Hermano Juan Fisher: Bienvenidos queridos amigos, al programa El Mensaje es un programa presentado por la Iglesia De Cristo. Soy el Hermano Juan Fisher. Gracias por acompañarnos a este programa para nuestro estudio de las palabras del Señor Dios escritas en las Sagradas Escrituras. La Santa Biblia es el libro más distribuido y leído mundialmente. Según el artículo de businessinsider.com “Los 10 libros más leídos en el Mundo”:

“El libro más leído en el mundo es la Biblia. Igualmente, el libro más vendido según el Guinness Book of World Records es la Biblia.”
Para la Iglesia De Cristo, la Biblia no es un libro ordinario. La Biblia es muy especial, porque contiene las palabras de Dios. En Jeremías 30:2 (La Biblia de las Américas), escuchen por favor:
Así dice el Señor, Dios de Israel: «Escribe en un libro todas las palabras que te he hablado.

Hno. Juan: El libro en su totalidad donde Dios mandó a Sus siervo a escribir Sus palabras son las Sagradas Escrituras como lo declara en 2 Timoteo 3:15-17 (La Biblia de las Américas):
y que desde la niñez has sabido las Sagradas Escrituras, las cuales te pueden dar la sabiduría que lleva a la salvación mediante la fe en Cristo Jesús. Toda Escritura es inspirada por Dios y útil para enseñar, para reprender, para corregir, para instruir en justicia, a fin de que el hombre de Dios sea perfecto, equipado para toda buena obra.

Hno. Juan: La Biblia se llama Sagradas Escrituras porque es una colección de libros. 39 en el Antiguo Testamento, 27 en el Nuevo Testamento, 66 en su totalidad. Pero la Biblia no es un libro ordinario porque su autor es realmente el Señor Dios cómo lo declara en este versículo:
“… Toda Escritura es inspirada por Dios…”
No sólo equipará al hombre con buena moral, sino que lo hará sabio para la salvación.
Este es el mayor beneficio que recibirán las personas cuando lleguen al verdadero entendimiento y obediencia completa a las palabras de nuestro Señor Dios escritas en las Sagradas Escrituras. Sin embargo, queridos amigos, hay un concepto erróneo con respecto a la Biblia que impedirá que las personas reciban la salvación que traerán las palabras del Señor Dios. ¿Cuál es el concepto erróneo? La creencia de que la Biblia es un “libro abierto” o que cualquiera puede entenderla e interpretarla simplemente leyéndola, ese es el concepto erróneo—los que tienen esta mentalidad están cometiendo un gran error.
Y queridos amigos, es posible que se pregunten, que si los miembros de la Iglesia De Cristo tienen la prohibición de leer la Biblia, no. No existe tal prohibición de que los miembros de la Iglesia De Cristo se les prohíbe leer la Biblia. Sin embargo, la Iglesia De Cristo no está de acuerdo con la creencia de que la Biblia es un “libro abierto” que puede ser entendido e interpretado por cualquiera que la lea. Para ilustrar este punto, vayamos a la Biblia. Lo que vamos a examinar es el caso del eunuco etíope narrado en Hechos 8:27-31 Nueva Traducción Viviente, escuchen por favor:
Entonces él emprendió su viaje y se encontró con el tesorero de Etiopía, un eunuco de mucha autoridad bajo el mando de Candace, la reina de Etiopía. El eunuco había ido a Jerusalén a adorar y ahora venía de regreso. Sentado en su carruaje, leía en voz alta el libro del profeta Isaías. El Espíritu Santo le dijo a Felipe: «Acércate y camina junto al carruaje. Felipe se acercó corriendo y oyó que el hombre leía al profeta Isaías. Felipe le preguntó:—¿Entiendes lo que estás leyendo? El hombre contestó: —¿Y cómo puedo entenderlo, a menos que alguien me explique? Y le rogó a Felipe que subiera al carruaje y se sentara junto a él.

Hno. Juan: En estos pasajes bíblicos hay un eunuco que había ido a Jerusalén a adorar y ahora venía de regreso. ¿Qué estaba haciendo? La Biblia dice,
“… leía en voz alta el libro del profeta Isaías.”
¿Y donde encontramos el libro de Isaías? El libro de Isaías es uno de los Libros de la Biblia que se encuentran en el Antiguo Testamento. Felipe, que era uno de los siervos de Dios, fue enviado al eunuco y le preguntó si el eunuco entendía lo que estaba leyendo, su respuesta fue: “¿Y cómo puedo entenderlo, a menos que alguien me explique?” Se fijaron, queridos amigos, esto muestra claramente que no importa cuán grande sea la autoridad de una persona, o la autoridad que tenga esa persona, necesita todavía alguien que le instruya acerca de las palabras del Señor Dios escritas en la Biblia. A la verdad, la Biblia no es un libro abierto. ¿Cuál es la cualidad de la Biblia, por lo que uno no simplemente puede leerla para encontrar la verdad y la comprensión de ella? En 1 Corintios 2:6-8 (La Biblia de las Américas), dice lo siguiente:
Sin embargo, hablamos sabiduría entre los que han alcanzado madurez; pero una sabiduría no de este siglo, ni de los gobernantes de este siglo, que van desapareciendo, sino que hablamos sabiduría de Dios en misterio, la sabiduría oculta que, desde antes de los siglos, Dios predestinó para nuestra gloria; la sabiduría que ninguno de los gobernantes de este siglo ha entendido, porque si la hubieran entendido no habrían crucificado al Señor de gloria;

