We're back with a new episode, tastefully delayed for a day to cover the recent State of Play from Sony!

Kicking things off we've got a Quest Log packed with some brief impressions of Destiny 2 The Witch Queen, Kirby and the Forgotten Land's demo, and Devolver's Tumble Time before wading into our meaty and enthusiastic conversation about Elden Ring. We talk about how we've found our time in the Lands Between and our many deaths at the hand of various different bosses and hazards.

Meanwhile in Dope or Nope we break down all of the announcements from the State of Play, including the bizarre Exoprimal where it literally rains dinosaurs and Square Enix managing to avoid naming yet another SRPG as an official entry in the Final Fantasy Tactics franchise. We also find time for a brief discussion on those adorable new Pokemon starters for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

We're back with our first regular episode of the year and we've got a juicy Quest Log ahead of a gift wrapped Nintendo Direct to start off 2022 in the best way possible.

Joel and Kyran have spent some time with Game Freak's newest Pokémon game that hopes to shake up the formula, the results are mixed but there's still positive things that can be taken from this game and carried forward with the series. Joel's also rediscovered Fortnite and talks about his grind with OlliOlli World whilst Kyran's been setting several new Jurassic World parks and trying to keep those rowdy dinosaurs under control.

Elsewhere the first Nintendo Direct has arrived and given us plenty of announcements and updates to chew on, including Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Live A Live plus updates on Advance Wars, Triangle Strategy, and more.

We're looking forward to another big year with SEVERAL heavy hitters landing in the next few weeks, we hope you'll join us for another crazy year.

We made it through 2021! But before we put it to rest and look forward to all the great new games coming up in 2022 (we are in the month of Elden Ring!) it's time to take a final look back at the year that was.

Both Joel and Kyran have put together top ten lists for their personal Game of the Year lists in the same manner as last year, it's something we found incredibly fun so decided to give it another shot! Kyran's list starts at 0:13:39 and Joel's list starts at 0:28:17.

It was another surprisingly good year for games, we also make some time for shout outs for games that didn't make the cut or we didn't play enough of to really put them in the running to make our lists.

This year we've decided to pass on the esports and content creator awards as we just didn't know enough about any of the nominees to make an informed choice.

Dialogue Options Podcast Episode 192: Seeking the Elden Ring

Greetings listeners, we're back with another episode!

On this week's show we focus entirely on what we've been playing with a Quest Log only episode, which tracks given Kyran held everyone up in October to gush about Metroid (sorry not sorry).

Joel and Kyran have both reached credits on the incredibly simple and fun Unpacking from Witch Beam Games and discuss how much they enjoyed the experience, including the subtle but effective underlying narrative told exclusively through the gameplay's strengths. We also talk about our time with Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy where Kyran tries to convince Joel to pause what he's playing at the moment to get back into finishing it, it's almost certainly one of 2021's most surprising video games.

Lastly we have the two main games of the show, Joel has spent the last week getting his fix with Forza Horizon 5 and fills Kyran in on all the details from Playground's newest racer for fans of all skill levels, meanwhile Kyran waded into the Elden Ring closed network test over the weekend and spends almost too much time talking to Joel about everything he loved about the preview and how much he already misses it.

The Game Awards nominees are out so its very likely our next episode will be us running down the list and making our picks, so make sure you go to get your votes in as well! (Specifically for Metroid Dread as GOTY, let's make this happen)
