Edit: We recorded this interview early august and Tim's views on NFTs, crypto and Ai have shifted towards a negative side due to current situations in the past few months he is pro regulation to make sure all artists and people in general aren’t ripped off or taken advantage of and he believes we need to do all we can to protective our work and ourselves. Tim and I met randomly online but it's been fun picking his hard surface brain for all manner of cool stuff. Tim spent his days working contracts to eventually land at 343 where he's worked on multiple Halo projects including the latest and greatest Halo Infinite. We chatted about his early career and breaking into the industry as well as tips to stay a float on contract work when times are tough.

Esben has been (like most artist I speak to) someone I've wanted to chat with for a long time. I've followed his work since his days at SIXMOREVODKA and really can't understand how he magics up some of his illustrations. We sat down to talk about his future plans now he's back from LA and what he plans to do with his time. We talked about mental health in art and taking much needed breaks when it gets too tough. I really enjoyed this talk and I hope you guys too. Thanks again to Esben for giving up his time as always. EP84 Scott Robertson Round 2 Interview
29 Apr 2022
01:17:31
This is now the second time Scott has joined us on the podcast and honestly I couldn't be happier. It's been one of the biggest pleasures to chat to Scott again because every time I do I feel like I've grown as an artist. We chatted about his new book that's currently still in production on design and of course what he's been up to the last few years. What we chatted about in detail was his last 6-12 months working in VR and of course utilising AI to build new artwork creations. Again thanks to Scott for chatting and I hope you guys enjoy the episode

It was great to catch up with Ian and check out all the work he's been doing behind the scenes of big hollywood blockbusters. Ian has now worked on 2 DC films and many other huge IP's while at the same time developing his own "Neverland" We ask him about work life balance and of course how living in Canada has changed his view on city life and of course how he's dealt with the Pandemic!

I've been a massive fan of point and click adventures all my life and of course one of the biggest of those has always been the games that were made at Lucasarts in the 90s. Behind all those amazing titles were some of the best scores and music ever composed for video games and I had the absolute pleasure of speaking to the man behind that vision Mr Peter McConnell.Peter McConnell has composed award-winning scores for a diverse range of video games including Broken Age, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, the Sly Cooper series, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Psychonauts, Brutal Legend and Grim Fandango. Before working independently, Peter composed in-house at LucasArts contributing to beloved franchises such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Monkey Island.
We spoke about his time on all of these amazing projects, from his time studying music theory at Harvard to working now on Psychonauts 2 with Double Fine

I've been a fan of Darren's work since Bastion first hit the gaming scene back in the early 2010s. His consistent great work and ability to convey any kind of mood or tone with his audio really impressed me. As the podcast is now 4 years old we begin to mature and look to other disciplines to inform and strengthen our own. Darren was an easy pick for that first venture into something different. We talked about his composing work from Bastion to HADES and how he felt he's grown since the inception of Supergiant Games. We also looked back and tried to pick apart any advice or ideas he now had thinking about his span and career in audio. My thanks again to Darren for giving up his time.

Since I've been on YouTube one artist has been a constant in my feed since 2015. Tyler has always put out quality content and taught at CGMA for multiple years but I heard his journey wasn't always smooth. I wanted to dive deep into his backstory and find out what drove him to not only create art but also to create online content. This was a great interview and I really enjoyed Tyler's thoughts on online publishing and approaching learning with new tools. Thanks again to Tyler for giving up his time to talk to me

I first noticed Joes's work when he was credited on the Castlevania Netflix series. His background work and illustrations for the series were astounding and so well done I had to learn more. Fast forward 2 years after talking online and trying to find times that suited us both I finally got to sit down with him and talk about his amazing career.
Thanks again to Jose for giving up his time to talk to me.
