| "Dream Of Three Not To Be" | 17 Oct 2026 | 00:25:06 | |
The Dodgers 2026 baseball season ended last night. With a 6-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, the Dodgers were swept in the NLCS, and eliminated. The season, the three-peat bid, some even say the dynasty... and this podcast, at least as we know it... are all over. Richard looks back on the season and the NLCS. Then, he looks to the future -- for the Dodgers, baseball, and this show. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| DBD DAILY: Don't Let Us Win Tonight | 15 Oct 2026 | 00:05:50 | |
Dodgers down 0-3 to the Brewers in the 2026 NLCS. Game 4 is tonight at Dodger Stadium. Don't let us win tonight! Then they get Skubie. And then they get Yama. And Game 7? Anything happens. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| DBD DAILY: Dodgers Down 0-3 in NLCS, Facing Brewers Sweep | 15 Oct 2026 | 00:23:33 | |
The Dodgers lost to the Brewers 6-2 in Game 3 of the NLCS tonight at Dodger Stadium. The Brewers are one win away from sweeping the Dodgers, and going to their first World Series since 1982. Only one team in the history of baseball has come back to win after facing a 0-3 deficit in a best of seven series. The Dodgers will attempt to avoid the sweep tomorrow, Thursday, at 5 p.m., very specifically, Pacific Time, at Dodger Stadium. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| DBD DAILY: RP3's 3 Things To Watch In NLCS Game 3 | 14 Oct 2026 | 00:19:57 | |
Game 3 of the NLCS is today in L.A. 5 p.m., very specifically, Pacific Time. Blake Snell on the bump. The Dodgers trail the Brewers 2-0 in this 7-game series. And that is concerning. How concerning? Well, in the history of baseball, a team has gotten out to a 2-0 in a best-of-7 series 95 times. Of those 95 times, 79 times the leading team went on to win the series. I.e., 83.2 percent of the time. So being down 0-2 is close to a death sentence. Richard Parks III (a.k.a. RP3) looks at the history of Dodgers (and other baseball teams) who have been able to come back from a 2-0 deficit in a 7-game series. Because that’s exactly what the Dodgers are going to have to do here in Game3, in order to advance past the NLCS to the World Series, and win a third-straight championship, a.k.a. 3peat. Then, RP3 picks out 3 things to watch in this all-important NLCS Game 3. Thing #1: The Shohei Factor. RP3 summarizes and updates the unfolding conversation about a significant slump the Dodgers two-way star has been mired in, which lead to a talk with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. Since our last episode. Thing #2: Believe! RP3 muses on previous low-points from throughout Dodgers post-season history, and rallies for the type of “belief” espoused by legendary Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda, who once said, “All you gotta do is believe.” Thing #3: Snellzilla. He’s the “little girl with the curl” as Vin Scully used to say. Snell had a sparkling October in 2025. But in his sole start in the 2026 post-season, Game 2 of the NLDS, Snell couldn’t get through 4 innings, and he walked 5. His reputation as a Dodger and as a post-season performer is on the line today. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| DBD DAILY: Shohei Struggles + NLCS Game 2 Re-Cap | 13 Oct 2026 | 00:18:51 | |
We awoke this morning to find the entire baseball world speculating on whether a struggling, injured Shohei Ohtani should be benched for Game 3 of the NLCS against the Brewers. Richard contextualizes that conversation, and weighs in. (Kinda.) Then, Richard re-caps the Dodgers' 7-4 loss in Game 2. (Expanding on the live-taped reactions to Game 2 from our previous, impressionistic DBD Daily, released last night.) See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| DBD DAILY: Dodgers Drop Game 2 to Brew Crew | 13 Oct 2026 | 00:12:05 | |
Sit with Richard for the last two innings of the Dodgers 7-4 loss at the hands of the Brewers tonight in Game 2 of the NLCS. An audio diary of sorts, with live-recorded analysis, with evocative underscore by William Ryan Fritch. The Dodgers are in the hole 0-2 as the best-of-seven series heads to L.A. for Game 3 on Wednesday. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| DBD DAILY: Dodgers Bats "Miz" Opportunities in Game 1, Milwaukee Takes CS Lead | 12 Oct 2026 | 00:17:24 | |
It was a tough loss for the Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLCS tonight (Sunday) in Milwaukee. Tarik Skubal and the Boys in Blue fell to Jacob Misiorowski and the Brewers, 2-1. But it wasn't quite the pitchers' duel you'd expect. Richard re-caps everything you need to know in 15ish minutes. Get ready for a series! Best of 7. Game 2 is tomorrow! | REBROADCAST: "Mookie Is Spookied" | 11 Oct 2026 | 00:17:52
On the Eve of Game 1 of the NLCS in Milwaukee, we bring you this episode from our archives, about the Pfister Hotel, where the Dodgers stay when they're in town to play the Brewers -- well, most of the Dodgers. Mookie Betts, for one, decides to stay elsewhere. Because they say that the Pfister Hotel is... haunted! This episode was first aired in 2024, when Mookie was just rejoining the team after a couple months on the injured list. As a reminder, 2024 was also the season Mookie was making the transition from right field, to short stop. Getting ready for tomorrow's Game 1 (in 2026) Max Muncy was asked about the hotel and its ghosts. His response kept it loose. Which seems like a good sign, as the Boys in Blue kick off this all-important series. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| “Brewers vs. Dodgers = Ali vs. Frazier” (2026 NLCS Preview) | 09 Oct 2026 | 00:28:20 | |
