Danny Dyer and Ryan Sampson, slow-roast shoulder of lamb and an old-fashioned
Season 5 Β· Episode 20
Wednesday, July 17, 2024 β’ Duration 37:50
Danny Dyer was discovered by a scout while at school in East London and landed his first acting role in Prime Suspect 3 in 1994. He gained a reputation for playing the tough guy and films like Human Traffic (1999) and The Football Factory (2004) put him on the road to stardom. Danny is most famous for his portrayal of Mick Carter in EastEnders from 2013 to 2022.
Ryan Sampson was born in Rotherham and studied acting at Drama Centre London. He began his career on stage in various theatrical productions. His big break came in 2013, when he played Grumio in the historical sitcom Plebs on ITV2. Ryan also appeared in Brassic with Β Michelle Keegan in 2019. Ryan wrote and stars in the new comedy series Mr Bigstuff with Danny Dyer.
As a sign of whatβs to come, Danny and Ryan request a glass of something strong before they sit down at the Dish table. Nick obliges and pours some Edmundo Malbec, an Argentinian red, recommended by the experts at Waitrose. He then gets to work on their favourite cocktail, an old fashioned. Meanwhile, Angela is busy in the kitchen slow-roasting a shoulder of lamb with anchovies, oregano and garlic with roast potatoes.Β
Danny and Ryan are an unlikely pair but their chemistry is undeniable, making this Dish double-date unmissable. Our foursome talks vinaigrettes, pesto and couscous before tackling the important topic of modern masculinity, inspired by their new show, out now on Sky.
Danny Dyer is well-known for his βcolourfulβ language; please be aware that there is swearing throughout this weekβs episode.

Joel Dommett, smoky fish tacos and a peach paloma
Season 5 Β· Episode 11
Wednesday, May 15, 2024 β’ Duration 38:00
Comedian and broadcaster Joel Dommett grew up on a farm in Gloucestershire but, with no interest in getting his hands dirty, he set off for the bright lights of London. He is blessed with funny bones and, after some challenging years on MTV News, he set his sights on stand-up comedy. A stint in the Jungle in 2016 secured his big break and he returned the following year as the host of I'm a Celebrity... Extra Camp. These days Joel Dommett is prime time, presenting The Masked Singer and the National Television Awards. He is married to Hannah and, as well as hosting a podcast together, they are parents to baby Wilde. Joel is here to talk about the new series of his ITV game show In with a Shout.
Joel arrives early for dinner, so Nick gets busy mixing one of his favourite cocktails, a peach paloma and the pair tuck into some pea guacamole and chips, a recipe from Honey & Co. Joel loves Mexican food, so Angela prepares some tasty smoky fish tacos. The experts at Waitrose pair the meal with a No.1 Astrolabe Awatere Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.
Joel is very excited to be seated at the Dish table and kicks off conversation with some hilarious tales of his experience in the labour ward. He talks about the time he had to film some awkward scenes with Sienna Miller and shares the questionable topping he used to put on his pizza.
