After a really fun weekend in Alpena, Michigan diving the shipwrecks of the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary, Rich spends some time talking about how new boat captains need to be broken in a bit when it comes to people who view diving as a goal rather than people (like us) who view diving as a lifestyle and a recreation.

Rich talks about the month of teaching the weekend instructor development course and the convenience of not having to schedule two weeks of vacation to finish it. The course was earlier in the year than normal to work around the last of the covid casculaties. The Truk Lagoon trip was set up in 2015 and took its first deposit in 2017.... originally scheduled for 2020 it was cancelled twice and now we are able to go.

Rich switches gear with a return to a non-video podcast. He goes back the thing he knows best with an audio podcast. In this podcast, Rich talks about the past couple of weeks teaching the PADI Tec60CCR course at Lake Wazee and he also talks about watching people struggle with getting back into scuba diving after taking some time off. Rich chats about the changes to this podcast as well. He wants to make the podcast more regular doing his best to return to a once a week format. Video has its place and there will be videos that will be shared but in the struggle to get a regular podcast started back up video just takes too much time at this point.

In this episode, Rich talks about the diving he did in Milwaukee, Wisconsin aboard the Molly V.  Shipwrecks featured include the Prince Wilhelm aka "Willie" and the Milwaukee Car Ferry.  Rich also takes us on a dive in the wrecks of Munising, Michigan aboard the Wreck Express.  Shipwrecks featured include the Bermuda and the Smith Moore. Rich also tells a story about an anchor recovery he did aboard the Kayak Tours Kayak boat and the excitement of doing something new. 

Rich talks about the Titan disaster at Titanic then moves on to talk about a trip to Key West, including the Hemmingway house and Pride Week. He also talks about a couple of dives that needed to be rescheduled and just the basics of going with the flow and being flexible in a changing world.

Also he shares pictures of his past two technical dive courses from the month of May and some spectacular visibility that can be found in the cooler months of diving. Season 10 Episode 13 At the start of this week, many Governors across our nation issued a stay at home order for their residents essentially grinding businesses to a halt over the Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak. Rich talks about his business and how it is affected and his thoughts on what will happen next in scuba when people won't go scuba diving.

Season 10 Episode 12 Rich talks about training that is going on in the chilly spring time. He also talks about some of the uncertainty surrounding the epidemic and tries to keep positive in a rapidly changing world.

Season 10 Episode 11 Rich talks about the past week with the news becoming more severe about the COVID-19 epidemic that we need to be aware of. He chats about some classes that were going well at the beginning of this situation and moves on to chat about the realities of the effect travel bans and such have on a small business like his.

He also discusses the apparent disconnect among divers who have a interest in become Tec Certified and the realities of what that type of diving means. The comment was "that's just 'Baby Tec' I want to dive deeper than that" and the reemergence of the concept that technical diving is ONLY deep diving.

Rich talks about how this trip and his friend's visit reinforced the idea that visitors are tourists and you should not take for granted that your normal surrounding are not totally awesome to someone who is visiting. Especially if they are here for the first time.

Season 10 Episode 8 Rich talks about some the posts he has been reading on Facebook regarding people who are known "rule breakers" publicly slamming people for doing something they disagree with. Scuba is rife with disagreements but taking a side of something you know nothing about gets Rich a little riled when he knows people choose which rules to break and which ones to get outraged about.

Season 10 Episode 7 Rich talks about the weekend with his kids and his continuing process of sorting through six years of scuba stuff at his Monroe Store now that it is closing. Rich also talks about his Technical Diving workshop that he did at Divers Incorporated.