This year’s 2026 NLCS is a re-match of last year’s: Brewers vs. Dodgers. Last year, the Dodgers swept. But this year, it’s a different story. And it's being talked about as the “Ali-Frazier” matchup of October baseball this year. First, Richard looks back on how the Dodgers were able to sweep the Brewers last year. Then, Richard looks at the differences between the 2026 version of these teams and last year's, including discussion of: the pitching situation(s), the Shohei Ohtani factor, the Jacob Misiorowski factor, the bullpens, Tarik Skubal, how each team won their division series, key Dodger injuries, scoring via the homerun vs. via other methods, hitting with runners on, Jackson Chourio, the X factor of playing confidence, playing with a chip on your shoulder, Brewers manager Pat Murphy's "average Joe" narrative, William Contreras' lengthy homerun trots, and more! This should be everything you need to know to appreciate this highly anticipated series, which kicks off Sunday, in Milwaukee. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| "Dodgers Onto Championship Series!" | 08 Oct 2026 | 00:17:33 | |
With their 4-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday, the Dodgers have won the National League Division Series! They're onto the National League Championship Series next, starting Sunday. | “One Win Away From the CS” | 07 Oct 2026 | 00:32:15
Richard recaps the Dodgers 3-1 win over the Braves in Game 3 of the NLDS on Tuesday. The Boys in Blue need just one more win to eliminate the Braves and advance to the NLCS. They will have two chances to get that last win -- starting tomorrow, Wednesday, October 7, with Game 4, in Atlanta. If needed, Game 5 will be back in L.A. on Friday. | "Dodgers Drop NLDS Game 2 to Braves" | 06 Oct 2026 | 00:34:45
Richard attended the Dodgers-Braves NLDS Game 2 in the sweltering L.A. heat on Sunday, only to see the Boys in Blue fall to the Atlanta team, 3-2. Snell faltered, Muncy rallied, but ultimately, it was a game of both good and bad -- but, probably mostly bad, because it was a loss. Richard recaps highlights and low-lights, and dives deep on a terrific Max Muncy at bat in the 9th, that can tell you a lot about this game, and this series. Then, Richard looks forward, as the 1-1 series heads to Atlanta, with two aces on the mound for Game 3. Hooooooo doogie! October is here! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| “Triple-Digit Game 1 Win in Dodgers DS!” | 04 Oct 2026 | 00:43:32 | |
Recording live in his living room, Richard recaps Game 1 of the Dodgers vs. Braves NLDS, just after it ends in a 5-3 victory for the Boys in Blue in the 100-degree Los Angeles heat. He does so while keeping half-to-one-third of an eye on Yankees-Rays ALDS Game 1 (which at the time of this recording, was in a no-hitter in the 8th inning) and a little bit of the Brewers-Padres NLDS Game 1, too. Hey even mentions the White Sox-Guardians ALDS Game 1! So that's everything you need to know about the Dodgers to get you ready for Game 2 of the DS tomorrow in L.A., PLUS everything you need to know about the rest of the post-season, as of Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at 6:57 p.m. very specifically Pacific Time. “Triple-Digit Game 1 Win in Dodgers DS!” WOW. Then, Richard catches you up on what’s been going on with the Boys in Blue since the last ep: the end of the team-wide slump, Josue DePaula's AAA callup experience, Shohei's return from injury, and more. Then: he takes a look at the (very very good) 2026 post-season pitching rotation, and compares it to others over the past 5 years. | "Braves Sweep. Sky's Falling" | 28 Aug 2026 | 00:28:48
We’re getting down to the wire, folks. As the Dodgers suffer their third straight loss to the Atlanta Braves, who thereby completed a sweep against the Boys in Blue Thursday night, Richard breaks down the MLB playoff format, how it might impact the Dodgers, and digs in deep about this series against the Braves – and the concerns it raises for the Dodgers 2026 post-season run. This is an unusually "cup half empty" episode, for DBD, but hey, we just got swept by the Braves! The sky's falling! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| "Let's Talk Kyle Tucker Turkey" | 21 Aug 2026 | 00:33:38 | |
Kyle Tucker signed a record-high contract with the Dodgers this past off-season, worth $60M a season. Tucker came to the Dodgers with Hall of Fame-caliber numbers. But so far in 2026, he’s been mired in a season-long slump. Things reach a low point this week, in a game where Tucker went 0-5 and dropped an easy fly ball in the outfield. Richard looks back on Tucker’s signing, the expectations, and the way the season has played out so far for "King Tuck" in Los Angeles. Let's Talk Kyle Tucker Turkey! | "RIP Tommy John" | 18 Aug 2026 | 00:32:13
