3 style fixes to help you wear more of what you own13 Oct 202600:15:57

When your outfits aren’t coming together in a way you like, it’s easy to assume that the answer is more outfit inspo, finding that one perfect basic or discovering a brand you never heard of.

But before you look outside of your closet, I want you to look at what’s going on with your outfits first. Wearing more of what you already own starts with understanding a few styling principles that make an outfit work.

In this episode, I’m talking about the 3 style fixes that help your outfits feel intentional, look polished and come together easily.

First, I’m looking at proportion. A closet can be full of perfectly fitting pieces that still don’t quite work together. I’m getting into why shopping for fit instead of size matters, how proportion affects the way an outfit looks and how small adjustments to layering and top lengths can keep you from feeling buried in fabric.

Next, I’m diving into structure. If you want an outfit to feel more pulled together without looking formal, structure can make all the difference. That might mean reaching for a blazer or tailored trousers, but it can also be as simple as adding cargo pants to balance out a flowy top. You’ll learn what to look for in your own closet when an outfit feels more disheveled than effortless.

Finally, I’m getting into colour and why some colours are easier to mix and match than others. Before bringing more bright or statement colours into your wardrobe, you need the right bridge colours to help everything work together. This is often the missing piece when you’re trying to recreate an outfit you saved for inspiration. Once you understand how colours work together, getting dressed in colour becomes a whole lot easier.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • how proportion changes the way an outfit looks, especially when layering or wearing wide leg pants
  • the simple layering fix to keep your outfit from feeling bulky
  • how to choose top lengths that work with different pant silhouettes
  • what it means to add structure to make an outfit look polished without looking formal
  • the two types of structured pieces from formal to casual
  • which flowy pieces in your closet can benefit from being paired with structure
  • which colours make putting an outfit together easier
  • how to combine different colours for an outfit to feel cohesive but still interesting

Finding your personal style after motherhood and working from home06 Oct 202600:16:56

Your wardrobe can feel completely outdated but buying a whole new one isn't always the solution.

For today's guest, becoming a mom and working from home made her realize that the way she was dressing no longer felt like her. She hadn't figured out what her style was and how to bridge the gap between her closet and her current life and scrolling for more style inspiration wasn't helping.

Her social media feed and ads were mostly showing her what she already owned.

In this episode, we talk about what happens when you stop looking outward for the answer to your personal style and start developing a closet with your own point of view, for the life that you lead daily.

The conversation shows you the 1:1 process I use to identify lifestyle gaps, build outfit formulas, and make shopping more intentional without a full overhaul.

Key topics

  • how your wardrobe can stop matching your day-to-day life even when there's technically nothing wrong with the clothes
  • the underlying reason why your wardrobe feels dated even though you're investing in it
  • what the difference is between knowing what you like and knowing what feels like you
  • the wardrobe gap between office clothes and athleisure, and how addressing it makes getting dressed easier
  • what changes after you develop more discernment around the clothes you invest in
  • the outfit hack that gives you pulled-together looks every morning, especially on rushed days or when you want more confidence
  • how thinking about fit, texture and quality create longevity even with trendy pieces

The microcapsule method that makes getting dressed easier01 Oct 202600:16:17

When your outfits feel off, trying to overhaul your closet is usually not the right first move.

While a big cull, getting organized and starting with a clean slate feels productive, it's like taking the scenic route when you're already running late. It's nice, but it's not the most direct way to get you where you want to be: having a closet with the right options when you're getting dressed.

After many attempted overhauls with clients and trying to solve everything at once, time and time again we made the most progress when we focused on one specific use case at a time.

In this episode, I'm diving right into fixing the biggest problem you're encountering with a microcapsule and how it helps you dress for a real use case—such as postpartum life, work trips, or hosting—and lead to outfits that are easy to wear

The tea:

  • start with how you live, not with a major wardrobe reset.
  • sloset overhauls can feel overwhelming when time, budget, and decision-making energy are limited
  • “more put together” is hard to act on until you identify exactly where and when that matters
  • pinpointing a specific scenario—like events, travel, or date nights—can reveal what your wardrobe needs.
  • capsule wardrobes need to be more specific before they work for you
  • personal style is about more than a cohesive closet; it brings different functions and points of view together
  • microcapsules are small groups of pieces built for one clear use case that can still work with the rest of your wardrobe
  • purposeful additions can refresh existing outfits without requiring a complete closet overhaul
  • you don’t need to replace everything to feel better in your clothes

The 4-step style fix for your biggest nothing-to-wear problem22 Sep 202600:15:03

In this episode, I'm sharing a practical framework for fixing one specific style problem at a time, instead of trying to overhaul your whole closet at once.

I break style work into 4 easy to act on steps: choose one context, define the details, gather inspiration, and turn that inspiration into a focused shopping plan.

