Derry City's 2024 League campaign has been a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, marked by moments of brilliance and periods of inconsistency. As the season draws to a close, the Candystripes face Shelbourne at the Brandywell in a final showdown that decide the League Champions. The campaign began with a flurry of excitement, with new signings and a renewed sense of optimism. The early stages saw Derry City climb the table, with some attacking flair and defensive solidity earning them plaudits from fans and pundits alike. However, as the season progressed, the Candystripes encountered a dip in form, losing crucial points against many of the teams in the league. The final game of the season against Shelbourne is a mouth-watering prospect. Both teams have had their ups and downs, and a place in Europe is on the line plus a a chance for Shelbourne to clinch the League. Regardless of the outcome of the final game, Derry City's 2024 campaign will be remembered as one of ups and downs.
