Ep. 61: Genuinely. Organized. Badasses. (Tongan Castaways)

mardi 14 décembre 2021Duration 00:00

This week Jenna and Kelsey talk about the story of the Tongan Castaways, a group of 6 teenage boys who became shipwhrecked, stranded on a depopulated island, and survived all together for over a year and all survived! They overcame so much and overcame it together, taking care of each other and establishing an excellent camp on the island of 'Ata, for a total of 15 months! The boys were finally rescued by an Australian sailor and businessman Peter Warner on September 11, 1966. Their story went viral in 2020 are referred to as the "Real-Life "Lord of the Flies"", even though these 6 boys were a genuine example of humans surviving together who never turned on each other. We can all certainly learn a lot for them, but the survival tip this week is to look out for one another. And as Sione says, "Shut up, cool down, sit down, listen."