Hno. Juan: Tengan en cuenta de este testimonio del Apóstol Pablo con respecto a las palabras de Dios. Él dijo:“Sino que hablamos sabiduría de Dios en misterio, la sabiduría oculta.” Se fijaron, queridos amigos, las palabras de Dios son un misterio, una sabiduría oculta que, de acuerdo con el Apóstol Pablo: “una sabiduría no de este siglo, ni de los gobernantes de este siglo…” Por lo tanto, aunque una persona tenga una buena educación, o ejerza un gran poder o una gran influencia en la sociedad, uno no simplemente puede leer la Biblia, entenderla e interpretarla. ¿Y por qué? Porque no es un libro abierto. Está oculto en el misterio. ¿Y qué tal si uno trata de entender la Biblia a través del autoaprendizaje diligente, sería capaz de llegar a la comprensión o conocimiento de la verdad? No—amigos, no lo haría. Y eso es lo que se prueba en 2 Timoteo 3:7 (La Biblia de las Américas), escuchen por favor. Les leyere:
siempre aprendiendo, pero que nunca pueden llegar al pleno conocimiento de la verdad.

Hno. Juan: Las personas mencionadas aquí por el Apóstol Pablo son personas verdaderamente dedicadas y diligentes en el estudio de las palabras del Señor Dios, pues él dijo que están “siempre aprendiendo.” Pero, ¿qué testificó acerca de sus esfuerzos por estudiar las palabras del Señor Dios? Dijo: “Nunca pueden llegar al pleno conocimiento de la verdad.” Y por lo tanto, la formación académica, la inteligencia, el poder, la influencia y todo similar a esto nunca pueden llevar a uno a comprender la verdad o las palabras de Dios. Y aunque la Biblia puede ser leída por una persona en su propio idioma debido a la disponibilidad de varias traducciones de la Biblia, uno no puede comprender el conocimiento de la verdad por sí mismo.
El Apóstol Pedro incluso aclaró esto, lo aclaró diciendo, que la Biblia, o las Sagradas Escrituras, tampoco son de interpretación privada. Y eso está en 2 Pedro 1:20 (La Biblia de las Américas), escuchen por favor:
Pero ante todo sabed esto, que ninguna profecía de la Escritura es asunto de interpretación personal

Hno. Juan: Ya que la Biblia no es un libro abierto, oculto en el misterio, y no puede ser entendido por el propio conocimiento, poder, diligencia o dedicación al estudiarlo, ¿cómo podrá alguien entender las palabras de Dios escritas en las Sagradas Escrituras?

Hno. Juan: Anteriormente hemos hablado que la Biblia es verdaderamente muy importante y no es como cualquier otro libro o literatura escrita por el hombre. La Biblia contiene las palabras del Señor Dios, el Señor Dios es su autor, y entendiendo y cumpliendo su verdad llevará al hombre a la salvación. Sin embargo, lo que mucha gente cree, que la Biblia es un libro abierto para que todos la interpreten, eso es un concepto erróneo. Tal creencia llevará a uno a la destrucción en lugar de a la salvación. Sin embargo, no significa que esté mal leer la Biblia. De hecho, en la Iglesia De Cristo, a los miembros no se les prohíbe, sino que se les anima a leer la Biblia. Pero como lo atestiguan los pasajes bíblicos, primero, la Biblia no es un libro abierto porque está oculto en misterio; segundamente, ni siquiera puede ser entendido por cualquiera, a través del autoestudio diligente, y tercer punto, no es para interpretación privada. Antes del descanso, hicimos la pregunta, ¿cómo se podrán entender las palabras del Señor Dios escritas en la Biblia o las Sagradas Escrituras? Vayamos a la Biblia para encontrar la respuesta aquí en 2 Pedro 1:20-21 (La Biblia de las Américas), escuchemos por favor:
Pero ante todo sabed esto, que ninguna profecía de la Escritura es asunto de interpretación personal, pues ninguna profecía fue dada jamás por un acto de voluntad humana, sino que hombres inspirados por el Espíritu Santo hablaron de parte de Dios.

