Radio Power with WNXP’s Jason Moon Wilkins & Emily Young

mardi 28 janvier 2025Duration 01:11:36

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/devalued/id1630246315

Every few years there will be an inevitable outcry that “Radio is dead.” Fortunately, the team at Nashville’s WNXP 91.1 FM didn’t get the memo. The public radio station launched in late 2020; not exactly an ideal time for anything but the station has flourished in the years since.

Devalued is honored to host the station’s Program Director and Brand Manager Jason Moon Wilkins and Events Director (and lifelong Nashvillian) Emily Young. The duo provide real insights about how radio fits into the modern music industry, how they consciously work to lift the community and how artists can directly benefit from radio, even today!

Our conversation is delightful evidence that the headlines are wrong; radio isn’t dead and, in fact, is possibly more accessible than ever.

Does Anybody Make It Anymore? Happy Hour Live with Lilly Hiatt and John P Strohm

jeudi 22 décembre 2022Duration 38:27

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/devalued/id1630246315

Today we hear a really special episode; our first ever live episode! Recorded Thursday, December 15th at Vinyl Tap in East Nashville with acclaimed musician Lilly Hiatt and former Rounder Records president John P Strohm. The topic at hand was “Does Anybody Make It Anymore?” and both guests provided great insights from their unique perspectives. What is making it? Should artists set specific goals to achieve? How dirty of a word is “content”? Is social media a prerequisite for reaching creative satisfaction?

Thanks to everyone that came out and to Good People Brewing for the sponsorship. Devalued Happy Hour will happen again in March 2023; stay tuned.
