just from knowing, but from listening, researching, and approaching challenges with humility and care.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What might emotional intelligence look like when paired with inquiry and structure?

    • Where in your life are you being asked to lead with calm, and what must be said out-loud?

    • Where might I be over-caretaking or losing myself in others’ needs?

    Knight of Cups16 Jun 202500:19:46

    Knight of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Knight of Cups as a romantic messenger, an emotional risk-taker, and an embodiment of heart-led action

    • How this card invites us to explore our fantasies, inner landscapes, and dreams

    • Symbolism across decks: charm, love in motion, knight on horseback, flirtatious energy

    • What it means to pursue desire and express love in active, embodied ways

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, the Knight of Cups calls us toward vulnerability and intentional pursuit of what moves the heart. Often seen as the most romantic of the court cards, this Knight doesn’t just dream, he acts on his dreams. He makes offers, initiates connection, and takes emotional risks.

Whether he’s chasing art, love, or divine inspiration, he is willing to move with grace even when the outcome is uncertain. This card is a reminder that being emotionally brave isn’t about never feeling fear—it’s about showing up anyway, cup in hand.

The Knight asks: what would it look like to follow your heart, even if you don’t know where it will take you?

    • Season 7 - Suit of Pentacles

    • Season 8 - Suit of Swords

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Witch (upright). This card is all about experimentation and rebellion. It encourages us to break away from outdated systems, beliefs, or expectations—especially the ones that stifle our emotional truth. The Witch reminds us that magic lives in invention, in questioning the old ways, and in choosing to live authentically. Emotional vulnerability can be its own kind of rebellion. Your heart doesn’t need permission. It just needs practice.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where are you being asked to lead with your heart instead of your logic?

    • What rituals or traditions no longer feel aligned, and how might you invent your own?

    • How can you allow your emotions to inspire creativity rather than control your direction?

    Page of Cups13 Jun 202500:38:00

    Page of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Page of Cups as an invitation to listen to our inner child, honor emotional honesty, and rediscover the magic in sensitivity

    • Symbolism across decks: keys, cups, water, intuition, emotional openness, and imaginative play

    • How feelings like rage, sorrow, joy, and wonder can become fuel for creative acts, activism, and collective healing

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, the Page of Cups invites us to return to the emotional truths we knew as children before the world taught us to suppress them. This card speaks to soulful sensitivity, intuitive insight, and creative expression.

We talk about the joy of playful exploration, the power of emotional courage, and the importance of allowing yourself to feel without shame. Whether you are navigating grief or standing in protest, the Page reminds you that your emotions can be a source of strength and vision.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Hound (upright). This card asks us to examine the commitments we've made, especially the ones rooted in love, protection, or long-standing duty. Are those promises still aligned with your truth? Sometimes what begins as devotion turns into self-sacrifice. Sometimes, keeping our word comes at the cost of our own voice.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What promise have I made that no longer feels good in my body?

    • Am I being loyal out of love or fear?

    • Where do I need to choose myself again?

  • Ten of Cups12 Jun 202500:18:34

    Ten of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Ten of Cups as emotional wholeness, collective joy, and the vision of belonging

    • Symbolism across decks: rainbows, contentment, harmony

    • How idealized images of happiness can both inspire and mislead

    • Why genuine connection requires space for both delight and discomfort

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, the Ten of Cups invites us into the dream of fulfillment, but not without discernment. It asks us to reflect on the meaning of 'happily ever after.' This card often paints a picture of perfect family, or joyful community. And while that’s a beautiful vision, it’s important to remember that real intimacy includes challenge, conflict, and imperfection.

Harmony doesn't happen by chance, and joy doesn't cancel out nuances, because togetherness shouldn't be performative. It’s built through shared effort, deep care, and a willingness to hold space for the full range of emotion. The Ten of Cups asks: What does wholeness look like when we stop trying to make it look perfect?

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Painter (upright). This is a card of productivity, creativity, and the courageous act of turning vision into reality.

The Painter encourages you to embrace your role as a co-creator of the world around you. Just as a mural is built brushstroke by brushstroke, the life you want is shaped by small, daily acts of hope, expression, and presence.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What would it mean to claim what I need, even if others don’t approve?

    • Where have I let fear of judgment hold me back from taking action?

    • What would change if I let myself want more, and go after it?

    Nine of Cups11 Jun 202500:08:00

    Nine of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Nine of Cups as a symbol of emotional satisfaction, pleasure, and the joy of embodiment

    • Symbolism across decks: cups arranged like banquet tables, figures at rest, comfort, and fulfillment

    • Why this card is often called the “wish card” and how it invites us to receive with gratitude

    • The difference between indulgence and appreciation, and how to recognize when your emotional needs are truly met

    • An invitation to savor what is, while gently noticing the edges of longing that remain

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, the Nine of Cups brings us into a moment of deep emotional pleasure. Sometimes known as the “wish card,” this energy isn’t just about desires coming true, it’s about being present with the goodness that already exists.

There’s celebration here, but also humility. It invites you to reflect on what has already arrived. It asks you to pause and recognize the sweetness you may have once hoped for, now living quietly in your daily life. A sense of having enough and of being enough.

This card asks: Do you let yourself enjoy what you’ve created? Are you allowing yourself to receive and savor life’s small joys?

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Merchant (reversed). Upright, this card is all about Negotiation and Exchange, but reversed, it reminds us of the imbalance that happens when we’re surrounded by takers and not enough givers.

This card invites you to set firm boundaries around your time and energy. You’re not required to be emotionally generous with people who don’t reciprocate.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where in your life do you feel emotionally replenished?

    • What relationships or habits feel like a one-sided transaction?

    • What simple pleasure can you give yourself today without guilt?

    Eight of Cups10 Jun 202500:17:08

    Eight of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Eight of Cups as a card of emotional departure, necessary endings, and spiritual quests

    • Symbolism across decks: turning away, cutting losses, and walking away

    • How to honor grief, clarity, and personal truth when the familiar no longer fulfills

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, the Eight of Cups guides us through the quiet ache of letting go. It’s not just about endings, it’s about choosing to move forward, even when there’s no guarantee of what’s next. This card reflects the sacred pause between loss and discovery, asking: What emotional truth are you finally ready to face? What dream, relationship, or version of yourself are you being asked to release?

Sometimes we stay too long, hoping things will change. The Eight of Cups offers us another option: the path of trusting that something more aligned is waiting, even if we can’t yet see it. Walking away isn’t failure, it’s devotion to your deeper becoming.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Dancer (upright). This card is about Self-Revelation and Confidence. The Dancer moves with elegance and conviction, but not without effort. It honors the strength it takes to trust your body, your path, and your intuition.

This card reminds you that even when you don’t feel ready, you can still move forward with grace. It asks: What part of yourself are you reclaiming through this departure?

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What emotions have you outgrown, even if you once found safety in them?

    • Where in your life are you being called to make a brave exit?

    • How can you honor grief while still trusting your next step?

    Seven of Cups09 Jun 202500:13:10

    Seven of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Seven of Cups as a portal of illusion, desire, and dream-like confusion

    • Symbolism across decks: scattered choices, wishful thinking, imagination, uncertainty

    • The energetic pull between fantasy and grounded action

    • What it means to want many things at once and how to discern what’s truly aligned

    • How to listen for truth in the fog of too many options

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we explore the dreamy and often disorienting world of the Seven of Cups, a card filled with possibility, illusion, and emotional overwhelm. This is the card of too many choices and not enough clarity. It paints a picture of a moment filled with visions and temptation—some beautiful, others deceptive. When we are offered too many cups at once, how do we know which one to drink from?

This card teaches us that not every shining thing is for us. We’re invited to pause, sift through our options with clarity, and ask what we’re truly longing for. It also reminds us that dreams require grounded action—wishing alone isn’t enough.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Merchant (reversed)—a figure tied to negotiation, reciprocity, and energy exchange. In its reversed position, it warns of people or obligations that take without giving, draining your reserves while offering little in return.

This is a clear echo of the Seven of Cups: not all offers are generous. Not all opportunities are true. You are allowed to walk away from what demands more than it gives.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Which of your current options feel emotionally satisfying and sustainable?

    • Where are you being pulled in too many directions?

    • What illusions or fantasies might be clouding your ability to choose clearly?

