Episode 238
jeudi 12 septembre 2024 • Duration 12:20
Hi there
In this week’s episode, we bring you an update from podcast episode 196 of this podcast, about the progress of the new labour government in bringing online, new employment rights for a four-day work week. The government is planning to bring new legislation online in the Autum of 2024, and in this update, we look at what the government is proposing.
We’ll put a link to that episode in the show notes, if you want to go back and have a re-listen.

If you need help with queries about rest breaks, you can download our Employment Rights Online checklist of 15 smart actions that you can use to help you challenge unfair and illegal treatment at work. #237: If Your Boss Is Turning You Into a Workaholic, 'The Right to Switch Off' May Be Just What You Need to Protect Your Private Life! Here's What the Government Are Discussing!
Episode 237
jeudi 5 septembre 2024 • Duration 14:08
Hi there
This week we look at concerns if your boss or your company always expect you to be logged on or at work, even after you have finished your shift or your hours for the day. We touch on the increasing levels of ‘workaholicism’, this treatment is creating, and plans by the UK government to bring in legislation or regulations to counter the damaging effects of not switching off from your job.
It's our view, that the more you are able to acquaint yourself with your employment rights in this area, the more your rights will act as an early warning system, which you can use to spot bad treatment or illegal treatment that you may be suffering at work. If you need help to formulate your complaint you can download a copy of our ‘Complaints Checklist’ here.

#134: How You Know You’re Being Bullied at Work By a Narcissist and What to Do About This!
Episode 134
jeudi 25 août 2022 • Duration 15:05
Hi there
We hope you are having a problem free employment rights week. Wouldn’t it be great, to just get a break …from bad behaviour at work!
This week, as we move nearer towards the launch of our Bullying Course, which is part of our Bullying Surgery services, we take a look at narcissistic workplace bullying, which is perhaps one of the most difficult forms of bullying you will ever have to deal with at work. Why? Because a narcissistic workplace bully will break all the universal moral codes to get to you and bully the life out of you, just for the hell of it.
Our take aways for this week’s episode are, that there are different types of bullies in the workplace and when you are dealing with a narcissistic workplace bully you are dealing with a unique set of challenges because of the persistent and deliberate attempts by this type of bully, to degrade you into submitting to their self-importance.
We will be dealing with all this in our forthcoming Bullying Course which launches in October 2022. If you would like more information… you can contact Employment Rights Online at employmentrightsonline@gmail.com.
You can find all your support links at the bottom of these show notes and …you can help us by sharing our podcast information with your friends and colleagues and by leaving us a review on iTunes. Don’t forget to email us your interest in our Bullying Course.

Our take aways for this week’s episode are: that quiet quitting has become the go to strategy for people who are trying to preserve their sanity in the workplace. The key to survival is to do just enough to get you through your working day, and to then take back your time… and do you.

#132: Can You Be Disciplined or Sacked Because Others Made Offensive Comments to Your Angry Social Media Post About Your Boss. Here’s What You Need to Know!
Episode 132
jeudi 11 août 2022 • Duration 17:22
Hi there
We hope you are able to use your employment rights to support your right to fair treatment at work. This is your legal entitlement.
In last week’s episode, we looked at what could happen if you use your private social media accounts to make negative comments not just about work, but negative comments that could affect the reputation of the company you work for. We also look at whether the company has a right to sack you for this, even though your comments are made from your own private social media account.
This week we answer the question posed to us last week regarding whether you can be disciplined or sacked for complaining about workplace issues on social media – with a twist! The twist is whether you can then be held responsible and disciplined or sacked, for any negative comments in support of your posts, which come from friends and others on your feed, which your company may see as an act of misconduct.
You can find all our support links at the bottom of the show notes where you’re listening to this week’s episode, which includes our Free checklist on the top 15 things you can do, if you need to bring a complaint at work. We also include some template letters you can use to write your complaint. Remember, you can help us by sharing our podcast information with your friends and colleagues and by leaving us a review on ITunes.
Until next week… have a great employment rights week
