But hey, at least they also announced Satu’li Canteen is going to start service breakfast. So we guess it isn’t all bad.

Coming off of the high of D23’s major park announcements, Disney dropped the bad news - Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America are going away to make room for Cars land in the Magic Kingdom.

In our main segment we shed some light on Disney’s Accelerator Program.

It’s a little known part of the Disney company that invests in and mentors start up tech companies.  You probably haven’t heard of the program before now, but you’ve most likely heard of some of the previous members - most notably Fortnite creator Epic Games.

The 100th celebration for the Walt Disney Company at Disneyland will kick off January 27th, 2023! So many exciting things are happening like the opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Rail, the debut of M&M’s new platinum outfits, World of Color 1 and Wonderous Journeys will debut, and more!

The talk is Marvel plans on doing more “Special Presentations” instead of series. 

We’ve chosen the best soundtracks, the best Disney songs ever, and best hero songs, but with Halloween fast-approaching, we’d like to get a little dark and pay homage to the villains who highlight just how good our good guys are and maybe even haunt our nightmares at night. 

So which villain will reign supreme with the best villain song, one that represents their character, reveals their plan, or just shows how dastardly or downright evil they truly are? Listen in to find out.

But, it’s not perfect and in our various trips, we’ve done some things that we never need to or want to do again. So this week, we flip the script and talk instead about 10ish things we’d never do again in Disney.

WDW’s 50th Anniversary will officially end on March 31, 2023, about 18 months after it started. 

Disney announced that cast dress rehearsals for Fantasmic have started! Finally!!

And lastly, is it possible that Disney will basically get their own Amazon Prime-like service? The talk around town says yes. They’ve mentioned QR codes during Disney+ shows and exclusive merch, but is this something people really want?

It’s been a while, so this week we resurrect one of our staples shows, “You can only pick one.” 

This time we do “Paris Edition” choosing between different rides, shows, versions of the same ride in different parks, and merch. 

These are always so hard, but we always enjoy how they force us to be critical of things we typically wouldn’t be critical of. Especially when you have three great and unique shows that can only be seen in Paris.

Behind the Scenes tours in EPCOT are coming back October 2.

Skipper Canteen added some new food items including a hanger steak, lamb chops, and a delicious orange Dole whip drink.

It was announced that the Springtime Surprise Race will be Pixar-themed.

And finally, the Disney Legends were announced for this year and what’s very interesting is the cast of Frozen is on the list. Since Legend announcements usually commemorate some event, it makes us wonder, are they gonna announce Frozen 3?

Last week, we talked about our fantastic trip to Portugal with Adventures by Disney. This week we finish talking about our European getaway by rehashing about our visit to Disneyland Paris.

We talk about the parks, where we stayed, what’s the same, what’s different, what we ate, crowd levels, the AMAZING shows, their 30th anniversary celebration, the amazing shop almost entirely dedicated to the best Disney movie ever, and more!

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. Before we tell you all about our Adventures by Disney trip to Portugal, it’s time for a little Disney News!

While we were gone, a lot has happened. San Diego Comic Con for one, which had a few major announcements. The biggest of these was that Daredevil will be getting an 18 episode first season on Disney+. The biggest absence of an announcement though was regarding phase 6 of the MCU, which we assume will be reserved for D23.

Tokyo DisneySea debuted its new night show “Believe! Sea of Dreams” which replaced Phantasmic and features projection mapping on the Hotel MiraCosta.

Disney also had its earnings call. The parks are making money, but the streaming services are losing money. During the call, we learned that on December 8th, Disney+ will increase its cost $3 if you want to continue to watch your content ad free or you can continue to pay $7.99 but will have to watch with ads.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party stared on August 12. New this year is a Max Goof wearing a Powerline costume.

Phew! That was a lot of news!

Okay, we’re ready to dig in to our Adventures by Disney trip to Portugal. Adventures by Disney is essentially group travel with a pre-set itinerary and the Disney-level of service. The Portugal trip begins in Porto, then moves to the capital city of Lisbon and finishes up in the Algarve.

In this podcast, we discuss our favorite parts of the trip, our least favorite parts of the trip, the value of having the guides vs booking it yourselves, and give you a step by step of the experience. Then we candidly tell you whether or not we think it was worth it.

Disney held the D23 Expo this past weekend and boy did they deliver in terms of announcements for the parks.

Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro declared that nothing would be blue sky (which may have been a little bit of a stretch) and then announced a dozen new attractions at Disney parks throughout the world.

While we’re excited for the new lands (looking at you Lion King) there still is plenty of details we don’t know.

This week, we’re talking about one of the biggest Disney movie flops of all time: John Carter.

Based on a 1912 serialized story turned book, the 2012 sci-fi movie was plagued with difficulty since its inception. We give a lot of this history, discuss its source material, and then finally, give our opinions on the movie.

Why did it fail?

Also, the Top of the World Lounge is reopening and, after some retheming, will be called Top of the World Lounge: A Villain’s Lair. During this month, they’re offering a special opportunity to DVC members to do a cocktail/dessert party with viewing for fireworks for around $55.