Hno. Juan: El Apóstol Pedro aclaró que, “… ninguna profecía de la Escritura es asunto de interpretación personal …” Entonces, ¿cómo es que alguien puede entender la verdad? Dijo que además,
“ninguna profecía fue dada jamás por un acto de voluntad humana, sino que hombres inspirados por el Espíritu Santo hablaron de parte de Dios.”
Y por lo tanto, hay hombres nombrados por el Señor Dios a través del Espíritu Santo con la tarea de hablar Sus palabras. ¿Quiénes son? Al igual que el Apóstol Pedro, son mensajeros de Dios, los enviados por el Señor Dios como lo atestigua el Apóstol Pablo en Romanos 10:15 (La Biblia de las Américas), escuchemos por favor:
¿Y cómo predicarán si no son enviados? Tal como está escrito: ¡Cuán hermosos son los pies de los que anuncian el evangelio del bien!

Juan: Por lo tanto, es imperativo que las personas comprendan la verdad escrita en la Biblia, deben aceptar y escuchar la predicación de los mensajeros de Dios. ¿Por qué debería uno aceptar y escuchar a los mensajeros del Señor Dios? Este es el testimonio del más grande mensajero del Señor Dios, el mismo Señor Jesucristo, en Marcos 4:10-12 (La Biblia de las Américas), escuchen lo que está escrita en estos pasajes:
Cuando se quedó solo, sus seguidores junto con los doce, le preguntaban sobre las parábolas. Y les decía: A vosotros os ha sido dado el misterio del reino de Dios, pero los que están afuera reciben todo en parábolas; para que viendo vean pero no perciban, y oyendo oigan pero no entiendan, no sea que se conviertan y sean perdonados.
Marcos 4:10-12: La Biblia De Las Américas
Hno. Juan: En el versículo que hemos leído, el Señor Jesucristo está hablando a Sus Apóstoles quienes también son mensajeros del Señor Dios. ¿Qué les testificó Cristo? Él dijo: “A vosotros os ha sido dado el misterio del reino de Dios; …” Los mensajeros del Señor Dios son los únicos a los que se les da el conocimiento del misterio del reino de Dios. Uno no simplemente puede pretender de conocer la verdad del evangelio. Deben ser nombrados por el Señor Dios como mensajeros y recibir el conocimiento del Reino de Dios o la salvación. ¿Cómo debe la gente reconocer a los mensajeros del Señor Dios? Ellos son administradores de los misterios de Dios y eso es como testifica el Apóstol Pablo en 1 Corintios 4:1 (La Biblia de las Américas):
Que todo hombre nos considere de esta manera: como servidores de Cristo y administradores de los misterios de Dios.

Hno. Juan: Verdaderamente, los verdaderos mensajeros del Señor Dios son importantísimos, porque a ellos se les ha confiado el conocimiento de las palabras de Dios que llevarán al hombre a la salvación. Uno no puede afirmar que simplemente necesita tener una relación personal con el Señor Dios y servirle a base de su propio conocimiento, de sus propias maneras o entendimiento.
La creencia de que la Biblia es un libro abierto o está abierta a la interpretación personal es muy peligrosa, porque esto impedirá que una persona se acerque, acepte y escuche la verdad que enseña los mensajeros del Señor Dios. Esto llevará a la persona a la destrucción y no al reino de Dios y la salvación. En estos últimos días, el Señor Dios también envió un mensajero para que la gente entienda Su justicia con respecto a la salvación. En la Iglesia De Cristo, creemos firmemente que el Señor Dios envió al Hermano Félix Ysagun Manalo como Su mensajero en estos últimos días. Su autoridad está atestiguada por las profecías declaradas en la Biblia, una de las cuales está escrita en Isaías 46:11-13 Biblia del Jubileo, escuchemos por favor atentamente:
Que llamo desde el oriente al ave de rapiña, y de tierra lejana al varón de mi consejo. Yo hablé, por eso lo haré venir; lo pensé, y también lo haré. Oídme duros de corazón, que estáis lejos de la justicia. Haré a mi justicia que se acerque, y no se alejará; y mi salvación no se detendrá. Y pondré salvación en Sion; y mi gloria en Israel.

Hno. Juan: ¿Qué es una profecía? Una profecía es un testimonio que tendrá lugar después de su declaración. Esta profecía se trata de un ave de rapiña que vendrá del oriente. Pero, ¿es literalmente una ave de rapiña en la profecía? No, hermanos. Porque también se aclara que es un hombre que ejecuta el consejo de Dios. ¿Quién fue el cumplimiento de esta profecía? Esta profecía se cumplió en el Hermano Félix Manalo. ¿Y por qué estamos seguros? Porque el lugar de surgimiento está declarado : vendría del “… oriente … de tierra lejana.” Y en la profecía relacionada, ese lugar es el Lejano Oriente, como está escrito en Isaías 43:5. El cumplimiento de esto es Filipinas. Filipinas, un país en el lejano oriente: esto es lo que podemos leer en un libro titulado Asia y las Filipinas, escrito por Horacio dela Costa, un sacerdote jesuita, en la página 169:
“No puede carecer de significado que Filipinas, el país que se sitúa casi en el centro geográfico del lejano oriente, es también el país donde el cristianismo ha calado más hondo.”