    Six of Cups06 Jun 202500:16:58

    Six of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Six of Cups as a return to innocence, tenderness, and emotional restoration

    • Symbolism across decks: flowers, memories, gratitude, and soulful recollection

    • How nostalgia can serve as both a doorway to healing and a trap of avoidance

    • The inner child’s longing to be remembered, nurtured, and reconnected with

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, the Six of Cups brings us into soft, sacred terrain: memory, gratitude, and the sacredness of feeling. It reminds us of the beauty we’ve known before, and encourages us to reach for it again, not as an escape, but as an anchor. Nostalgia, when grounded, can be a balm. It can guide us toward rituals, environments, or relationships that bring us back to ourselves.

But this card also challenges us not to romanticize the past to the point of avoidance. We’re asked to reclaim what was sweet without bypassing the full truth of what was. The Six of Cups is both a comfort and a mirror: What did you need then that you still need now? And how can you offer that to yourself with compassion?

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Guide (reversed). This is a card that usually symbolizes Inheritance and Collection. Reversed, this card honors the perseverance it took to navigate struggle without much help from others. It acknowledges the internal grit and self-trust built from past hardship.

This card asks: How do you want to guide yourself forward, now that you know what you know? Can you trust that your past self gave you enough to start again?

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What memories make you feel safe, soft, or seen?

    • In what ways can you reconnect with your inner child?

    • What do your past behaviors reveal about what you were trying to preserve or protect?

    Five of Cups05 Jun 202500:26:37

    Five of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • How the Five of Cups speaks to grief, disappointment, and the tension between regret and healing

    • Symbolism across decks: spilled cups, sorrowful figures, broken hearts, and overlooked blessings

    • Why this card asks us to feel our feelings fully before we can move on

    • The power of shifting perspective without bypassing what hurts

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we dive into the murky waters of the Five of Cups. This card often meets us in the aftermath or after something has gone wrong, fallen apart, or simply not worked out the way we hoped. Across decks, we often see a figure focused on spilled cups while two still stand behind them. This card sits at the heart of the suit, in the tension between heartbreak and healing.

It asks us to feel what we’re feeling fully before we move on. Not to wallow, not to bypass, but to acknowledge the pain with honesty and presence. What have we lost? What are we still holding onto? What is quietly waiting for us to notice it again?

This card doesn’t rush us into gratitude. It reminds us that transformation begins in truth. That looking at what hurts is the first step toward remembering what’s still possible.

    • Season 8 - Suit of Swords

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Brawler (reversed). In the upright position, The Brawler is about confrontation, strength, and direct action. But reversed, this card warns of unspoken tension and the emotional cost of avoiding conflict. Healing begins not with bypassing discomfort, but with facing it honestly. When we bottle things up instead of naming them, the rupture doesn’t disappear; it just waits for the next chance to spill over.

It asks: Where are you suppressing your truth in order to keep the peace? What happens when you bottle things up instead of speaking them aloud?

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What story am I still telling myself about what I’ve lost?

    • What would it take for me to turn around and see what’s still standing?

    • Where am I avoiding conflict or emotional truth in the name of “peace” and what would it feel like to gently face it?

    Four of Cups04 Jun 202500:22:12

    Four of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Four of Cups as a card of disengagement, withdrawal, and reevaluation

    • Symbolism across decks: contemplation, apathy, divine offerings, and closed eyes

    • The tension between rest and missed opportunities

    • How openness and presence allow us to receive what we need

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we sit with the contemplative space of the Four of Cups — a card that shows us what it looks like to turn inward and what we might miss when we get stuck there. Whether it’s apathy, emotional burnout, or unmet expectations, this card shows up when we need to pause and ask: ‘What am I not seeing? What wants to find me if I soften my resistance?’

There’s a difference between taking sacred space and shutting the world out. The Four of Cups reminds us to check our posture: Are we closed off from life, or are we consciously listening for something deeper to come through?

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright,  I pulled The Forgotten (reversed). In its reversed position, this card represents a painful reckoning—a sense of being overwhelmed, emotionally blocked, or trapped in a spiral of fear or hopelessness. But the reversal also carries a message: Change is coming. This moment may feel heavy, but it asks us to stop ignoring what is right in front of us. It’s a wake-up call to shift focus and choose something different.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where have I stopped listening to the quiet invitations life is offering me?

    • What have I turned away from out of fear, pain, or grief?

    • What if it’s not too late to receive the thing I thought I missed?

    Three of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Three of Cups as a celebration of joy, sisterhood, and spiritual connection

    • Symbolism across decks: community, cups raised, seasonal abundance, and sacred triads

    • The intersection of charisma, emotional healing, and shared experience

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we explore the Three of Cups as a card of joyful collaboration and meaningful community. It's more than a toast—it’s a spiritual communion, a reminder of what it means to belong.

The Three of Cups often appears during moments when we’re invited to open to joy, to create space for connection, and to trust the healing that happens when we’re seen and celebrated.

It invites us to recognize the power of community, chosen family, and shared joy. This card asks, “Who are your people?” and “How do you nourish each other?” It reminds us that joy is sacred, and that there’s room at the table, and it’s time you took your seat.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Muse (upright). This card is about vision, generosity, and celebrating what could be. The Muse is the one who brings an extra cup, makes a toast, lifts the mood, and sings a song. It asks us to see beyond the current moment and imagine what’s possible when we create together with hope and magic.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where in your life are you being invited to celebrate, even in a small way?

    • What dream feels more possible when you share it with others?

    • When was the last time you let joy lead the way?

    Two of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Two of Cups as a card of reciprocity, mutual attraction, and sacred connection

    • Symbolism across decks: mirrored figures, twins, themes of devotion, and romance

    • The difference between genuine intimacy and projection or fantasy

    • How this card helps us explore the tension between connection and codependence

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we explore the tender, relational world of the Two of Cups. Often read as a card of romance, this card is equally about how we project, receive, and reflect love.

The Two of Cups invites us to examine our emotional patterns. It doesn't just ask, 'Who do you love?' It also asks: 'Are you engaging with others from a place of reciprocity, or are you reenacting old dynamics in search of healing? Do you recognize the parts of yourself you're giving away?'

Whether between lovers, close friends, or parts of yourself, this card speaks to the sacred exchange of emotion, trust, and presence.

  • Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Shepherd (reversed). Upright, this card is a toast to shared joy, family, belonging, and celebration. Reversed, it invites you to reclaim some of that love and happiness for yourself. You may have been giving so much to others that you’ve neglected your own needs. This card offers a gentle redirection: instead of overextending, come back to center and tend to your own heart.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where am I overinvesting in others at the expense of my own well-being?

    • What kind of celebration or care have I been craving for myself lately?

    • How can I create moments of joy that don’t depend on others to be meaningful?

    Ace of Cups30 May 202500:27:43

    Ace of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Ace of Cups as an invitation into love, compassion, and creative flow

    • Symbolism across decks: overflowing vessels, compassion, water imagery, and cupped hands

    • How this card represents the start of an emotional or spiritual opening

    • The beauty of emotional honesty and the sacredness of receiving

    • Why vulnerability can be a strength, not a weakness

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we begin our exploration of the Suit of Cups with the Ace, a card that radiates love in all its forms. Whether it’s romantic, spiritual, platonic, or creative, this card signals a powerful heart-opening. It’s not always comfortable to feel this much, but it is sacred. The Ace of Cups reminds us that we are not meant to hold everything in. We are meant to feel deeply, connect authentically, and let love flow through us like water returning to the sea.

This card is especially potent if you’ve been emotionally blocked, burned out, or disconnected from yourself. It asks: What if opening your heart is the bravest thing you could do right now?

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Enchanter (upright). This card sparkles with flair, mystery, and theatrical charm. The Enchanter knows how to cast a spell—how to win over a crowd, or even themselves, through clever illusion.

When paired with the Ace of Cups, this card invites us to reflect on authenticity. Are you being genuine with your feelings, or slipping into emotional performance? Have you been masking pain behind charm or playing a role instead of showing up vulnerably?

The Enchanter reminds us that magic is real, but it doesn’t have to be fake. It can come from truth. From presence. From the courage to feel.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where am I hiding my true feelings behind a polished exterior?

    • What would it look like to enchant others with my sincerity instead of a mask?

