Reddit to Revenue: Mining Customer Signals Using AI with Kay Allison (276)

Season 7 · Episode 276

mardi 2 décembre 2025Duration 30:52

In this episode of Digital Marketing Masters, I sit down with product development and consumer insights expert Kay Allison to explore how AI can supercharge audience research and product innovation. We discuss why so many entrepreneurs (and big brands) mistakenly project their own preferences onto customers, how to recognize different decision-making styles and motivations, and the importance of uncovering real human conflicts, those tension points between what people want and what’s available. Kaye shares practical, low-cost methods to mine authentic customer conversations from Reddit, reviews, and social platforms, plus how to structure prompts for AI tools to identify segments, surface unmet needs, and turn messy qualitative data into actionable insights.

We also dive into advanced and “poor man’s” workflows: using Reddit’s Answers, exporting forum threads into docs, and uploading them to AI for synthesis; directing models to targeted sources and timeframes; and crafting context-rich prompts that specify role, data, output, and formatting. Kaye outlines a replicable prompt framework and offers her custom GPT for sorting customer data. We wrap by connecting these skills to broader problem-solving—from consumer research to complex health contexts—while emphasizing ethical use and the power of better questions to get better answers.

Is Your Automation Removing Humanness? with George Bryant (275)

Season 7 · Episode 275

mardi 4 novembre 2025Duration 38:15

In this episode of Digital Marketing Masters, I chat with George Bryant (The Mind of George) about the balance between AI automation and human connection in business. George shares wild stats from his podcasting journey, why “user‑generated keynotes” beat rehearsed scripts, and how doubling down on principles and values outlasts fast‑changing tactics. We dig into the real end goal behind most tech and automation, giving people time back. And why removing the “secret ingredient” (you) can stall growth. From customer journeys to local SMB automation, we explore what to automate (the admin and repetitive tasks) and what to keep human (coaching, trust, nuance, and community). We also talk AI’s exponential pace, robotics already in the real world, and the growing demand for authentic relationships, plus a few tales from the chicken coop that remind us business is ultimately people to people. If you’re wrestling with how to apply AI without erasing your voice, this conversation maps a practical path: automate the parts nobody misses so you can show up more where it matters. Principles over platforms, relationships overreach, and human magic at the heart of modern marketing.

The State of The American Food Industry with David Page (173)

Season 3 · Episode 173

mardi 4 mai 2021Duration 31:59

Matt has a frank food discussion with Author, Producer, and Foodie, David Page about the state of the American food industry and his new book, Food Americana. Two-time Emmy winner David Page changed the world of food television by creating, developing, and executive-producing the groundbreaking show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Before that, as a network news producer based in London, Frankfurt, and Budapest, he traveled Europe, Africa, and the Middle East doing two things:  covering some of the biggest stories in the world and developing a passion for some of the world’s most incredible food. Page walked through Checkpoint Charlie into East Berlin the night the Berlin wall opened, but his favorite memory of the eastern side before reunification remains the weisswurst sold under the S-Bahn elevated train. He was first served couscous by Moammar Khaddafy’s kitchen staff while waiting in a tent to interview the dictator in Libya. Blood oranges at a three o’clock breakfast with Yasser Arafat. Wild boar prosciutto in Rome. Bouillabaisse in Marseille. Cheese pies in Tbilisi. Venison in Salzburg. Nonstop caviar in Moscow. He even managed to slip a few food features in between the headline stories, such as a profile of Germany’s leading food critic, which turned out not to be the oxymoron one might assume. Once back in the states, Page has pursued his passion both personally and professionally. Show-producing Good Morning America, he was involved in a substantial amount of food coverage, including cooking segments by Emeril Lagasse. Creating Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and hands-on producing its first eleven seasons took him deep into the world of American food—its vast variations, its history, its evolution, and especially the dedicated cooks and 212 Food Americana chefs keeping it vibrant. His next series, the syndicated Beer Geeks, dove deep into the intersection of great beer and great food. It is those experiences, that education, and the discovery of little-known stories and facts that led Page to dig even deeper and tie the strands together in Food Americana.