Hno. Juan: ¿Cuál es la obra encomendada por el Señor Dios al Hermano Félix Manalo? Volviendo a Isaías 46:13, es acercar la justicia del Señor Dios o el evangelio para que el pueblo se salve. Esto se cumplió en la obra del Hno. Félix Manalo. Con la ayuda de Dios, muchas personas, durante el tiempo del Hermano Félix Manalo, fueron iluminadas por la verdad escrita en la Biblia y se convirtieron en miembros de la verdadera Iglesia De Cristo. Es en esta Iglesia donde se encuentran los autorizados para predicar la palabra de Dios. Aunque el mensajero falleció, ¿qué hizo el Señor Dios para que Su verdad fuera revelada o dada a conocer continuamente? Este es el testimonio del Apóstol Pablo en 1 Corintios 12:28 (La Biblia de las Américas), escuchemos lo que está escrito:
Y en la iglesia, Dios ha designado: primeramente, apóstoles; en segundo lugar, profetas; en tercer lugar, maestros; luego, milagros; después, dones de sanidad, ayudas, administraciones, diversas clases de lenguas.

Hno. Juan: Tengan en cuenta que el Señor Dios ha designado una Administración en la Iglesia. Así como a los apóstoles se les encomendó administrar la Iglesia De Cristo en el primer siglo cuando el Señor Jesucristo ascendió al cielo, la actual Administración continúa administrando la Iglesia De Cristo en estos últimos días tras el fallecimiento del mensajero de Dios, el Hermano Félix Manalo.
¿Qué encomendó el Señor Dios a la Administración de la Iglesia y cuál es su tarea dada por Dios? Colosenses 1:25 (La Biblia de las Américas), así podemos leer en estos versículos:
de la cual fui hecho ministro conforme a la administración de Dios que me fue dada para beneficio vuestro, a fin de llevar a cabo la predicación de la palabra de Dios,

Hno. Juan: El Señor Dios encomendó a la Administración de la Iglesia Sus palabras y la tarea, como dijo el Apóstol Pablo, “De llevar a cabo la predicación de la palabra” del Señor Dios. Por lo tanto, la verdadera comprensión de las palabras de Dios para la salvación se da a conocer continuamente a los miembros de la Iglesia De Cristo a través de su Administración. Y esta es la razón por la cual, aunque a los miembros de la Iglesia De Cristo no se les prohíbe leer la Biblia, no le dan su propia interpretación o significado. Ellos hacen la obligación de consultar a la Administración de la Iglesia a través de los ministros y trabajadores ministeriales en la Iglesia acerca de las palabras del Señor Dios, porque son ellos a quienes se les confió el entendimiento de las palabras de Dios y la autoridad para predicarlas. La Administración de la Iglesia con la ayuda de los ministros y trabajadores ministeriales de la Iglesia De Cristo también hacen todo lo posible para ayudar a las personas que aún no son miembros de la Iglesia a tener el verdadero conocimiento de las palabras de Dios para que sean salvos. Debido a su predicación incansable de la verdad, muchos se han unido a la Iglesia De Cristo. Muchos de los que se unieron a la Iglesia eran ex pastores de varias religiones que incluso trajeron sus propias Biblias mientras estudiaban las palabras de Dios enseñadas en la Iglesia de Cristo. Pudieron comprender la verdad que cambió sus vidas para siempre. Se embarcaron en un viaje que les cambió la vida al unirse a la Iglesia De Cristo.

Hno. Johnny De Guzman: (en inglés) Es considerado en el país más pobre del Hemisferio Occidental… carece de cosas básicas como agua corriente y electricidad 24/7. La mayoría de las personas viven con $1.50 por día y solo comen una comida al día. La mayoría de sus trabajos tienen que ver con la agricultura. Sí, es muy duro vivir allí.

Diuenel Joseph: (en inglés Tenemos un problema de unirnos. Pero [el] pueblo haitiano también es un pueblo religioso. Les encanta escuchar acerca de Dios. Pero también en Haití tenemos diferentes iglesias, diferentes nombres, diferentes creencias.
Hno. Johnny De Guzman: Amados hermanos. El Tiempo designado de nuestro servicio de adoración ha llegado.
Dieunel Joseph: Pero [la] Iglesia de Cristo ha traído algo en Haití. Me gusta lo que es, está hablando de unidad. Unidad. Una Iglesia verdadera.

