After several days at Lake Isabella, Ava is ready to leave. To be so close is wearing on her. Ryan helps her and Brie grab a few more things before they leave for the final stretch. Meanwhile, Jay and company literally weather a storm. And back in Colorado, Mia and her convoy continue north. He doesn't have much and he warns them of a terrifying group of survivors who are preying on others. Meanwhile, Jay and company are in a national forest having their own troubles. Jay takes it upon himself to go hunting for the group, but he gets a scary surprise when he later returns to camp.

Here it is! The Season 3 finale!!

Ambridge is enjoying his stay at the quarantine zone. He's been helping Mia and Roger gather supplies and move people back, deeper into the woods. But this has left Jay on his own. Jay's been preparing for life on the road, but he still needs a car if he plans on making it all the way to California. After listening to another one of Preacher Smith's rants, Jay gets a crazy idea.

Mark is furious to find that Stephanie has left Ava behind, even though she claims Ava told her to. Mark wants to go back for her, but because it's dark and Madison has been bitten, Stephanie refuses. But that doesn't stop Mark, who takes matters into his own hands.

Mark regrets letting Ava go alone. They were meant to stick together, and after all they've been through, Mark can only think horrible thoughts. Regardless, he's forced to cope with the situation. Teddy helps by providing work in the house. In an effort to waste time, the two men move the computer system upstairs. But when night falls, Ava, Stephanie, and Madison have yet to return. This causes Mark to panic. He can no longer sit around and wait...

Jay and Ambridge are not seeing eye-to-eye. After Ambridge breaks the bad news, Jay storms off. There is no way he is going to stay at the quarantine zone. He has to reach California. He has already come so far. But does he need Ambridge? Jay decides that he'll continue the journey alone, but he still needs some help before he leaves.

Ambridge and Mia make it back to the quarantine zone safely with the water they needed. But now Ambridge is interested in finding out more about California. Roger leads him to the two men who traveled from L.A. so that Ambridge can get a better understanding of what's to come. Meanwhile, Jay continues to practice archery while talking to Kylie about her future plans.

Ava and Mark continue to help out at the farmhouse. After retrieving their truck for supplies and pushing it to the house, Stephanie finds that Mark is definitely not in good shape. Once again, his leg is causing him problems. Stephanie doesn't believe he can help get the generator, but that's when Ava comes up with a different plan.

Ambridge helps Mia gather water from a nearby tower. Mia explains why she is still at the quarantine zone and what she hopes for. After filling all the jugs they head into the town to search for some vehicles. That's when Ambridge starts having more doubts about California... but how will he tell Jay?

Ava and Mark decide to help out with Teddy's property. While Stephanie is reluctant at first, she eventually gives in. They don't finish but they get a large chunk done. The faster they clear the property and fix the fence, the faster they can get the generator and leave.
