Today, Megan and her partner in crime Patrick form a party to go back to one of the first dungeons they ever met. Before the current era of Isekai, before Konosuba and Re:ZERO and the dozens of other seasonal anime, there was Grimgar. Now the two who met there all those years ago go back into the depths of the dungeon to properly, completely cover the English Dub of Grimgar - Ashes and Illusions. The Dub Talk podcast takes a breaks from the simulcasts and digital animation for a dive way back in time, all the way to the beginning of anime English dubbing. Yes in this pilot episode of a new subseries, hosts Noah, Amon, Lac & Hardy take a look at the 1958 animated feature: Hakujaden (better known in English speaking markets as Panda & the Magic Serpent). Before Astro Boy or Speed Racer, this was one of the very first English dubs for Japanese animation ever made, and we're eager to find out how well this folktale has aged.