    • How can I honor both the performer in me and the part of me that longs to be seen?

    King of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The King of Swords as a master of strategy, clarity, and intellect

    • Symbolism across decks: regal composure, mental mastery, judge, fairness

    • Why the King represents structure, authority, and reason—and the shadow of rigidity

    • How power, focus, and mental discipline can help us change systems and claim agency

    • The balance between logic and emotional avoidance, justice and detachment

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we take a close look at the King of Swords and his ability to survey the land and see beyond what's in front of him.

This card represents sovereign clarity, mental discipline, and the power to name, challenge, and change. The King doesn’t hesitate to act when the facts are clear. He isn’t afraid to cut through noise, claim authority, or stand up to outdated systems. But we also talk about the shadow side: how detachment, perfectionism, or over-identification with intellect can lead to isolation.

We reflect on the archetype of the elder, strategist, and justice-seeker. The King of Swords asks us to examine our biases, sharpen our discernment, and fix our gaze on what matters most, especially when the world is noisy, overwhelming, or full of distractions.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Forgotten (upright). This card represents missed opportunities and social invisibility. Sometimes we are so afraid of getting things wrong that we don’t try at all. The Forgotten reminds us that perfectionism and overthinking can keep us from sharing our gifts.

This card gently urges: You are not too late. You are not too much. And your ideas, your efforts, your presence? They matter. Turn your focus back toward what you care about.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What have I been too afraid to start because I might fail or look foolish?

    • Where have I silenced or sidelined myself, assuming no one wants to hear from me?

    • What’s one small way I can re-engage with something I deeply care about today?

    Queen of Swords28 May 202500:23:40

    Queen of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Queen of Swords as a figure of clarity, grace, intellect, and lived wisdom

    • Symbolism across decks: direct gaze, swords held with reverence, and clear, airy skies

    • The Queen’s ability to hold both truth and tenderness, head and heart

    • What it means to embody discernment and to lead with integrity

    • The difference between emotional detachment and healthy boundaries

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we step into the clever presence of the Queen of Swords. This card often appears when it’s time to speak the truth, cut through confusion, and lead with clarity. This Queen doesn’t sugarcoat. She invites us to hold boundaries, honor our lived experience, and resist the pressure to dilute our truth just to be liked.

We talk about the Queen as a wise elder, a keen observer, and a protector of personal sovereignty. She is sharp, but not cruel. She asks hard questions—not to harm, but to illuminate. She reminds us that real strength can be quiet, deliberate, and rooted in self-knowledge.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Witch (reversed). Upright, this card invites us to experiment, rebel, and reshape tradition to fit our lives. Reversed, it asks us to pause. Are you discarding everything for the sake of rebellion? Are you resisting guidance that could actually support your path?

The Witch reversed suggests a rebalancing: keep what nourishes, discard what oppresses, and remember that reinvention doesn’t always require destruction. Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where am I rebelling out of habit, not intention?

    • What wisdom might I be overlooking because it comes in a traditional form?

    • How can I blend structure with freedom in a way that supports me now?

    Knight of Swords27 May 202500:27:48

    Knight of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Knight of Swords as a card of action, ambition, urgency, and pursuit

    • Symbolism across decks: horses, charging into battle, haste, new adventures

    • How this card can reflect drive, impatience, or a desire to prove something

    • What happens when we charge ahead without checking in

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we explore the forward-rushing, goal-driven energy of the Knight of Swords. This is the part of us that pushes forward, often with sharp clarity, sometimes with tunnel vision. The Knight of Swords is brave and bold, but they can also be reckless, trying to outpace burnout or ignore discomfort by simply doing more.

This card reminds us that momentum isn’t the same as alignment. It asks us to pause long enough to ask: ‘Where am I going?’, ‘Why am I in such a hurry?’, and ‘What am I hoping this will prove or fix?’

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Cartographer (reversed). Upright, this card represents direction, curiosity, and mapping new possibilities. But reversed, it suggests you may be stuck in a pattern of overplanning or indecision, jumping between too many paths without giving one the attention it deserves. The Cartographer reversed calls for discernment: choose one road. Let go of the pressure to do everything all at once.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where am I collecting ideas but avoiding action?

    • How is indecision or overplanning keeping me from real progress?

    • What one path feels most aligned to focus on right now?

    Page of Swords26 May 202500:24:40

    Page of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Page of Swords as a card of curiosity, fresh perspectives, and beginning again

    • Symbolism across decks: birds, air, youthful energy, and budding awareness

    • Why this card invites us to reflect on defensiveness, openness, and the desire to learn

    • How youthful energy and inexperience can hold both possibility and challenge

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we explore the Page of Swords, a card of early insight, sharp observation, and learning through experience. This is the fresh start after the heaviness of the Ten. The Page doesn’t know everything yet, but they’re open. They’re watching, asking questions, testing ideas, and beginning to name the patterns they see.

Sometimes this energy can feel defensive or uncertain, especially when we’ve been wounded. But the Page invites us to soften. To stay curious. To recognize the mental weather for what it is, and to stay grounded in our growing wisdom.

This card reminds us that learning to think clearly, communicate wisely, and observe without absorbing everything is a practice. We don’t have to get it perfect, we just have to be willing to begin.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Acolyte (reversed). This card is all about the early stages of learning, new projects, and the path of growth. Reversed, it asks us to be patient. You may not be where you want to be just yet, but everything you’ve been practicing is still helping you grow. The journey is valid, even when it feels slow.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where am I being too hard on myself for not being “there” yet?

    • What have I already learned that I haven’t given myself credit for?

    • How can I return to a mindset of curiosity instead of self-judgment?

    Ten of Swords23 May 202500:28:44

    Ten of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Ten of Swords as a card of painful endings, transformation, and burnout

    • Symbolism across decks: devastation, martyrdom, dark clouds, overgiving, surrender

    • How fear, self-sacrifice, and unmet expectations can shape suffering

    • The wisdom, healing, and integration at the end of a hard chapter

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we reflect on the weight and wisdom of the Ten of Swords. This card is often seen as one of the darkest in the deck. It depicts collapse, pain, and betrayal, but it’s also about what happens after—the depth beneath the devastation. It shows us the consequences of giving too much, staying too long, or carrying wounds that aren’t fully ours.

The Ten of Swords is where something ends, not because you failed, but because it couldn’t go on. In that ending, there is a chance to reclaim yourself. To stop the cycle. This card asks: Where are you still overextending to prove you’re enough? What identity have you outgrown? And are you ready to stop surviving and start healing?

    • Season 7 - Suit of Pentacles

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Guide (reversed). This card carries the energy of Inheritance and Collection. It reminds us that even through painful endings, we gather wisdom. We inherit stories—some helpful, some not. It acknowledges how exhausting it’s been to keep going, especially when others haven’t supported you, but also celebrates your resilience. You've come through the fire, trust that you now have the capacity to face what's next.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What wisdom have I collected through this ending or transformation?

    • How can I honor what I’ve learned without letting it define me?

    • Where can I pause and make space before moving on to the next thing?

    Nine of Swords22 May 202500:16:43

    Nine of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Nine of Swords as a card of mental anguish, guilt, and obsessive thought

    • Symbolism across decks: vultures, bed-bound figures, circled despair, and pain

    • Why this card often asks us to examine our inner saboteur and the fears we internalize

    • The connection between anxiety, shame, and past trauma

    • How we can speak to the part of ourselves that tries to protect us through fear

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we dive deep into the heavy emotional terrain of the Nine of Swords. Often associated with anxiety, panic attacks, and restless nights, this card doesn’t just speak to external threats; it reveals what happens when our own mind becomes the battlefield. From vultures circling in the dark to telescopic views of despair, the Nine of Swords asks: Whose voice are you listening to? Is it your own or an echo of past pain?

This card is not here to shame you. It’s here to remind you that your thoughts aren’t always facts, and that the part of you trying to protect you from pain may be pulling you deeper into it. Through self-compassion and awareness, we can gently take the wheel back from our inner saboteur and choose a different path forward.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Thief (upright). This card speaks to risk, desire, and making your own way—even when it seems selfish. The Thief once acted out of necessity, but now craves the thrill of breaking rules and grabbing what they want. The message? You don’t need permission. Take the opportunity. Trust your instinct. The life you want won’t be handed to you, you have to choose it and forge your own destiny.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What would it mean to claim what I need, even if others don’t approve?