Hno. Johnny De Guzman: (en inglés)…ni siquiera estaba allí para la misión evangélica. Se suponía que iba a traducir, dice, “Oh, wow. Me gustan tus enseñanzas. Me gustaría aprender más.” Una de las primeras personas que conocí en Petit Goave fue el hermano Dieunel Joseph. Actualmente es miembro de la Iglesia de Cristo y ex pastor de L’Eglise Canaán di Haití.
Hno. Johnny De Guzman: ¿Pero por qué hicieron eso? Porque eso fue lo que la Administración, los líderes de la iglesia designaron en ese momento.
Dieunel: Creí que estaba convencido de que lo llevé a mi congregación aquí en Petit Goave, y enseñó muchas lecciones que la gente cree.

Pero si camina todo el tiempo, le tomará alrededor de 3 horas llegar al lugar del estudio bíblico. Una de las otras dificultades que hay es que el estudio bíblico no se puede hacer a las 5 pm oa las 6 pm Se tiene que hacer temprano en la mañana o en la tarde porque no hay electricidad.

Hno. Johnny: (en inglés) Aceptaron todas las doctrinas, pero su pregunta era ¿por qué tienen que volver a bautizarse?
Dieunel: (en inglés) Y esta enseñanza es muy nueva. Dicen cosas como: “Eso, enseñanza, ¿qué? ¿Dónde? Una buena enseñanza, ya la escucharon, pero como no escucharon esta enseñanza en ninguna iglesia en Haití, dicen que es una enseñanza extranjera. Muchos de mis compañeros en Haití, no ven que sea bueno que yo reciba lo que ellos llaman “otro bautismo.” Empecé a recibir una especie de persecución. Mi congregación no aceptaron mis creencias porque, porque no quería darle un nombre a la iglesia. Dije: “Le pido a Dios que algún día Él haga que envíe a alguien para que le dé el nombre a la iglesia.” No sé el nombre de la iglesia. Entonces tenemos—teníamos diferentes creencias. Por eso me siento orgulloso cuando lo conocí le dieron el nombre correcto.
Hno. Johnny: Porque para ellos, la Biblia dice que hay un solo bautismo, pero lo pudieron superar cuando vieron que había una sola Iglesia verdadera, la Iglesia de Cristo.
Dieunel: Uno de los hermanos de la Iglesia De Cristo usa nuestra Biblia en Haití, nuestra Biblia criolla. Entonces la gente dice: “Mira, no es otra Biblia. Es la misma Biblia que escuchamos, la que tenemos en nuestras iglesias en Haití.”
Hno. Johnny: Y ese bautismo, el único bautismo verdadero que está en la Biblia, es el bautismo dentro de la Iglesia De Cristo, a la cual pertenecemos.

The Bible: Is It Open to Interpretation?
Brother Juan Fisher: Welcome, dear friends, to the program El Mensaje. El Mensaje is a program presented by the Church Of Christ. I am Brother Juan Fisher.
Thank you for joining us on this program as we study the words of the Lord God written in the Holy Scriptures.
“The Holy Bible is the world’s most widely distributed and read book.” According to the article of businessinsider.com
The most read book in the world is the Bible. Likewise, the best-selling book according to the Guinness Book of World Records is the Bible.
For the Church Of Christ, the Bible is not an ordinary book. The Bible is very special because it contains the words of God.
Jeremiah 30:2 (New King James Version), please listen :
2 “Thus speaks the LORD God of Israel, saying: ‘Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you.

Brother Juan Fisher: The book in totality where God’s servants commanded by Him to write His words is the Holy Scriptures as stated in 2 Timothy 3:15-17 New King James Version, let’s listen:
15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Brother Juan Fisher:The Bible is called Holy Scriptures for it is a collection of books, 39 in the Old Testament, 27 in the New Testament, 66 in totality. But the Bible is not an ordinary book for its author is truly the Lord God as stated in the verse:
“… All Scripture is given by inspiration of God …”
Brother Juan Fisher: Not only will it equip man with good morals, it will make one wise for salvation.
This is the greatest benefit that people will receive when they come to the true understanding and total obedience of God’s words written in the Holy Scriptures. But there is a misconception regarding the Bible that will hinder people from receiving salvation that the words of God will bring. The belief that the Bible is an “open book” or that it can be understood and interpreted by anybody by simply reading it is an erroneous concept—those who have this mentality are committing a big mistake.
You might be wondering, dear friends, if Iglesia Ni Cristo or Church Of Christ members are prohibited from reading the Bible. No. There isn’t any prohibition on Church Of Christ members reading the Bible. However, the Church Of Christ does not agree with the belief that the Bible is an “open book” that can be understood and interpreted by anyone reading it. To illustrate this point, let’s turn to the Bible. What we are going to examine is the case of the Ethiopian eunuch stated in Acts 8:27-31 New Living Translation:
27 So he started out, and he met the treasurer of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under the Kandake, the queen of Ethiopia. The eunuch had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and he was now returning. Seated in his carriage, he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah. 29 The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.” 30 Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 The man replied, “How can I, unless someone instructs me?” And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him.

