After 19 straight games without an off day the Cardinals are scuffling again. A great stretch against the Red Sox, Dodgers, and Brewers is immediately followed by a disappointing stretch against the Reds, Guardians, and Royals. The Cards are taxed and it has shown. Nolan Arenado and Willson Contreras have struggled mightily. Nolan Gorman has slowed down and Steven Matz has been atrocious.