    • Where have I let fear of judgment hold me back from taking action?

    • What would change if I let myself want more, and go after it?

    Eight of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Eight of Swords as a card of fear, paralysis, and self-imposed restriction

    • Symbolism across decks: ropes, mirrored blades, blindfolds, darkness, and isolation

    • Why this card often asks us to examine the stories we’ve internalized about our worth

    • How overthinking, shame, and outdated beliefs create cages we can’t see

    • The quiet, radical power of reclaiming agency and moving toward freedom

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, I dive deep into the Eight of Swords as a card of self-imposed limitations. Whether the ropes are made of fear, perfectionism, shame, or outdated beliefs, the message is clear: we have the power to untie ourselves.

This is a card about mental prisons—patterns that feel like protection but often come at the cost of movement, joy, or connection. Sometimes, the hardest part of liberation is admitting we're already holding the key.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Witch (upright). This card represents experimentation and rebellion. It asks us to break free of rules and traditions that were never made with us in mind. It calls us to reimagine how we move through the world, not from fear or convention, but from possibility and creative alignment.

The Witch encourages us to think for ourselves, shake up what feels rigid, and give ourselves permission to be wild, curious, and true.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where am I ready to break free from outdated beliefs or systems?

    • What would rebellion look like in the context of my healing?

    • What experiment can I try this week to honor my truest self?

    Seven of Swords20 May 202500:21:49

    Seven of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Seven of Swords as a card of deception, manipulation, and cunning

    • Symbolism across decks: cataclysm, masked figures, spies, fighting, and self-sabotage

    • Why this card often asks us to reflect on our own patterns of avoidance or denial

    • The tension between clever strategy and sneaky behavior

    • How intuition and inner honesty help us avoid repeating painful patterns

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we dive deep into the shadowy landscape of the Seven of Swords. This card doesn’t always point to betrayal by others—it can also reveal where we’re deceiving ourselves, avoiding uncomfortable truths, or slipping back into habits that keep us small. From masked figures and snake imagery to clever escapes and harsh realizations, this card asks: Are you ready to tell yourself the truth? Are you willing to let go of outdated strategies that no longer serve you?

This is a card that whispers, “Work smarter, not harder.” But it also says: “Stop gaslighting yourself.” It reminds us that cleverness without self-awareness can turn into sabotage. But with compassion and clarity, we can step out from behind the mask and choose authenticity.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Miser (reversed). In the upright position, The Miser warns of control, rigidity, and clinging too tightly to what no longer serves. Reversed, it asks: ‘Where can I loosen my grip? What structures have I inherited or created that no longer support growth, but instead suffocate it?’

This card invites a reckoning with scarcity mindsets, with patterns of domination or fear-based control, and with the parts of us that resist change even when it’s necessary.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What truth am I avoiding because I’m afraid of what will happen if I name it?

    • Where am I clinging to control instead of allowing flexibility and trust?

    • What pattern, relationship, or belief feels safe but is actually keeping me stuck?

    Six of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Six of Swords as a card of movement, transition, and quiet emotional processing

    • Symbolism across decks: movement, moving on, transition, journeys, water

    • Why this card can feel like being “in between” change and the pull of new possibilities

    • The importance of surrendering to life’s momentum and not carrying old emotional baggage

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we explore how the Six of Swords invites us to cross emotional thresholds, even if we’re not quite sure what’s on the other side. It represents the discomfort and necessary movement of growth, the part of the journey where we’re no longer stuck but not yet fully arrived.

It asks: Can you trust the momentum? Can you let go of what weighs you down? Are you ready to follow the pull of something new, even if it’s unfamiliar?

This card reminds us that the shift is already happening. We’re on the road, boat, or metaphorical journey, and what’s ahead holds potential for deeper alignment, healing, and clarity.

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Guide (upright). The Guide shows up when you’re navigating terrain left to you by others—mistakes, legacies, patterns you didn’t start but still carry. The message? It’s up to you now. Accept the situation, do what you can to correct course, and know that the other side holds clarity and strength.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What are you carrying that isn’t truly yours?

    • What needs to be corrected—not for others, but for your own peace?

    • How can you approach this current “in-between” with care, perspective, and intentionality?

What we explore in this episode:

    • How the Five of Swords reveals lessons around conflict, boundaries, and burnout

    • Symbolism across decks: heartbreak, crossed swords, and wounded hearts across multiple decks

    • What this card teaches about fighting for your values without losing your empathy

    • The shadow side of overexertion, martyrdom, or success at the expense of others

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we look at the Five of Swords as a card of friction, fragmentation, personal sovereignty, and the consequences of boundary-setting or overreaching.

Conflict reveals more about what needs tending within us than who we are up against. Whether you’re in a time of burnout or needing to assert your needs, this card asks you to slow down, reflect, recalibrate, and choose your battles wisely. Your energy is finite; sometimes stepping back is more powerful than charging ahead.

The Five of Swords asks: Are you honoring your limits, or letting the fear of disappointing others cut into your well-being?

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Astronomer. This card invites us to zoom out and reflect on the big picture. It speaks to inner vision, cosmic timing, and intuitive knowing, reminding us that some answers don’t come from history or logic but from trust in our own internal compass. You’re in a complex situation, but staying curious and observing the bigger patterns at play can bring clarity.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where in your life are you getting caught in the details instead of seeing the bigger picture?

    • Are you trying to win an argument when you’re really just feeling unseen?

    • What would shift if you let go of being right and chose inner peace instead?

    Four of Swords15 May 202500:26:27

    Four of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • What the Four of Swords teaches us about rest, reflection, and recalibration

    • Symbolism across decks: coffins, temples, meditation, calm retreat, transformation

    • The difference between true rest and emotional avoidance

    • How this card relates to atonement, clarity after overwhelm, and the importance of spiritual integration

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we look at the Four of Swords as a call to a sacred pause. It’s the chrysalis moment between action and transformation. Whether you're healing from burnout, heartbreak, or just navigating deep life transitions, this card invites you to lay down your sword—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and rest. We talk about what it means to stop pushing and allow space for reflection, integration, and quiet clarity.

The Four of Swords reminds us that it’s okay to step back, and sometimes essential. Rest is not laziness. It's how we gather strength and discernment before stepping into what's next.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Alchemist.

This card brings a message of balance, invention, and destruction. The Alchemist understands that to create something new—whether a project, a relationship, or a transformed self—something else must be dismantled. Nothing is wasted. Instead, what’s been burned becomes the base from which we rebuild.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What needs to be released or dismantled so something new can be created?

    • Are you giving yourself permission to rest and integrate before moving forward?

    • Where are you being called to rebuild—slowly, intentionally, and from your own truth?

    Three of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • What the Three of Swords teaches about heartbreak, grief, and emotional release

    • Symbolism across decks: stabbed hearts, sorrowful skies, birds pierced by blades, and archetypes of sorrow

    • How this card represents disillusionment, painful realizations, and the collapse of expectations

    • The invitation to learn from sorrow, tend to our wounds, and reclaim strength and boundaries through healing

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we explore the Three of Swords as a card of grief, but also of clarity. While it’s often known as the heartbreak card, there is power in naming our grief, choosing to feel it fully, and deciding how we want to move forward, especially when our expectations have been shattered.

Whether it’s the quiet ache of unmet needs, the sharp sting of betrayal, or the slow burn of disillusionment, the Three of Swords challenges us to reclaim our energy from those who cannot or will not meet us. It reminds us that releasing pain is not about rushing to “get over it,” but about honoring what we feel and tending to our emotional landscape with honesty and care.

This card asks us to find the courage to sit with discomfort and to gently ask, “What is this pain trying to teach me?”

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Patron (upright). This card signals that a period of mentorship or supportive alliance is beginning.

You might be stepping into the role of mentor or guide for someone else, or perhaps someone is about to enter your life to help nurture your potential. The Patron reminds us that we don’t have to move through hard times alone. Healing and creative growth often thrive when we are lovingly witnessed and supported.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Who in your life has supported your growth through challenging emotional times?

    • Where might you be called to step into the role of patron or mentor for someone else?

    • How does it feel to receive care when your heart is tender or guarded?

