Cup Check Wrestling Bonus - Observer Awards? I Hardly Know Her Awards17 Feb 202601:32:21

In the overtime segment of a Family Day long weekend recording session, Schulzie and Ace use the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards as an excuse to look back at the peaks and valleys of professional wrestling in 2025.

Ā

MĆstico and CMLL fly in Arena Mexico while Schulzie falls, without style, trying to properly pronounce Spanish words.

Ā

The B.C. boys give AEW and WWE their beef and bouquets while even sneaking in a few minutes to tackle the NWA and some CoKane.Ā

Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 3 - Wrestling with Mania and Corporate Greed17 Feb 202602:30:29

In the first part of a marathon Family Day long weekend recording session, Schulzie and Ace go to the land down under and break down AEW Grand Slam Australia to cap off an excellent week of TV. With it, the B.C. boys have a roadmap to AEW's Revolution pay-per-view event in March, with mostly familiar feuds leading the way.

Ā

On the Indie scene in B.C., Thrash Wrestling goes full on punk rock to revise the date for their show in Kamloops while Vancouver Magazine gives BOOM! Pro Wrestling five big BOOM's on its Power 50 list.

Ā

And we're all trying to find the cause of WrestleMania's ticket sales being down in Las Vegas year-over-year. WWE appears to have found it, but Schulzie and Ace have other ideas.

Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 2 - No Kings, except Brody08 Feb 202602:23:42
Proudly and intentionally brought to you without the use of Artificial Intelligence, Schulzie and Ace take a deep dive into a WrestleMania main event that's hot (CM Punk v. Roman Reigns) and a potential bout that is oh so not (anything involving Drew McIntyre). Ā  AEW fans in Las Vegas made headlines with chants of "F*CK ICE" during the main event of Wednesday's Dynamite. The B.C. buds discuss Brody King's "Abolish ICE" activism and the contrast of how AEW wrestlers are allowed to express themselves compared to those in WWE before taking another look at a crowded main event field. Ā  More independent wrestling events in B.C. are on the docket! And finally, happy trails to Canadian independent wrestling legend Vance Nevada, who recently retired from in-ring competition.
Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 1 - Pre-Recorded and in Living Colour31 Jan 202601:55:07

We're (almost) live, pal!

Ā

On the inaugural edition of Cup Check Wrestling, Schulzie and Ace discuss the lore of their passion for professional wrestling - from their peak childhood memories to their lowkey childhood trauma - to set the table for their fellow fans of real graps and morbidly curious assets to society.

Ā

From there, the B.C. buds try to determine what's real and "Unreal" about WWE's Royal Rumble build, who will dethrone MJF in AEW, and what will transpire in 2026. Additionally, they give their pitch on why you should attend your local independent wrestling promotions.

Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 4 - Better Late Than Never, Right?25 Feb 202602:02:16

After the first of many presumed conflicting weekends, Schulzie and Ace are back to break down the week - and change - of pro rasslin'.

Ā

(tw: sexual assault, suicide from 8:15-1:01:00)

Ā

The boys begin with the news cycle though as Janel Grant spoke with the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence, her first public appearance since filing a lawsuit against WWE and Vince McMahon, alleging instances of physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault and sex trafficking during her time at WWE. Prior to reacting to the latest developments of the case in Connecticut District Court, the boys take time to briefly summarize the lawsuit, explain what led to it and what followed and how WWE hasn't shown much urgency when reacting to the matter.

From there, Schulzie and Ace look at the upcoming B.C. Indie wrestling dates, discuss a pair of hot angles from AEW TV, say goodbye to AJ Styles, predict where WWE will go following its Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event and oh god we may not be able to record on Sunday again.

Cup Check Wrestling 15 - VIPW and WrestleFest Lore with BJ Laredo09 Jun 202601:35:08

With just under two weeks to go until Vancouver Island Pro Wrestling's biggest event of the year - WrestleFest III from Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo - Schulzie and Ace sit down with VIPW co-owner, promoter and wrestler BJ Laredo.