This week, we will talk about Riverfront Square: the park that never was. Riverfront Square was probably the most famous failed park idea of Disney’s that was set to be built in St. Louis from 1963-1965. We discuss what the park would have included and why it was never built.

The long-awaited return of the Minnie vans will be on June 29!

And finally, cool new features using MagicBand+ have started appearing around Batuu where you try to find a bounty hunter.

This week, we use a Buzzfeed quiz to recast the MCU using 90s actors.

Who would make the best Thor?

Would Whoopi Goldberg make a good Vision?

There are some big changes to Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland! They’ve decided to break the timeline (Galaxy’s Edge is supposed to be between Episode 7 and 8). Boba Fett and Fennec Shand are already in the park. In the future, Mando and Grogu will be appearing.

We also got a preview of some new merch coming to the parks including new lightsaber parts and Ashoka ears.

Animal Kingdom is a beautiful park, but we often hear that people skip this park if they’re limited on time. This week, we give you a list of 10 reasons why we love Animal Kingdom.

How many places can you view a spectacular bird show, ride amazing thrill rides, see kites crash, and learn how to draw all while avoiding the crowds?

This week in Disney News, concept art and some preliminary plot details for Pixar’s newest movie Elemental were released on their social media.

In the parks, there have been a lot of little announcements. Disney will not be allowing people to prepurchase Genie+ after June 8. Also, on June 8th, ticket packages for 2023 will be going on sale. In addition to that, early park entry will continue through 2023.

Lastly, Variety published an article that a Daredevil series in the works!!!

Since the new Chip N’ Dale Rescue Rangers movie came out on Disney+ this past weekend, we figured we’d talk all about our second favorite rodent duo (after Mickey and Minnie, of course).

Chip n’ Dale have had an interesting ride from being antagonizing side characters to Pluto and Donald Duck in the 1940s all the way to headlining their own TV series in the late 80s. They’ve stayed mostly the same, but have also had some interesting facelifts (or CGI surgeries) along the way. Tune in to find out more about these two mischievous brothers/friends.

Starcruiser face painting is now available to help you to look like your favorite alien species!

And finally, Disney has released new concept art for EPCOT that’s different than the concept art that was released a few years ago.

This week, we’re going to talk all about the Keys to the Kingdom tour in Magic Kingdom we went on during our last trip to Disney.

As to not spoil the tour for anyone taking it, we’re not going to give you a play-by-play of the various surprises. Instead, we’re going to talk about the top 10 things we learned from our experience.

For example, did you know the windows on Main Street are there to act as both a beginning and end credits for the park!? 🤯 Mind-blowing, we know! Listen in for even more fun facts and definitely consider taking the tour yourself because it’s amazing!!

There’s a lot to say this week! In Disneyland Paris (which seems to be the testing ground for other parks) announced they’re creating a Premier Access Ultimate Pass, which gives you a lightning lane for 12 attractions. Is it coming to the U.S. next? We shall see!

Moving over to Tokyo Disneyland, the big news is they’re redoing Space Mountain and Tomorrowland. The area will close in 2024 and reopen in 2027.

Here in the U.S., the Paradise Pier Hotel in Disneyland will be redone to be Pixar-themed.

Also in Disneyland, the Oogie Boogie Bash will be returning to Disneyland. Over in Disney World, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will also return (in August!) with some special overlays!!!

And finally, down in Disney World, Florida’s government repealed the Reedy Creek Improvement District that basically allows Disney to have their own sort of government since Disney sits in 2 different counties. We’ll see what that means in the future.

After months of being closed, Expedition Everest reopened with no noticeable changes. Sorry, the Yeti is still broke.

To celebrate the Electrical Light Parade coming back, Disneyland will be selling a really cute Pete’s Dragon popcorn bucket and snail sipper.

Disney also announced ABC Network favorite Dancing with the Stars will no longer be on ABC, and will be the first live show on Disney+.

We asked you all to send in your questions to help us celebrate our 200th episode and you delivered! This week we answer questions about our most memorable moments, the four parks we’d like to visit,  first-timer must-have snacks, if we could do an episode on Disney’s silent shorts/films, best Pixar films by genre, favorite episode, and what Disney movie we’d like to live in. Plus, Joe works in a few extra games.

Since we didn’t have any news last week, we have plenty of Disney News this week! The new Toy Story hotel opened up in Tokyo Disney, and it looks a lot like Toy Story Land!

Character meet and greets are returning no sooner than April 18th.

The opening date for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was officially announced and will be May 27 (Memorial Day weekend).

Encanto will be making its first appearance at Disneyland on April 11th when they start the “We Don’t Talk about Bruno” show on it’s a Small World.

And lastly, KiteTails in Animal Kingdom will also be changing, "shifting the focus of the show so guests will be able to experience ‘Disney KiteTails’ from anywhere around the Discovery River Lagoon." We got the inside scoop on what that means.

This week we’re so excited to describe our latest Disney trip to you all! It was an action-packed 6 days where we ran 16.2 miles, ate an impressive amount of food from places we’d never tried before, and had a few fun and memorable experiences.