Brother Juan Fisher: In these biblical passages, there is a eunuch who had gone to Jerusalem to worship, and is now returning. What was he doing? The Bible says,
“… he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah.”
And where do we find the book of Isaiah? The book of Isaiah is one of the Books of the Bible found in the Old Testament. Philip, who was one of God’s servants was sent to the eunuch and asked if the eunuch understood what he was reading, his reply was,
“How can I, when there is no one to instruct me?”
Brother Juan Fisher: Friends, notice how this clearly shows that no matter how great a person’s authority is, or how much authority that person has, he still needs someone to instruct him about God’s words written in the Bible. Truthfully, the Bible is not an open book.
What is the quality of the Bible, which is why one cannot simply read it to find the truth and the understanding of it? In 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 New King James Version, it says the following:
6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Brother Juan Fisher: Notice this testimony of Apostle Paul regarding God’s words. He said:
“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained,”
Take note, dear friends, God’s words are a mystery, a hidden wisdom that, according to Apostle Paul: “none of the rulers of this age knew;”
Hence, even though a person may be well-educated, or wields a great power or great influence in the society, still one cannot simply read the Bible, understand and interpret it. And why? Because it is not an open book. It is hidden in mystery.
And what if one tries to understand the Bible through diligent self-study, would he be able to come to the understanding or knowledge of the truth? No—they would not. And that is what is proven in 2 Timothy 3:7 New King James Version, please listen. I will read it:
7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Brother Juan Fisher: The people mentioned here by Apostle Paul are people who are truly dedicated and are diligent in studying God’s words, for he said that they are “always learning.” But what did he testify concerning their efforts in studying God’s words? He said: “never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Hence, educational background, intelligence, power, influence and the like can never lead one to understanding the truth or the Lord God’s words. And even though the Bible can be read by a person in his own language because of the availability of various Bible translations, still one cannot understand the knowledge of the truth by himself.
Apostle Peter even clarified this that the Bible, or the Holy Scriptures—is not of private interpretation either. And that’s in 2 Peter 1:20 New King James Version, please listen:
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,

Brother Juan Fisher: Since the Bible is not an open book, hidden in mystery, and cannot be understood through one’s own knowledge, power, diligence or dedication in studying it, how will someone be able to understand God’s words written in the Holy Scriptures?

Brother Juan Fisher: Earlier we discussed that the Bible is truly very important and it is not like any other book or literature written by man. The Bible contains the Lord God’s words, God is its author, and by understanding and fulfilling its truth will lead man to salvation.
However, what many people believe, that the Bible is an open book for everyone to interpret, is wrong. Such belief will lead one to destruction instead of salvation. It does not mean though that it is wrong to read the Bible. In fact, in the Church Of Christ, members are not forbidden, but rather are encouraged to read the Bible. But as attested to through biblical passages, 1) The Bible is not an open book for it is hidden in mystery, 2) It cannot even be understood by just anyone, through diligent self-study, and 3) it is not for private interpretation.
Before the break, we asked the question, how will one be able to understand the Lord God’s words written in the Bible, or the Holy Scriptures? Let us turn to the Bible for the answer here in 2 Peter 1:20-21 New King James Version, let’s please listen:
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Brother Juan Fisher: Apostle Peter clarified that
“… no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation … “
So, how can someone understand the truth? He further said,
“… for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
And so, there are men appointed by God through the Holy Spirit with the task of speaking His words.
Who are they? Like Apostle Peter, they are God’s messengers, the ones sent by God as attested to by Apostle Paul in Romans 10:15 NKJV, let’s please listen:
15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

Brother Juan Fisher: Hence, it is imperative that for people to understand the truth written in the Bible, they need to accept and listen to the preaching of God’s Messengers.
Why should one accept and listen to the Lord God’s messengers? This is the testimony of the greatest messenger of the Lord God, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, in Mark 4:10-12 New King James Version
10 But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, 12 so that ‘Seeing they may see and not perceive, And hearing they may hear and not understand; Lest they should turn, And their sins be forgiven them.’ ”