The boys discuss how VIPW grew from the remnants of ECCW's presence on Vancouver Island to training talent at its own wrestling school, running an arena show and opening its doors for the community.

Finally, BJ previews the WrestleFest card, which includes independent guest stars such as Gisele Shaw and Mance Warner, a tables, ladders and chairs main event to determine a modern day triple crown tag team championship, and a hoss fight for the VIPW championship.

Cup Check Wrestling 14 - Midget Wrestling Warriors in Merritt20 May 202601:50:49

An abbreviated edition of the Cup Check Wrestling podcast as Schulzie and Ace navigate through technical difficulties to ensure a firm curfew can be met.

The boys discuss Schulzie's experience at the Midget Wrestling Warriors show in Merritt over May long weekend. A fantastic independent professional wrestling show in front of a hot crowd that had a non-traditional wrestling energy to start.

From there, the boys take a look at the upcoming AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view event and Schulzie wraps up with a report from Trash Wrestling in Penticton and major news out of Prince George.

Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 5 - Schulzie and Ace's Clustercup04 Mar 202603:11:12

Following a preposterously busy weekend, Schulzie and Ace cover a preposterously busy week in wrestling with a preposterously long podcast.

Ā

Amid the chaos, the B.C. buds unveil the first guest in Cup Check Wrestling history during the Indies segment.

Ā

Topics range from WWE's Elimination Chamber fallout, AEW's road to Revolution, ROH's new home, WBD-Paramount's merger and the singles debut of 14-year-old Brodie Lee Jr.

Cup Check Wrestling 13 - Just Starting Over11 May 202602:46:38

After a two-week hiatus due to busy schedules, mental wellness days and viral infections, Schulzie and Ace are back to discuss their experiences with Thrash Wrestling in Kamloops and VIPW in Duncan, respectively.

Ā

From there, the boys break down WWE Backlash, featuring Seth Rollins' battle with Father Time and Schulzie and Ace coming to grips with their own mortality, differing opinions on Danhausen's partner and comedy matches, a fantastic main event and dread of starting over with more Bloodline lore.

Ā

The podcast ends with well wishes to Rebel and a look back at Ted Turner's legacy on the world of professional wrestling, which includes an unexpected tie-in to one of Cup Check Wrestling's staples.

Cup Check Wrestling 12 - Five Star Classic Review of WrestleMania20 Apr 202602:41:43

Amid illness and air travel, Schulzie and Ace were able to get through both nights of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas!

On the aggregate, one of the most morally bankrupt, soulless two-day events that had professional wrestling interrupt its advertisements. However, it remarkably had one of the greatest main events and matches in WrestleMania history, giving WWE fans a glimmer of hope amid the TKO Group bleakness.

The boys breakdown a tale of two WrestleMania main events - one of the greatest and one of the worst on back-to-back nights - and everything in between. All while getting off track to determine if Randy Orton has had more great matches than the Miz, argue over what's WWE's perception of a five-star match and dancing on the pro wrestling grave of Pat McAfee.

Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 11 - Vibes Up, Elbows Down at AEW Dynasty17 Apr 202602:53:19

Where the best friends watch the best wrestle!

Schulzie and Ace and their loved ones attended AEW's Dynasty pay-per-view event in Vancouver. A terrific, entertaining show that put Schulzie on the broadcast, had Daniel Garcia and the Vancouver Police Department interacting with a familiar face in a hot Vancouver crowd and, unfortunately, featured one or two too many Canadians losing on home soil.

The boys react to the big show, the new AEW Men's World champion (NOT Kenny Omega...) and give their predictions for WrestleMania weekend.

Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 10 - World Cupcheck Wrestling 200007 Apr 202603:02:34

Ace returns to the podcast to discuss his special birthday, his newest member of his family and his boots on the ground report from VIPW in Nanaimo!

The boys also take time to give praise to midget wrestling. Chris Jericho is (still) All Elite! Schulzie and Ace determine what the "Cornerstone" has to offer AEW at the ripe ol' age of 55, his value to the company compared to his value to WWE and the balance of riding the young generation and getting value out of established veterans.