    Two of Swords

Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • What the Two of Swords teaches about indecision, inner balance, and intuitive clarity

    • Symbolism across decks: blindfolds, crescent moon, pillars, swords crossed over the heart

    • How this card speaks to the discomfort of being “in-between” life stages, choices, or truths

    • The tension between logic and emotion, and what it means to choose alignment over avoidance

    • The role of inner peace and presence when no obvious path is clear

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we explore the Two of Swords as a card that sits at the edge of clarity. It invites us to look at where we’re holding back from choice, not because we don’t know, but because we’re afraid of what choosing might require of us. The blindfold reminds us to trust our intuition when the facts are unclear, and the crossed swords show how we sometimes guard our hearts to delay the inevitable.

We also explore how indecision can be a comfort zone, and how giving yourself permission to “not know yet” can be a sacred act of self-care, but staying there forever? That’s when stagnation can start to creep in.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright,  I pulled The Scholar in reverse. This card speaks to the futility of overthinking and over-researching when the answer just isn’t there right now. You may be trying to “logic” your way through a situation that requires pause, reflection, or emotional presence instead. Sometimes, it’s not about trying harder, it’s about shifting your energy elsewhere.Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where are you stuck in indecision because you’re afraid of what the truth might mean?

    • How is overanalyzing distracting you from tuning in to what your body or heart already knows?

    • What would it look like to take a pause, not out of avoidance, but to honor your inner knowing?

    • Symbolism across decks: birds, focus, personal power, self-esteem

    • How this card invites focus, truth-telling, and cutting through confusion or mental fog

    • The double-edged nature of intellect, discernment, and black-and-white thinking

    • Why reclaiming personal power often means stepping into the present with courage and aligned action

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we explore the Ace of Swords as a card of sharp insight, new beginnings, and reclaiming personal power. It reminds us that the mind is a tool, one that can liberate us with clarity or trap us in rigidity if misused.

The Ace of Swords cuts through confusion, offering a spark of truth, discernment, and the courage to act. It asks: Where are you ready to wield your personal power with wisdom? Where can you clear away what no longer serves to make space for aligned action?

    • The King of Pentacles reflects on authority, control, and how we handle success

    • Symbolism across different decks: stability, mastery, and wisdom in the material realm

    • How discipline, patience, and grounded leadership shape this archetype

    • The importance of focusing on your own domain without overextending into others’ lives

    • Why true power lies in knowing when to hold steady and when to release control

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

In this episode, we explore the King of Pentacles as the culmination of the suit’s journey. This card represents a mature mastery of resources, stability, and wisdom gained through lived experience. The King of Pentacles reminds us that true success comes not just from what we build or own, but from how we steward what we have. It invites us to cultivate discipline, patience, and practical leadership—and to consider how our personal foundation supports the well-being of others.

The deeper invitation here is to check in with ourselves: Are we using our power wisely? Are we honoring both our own growth and the needs of those we serve?

The Queen shows us that tending to what we value takes patience and daily devotion, and that we can hold space for growth without rushing the process.

She asks: Are you allowing yourself to receive the nourishment you give so freely to others? How are you cultivating a life that feels rooted, abundant, and sustainable?

It asks us to pause and reflect before leaping into action, reminding us that not every challenge requires a fight. Sometimes, true strength is in choosing a different response—one rooted in empathy, understanding, and perspective.

The Brawler invites us to ask: What conflicts are worth engaging in? Where might we be clinging to stubbornness or defensiveness? How can we approach situations with clarity and compassion rather than reactivity?

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where in your life are you called to stand firm in your values?

    • How do you balance assertiveness with empathy?

    • Are there conflicts or tensions that might benefit from a softer approach?

The Herald invites us to release regrets and stop clinging to “what could have been.” Instead, it encourages us to be an active participant in creating something new and meaningful.

The Herald teaches that reflection is valuable, but we cannot let it overshadow the present. By letting go of the weight of old decisions and missed opportunities, we make space for fresh possibilities and deeper joy in the here and now.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • How can you honor the small, quiet steps you are taking toward your goals?

It asks us to consider how we are nurturing our growth, both materially and personally. Are we giving ourselves permission to explore without rushing? Are we tending to our dreams with the patience they deserve? The Page of Pentacles encourages us to embrace the process, trust the small steps, and stay open to the lessons along the way.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Scholar in reverse. This card is usually about perseverance, learning, and following a steady path forward. In reverse, The Scholar gently signals that the answers we are searching for may not be available right now. It invites us to pause, step back, and consider whether we are pouring energy into something that needs to be released or redirected.

This pull asks us to let go of the urge to push harder, and instead explore new perspectives or different paths. Sometimes the work we think we need to be doing is not the work that will truly serve us. The Scholar encourages us to honor the season we are in and trust that stepping back can be its own form of wisdom.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where are you holding yourself back because you think you need to know more before you begin?

    Ten of Pentacles05 May 202500:14:06

Welcome to season 7 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • What the Ten of Pentacles teaches about dedication, mastery, and meaningful work

    • Symbolism across different decks: books, tools, craftsmanship, and sacred repetition

    • How to know when your work is aligned with your purpose and when it’s time to pivot

    • The difference between persistence toward meaningful goals vs. staying stuck in perfectionism

    • Why mastery is a process, not an endpoint

    Decks Referenced:

In this episode, we talk about the Ten of Pentacles, a card of legacy, fulfillment, and wholeness. It marks the moment when effort ripens into abundance, when the structures we’ve tended offer not just support for ourselves but nourishment for others.

The Ten of Pentacles invites us to reflect on how we’re contributing to something greater than ourselves: a family, a community, a legacy that outlives us. It asks: What are you weaving into the fabric of the world? How are you nurturing the people and spaces that will carry your love, wisdom, and resources forward?

True wealth isn’t just about money; it’s also about the richness of a life well-lived, surrounded by care, connection, and community.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright,  I pulled The Poet (reversed), a card about relationships and vulnerability. In reverse, The Poet reminds us that in protecting ourselves from hurt, we can unintentionally wall ourselves off from meaningful connection. It invites us to notice where self-protection has become isolation, and to consider what relationships (human or otherwise) we’re willing to nurture, risk for, and invite deeper intimacy with.

This card asks: What would it mean to be known, to be witnessed, to let others see both your strength and your softness? Vulnerability is not weakness, but an essential part of a fulfilling life shared with others.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where has self-protection turned into isolation in your life?

    • Where are you holding back vulnerability in your relationships?

    • How might you let yourself be more seen or known in your relationships?

    • What legacy do you want to leave for your family, community, or chosen family?

    Nine of Pentacles02 May 202500:10:04

Welcome to season 7 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode. Today's episode is all about the Nine of Pentacles.

What we explore in this episode:

    • What the Nine of Pentacles teaches about prosperity, self-reliance, and savoring your success

    • Symbolism across different decks: gems, sunflowers, rainbow arches, blooming cactus, and arms holding abundance

    • How to balance independence with continued growth and gratitude

    • Why rest, enjoyment, and self-trust are essential parts of the journey toward abundance

    • The reminder that luxury and comfort can be spiritual practices, not just material rewards

    Deck References:

In this episode, we explore the Nine of Pentacles, a card that radiates the joy of earned abundance, self-sufficiency, and grace. This card invites us to pause and truly receive the rewards of our labor. It’s a moment of standing in your power, acknowledging all that you’ve cultivated, and letting yourself experience the pleasure, security, and comfort you’ve worked so hard to create.

The Nine of Pentacles reminds us that independence doesn’t have to mean isolation, and wealth isn’t only material—it’s the richness of knowing you’ve shown up fully for yourself. It asks: “Can you let yourself enjoy what you’ve built, without guilt or hesitation? Can you claim joy as your birthright?”

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Pilgrim, a card about the long journey, the lessons we gather along the way, and the quiet wisdom of steady progress. The Pilgrim reminds us that even when we achieve milestones, the path continues, and each step holds discovery. It invites us to keep moving forward with curiosity, gratitude, and trust in the unfolding road.Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What successes or milestones have you achieved that you haven’t paused to truly celebrate?