Brother Juan Fisher: In the verse that we have read, the Lord Jesus Christ is speaking to His Apostles who are also messengers of the Lord God. What did Christ attest to them? He said,
“To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; …”
The Lord God’s messengers are the only ones given the knowledge of the mystery of the Kingdom of God. One cannot merely claim to know the truth of the gospel. They must be appointed by God as messengers and be given the knowledge of the Kingdom of God or salvation.
How should people recognize the messengers of the Lord God? They are stewards of the mysteries of God. And that’s what is testified by Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 4:1 New King James Version:
1 Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Brother Juan Fisher: Truly, true messengers of God are important, for they have been entrusted with the knowledge of the words of God that will lead man to salvation. One cannot claim that he simply needs to have a personal relationship with the Lord God and serve Him based on his own ways or understanding.
The belief that the Bible is an open book or is open for personal interpretation is very dangerous, for this will prevent a person from approaching, accepting, and listening to the truth taught by God’s messengers. This will lead a person to destruction and not to the kingdom of God and salvation.
In these last days, the Lord God also sent a messenger to make people understand His righteousness regarding salvation. In the Church Of Christ, we firmly believe that God sent Brother Felix Ysagun Manalo as His messenger in these last days. His authority is attested by prophecies stated in the Bible, one of which is written in Isaiah 46:11-13 New King James Version let’s listen attentively:
11 Calling a bird of prey from the east, The man who executes My counsel, from a far country. Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it. 12 “Listen to Me, you stubborn-hearted, Who are far from righteousness: 13 I bring My righteousness near, it shall not be far off; My salvation shall not linger. And I will place salvation in Zion, For Israel My glory.

Brother Juan Fisher: What is a prophecy? A prophecy is a testimony that would take place after its declaration. This prophecy is about a bird of prey who would come from the east. But is the bird of prey in the prophecy a literal bird? No. Because it is also clarified that he is a man who executes our Lord God’s counsel.
Who was the fulfillment of this prophecy? This prophecy was fulfilled by Brother Felix Manalo. Why are we certain? Because the place of emergence is also stated in the prophecy: he would come from “… the east … from a far country”. And in the related prophecy, that place is the Far East, as is written in Isaiah 43:5 (James Moffatt Translation)
The fulfillment of which is the Philippines, a country in the far East: this is what we can read in a book entitled Asia and the Philippines by Horacio dela Costa, a Jesuit priest, in page 169:
“It cannot be without significance that the country which stands almost at the geographical center of the Far East, the Philippines, should also be that in which Christianity has taken its deepest root.”

Brother Juan Fisher: What is the work entrusted by the Lord God to Brother Felix Y. Manalo? Going back to Isaiah 46:13, it is to bring the Lord God’s righteousness or the gospel near in order for the people to be saved. This was fulfilled in the work of Brother Felix Manalo.
By God’s help, many people, during the time of Brother Felix Manalo, were enlightened by the truth recorded in the Bible and became members of the true Church Of Christ—Iglesia Ni Cristo.
It is in this Church where those who are authorized to preach God’s words are found.
Although the messenger was laid to rest, what did the Lord God do in order for His truth to continuously be revealed or made known?
This is Apostle Paul’s testimony in 1 Corinthians 12:28 New King James Version, let’s listen to what is written:
28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

Brother Juan Fisher: Notice that God has appointed an Administration in the Church. Like how the apostles were entrusted to administer the Church Of Christ in the first century when the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, the current Church Administration continues to administer the Church Of Christ in these last days after the passing of God’s messenger, Brother Felix Manalo.
What did God entrust the Church Administration and what is their God-given task? Colossians 1:25 Holman Christian Standard Bible. Thus we can read in these verses:
25 I have become its servant, according to God’s administration that was given to me for you, to make God’s message fully known,

Brother Juan Fisher: God entrusted His words to the Church Administration and the task, as Apostle Paul said,
“to make God’s message fully known.”
Brother Juan Fisher: Hence, the true understanding regarding God’s words for salvation are continuously being made known to the members of the Church Of Christ through its Administration. And this is why, although Church Of Christ members are not forbidden to read the Bible, they do not give their own interpretation or meaning to it.
They make it a point to consult the Church Administration through the ministers and ministerial workers in the Church about the words of the Lord God, for they are the ones who were entrusted with the understanding of the words of God and the authority to preach it.
The Church Administration with the help of the ministers and ministerial workers of the Church Of Christ also do their best to help people who are not yet members of the Church to have the true understanding of God’s words in order for them to be saved. Because of their tireless preaching of the truth, many have joined the Church Of Christ.
Many of those who joined the Church were former pastors of various religions who even brought their own Bibles as they studied the words of God taught in the Church Of Christ. They were able to understand the truth that changed their lives forever. They embarked on a life-changing journey as they joined the Church Of Christ.

Diuenel Joseph: (in English) What I am going to say may be unbelievable but it is true, but since I met the Church Of Christ, I find something different from all other churches. They finally begin to see that there is a truth that they did not know.

(in English) It has been a year since Iglesia De Cristo arrived in Haiti as many more come to know the truth.
Diuenel Joseph, a former pastor, is now a member and hopes to continue sharing the truth with his beloved countrymen.

