| HH#77: The Great Ghiblification | 04 Apr 2025 | 02:52:04 | |
In this episode, we discuss: The Great Ghiblification, Shinigami Totori, The Sayama Incident, Mr. Sato's Transformation, The Demon of Reiwa, The Watatsumi Shrine Incident (a False Poo Operation?), YOUは何をしに日本へ, Studio SIX Shibari (link purposefully excluded as it is NSFW), and some relatively unknown news stories related to Japanese tourists behavior poorly abroad, the picnic incident being my personal favorite. This brings me to an important point: Please keep in the following disclaimer when listening to the Deep in Japan Podcast: We know nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Also, this reality is likely just a low-budget sim run by a caffeinated intern in a higher dimension who’s currently on break. So don't take anything srsly—especially not us. Please also note that Deep in Japan Podcast™ is entirely free-range, non-GMO, and listener-fueled—meaning it runs solely on the psychic energy and microtransactions of beautiful beings like YOU (hopefully). If you like what you hear, consider BECOMING A PATRON. Like most things, it only hurts the first time. If you've got something to say, drop me a line on Twitter at @DeepinJapanPod or email me at deep.in.japan.podcast@gmail.com. However, plz note that I'm far more likely to reply to MY AMAZING PATRONS. Apologies, but there are only so many hours in the day—and, well, some people are just better (perspectivally). Thanks for listening, traveler of the ear. Yoroshiku and rockets! | |||

| HH#70: The Otaku Spectrum | 09 Aug 2024 | 03:14:17 | |
Once again, Trevor-kohai was lured into DIJ studios under the pretense of ‘a quick chat’ with 'free pizza and matcha' only to be mercilessly schooled in the ancient, highly classified art of podcasting—WW2 Japanese Secret Police-style. Picture it: 12 grueling hours of unrelenting waterboarding with Calpis (don’t worry, we used the fizzy kind for maximum effect) before he finally caved in and agreed to grace us with his presence for another round of HAPPY TIMES. And let me tell you, folks, the results are nothing short of miraculous. So buckle up, grab your spoons, and prepare yourself for a steaming hot serving of double cheese gyudon—served with a side of Trevor’s tears. Just the way you like it! LINKS:
