If you've been around you know the podcast birthday lines up with my birthday and my mom comes on to celebrate the year. The episodes with my mom are always some of my favorites, and this is no different.

Mom, I know you always listen and read these: Thank you for everything. It could be the only thing I say for the rest of my life and it still wouldn't be enough. I love you.

And I love you too, listener. Thanks for hangin out.

Mike Dupont - Snake in a Bag 18 Sep 202501:09:24

Comedian Mike Dupont comes by and asks Danny to make Spaghetti and Meatballs.

Mike starts by filling us in on the Market Basket controversy that's sweeping the greater Boston area and how corporate isn't prepared for townies to take back what they love most; a family run grocery store.

After, Mike gets open with his recovery process, the feeling of opiates withdrawal, and what his favorite activity to do was while he was still using. Honestly, it's just kind of what dudes do normally.

(Don't do dr*gs, kids. They make you think NBA journeyman Austin Rivers is capable of winning an MVP)

Alex Giampapa - Nightcap at Your Place 25 Feb 202501:20:14

Comedian Alex Giampapa comes by and asks Danny for a meat patty. Alex is on an elimination diet, he did not grow up eating like a junkyard dog.

Alex and Danny jump in talking about a few venues that have fallen to the wayside, one of which being where Alex shot his first special (that may or may not have involved mind altering substances) Alex continues to examine some changes he's experienced in his career and how sometimes good advice can become obsolete that you have to unlearn, but the wisdom will always be priceless.

Alex also talks about how despite a bleak political landscape we got to experience a Superbowl Halftime show for the ages and how he got in a fight with KFC from Barstool.

Mustafe Mussa - Somali Pride 27 Mar 202300:57:39

Comedian (and brother to a past guest) Mustafe Mussa comes by and asks Danny to make Beef Suqqar and Lahoh. It goes surprisingly well.

As Mustafe eats the love for his country flows strong as he tells us about how Somalia is just for the Somalis. Mustafe also creates a country for a marginalized group, gives a couple thoughts on Kanye West's new savior Jonah Hill, and brings up the one time Kyrie Irving was right about something. It's actually a pretty good point.

Adrian Diaz - Answering the Bell 20 Mar 202300:41:42

For our first repeat guest, Adrian Diaz comes by to talk with Danny about how his recent fight went at Redline Sports. Adrian talks about what the mindset is like going into a fight, how to cope with nerves, and a gut check moment that made Adrian realize he was born for this.

The two also do a quick taste comparison of Jayson Tatum's Flamin Hot BBQ Ruffles versus Lebron James' Flamin Hot Cheddar and Sour Cream Ruffles. The results will SHOCK you.

During the contestant's date if you have a question for one (or both) of the contestants, hold up the yellow side and one Jaylene's crowd controllers will bring you a microphone to ask that question.

Jealous of someone on stage? See someone you like? Hold up the pink side and you can pitch yourself to switch out one of the contestants. Or pitch yourself to both contestants. It really doesn't matter. Anything goes.

Danny has been Jaylene's crowd controller since day one. The two go over this first year of shows, how Jaylene got the idea in the first place, and where she sees this going.

And of course, some tea is spilled.

Ayesheh Mae - A White Man's Failure 27 Feb 202300:48:10

Comedian, producer, and incredibly polite person Ayesheh Mae comes by and asks Danny to make Koobideh and Tah Deeg. Danny did not make either of those things. This is the worst meal flop to date on the podcast.

Ayesheh does nothing to make this hellish as along the way (of her taste buds being ruined) she tells us a little about Persian culture, the difference in New Year celebrations, and how the women in her family are great at timing exits. Ayesheh also talks about starting her company Filthy Comedy and her own experience with weight loss.

Danny tries his best to avoid a spiral about serving garbage. It doesn't go well.

Laura Severse Part 2 - Block Party 13 Feb 202301:12:49

After a surprisingly well timed audio hiccup, we're back with Laura Severse for part 2 of Tuna Noodle Casserole.

We pick up where we left off as Laura tells us about the value of the leftover, her "Hungarian" goulash experience, and how even with food there's a "protection of supply" mindset. Laura also talks about breaking that mindset as she continues dropping weight, what's helped her keep the weight off, and how she's trying to help her kids have a more positive relationship with their body, food, and movement.

We learn too about the Dorchester of Laura's youth, all the people that inhabited it, and how while that helped Laura accept everyone she realized she still had to widen her perspective.

This week for our charity of choice, Laura has asked to support Cradles to Crayons. Click the link here to donate.

Laura Severse Part 1 - Casserole Culture 10 Feb 202300:32:52

Comedian and Writer Laura Severse comes by and asks Danny to make Tuna Noodle Casserole.

In this first part Laura talks people's varying perception of her and how there's rarely a middle ground, but the ball really gets rolling on the history of Tuna Noodle Casserole in Laura's life: how this was a favorite in a rotation of tolerable meals, how she herself has updated it, and how Big Casserole was pushing their agenda in every magazine of the time.

The difference of jelly, jams, and preserves gets settled once and for all as well.

Part 2 released regular time next week. Happy Friday!

Some shop talk at the beginning, Andrew and Danny talk about how at points Comedy can feel like chasing a dragon, how frustrating it is to feel like you aren't progressing, and how sometimes the best way to recognize your progression is to go back to Day 1 and look at it zoomed out.

Andrew is getting married in the summer as well so we chat with the husband to be to ask him what are some things he think he'll be good at with the new relationship label as well as some things he might need to work on, but either way, he's ready and excited.

Midnight Snack - Knicks beat the Celtics and Danny is Riding High 28 Jan 202300:32:38

Danny has been waiting all day for the big basketball podcasts to discuss the overtime thriller between the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics. In a show of absolute cowardice, the popular media outlets have silenced what was a great win, and more importantly, what will be the spark for a 2023 New York Knicks championship run.

Also a very nice fan sent Hooker Boy Studios a pair of headphones when they heard on the Chris Post episode the guests did not have a pair for themselves. Danny meant to thank you in the episode but was too excited about the Knicks.

Dan Hall - STEVE24 Jan 202301:06:09

Kathe and Jesse Farris - The Non Binary Swede vs A Giraffe 18 Nov 202401:05:09

Comedians Kathe Farris and Jesse Farris return together! Friday Night Pizza and Gilmore Girls was a tradition, so the two asked for a Peppers and Onion Pie.

We get a fun look into what it's like when a parent and their child are pursuing the same craft, how Kathe handles seeing Jesse deal with a tough crowd as her mother, and Jesse gives some wonderful insight to the idea that if you're arguing with your child, having a difference of opinion, and feeling frustrated; that could be a good thing. "It's okay to sometimes not like each other if most of the time you like each other."

Kathe and Jesse also bring gifts and a "guess who got which" game turns into a contest that sees Danny have to choose a winner, and the two pitch why each should be crowned the victor. It goes as well as you think it does, and definitely no one's feelings get hurt.

We went back to our youth and played a game of Mario Party to celebrate this new chapter. Along the way, Meg tells us about some foods she couldn't get enough of, why she hopes her child isn't a sporty one, and how the character Ninji, a pudgy entity that waddles and has two giant red buttons on its chest, is the pregnant woman spirit animal.

Harry Gustfason - Concerts is People Too 05 Nov 202401:11:57

Allston Pudding editor Harry Gustafson comes by and asks Danny to make Pasta Carbonara. Harry is the host of Allston Pudding Presents: The Puddcast; a podcast centered around interviewing musicians and shedding a light on the homegrown talent of Boston.

Harry talks about his 8 years for the music blog, how its grown from the days of writing about only one genre of music, and his willingness to chase a new interest has lead him to wear many different hats over his career.

That willingness to chase a new interest is something Harry attributes to his dad. When he passed, Harry needed an outlet for grief, and found it in photography. What started as therapeutic has become a blossoming skill; one that while he can't share with his dad in a traditional sense, Harry knows he's there.

Zach Remi - The Sticky Farmhand 29 Oct 202400:55:34

Comedian and Content Creator Zach Remi (@newenglanddad) comes by and asks Danny to make blueberry pancakes. Zach also brought syrup tapped from his farm as well as a mixed berry jam from bushes on the property.

A New England boy his whole life, Zach talks growing up in New Hampshire, the joys he got from teaching, and how he only stopped teaching to be a stay at home Dad; a role he's absolutely loving, but is a different job from the other men of his life.

Zach then tells us about the farm, and how being outdoors with something to do is what keeps him sane. What better place for continued projects than a farm? Zach talks about life with chickens and how he hopes one day to have a flock of sheep, but the labor of love right now belongs to the sugaring process for maple syrup. Zach takes us through the process he's done four years in a row now where each year he's asked himself, "am I really gonna do this again?"

Joshua Sweet (and the Mysterious German) - That's Not Very Rock and Roll 21 Oct 202401:11:43

After an unexpected week off, Hooker Boy Studios is back. Musician Joshua Sweet comes by and asks Danny to recreate Buffalo Wild Wing's Asian Zing Sauce (served over Tofu Nuggets)

A vegan now, Josh talks about how in the teenage years this sauce over chicken wings were so tasty he'd even eat the bone. Not one to shy away from food, Josh also tells us about the time he did the one chip challenge and was convinced he was dying.

Josh tells us as well about his wandering path through the Music industry. Starting as a drummer, Josh now is a singer and bringing back the days of in your face front men. Whether it's through the music or having beer spat at him by a fellow musician, Josh wants the reaction.

And if you tell him he should stop? Well that wouldn't be very Rock and Roll now would it?

Hannah Richards and Tyson Buggs - Do Your Little Turn on the Catwalk 08 Oct 202400:53:13

Designers Hannah Richards and Tyson Buggs return to the studio to answer a very important question Danny has for them: What exactly is the gig I said yes to on October 18th?

Hannah is the co-founder of Heart and Soul Studios, an organization that gives young creatives in Boston a space to showcase their work. For their kick off event, it's only right they do a fashion show. Hannah and a group of hand picked up and coming Boston designers will showcase pieces from their collection, and Danny was lucky enough to be asked to partake as a model.

Hannah and Tyson share some insight on the start up cost to sewing, talk about some of the special machines they have, and what are some of their favorite (and not so favorite) materials to work with. The two also talk about what it's like to work closely in a business manner with their romantic partner, and how it can actually be pretty great if you have the right person.