    Eight of Pentacles01 May 202500:20:16
Welcome to season 7 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode. What we explore in this episode: What the Eight of Pentacles teaches about dedication, mastery, and meaningful work Symbolism across different decks: books, tools, craftsmanship, and sacred repetition How to know when your work is aligned with your purpose and when it’s time to pivot The difference between persistence toward meaningful goals vs. staying stuck in perfectionism Why mastery is a process, not an endpoint Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right: The Goddess of Love Tarot Deck: A Book and Deck for Embodying The Erotic Divine Feminine by Gabriela Herstik and illustrated by Julia Popescu The Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia Burrington The Desert Illuminations Tarot by Lindsay D. Williams In this episode, we explore the Eight of Pentacles—a card that celebrates devotion, craftsmanship, and the sacred act of steady progress. This is the card of meaningful repetition: the patient, focused work that gradually shapes both the craft and the crafter. The Eight of Pentacles reminds us that mastery isn’t just about talent, it's about devotion, resilience, and choosing to show up even when it’s hard. It also asks an important question: Are we honing a craft that aligns with our spirit, or are we simply grinding out of habit or fear? Sometimes, the work itself is fulfilling... and sometimes, it's a signal that it's time to pivot toward what truly calls us. If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out! In reverse, The Scholar signals that it may be time to step back and reassess. Not all effort yields reward, and sometimes the most courageous thing we can do is redirect our energy when the path we've been working on no longer feels right. The reversal invites you to recognize when the pursuit of mastery has become rote, exhausting, or disconnected from your greater purpose. It’s okay to change direction. It's okay to dream again. Reflective prompts on this card: Where are you pouring your energy without feeling a meaningful return? What project, goal, or habit needs to be reassessed instead of pushed through? What dream or pursuit would light you up if you gave yourself permission to start over? Seven of Pentacles01 May 202500:25:35
Welcome to season 7 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode. What we explore in this episode: What the Seven of Pentacles teaches about patience, growth, and strategic pause Symbolism across different decks: blooms, gardens, abundance, the sacred pause to assess progress How to recognize when it’s time to celebrate progress and when it’s time to reassess your efforts Why evaluation is a necessary and sacred part of any creative or life-building process Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right: The Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia Burrington The Goddess of Love Tarot Deck: A Book and Deck for Embodying The Erotic Divine Feminine by Gabriela Herstik and illustrated by Julia Popescu The Desert Illuminations Tarot by Lindsay D. Williams In this episode, we explore the Seven of Pentacles, a card that holds space for reflection, assessment, and acknowledgment. It’s a sacred pause point: a reminder that growth isn’t just about constant action. Sometimes, we need to stand still long enough to notice what’s blooming. Progress asks for patience, self-trust, and the bravery to both celebrate what’s flourishing and prune what no longer serves. The Seven of Pentacles invites us to recognize that real, sustainable growth honors effort, discernment, and rest in equal measure. It asks: 'Are you recognizing the real fruits of your labor? Or are you so focused on "what's next" that you're missing the quiet miracle of what’s already blooming?' If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out! In reverse, The Hound asks us to reflect on where loyalty has made us feel stuck rather than a source of strength. It challenges us to notice when devotion to what is familiar can keep us from reaching for more, and invites us to rebuild trust. Trust in yourself, in the process, and in the possibility that what you’re working toward is unfolding in its own divine timing. This card invites a courageous pivot: honoring the work we’ve done while giving ourselves permission to move toward new, more aligned directions. Reflective prompts on this card: Are you staying committed to a path, person, or project even after it no longer serves your growth? How do you trust yourself, and trust that positive things can happen? What different action can you take to get different results? Six of Pentacles29 Apr 202500:34:30

Welcome to season 7 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles.

What we explore in this episode:

    • How the Six of Pentacles invites us to reflect on generosity, reciprocity, and receiving

    • Why giving isn't always about money, and how time, energy, and care are deeply valuable too

    • The relationship between capitalism, scarcity mindset, and self-worth

    • The difference between hierarchical charity and reciprocal, community-centered support

    • How this card helps us think about leadership, shared responsibility, and sustainable care

    Deck References:

In this episode, we explore the layered meanings of the Six of Pentacles, a card that sits at the tender intersection of giving and receiving. At a glance, it may seem like a simple message about charity, but this card carries a much deeper message about dignity, power, and relational exchange.

Whether you’re the one offering support or the one in need of it, this card invites you to consider what true generosity looks like. It asks us to question the systems that shape our understanding of worth, value, and deservingness. We reflect on how monetary value often obscures energetic worth, and how the act of giving (when done without mutual respect) can tip into performance or control.

We discuss imagery from multiple decks, but across each version, a consistent truth remains: giving and receiving are sacred. Generosity is not a one-way street, and vulnerability is not weakness.

This card also nudges us to reflect on how we accept help. Are we closed off to receiving? Do we feel shame around needing support? The Six of Pentacles reminds us that care is cyclical, and when we give and receive in balance, we cultivate a stronger, more resilient community.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, today’s pull was The Shepherd, a card that reflects quiet leadership, responsibility, and community protection.

The Shepherd reminds us that leadership doesn’t have to look loud or flashy. Sometimes, it looks like tending to the well-being of those around us in slow, intentional ways. Like the Six of Pentacles, this card reflects care, duty, and the importance of ensuring others are safe, nourished, and not left behind.

It’s a reminder that mutual support is what allows us all to rest. In the community, you are protected, and you get to protect others too!

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • How do you feel about giving without expecting anything in return?

    • Where might you need to allow yourself to receive support?

    • What would it feel like to trust that generosity flows both ways?

    Five of Pentacles28 Apr 202500:10:04

Welcome to season 7 of the podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles.

What we explore in this episode:

    • The Five of Pentacles as a symbolic turning point on the journey of growth

    • How this card brings up feelings of lack, loneliness, financial anxiety, and scarcity

    • Symbolism across decks, including spirals, shriveled plants, and downward glances

    • Why poverty consciousness is about more than money—it is also about self-worth

    • Ways to begin reconnecting with value, belonging, and internal safety

    Decks Referenced:

In this episode, we sit with the raw, tender truths of the Five of Pentacles. This card speaks to experiences of loss, hardship, and feeling left out in the cold, both literally and metaphorically. It is a card that reveals our vulnerability and our deepest fears about not being enough.

We explore imagery across several decks, from spiraling patterns symbolizing interconnected loss to shriveled plants representing life pulling back during hard seasons. This card asks us to sit with our discomfort, to acknowledge our needs, and to resist the urge to retreat into shame or self-judgment.

The Five of Pentacles doesn’t sugarcoat the ache. But it also offers a powerful reminder: even in the middle of the storm, we are not alone. There are ways forward. It calls us to acknowledge our needs with compassion, recognize when we’re seeking validation from others, and start building a more secure connection to ourselves from the inside out.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

Today’s card came from The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright and was The Botanist, which explores themes of parenthood, reparenting, and stepping into adult-to-adult relationships.

The Botanist (reversed) encourages us to let go of old dynamics, especially the ones where we wait for someone else to affirm our worth or offer safety. Instead, it asks us to cultivate trust in ourselves. In the context of the Five of Pentacles, this means moving from survival mode into deeper, rooted self-belief.

This card reminds us that we are allowed to outgrow people, patterns, and beliefs that no longer serve us, even if that means confronting uncomfortable truths about how we’ve been taught to measure our value.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where are you feeling lack in your life right now—emotionally, financially, or energetically?

    • What old beliefs are keeping you in a loop of scarcity or self-doubt?

    • Are you waiting for someone else to affirm your worth or give you permission to thrive?

    • What would it look like to create your own sense of internal safety and security?

    • What small acts of reparenting can you offer yourself today?

    Four of Pentacles25 Apr 202500:26:13

Welcome to season 7 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles!

What we explore in this episode:

    • The themes of fear, control, and emotional self-protection that often show up in the Four of Pentacles

    • How this card highlights moments when we cling to familiarity, even when it’s no longer serving us

    • The physical and energetic imagery across multiple decks, from snakes and spirals to blocked postures and guarded treasure

    • How patterns of self-protection can create emotional, financial, or energetic "blocks"

    Decks referenced:

In this episode, we explore the guarded posture of the Four of Pentacles. Often read as a card about control or holding on too tightly, this card speaks to the fear that arises before a big leap. It's that moment right before transformation when your subconscious says, “Nope, not safe,” even though your heart is quietly asking you to grow.