Diuenel Joseph: (in English) Life is very difficult. Really, really extremely difficult.
Brother Johnny De Guzman: (in English)It is considered in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere… lacks basic things such as running water and 24/7 electricity. Most people, they live on a $1.50 a day and they only eat one meal a day. Most of their jobs have to do with farming. Yes, it’s very rough to live there.
News Anchor: The outrage was immediate. Fires were set, roads blocked. Protesters say they can’t afford Haiti’s new fuel prices.
Newscaster: In the midst of violence. Violent protests over rising gasoline prices. Fire and smoke billowing throughout the city.
Diuenel Joseph: (in English) We have a problem uniting ourselves together. But [the] Haitian people also is a religious people. They love to hear about God. But in Haiti also, we have different churches, different names, different beliefs.
Brother Johnny De Guzman: Beloved brethren. The appointed time of our worship service has come.
Dieunel Joseph: But [the] Church Of Christ has brought something to Haiti. I like what it is, it’s talking about unity. Unity. A true Church.

Brother Johnny De Guzman: (in English) Even in a different—even the co-minister’s like, you know, “He was just supposed to translate, he’s like, ‘Oh, wow. I like your teaching. I would like to learn more.” One of the first people I met in Petit Goave was Brother Dieunel Joseph. He is currently now a member of the Church Of Christ and a former pastor of L’Eglise Canaan di Haiti.
Brother Johnny De Guzman: But why did they do that? Because that was what the administration, the church leaders appointed at the time.
Dieunel: I believed I was convinced I led him to my congregation here at Petit Goave, and he taught many lessons that people believe.
Brother Johnny De Guzman: So how are you?
Dieunel: I’m fine.
Brother Johnny De Guzman: Okay.
Brother Johnny De Guzman: (in English) To get to the brethren or get to the people who want to listen to the words of God, you have to go up a mountain. But if you walk up all the time, it will take about 3 hours to get to the place of Bible study. One of the other difficulties there is that the Bible study cannot be done at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. It has to be done early in the morning or in the afternoon because there is no electricity.
Brother Johnny De Guzman: (in English) So if it was paved, no problem, right? You can get here in less than 30 minutes if the road is paved.
Deacon: (in English) Maybe we can donate cement?
Brother Johnny De Guzman: (in English) No, because if you work, it has to be done properly because if you just put cement, when it rains, the dirt will… Though we would face struggles or I would face struggles, being assigned in Haiti, we can see that our Lord God is helping to call people into the fold. Even though there are problems, it can be a way that God has called people or is calling people to be part of the one true flock.
Gospel Minister: And you see the condition of the life that they have.

Minister of the Gospel: (in English) …that they can join us in worshiping and serving Your name.
Brother Johnny: (in English) They accepted all the doctrines, but their question was why do they have to be baptized again?
Dieunel: (in English) And this teaching is very new. They say things like, “That, teaching—what? Where—a good teaching, they would hear it already, but because they didn’t hear this teaching in any church in Haiti, they say it is a foreign teaching. Many of my colleagues in Haiti, they don’t see that as a good thing for me to receive what they call “another baptism.” They begin to receive a kind of persecution. Not a congregation. They did not accept my beliefs because, because I did not want to give a name to the church. I said, “I pray to God someday He will cause to send someone to give the name to the church.” I don’t know the name of the church. So we have—we had different beliefs.
That’s the reason why I feel proud when I met him. He has to give the right name.
Brother Johnny: Because for them, the Bible says that there is only one baptism, but they were able to overcome it when they saw that there was only one true Church, the Church Of Christ.
Dieunel: One of the brothers of the Church Of Christ uses our Bible in Haiti, our Creole Bible. So the people say, “See, it is not another Bible. It is the same Bible we year we have in our churches in Haiti.””
Brother Johnny: And that baptism, the only true baptism that’s in the Bible, is baptism within the Church of Christ, to which we belong to.
Dieunel: I’ve been waiting for that for 22 years. Amazing.
Dieunel: Now, everyone in that congregation is eager to become a member of the Church of Christ. They will do the same thing I did: receive baptism into the true Church.
Minister: …become true disciples…
Dieunel: That’s the reason why when I saw today, more than about 30 people received the baptism and people were here to attend this great event they see how these things are important.
Brother Rene Manansala: This is a momentous event here in our district, because for the first time we have a congregation here in Haiti. These are the first people, first group who are now baptized and will comprise the congregation here in Petit Goave.
Brother Jonathan Jamias: More people are being called by God in the Church in different countries and this is God’s manifestation and proof that God is with the Church.
Dieunel: And I hope that it’s not going to take a long time to see any Chapels of Church of Christ building in different parts of Haiti, particularly where I am in, Petit Goave.
