**Urban Fire Safety and Disaster Management**
Recent urban fire incidents, such as the tragic event in Delhi that claimed nine lives, highlight severe systemic failures like illegal constructions, regulatory non-compliance, and outdated firefighting equipment. Addressing these challenges requires strict enforcement of the National Building Code, mandatory safety audits, and technological integration, including the use of drones and GIS mapping for congested areas.
**India's Tourism Sector**
While tourism directly contributes 2.72% to India's GDP, incidents like the Jabalpur cruise tragedy expose critical gaps in safety enforcement and infrastructure. To scale the sector and attract more foreign tourists, India is relying on initiatives like the PRASHAD scheme, Swadesh Darshan, and targeted global campaigns, while emphasizing the need for public-private partnerships to improve amenities.

* **Lipulekh Pass Dispute:** India and Nepal are in a border dispute over the Kalapani, Limpiyadhura, and Lipulekh areas located at the India-Tibet-Nepal tri-junction. The disagreement stems from differing interpretations of the Kali River's origin under the 1816 Sugauli Treaty.
* **Nuclear Energy Regulation:** The introduction of the SHANTI Act to encourage private sector involvement in nuclear energy has sparked a turf war between the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and the Ministry of Power over who should supervise new civil nuclear projects.
* **South Coast Railway Zone:** Fulfilling a promise from the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, the 18th railway zone will be headquartered in Visakhapatnam, carved out of the South Central and East Coast Railways.
**Science and Health Phenomena**
* **Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis):** These vibrant lights in high-altitude regions like Norway are caused by charged particles from the sun interacting with Earth's magnetic field and ionized gases (like oxygen and nitrogen) in the upper atmosphere.
