The Houston Cougars finished the season in the Sweet 16 at 32-5 after a heartbreaking loss to Duke. Houston started fast and Duke had a "deer in the headlights" look to them while the refs let the teams play. But a devastating game-ending ankle injury to Jamal Shead at the 6:50 mark of the first half (when UH led 16-10) proved pivotal, allowing Duke to eek out a 54-51 win, ending Houston’s season. Welcome to Episode 23 of the No Conference for Old Men Podcast. After overcoming one-sided officiating and four starters fouling out, Houston beat Texas A&M 100-95 in overtime! The entire roster was needed, and the Cougars received key contributions from some unlikely sources.