We look at how this card shows up visually in various decks—figures clutching oversized coins, snakes coiled around their spirals, hands gripping with uncertainty. These images illuminate the psychological and emotional toll of clinging to what feels secure.

The Four of Pentacles doesn’t shame us for wanting stability. Instead, it invites us to examine where we're creating walls instead of boundaries. It asks us to explore our relationship with scarcity, safety, and control—and to choose trust and curiosity over fear when it’s time to loosen our grip.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

Today’s card came from The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle, and it was The Brawler from the Troupe suit. This card challenges us to step back from conflict and see where we might be responding to life with fists already raised—figuratively or literally.

The message here is clear: if we’re hitting the same wall over and over, it may be time to change direction or soften our approach. The Brawler reminds us that confrontation is not always strength. Sometimes, true strength is being willing to try a new way, ask a different question, or simply rest when the old ways stop working.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where in your life are you holding on too tightly right now? What are you afraid might happen if you let go, even just a little?

    • What patterns have kept you feeling stuck or blocked?

    • Are you relying on force or avoidance to try and solve a problem that needs patience or perspective?

    • What would it feel like to pause, rest, and try something new?

    • Can you soften the edges of control and invite more curiosity, even in small ways?

    Three of Pentacles24 Apr 202500:14:21

Welcome to season 7, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles!

What we explore in this episode:

    • The collaborative energy behind the Three of Pentacles

    • How this card reflects skill-building, learning curves, and the magic of working with others

    • The balance between personal growth and shared progress

    • What it means to be teachable and open to imperfection

    • Reflections on creative partnerships and the process of crafting meaningful work together

    Decks Referenced:

In this episode, we talk about the grounded teamwork of the Three of Pentacles. This is a card about building something bigger than yourself through steady collaboration, communication, and shared vision. Whether you're working on a creative project, learning a new skill, or deepening your role within a group, the Three of Pentacles celebrates your effort and reminds you—you don’t have to do it alone.

We explore the visual symbolism of this card across several decks, including golden spirals, joined hands, and sacred geometric shapes that hint at harmony and structure. These images reinforce the idea that collective efforts thrive when we honor each person’s gifts and give ourselves room to grow through trial, error, and refinement.

This card also invites us to soften perfectionism. To honor the beauty in being teachable. To celebrate the milestones we’ve already reached while staying open to what's still unfolding.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

Today’s card came from The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, and it was The Champion, drawn in reverse.

In this context, the Champion warns us about burnout, stagnation, and the inner critic that whispers we’re not doing enough. But its message also nudges us back toward self-trust and reminds us that we’re allowed to lean on others.

In moments when we doubt ourselves, we can return to the relationships and routines that help us remember why we started in the first place.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What roles do you tend to take on in group projects or collaborations?

    • Where in your life could you benefit from more teamwork or mutual support?

    • What skills, perspectives, or energies do you uniquely bring to a shared goal?

    • How do you navigate differences in working style or vision when working with others?

    • Are there people or communities that you're ready to build with, but haven’t reached out to yet?

What we explore in this episode:

    • The balancing act of the Two of Pentacles and what it teaches us about staying grounded through change

    • The symbolism of circles, infinity loops, and duality across various tarot decks

    • How flexibility and adaptability help us navigate the ups and downs of daily life

    References for the decks:

In this episode, we talk about the balance-seeking energy of the Two of Pentacles. This is a card about managing competing priorities and staying grounded in motion. Whether you’re navigating work-life balance, juggling finances, or simply trying to stay afloat emotionally, this card invites you to shift with the tides rather than resist them.

We explore imagery across several decks, from aliens holding cacti to interwoven snakes and cosmic hearts. These images remind us that balance isn’t always perfect symmetry. Sometimes it's about playful presence, adaptability, and remembering that you can move through life’s fluctuations without losing your spark.

The Two of Pentacles also connects to the Magician and the Wheel of Fortune, hinting at the interplay between skill and chance. It asks: how do you respond when plans unravel? Can you keep laughing? Can you stay flexible without abandoning yourself?

    Today's Tarot Pull:

Today’s card pull comes from The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle and features The Priest, a figure of perseverance and faith. In the quiet warmth of the temple, the Priest reminds us that hope can be chosen, even in the midst of uncertainty. Just like the Two of Pentacles, this oracle encourages us to return to our center when the world gets noisy, and to trust that we are equipped to weather whatever waves come our way.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where in your life are you being asked to juggle or adapt right now?

    • What does balance look like for you, emotionally or practically?

    • When things feel chaotic, how do you respond, and how would you like to respond?

    • What routines or rituals help you feel more grounded during times of transition?

    • How can you embrace flexibility without losing sight of your values?

    Ace of Pentacles22 Apr 202500:17:46
In this episode, we explore the grounded beginnings offered by the Ace of Pentacles. It is a card about new opportunities in the material world. These seeds of prosperity, security, and abundance that are ready to be planted and nurtured. It's all about: The powerful energy of the Ace of Pentacles and what it teaches us about tangible beginnings, manifestation, and real-world opportunity How Pentacles connect to the material world, grounding, health, and abundance The deep symbolism of spirals, gardens, coins, and earthly treasures across different tarot decks Why growth and prosperity require both patience and active tending How cultivating your values leads to long-term security and authentic belonging Pictures from the decks I talked about: Therapists Who Tarot Deck, Prompts by Dreya Blume and Images by Rebecca Bloom The Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia Burrington The Goddess of Love Tarot Deck: A Book and Deck for Embodying The Erotic Divine Feminine by Gabriela Herstik and illustrated by Julia Popescu Whether it shows up as a career shift, a financial opening, a physical move, or a renewed commitment to your own health and wellbeing, this card asks you to recognize the tangible gifts being offered to you, and to meet them with action, care, and patience. We look at imagery across several decks, from spirals and blooming gardens to ancient goddesses and bees in flight. These symbols help us understand that abundance is both a gift and a responsibility, and that real growth happens slowly over time. This card also offers a beautiful reminder that while dreams begin in the mind, they take root in the earth. It invites us to commit to tending our gardens, nurturing our foundations, and trusting that our efforts will lead to flourishing and stability in the seasons to come. Today's Tarot Pull: Today’s pull was the Emperor from the Anima Mundi Tarot deck. The Emperor reminds us that strong foundations, discipline, and structure are necessary to make the most of the opportunities that the Ace of Pentacles offers. It's a call to not just dream but to anchor your dreams with clear intentions, routines, and responsibility. True leadership in your own life comes from balancing ambition with self-trust. Reflective prompts on this card: What areas of your life are asking for more patience and tending right now? How can you honor the abundance you already have while planting seeds for future prosperity? What practical steps can you take this week to nurture your dreams into tangible reality? Where do you need to practice self-discipline in order to see your vision come to life? How do you define true wealth beyond financial prosperity? King of Wands21 Apr 202500:22:17
In this episode, we are stepping into the energy of the King of Wands, the final card in our journey through the Suit of Wands. What we explore in this episode: Fire as a symbol of leadership and action Respecting your "inner lizard" (your survivor self) Leading with authenticity rather than comparison Staying connected to your own values and passion Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right: Therapists Who Tarot Deck, Prompts by Dreya Blume and Images by Rebecca Bloom The Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia Burrington The Goddess of Love Tarot Deck: A Book and Deck for Embodying The Erotic Divine Feminine by Gabriela Herstik and illustrated by Julia Popescu, who also goes by snakes4hair The King of Wands is a powerful figure of confidence, vision, and bold leadership. He teaches us what it looks like to trust in our hard-won wisdom, to lead by example, and to blaze trails without losing sight of the bigger picture. This card invites us to own our authority, not because it was handed to us, but because we earned it through perseverance, resilience, and the lessons only experience can teach. It reminds us that passion needs grounding, and that true leadership is not about demanding respect but about living in a way that naturally inspires it. If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out! In the first season, I introduced tarot by talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more. In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one. Today's Tarot Pull: Today’s card pull was the Page of Pentacles in reverse from the Anima Mundi Tarot Deck by Megan Wyreweden. The reversed Page of Pentacles warns us about the dangers of impatience, short-term thinking, and lack of focus. It reminds us that while big dreams and ambitions are important, they need to be rooted in practical steps and grounded commitment to grow into reality. Combined with the energy of the King of Wands, this pull emphasizes the importance of balancing fiery passion with earthy practicality. Reflective prompts on this card: Where in my life am I ready to step into leadership, even if it feels scary? What parts of myself have I undervalued that are actually part of my strength? Am I focusing on quick wins, or am I willing to build something sustainable? What dreams or goals of mine need more grounding, structure, or patience? Queen of Wands18 Apr 202500:23:28

    Queen of Wands

Welcome to season 6 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Wands. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • What makes the Queen of Wands one of the most magnetic figures in the Tarot
    • The symbolism of her imagery across multiple decks
    • The connection between sacred fire and creative discipline
    • How to access and sustain self-trust, even when you feel unseen
    • Why warmth and boundaries are not opposites

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

The Queen of Wands embodies charisma, warmth, and unshakable confidence. She’s the kind of presence that lights up a room, not by demanding attention, but by being so fully herself. With a black cat at her feet and a sunflower in her hand in traditional depictions, she blends fierce independence with intuitive connection.