Is it the low point of the 2026 season? Richard checks in from a disappointing loss against the Brewers at Dodger Stadium this weekend, where it felt like it is. Tommy John, the long-time Dodger, and namesake of the revolutionary, career-saving elbow surgery, has died at the age of 83. Maybe you know the name Tommy John, but you don't know much about him. In this episode, we take a look at John's long, excellent career, and the then-experimental surgery, performed on John in 1974 by Dr. Frank Jobe, that now carries name. | "The Dog Days of August" | 07 Aug 2026 | 00:33:00
It’s the “dog days” indeed, and the Dodgers have hit the skids, riding a 6-game losing streak into the desert heat, in Arizona, where tonight, they kick off a 3-game series against the Diamondbacks. But there are always silver linings. Richard takes stock of the whole enchilada: recapping Tarik Skubal’s first start as a Dodger, summarizing the injuries affecting the franchise, presenting (without comment) a little Pete Crow-Armstrong conspiracy theory, and much more. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| “Skubie Doo(dger)” | 04 Aug 2026 | 00:29:36 | |
Two-time American League Cy Young Award Winner Tarik Skubal is a Los Angeles Dodger! In this special “Extra, extra, pod all about it!” episode, Richard delivers everything you need to know about the most important development in the 2026 baseball season so far: the Dodgers acquisition of the most coveted arm in baseball, just before the MLB trade deadline passed on Monday, in exchange for three promising prospects from the Dodgers expansive farm system. Listen today, before Skubal's first start as a Dodger at Wrigley Field, at 5 p.m. Pacific, against the Cubs. The Skubal trade sent ripples throughout the baseball world, and stirred up something of a controversy about the perceived imbalance in MLB during this, the Dodgers era of dominance. But haters are gonna hate, and at the end of the day, if the Dodgers are the contemporary baseball world's super villains, so be it. Thumbs-up or thumbs-down on the nickname "Skubie Doo(dger)"? It's just a game, folks. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

| "Max Muncy's Moment" | 24 Jul 2026 | 00:27:55 | |
Max Muncy passed Ron Cey on the all-time Los Angeles Dodgers homerun leaderboards this week, and he now has the second-most homers in L.A. history (behind Eric Karros) and fifth-most in Dodgers (Brooklyn and L.A.) history. With his All Star Game selection this year, Max is having a moment. Richard looks back on the past almost-decade with Funky Muncy, now the longest-tenured Dodger (!) and a glue guy in a clubhouse on a dynastic run of World Series wins -- and delivers a story of grit, determination, and doing things the right way. Also, Richard breaks down the bizarre game-ending double play in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, that has everybody talking. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

| "Rushing To Grow Up" | 26 Jun 2026 | 00:37:41 | |
During the Dodgers 4-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday, Dodgers backup catcher, rookie Dalton Rushing, had what must have been one of the worst games of his life, including going 0-4, with three strikeouts, and having some significant miscommunications with his battery-mate, starting pitcher (and global superstar) Shohei Ohtani, who is vying to win a Cy Young Award this year. The game has become the talk of the baseball world. Richard breaks it down for you. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
| “Karma’s Double Rainbow” | 12 Jun 2026 | 00:31:21 | |
With a monsoon rolling through the ballpark in Pittsburgh, a group of rowdy Pirate fans in the right field stands removed their shirts, and taunted Shohei Ohtani, as he stepped into the batters box for his fourth at-bat of the day. And then, the baseball gods intervened on behalf of the Dodgers, who went on to score 10 runs in their biggest single inning of offense in almost a decade. Then, as the rain cleared, a double rainbow filled the sky, framing the bright yellow Roberto Clemente Bridge and the downtown skyline. Also: Freddie Freeman's 2,500th hit! He calls opposing players names... He slides hard into second base... which is disallowed in today's game. He gets drilled in the ribs by fastballs... and when he does, he hardly blinks. Is Dalton Rushing the most hated man in baseball? Dalton Rushing, the Dodgers backup catcher, is off to a historically great start to the 2026 season, offensively speaking. At the same time, he's attracting even more attention than that merits, going "viral" on baseball social media viral for some allegedly untoward comments and epithets hurled at opposing players. Richard dives in, breaks it down, gets into the backstory, and all that good stuff. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Dodgers beat the Yankees in a decisive game 5 on Wednesday night in the Bronx, taking the series 4-1. The following day, Richard goes out to breakfast with his friend, chef Wes Avila, to celebrate. And the day after that, Richard attends the first World Series victory parade in the streets of Los Angeles since 1988, on what would have been Dodger legend Fernando Valenzuela's 64th birthday. On this episode, we invite you to bask in the afterglow of an amazing game 5 (and particularly that epic, momentum-shifting top of the 5th) and an unforgettable World Series victory for the Dodgers, with Richard and Wes. What a season. What an ending. Thanks for listening. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