(tw: sexual assault, suicide from 1:42:20-2:00:00) Janel Grant filed her opposition motion to compel arbitration in her lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE, bringing forth new details about her allegations. Oral arguments are expected to be made on June 16 and the judge is expected to rule if the case will go to arbitration or not shortly after that.

From there, WWE tries to remind us of the late 1990s and early 2000s but unfortunately go full WCW 2000 in the process. Pat McAfee says the company and product that WWE fans consume is cold and awful and buries the top babyface. Buy your WrestleMania tickets today!

Schulzie ends the podcast with some optimism regarding NJPW's rebuild and the boys iron out recording details ahead of AEW Dynasty in Vancouver and WrestleMania weekend.

Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 9 - A New Wrestling Show for Ace's Birthday!30 Mar 202601:34:33

It's just Schulzie on the first, and hopefully rare, solo edition of Cup Check Wrestling as Ace celebrates his birthday and the boys deal with a week of "it's always something."

A new nationally televised wrestling program is coming as Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling announced it has secured a media rights deal with TSN. Schulzie breaks down how this all came to be and what he hopes to see from a national Canadian pro wrestling company.

AEW has announced three matches for its Dynasty pay-per-view in Vancouver, the undercard of WrestleMania is filling out and Jelly Roll almost makes Schulzie give up like John Cena when it comes to WWE.

Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 8 - Two Weeks of Lore and WWE23 Mar 202602:22:18

One week after focusing all their time and effort recapping AEW's Revolution pay-per-view event, Schulzie and Ace are back with regularly scheduled programming.

The boys discuss the weeks that were, including motor vehicle mishaps and wrapping up a theatre production for Ace and a Thrash Wrestling report from Schulzie that touches on the action inside the ring and in the stands.

Finally, the B.C. buds no longer delay the inevitable: WWE's overall creative direction and how a few good segments can't overcome a lackluster, nonsensical build to WrestleMania. Schulzie also loses his grasp with reality while searching for Gunther.

Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 7 - Find the Needle in the Hangman16 Mar 202601:58:35

In a unique edition of Cup Check Wrestling, Schulzie and Ace focus on AEW's Revolution pay-per-view - a show that lasted until 9:30 p.m. PT - because the boys need some sleep before beginning the school and work week. The weekend lore - featuring the conclusion of Ace's theatre production and Schulzie's report from Thrash Wrestling in Kamloops - along with the important notes from WWE will be addressed later in the week.

Ā

Until then, the boys come to grips with MJF retaining the AEW Men's World Championship fair and square in a bloody, disgusting, glorious, CM Punk lore filled Texas Death match, meaning "Hangman" Adam Page can never challenge for the top prize in AEW ever again... or maybe not, dude? Schulzie and Ace break down what could come next in one of the most creatively bold, or bone-headed decisions, AEW has ever made.

Ā

The show also features a ton of heels winning clean, a bunch of surprise turns, the Rizzler taking a bump, Ronda Rousey making her AEW debut and a Mexican pants off stand off during a night of fantastic wrestling that sets the stage for AEW Dynasty in Vancouver in four weeks.

Cup Check Wrestling Ep. 6 - ft. Mat Maverick09 Mar 202603:16:08

For the first time in its brief history, Cup Check Wrestling has a guest!

Mat Maverick, two-time VIPW champion, joins Schulzie and Ace for an excellent hour to discuss his career. From wrestling on Schulzie's backyard trampoline to headlining WrestleFest at Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo, and getting an update on his journey recovering from a ruptured ACL. Mat also mentions how "Papa Maverick" pitched his way to be a key figure in the main event of the first WrestleFest.

From there, Schulzie and Ace discuss Cody Rhodes adding another sequel to his finished story becoming the new WWE champion, preview AEW's Revolution pay-per-view and give five big BOOMS to Big Boom AJ, despite the Costco Guys' dip in popularity.
