And so it ends...

I may have said this before, but when I set out to write this book I  decided to write the sex part ’backwards’. I wanted the book to start with hot fucking from behind, quick and hard and passionate, and then  progress through the story going ’backwards’, meaning the couple become  more passionate, more affectionate, more romantic with each other as the  story unfolds, until the erotic ’climax’ of the story is just kissing  and declarations of love. In other words, pretty much the opposite of stories usually progress. So that's why there's no explosive make up sex at the end of the book.

So it’s a little sad to finally say goodbye to Erik and Alex…but I am working on a new book, with the working title Noah & Kate, which I'll be posting here soon,

So starting in  Chapter 19, there are going to be some difficult times for Erik and  Alex, and their love will be put to the test.

Erik makes his way down the mountain in a bitter ice storm, cursing  his weakness for Alexandra, determined not to let this destroy him.

Meanwhile...someone has followed him down the mountain

Erik needs to understand why Alex and Nick thought this intervention  would work...and Alex reminds him of what he said to her in Mexico City.  He decides to leave the cabin, facing a wicked winter storm instead of  staying with her.

In Chapter 3, Erik wants to know why Alexandra brought him all the  way up to a secluded mountain cabin for medical reasons...and she  reveals what her real reason was

Eric doesn't understand why his former Staff Sergeant is taking him to a remote mountaintop cabin...and he really doesn't understand why Alex is with them. 

She manages to convince him she's ready for round two...and this time, he makes sure she really enjoys it :D

This short story by Canadian humourist Stephen Leacock is gently humourous and softly spoken, to help you smile before you drift off. Leacock was an influence on Jack Benny and Groucho Marx (google them, young ones) and is beloved in Canada. I'll be adding more 'gentle humour' classic stories in the future, I hope you enjoy!

An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge is one of the most anthologized short stories in the world. It was even adapted for television as episodes of The Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

It's beautifully written, and I certainly hope you enjoy the way it's read.