Bits you'll want to take notes on:

  • why defining your personal style is not always the best first step when working on your style
  • how I pinpointed the gaps in my closet
  • turning nothing-to-wear into a specific context you can focus on
  • which details shape your outfits: indoor or outdoor, season, time of day, venue, and overall vibe
  • finding inspo on Pinterest by vibe, location, time of day, or a piece you already own
  • how to turn inspiration into a list you can use to shop your closet or hit the mall

What stylish people do differently: habits that build personal style14 Sep 202600:12:52

Good style is less about being born with taste and more about repeated decisions.

In this episode, I'm giving you a peek into the habits of women who seem to have effortless style - what they're doing differently, what they ignore and what they do on repeat.

The stylish people you notice have made these habits their absolute bitch:

  • curiosity and genuine interest that drives them to engage with fashion
  • awareness around trends without pressure to follow all of them
  • they don't justify what they're wearing to others
  • "trying too hard" is something they're ok with
  • repeating their outfits
  • leaning on reliable hero pieces
  • dressing for the life they are already living
  • shopping for fit, not size
  • sticking to familiar shapes that work for them
  • mixing high and low price tags

Why your outfit feels cool in one context but off in another10 Sep 202600:14:48

Feeling cool in your clothes is less about chasing a perfect style aesthetic and more about dressing for the specific context you’re in.

This episode explains why you feel right in your outfits for everyday life but less so for evenings out, client meetings, travel, and other outlier moments.

If you’ve ever felt confident in one setting and strangely off in another, this episode will help you see that as a wardrobe gap so you can stop comparing and address what's happening.

The juicy stuff:

  • why “cool” is often just the right outfit for the right context
  • the reason behind why most closets collapse into one dominant vibe
  • the 80/20 problem: most outfits work for everyday life, but the 20% of outlier moments create the most stress
  • why impulse buys and panic outfits usually fail, even when the closet looks full
  • how intentional outlier capsules can solve the “I have nothing to wear” feeling for dinners, birthdays, travel, and happy hours
  • how to identify the different style contexts in your week
  • why some clothes feel “too stiff” for home life but perfect for a meeting or event
  • the idea that fashion can be fun and slightly riskier in contexts where function matters less

How to build a great wardrobe with everyday brands04 Sep 202600:21:07

If you've been telling yourself that your style would be better if you had different places to shop, buckle up because this episode is about to flip that belief upside down

I'm breaking down why style has less to do with chasing niche labels and more to do with styling and knowing what works for your real life.

I'm also sharing my practical shopping process for lowering decision fatigue, plus how luxury can teach you to spot quality without making it the default answer.

Everything I'm getting into:

  • why you think you need brands no one's heard of and when the right time to invest in them is
  • the misconception around sameness when it comes to getting dressed
  • what makes the mall the best place to shop when you're figuring out your style
  • the steps that make shopping in-store successful
  • how to spot quality at multiple price points
  • how to lower your cognitive load around shopping
  • store examples by lifestyle

Why your closet might be keeping you out of your own life31 Aug 202600:14:23

When your closet matches the life you want to live, you stop fussing and you start becoming present.

Before clothing was a tool to live life more intentionally, it used to be a source of distraction that made me feel like I wasn't participating in the life I worked so hard to create for myself.

What I'm getting into in this episode

  • using style as a catalyst to live more intentionally day to day
  • dressing for the life you want inside the life you have
  • the question to ask before shopping for fall

How to break the constant shopping but nothing to wear cycle24 Aug 202600:15:55

This episode breaks down why your closet can be full but you still have nothing to wear and how to stop shopping for random pieces that never solve the problem.

I'm sharing a practical method for figuring out what you actually need so your shopping starts to fill real gaps for specific real-life scenarios.

You'll resonate with this episode if you've recently experienced a change in your lifestyle or if you're simply looking for guidance on changing your shopping habits.

Everything I'm unpacking:

  • how shifts like moving, having a baby or career changes make shopping habits stop working
  • why buying the same safe items over and over creates a closet full of duplicates instead of solving wardrobe gaps
  • the common mistake of swinging too far our of your comfort zone with bold personality pieces
  • how to find the exact contexts where your wardrobe fails you
  • how to turn an inspo board into a list you can shop for
  • the details that make a new item instantly pair with what you own

The 5 steps that got my wardrobe unstuck 13 Aug 202600:27:28

  • you're not finding what fits you
  • you have nothing to wear

  • you're not wearing what's already in your closet
  • getting dressed feels like too much work

I've experienced every one of these and in this episode I'm taking you through exactly what I did to move through it.

The 3 check marks every piece needs before it earns a place in your closet 18 Jun 202600:19:54

Do I feel more of less myself in this?

Why am I proud to own this?

How wearable is it for my current day-to-day?

Inside this episode, I’m breaking down why “can I wear this 5 different ways” isn’t the best indicator of a good investment and how to actually determine if you’ll wear that piece over and over before you even cut the tag off.