This card calls us into integrity and asks us to meet the moment with presence and pride. In The Library of Esoterica, she is described as a leader undaunted by challenge—one who embraces success while staying rooted in her principles. She reminds us: true power doesn’t shrink or shout. It radiates.

If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!

In the first season, I introduced tarot by talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more.

In season 4, I talked all about Tarot in Pop Culture and examined representations of Tarot in videogames, TV shows, movies, and more.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

Today's card pull came from the Anima Mundi Tarot Deck and offered the Two of Cups Reversed—a gentle nudge about what happens when we disconnect from ourselves or deprioritize what lights us up. Are we tending to our inner flame, or letting it fizzle while chasing external approval? This pull reminds us that disconnection and imbalance often point back to unmet creative and emotional needs.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • Where in your life are you dimming your fire to make others more comfortable?

    • What rituals or creative practices help you reconnect with your inner flame?

    • How can you embody your truth with warmth and courage, like the Queen of Wands?

    • Are you trusting yourself to be fully seen, even in your boldness?

    • What needs more sacred tending in your creative life right now?

  • Knight of Wands17 Apr 202500:24:15

    Knight of Wands

Welcome to season 6 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Wands. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • How the Knight of Wands symbolizes adventure, passion, and spontaneous movement

    • The double-fire energy of this court card and its connection to Sagittarius

    • Why breaking routines can be both liberating and destabilizing

    • The shadow side of impulsiveness and the desire to never feel stuck again

    • How to bring the spark of adventure back into your everyday life

    • The importance of integrating what we learn from travel, risk-taking, or creative leaps

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

The Knight of Wands is bold, passionate, and full of fire. This is the traveler of the tarot, ready to break free from monotony and leap into the unknown. Ruled by mutable fire and associated with Sagittarius, this card often shows up when we are craving motion, novelty, or creative breakthroughs. It celebrates courage, but also invites us to check our impulses—are we moving forward with purpose, or just trying to outrun discomfort?

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

Today’s pull was the Page of Swords, reversed, from The Sasuraibito Tarot by Stasia Burrington. This card reminds us to balance excitement with thoughtfulness. It’s easy to get caught up in the rush of new ideas and changes, but we also need to stay grounded in our communication and mindful of how our choices ripple outward. Be bold, yes—but also be clear!

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What sparks your curiosity right now?

    • Where are you craving more movement, freedom, or change?

    • Are you running toward adventure or away from discomfort?

    • What have your recent travels or risks taught you about yourself?

  • Page of Wands16 Apr 202500:25:46

    Page of Wands

Welcome to season 6 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Wands. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • Symbols of flame, passion, and creative curiosity
    • What it means to embrace beginner energy with courage and wonder
    • The Page of Wands as a messenger of inspiration and youthful enthusiasm
    • How sensuality, pleasure, and imagination shape this card across decks
    • The difference between comparison and aspiration when you are still learning
    • Why your “what if” dreams matter more than you think

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

The Page of Wands is your inner spark asking for your attention. It is the part of you that gets lit up when you talk about something you love, when you see someone doing what you long to do, or when you daydream about a path that feels just out of reach.

This card is about possibility. It invites you to let yourself be led by curiosity and enthusiasm rather than hesitation or self-doubt.

We explore themes of desire, creativity, first awakenings, and reclaiming childlike joy. The Page of Wands reminds us that the path does not have to be clear before we take the first step. All we need is a willingness to start.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From the Desert Illuminations Tarot, I pulled the Five of Jugs Upright.

This card represents emotional setbacks or moments when something did not turn out the way you hoped. You might be focused on what's been spilled—the broken jugs, the mess, the feelings that are hard to hold.

It invites you to honor your feelings of grief and disappointment while gently reminding you that something is still salvageable. Usually, two upright jugs remain in the background, a symbol that not everything is lost even if your attention is stuck on what hurts.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What are you afraid to want?

    • What would you do if you believed you could not fail?

    • How can you tend the spark of creativity even in seasons of doubt?

  • Ten of Wands15 Apr 202500:22:25

Welcome to season 6 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Wands. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • What it means to carry too much and how to know when your strength has become a survival mechanism

    • Why burnout is not a badge of honor

    • The difference between service and codependency

    • What the Ten of Wands teaches us about boundaries, delegation, and emotional overextension

    • How to move from doing it all to choosing with intention

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

  • In this episode, we talk about the heavy load that is the Ten of Wands. It is a card about taking on too much, sometimes because you have to, and sometimes because you have been conditioned to think you should.

Whether it shows up as work, caregiving, emotional labor, or too many commitments, this card asks you to consider what you are holding that is no longer yours to carry.

We explore imagery across several decks, from spider webs and atomic explosions to burning figures and fallen roses. These symbols help us understand the physical, emotional, and energetic toll of overcommitment.

This card also offers a powerful invitation to release perfectionism, self-sacrifice, and the belief that you have to do everything alone. It encourages us to begin the necessary work of letting go.

If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!

In the first season, I introduced tarot by talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more.

In seasons 2 and 3, I went through the major arcana and the four suits, one per episode.

In season 4, I talked all about Tarot in Pop Culture and examined representations of Tarot in videogames, TV shows, movies, and more.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From the Desert Illuminations Tarot, I pulled the Five of Jugs reversed. This suit corresponds to water in the deck. The card speaks to lost opportunities and emotional overwhelm. Reversed, it invites reflection on what did not go as planned and how to forgive ourselves for what we could not predict or control.

It mirrors the theme of this episode perfectly. We might be doing too much out of guilt, fear, or the need to prove our worth. Letting go of what no longer serves us is the first step toward reclaiming our energy.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

    • What are you carrying that has become too heavy?
    • What would you say no to if you were not afraid of disappointing others?
    • How can you start choosing rest instead of resentment?

    Nine of Wands14 Apr 202500:24:10

    Nine of Wands

Welcome to season 6 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Wands. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

    • Symbolism across decks: broken bones being set, loosely constructed barriers, plucked roots, and defensive postures

    • How the Nine of Wands represents perseverance, guardedness, and the tension of being “almost there”

    • What it means to hold a boundary while still healing

    • The inner critic is your final opponent on the road to reclaiming self-worth

    • How resentment builds when we say “yes” while our body screams “no” and how to stop doing that

    • The sacred role of conflict in maintaining intimacy and connection

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

This card is a classic “wounded warrior” archetype. It shows up when we’ve been through a lot and are still standing. Whether you’re holding your last line of defense or learning to trust again after a hard season, this card asks:

How are you showing up for yourself in the face of fatigue, fear, and doubt?

We talk about the visual metaphors across several decks, including plants being uprooted, bones healing slowly, and watching out for when passion turns into paranoia.

We also explore how defensive posturing can get in the way of clarity, and why building clear boundaries, especially when you’re tired, is the most loving thing you can do for yourself and others.

    Today's Tarot Pull:

From the Therapists Who Tarot Deck, I pulled The Wheel of Fortune.

This card is a reminder that life moves in cycles. You don’t control what comes up on the wheel, but you do get to choose how you respond to it.

    Reflection prompts:

    • How can you anchor in your truth even when circumstances are shifting around you?

    • What lessons have your past “downs” taught you, and how will you use them in the next “up”?

    • What boundaries help you ride the wheel with grace?