This week in Disney News, Disney announced they’re going to be building a new DVC Tower at the Poly where the Spirit of Aloha dinner show takes place. Obviously, reactions aren’t very enthusiastic as that show has been popular in the past.

Also, the Ms. Marvel tv show has a release date and a trailer dropped!

This week, we reimagine one of the best-designed Disney parks, the Animal Kingdom. Since Joe Rhode helped design the park, it’s beautiful in so many ways.

We tweak it by adding more attractions, since it’s one of the only ways it’s lacking. We talk about adding a Spaceship Earth-esque dinosaur ride, a Zootopia land (perfect fit, right?), and our two favorite pet-rides we keep asking for: Escape from Elephant Graveyards and Tarzan Tree Surfing.

Seriously though Disney, can we build these? We also reimagine the inside of the tree of life to include our favorite animal-loving member of the Madrigal family!

This week in Disney News, Disneyland announced the Main Street Electrical Light Parade, Disneyland Forever, and World of Color coming back to Disneyland on April 22, and Fantasmic will return May 28.

Across the country, Flower and Garden in Epcot starts on March 2. The menu this year sees the return of a lot of favorites along with some exciting new delicacies!

Several rides are going to be moving off of Lightning Lane and to Disney Genie+ including Frozen Ever After, Space Mountain, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Rail.

And the big news this week is the media embargo ended on the media previews, so there’s tons of information out there finally about the Galactic Starcruiser, and real experiences (however, they were all free experiences without the hefty price tag, so keep that in mind).

This week, we talk about the plausibility of various fan theories about your favorite Disney films and rate them from 1-5 ears.

Is there some secret government conspiracy to protect the identities of the littlest Incredibles?

Is Moana actually dead?

Disney delayed the Disney Wish’s maiden voyages. Good news for those of you who who booked one of the maiden voyages, you can rebook for a 50% discount. Man, do we regret not booking that trip!

Finally, we posted a poll what movie you're most looking forward to this year on YouTube, and Lightyear won by a landslide!

This week in Disney News, parades are officially coming back to the Magic Kingdom! The Festival of Fantasy parade will be returning March 9th!

Across the pond in Paris, they'll have a new drone show for their 30th anniversary along with some new iridescent costumes for Mickey and Minnie that are everything!

Finally, Disney announced their next live-action movie: The Aristocats. 

The MCU is ever-changing and ever-growing. With phase 1 complete, we contemplate where we see it going from here, especially after Spiderman: No Way Home.

We discuss a little bit about what we thought of the newest Spiderman movie, and then turn to what the ramifications are going forward in the MCU. Everything has been blown wide open. Without the TVA, it's possible there will be major changes to the new branch realities. Matthew Murdoch will be appearing again for sure in the Armor Wars series. Dr. Strange will face consequences of his decision to help Peter, which definitely damaged the fabric of reality. Plus, we see the possibility for stories from other universes already in Shang-Chi.

Disneyland Paris’s Disneyland Hotel will be getting a royal makeover. It’ll now be prince and princess themed. 

This week, we play guess the Marvel movie based on the terrible IMDB review. Let’s just say that people go HARD on their negative reviews, making us often question if we even watched the same movie. Also, many people get quite poetic, likening watching some of the best movies to going to the DMV or watching a “Horrible Hannah Montana Episode.” See how well you can guess along with us and laugh along the way.

We debate which princess, leading lady who isn’t a princess, leading man, sidekicks, villains, Disney parent, fairy, cat, and bird we would save, while allowing the souls of the others to swirl down into Hades’ pit for the rest of eternity. I may have to dive in Hercules-style to save a few though...it’s SO hard to pick just one!

This week in Disney News, people are doing a happy dance now that Disney's announcement that parking trams are coming back to the Magic Kingdom in Disney World.   And also, Amy Pascal, the producer of Spider-Man, said they're actually working on another Spider-Man trilogy with Tom Holland. Yay!!!   Whoosh! That's the kind of noise you'd expect to hear as Walt Disney flew past you on the slopes, and the sound you might expect to have heard at Disney's Ski Resort.   Yes, you read that right, Disney almost built a ski resort in California.   This week, our news comes from Destination D23 in Orlando, which centered around the news of all of the things that will be opening in 2022, but with no exact dates. The Festival of Fantasy Parade and Fantasmic will be returning! Guardians of the Galaxy will open. The second Avengers Campus will be opening in Paris in the summer. And in a surprising twist, Disneyland will be getting Magic Bands! The news interestingly did not include an announcement that Tron will be opening in 2022, which makes us wonder if they'll save it until 2023.   It's amazing all of the good food there is to be had at Disney if you only know where to find it! For example, did you know you can get chicken and donuts for dinner?   How about a meatless crab cake sandwich? Neither did we!   This week, since many of our American listeners are still probably eating leftovers from their Thanksgiving feasts, we decided to make the episode all about food. Using touringplans.com's food rankings for table service and quick service in every park, we discuss where are the best places to eat, where we love to eat, and where we're anxious to try on our next trip! Then we also highlight some food items from various menus that tickled our fancy. (That's a weird expression, isn't it?
