I will make a new podcast episode every single day of April to publish by 6am the following morning (over on the Perpetual Brew feed). I am both terrified and ecstatic. My friend Miles – who stewards The Tea Stand – will be serving free tea in Maria Hernandez Park every single day of the month from noon to six. This 30-day podcast – Perpetual Brew – will aim to encapsulate this 30-day free tea project: what happens and why it matters. 

Some episodes might be horrible. Others, hopefully, will offer a new lens into a project I deeply admire.

I fell madly in love with a girl. 

But, the relationship ended. This is what I would tell my post-breakup self. 

Pregnancy and childbirth absolutely fascinates me. So, I interviewed two important women in my life to hear their stories. 

Some of what is discussed may be overwhelming to listeners. Please take care. Also, the week markers and time codes are factually incorrect, and serve merely as a stylistic tool.

Months ago, while working in a cafe on East 9th, a guy with blue hair and a huge smile asked excitedly what I was up to. What followed was hours of passionate chatter about our work, our relationships with our mothers and syrup drenched pancakes. His words often expand, delight and surprise me. He has become a dear friend that I'm lucky to know.

Some of my favorite moments of pain, play and nonsense from our time on the trail. 

My best friend Sam and I set out to hike the entire state of Vermont. The trail is hard as f*ck: uncomfortable, unforgiving, and almost always raining. Along the way, we're forced to confront every challenge -- physical, emotional, and uncomfortable insecurities. By the end of it, we are certainly smelly and deeply changed.

There’s one video on the internet that I return to more than any other that exists: the final 3 minutes and 39 seconds of Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals. The score is tied at 89. The Cleveland Cavaliers, my home team, are facing off against the unbeatable Golden State Warriors. 

I grew up on Cavs basketball. As a kid, I had two dreams: one, to play in the NBA; two, to become LeBron James. I often sported my goofy Varejão wig, clutched an autograph from Daniel “Boobie” Gibson from his day camp, and waited year after year for a miracle that never came.

Until 2016.

The Cavs had never won a championship. No team had EVER come back from a 3–1 deficit in the Finals. So many people lost hope.

But, Cleveland reminded me what's possible when you believe.

Stella was my childhood best friend. These days, I mainly see Stella as a name in a group chat of middle school friends. I fly home to ask Stella what happened to us and try to grapple with growing apart.
