Small Shrimp + Big Faith in Honduras, with Jeremy Wainwright – EM27810 Mar 202100:41:50
Isn't it just like God to use something seemingly small, like shrimp, to make a MASSIVE impact in the Kingdom?
It might seem like Jeremy Wainwright just suddenly decided to make a change, but really, God was working in his heart long before his friend said, "Would you like to go to Honduras?"
It didn't take him long to decide that this was the opportunity God was giving him and that trip changed EVERYTHING. Now Jeremy has started Shrimp Matters and is actively working with partners in the United States as well as Honduras to bring sustainable shrimp farming to communities.
His work, despite the challenges of COVID-19, is making a difference, and he believes that God has more!
It was exciting to talk with Jeremy and I believe you'll be as encouraged as I was.
Listen to Discover
  • When God started working on Jeremy's heart
  • How key relationships have helped Jeremy along the way
  • The power of waiting patiently, trusting that God is moving
  • How Jeremy has grown as a Believer and as a leader
  • What impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on their shrimp farm
  • Jeremy's heart for ministry led by the local Church
  • What a small payment, a $100 bill, and shrimp have to do with the Kingdom
  • And much, much more

When Offerings Have a Face: How to Love the Poor, with Keith Giles – EM26902 Oct 201900:49:29

The call of Jesus is always more radical than we would like to think. One of His calls throughout the Gospels is to take care of the poor. Keith Giles felt God leading him to serve those in need by starting a house church that gave 100 percent of its offerings to them. For 11 years, Keith has been working in house churches.

On this episode, Keith shares about the beauty and chaos that comes with house churches. He also talks about realizing full-time ministry can happen in motels and grocery stores, not just church buildings. During the show, he gives many stories of God’s work with those in need. Keith reminds us that Jesus has called us to love our neighbor, especially the poor.

The Unsaved Christian: Reaching Cultural Christianity with the Gospel, with Dean Inserra – EM26424 Jul 201900:32:44

In his new book, The Unsaved Christian, he talks about different forms of unsaved Christianity. These people are not just “baby Christians,” but of a separate religion all together.

We have to make sure that we’re not advocating for a morality. We’re advocating for a worship, really, for a following of Christ. They’re two very different things.Dean Inserra

God at Work: The Rise and Fall of Movements, with Steve Addison – EM26113 Jun 201900:32:50

Through their friendship, Ann learned more about intercultural ministry and her friend came to know Jesus.

How to Be a Mobilizer in the World of Missions, with Bevin Ginder – EM25601 May 201900:34:24

Obeying Jesus’ commands is important if you want to be His disciple. One of those is to go into all the world and share the Good News. Bevin Ginder joins the show to talk about mobilization and its role in the Great Commission. For him, whenever he is working with other believers, he is discipling.

Growing up on the mission field, Bevin felt called to be a mobilizer through a dream, a concert, and a class. Now, he and his wife live in Cambodia and serve as leaders with Youth With a Mission (YWAM). His hope is to see churches learn how to send out missionaries and join in God’s work all over the world.

How to Heal from Collapse in Ministry, with Ryan Kuja – Author of From the Inside Out – EM23919 Sep 201800:47:25

Ryan's Book: https://amzn.to/2OoISlE

Within Christian ministry, specifically missions, it can be easy to only tell positive stories. Sometimes, though, it’s important to talk about the difficult times. Ryan Kuja joins the show to discuss his own experience with missions and what he has learned about strengths and weaknesses of ministry.

Having lived in over fifteen cities across five continents, Ryan has seen how Western mindsets impact models of mission work. Have you ever wondered whether God’s called you to be a missionary? Have you wondered what it takes and why so many missionaries struggle? Have you wondered if your calling isn’t important or why some Christians will leave behind family and friends who haven’t met Christ to take the Gospel thousands of miles away to people they’ve never met?

David is a missionary of 20+ years, the founder of Within Reach Global, and the author of a new book, The Mind of a Missionary. In the book, he looks at what motivates missionaries and keeps them going, the reality of struggles and pain, the joy of faithful and selfless obedience, and much more.

My hope and prayer is that after listening to today’s show, you’ll do two things.

  1. Go buy David’s book, The Mind of the Missionary, and read it

Being Bold and Bringing Hope to the Lost, with Jacob – EM23501 Aug 201800:39:13

Sometimes Christians are held back because of fear. If that's you, then this is for you. Listen as Jacob (pen name) shares what can happen when we step out in faith in spite of fear.

There are many people in the world who are lost and have never heard of Jesus. Asia has some of the largest unreached people groups and Jacob, our guest, plans to minister there.

Growing up, Jacob had a plan to do youth ministry for a long time, but God had other plans. He and his wife are now preparing for their long term mission work in Asia.

As he shares his plans for missions, Jacob talks about the importance of boldness. By being bold, believers can better share the Gospel to those who are lost. And when Christians are willing to walk in obedience to the Lord, they can bring transformation to their communities.

Jacob brings encouragement and passion to this episode, and you won’t want to miss it!
