Also this week, Lou locks lips with Gary, Aadi plans a Summer party and Dee-Dee and James clash over her plans for a religious upbringing for Laila.

Also this week, the grand unveiling of the new look Number 8 (including the welcome return of Vin Diesel the weasel!), Brody has a seizure and Millie confesses she's up the duff - but is it all just a ruse to draw Theo back home?

A jolly May Day trip to the park takes a heartbreaking turn for Eileen this week when Julie sadly passes away. Though we've been critical in the past of Corrie bringing back this character just to kill her off, we have to admit that it's been an absolute joy seeing her on our screens again - however briefly. Pretty much everything surrounding the aftermath of her death gets a big thumbs down from us, though, from Brian jumping to the wild conclusion that Eileen bumped her off to George's farcical embalming fiasco on Friday. Also this week, Jenny bids farewell to  the Rovers (an even greater tragedy than Julie's death as far as we're concerned!), an intriguing past is teased between Mick and Kit, and James returns to the UK to collect Laila - but is Dee-Dee ready to let her go?

Next up, it's The Kabin, and we chat about how Paul's MND storyline has inspired one Corrie fan to take on an incredible challenge to raise money for charity over in Australia. We finish things off with more of your listener feedback.

A real mixed bag of a week, we thought, with Wednesday's trip to Weatherfield definitely being the highlight thanks to its cosy, heartwarming scenes like movie night at No. 5 and what we're hoping is the beginning of a redemption arc for Cassie as she she bonds with Ken following his fall. Either side of that episode, though, there was one that made us angry (Toyah and Nick... No!!) and anther whose main story of Kevin and Stefan going head to head just didn't make that big of an impression on us. Still, at least we got a random reappearance of Sabrina, who looks set to be involved in dastardly Joel's plot in some way...

Well, unless you count his promotion to Executive Producer, but that's another story... Britain's Got Talent week is here again! Well, it WAS here. So let's crank up The Lark Ascending, hit that rewind button and recap the week in Weatherfield between the 27th and the 31st May (Episodes #11,276 - 11,280).

Everyone watching this week's Corrie most likely went into Monday's episode with their theories about what was going to happen - and if you were anything like us, you were probably right with a lot of it. The identity of Lauren's so-called killer, the outcome of Roy's confrontation with Griff that was teased when we were shown his makeshift blade last week, the budding romantic tension between Carla and Swain... but despite the week still being relatively low on shocks, we really did quite enjoy it - for the most part. The 'different perspectives' schtick wasn't necessarily needed, but it was fun for the three days it lasted, and the flashbacks on Thursday - especially the one with Joel looking at himself in the mirror - were especially effective. There was a lot to unpack this week and it actually turned out to be one our longest ever Street Talk segments, so after recapping some of the week's big news stories in The Kabin, we decided to end the podcast there. We will get to that feedback eventually, though, we promise!

Those returning villains just keep on coming, with both Dean and Griff making a reappearance this week, and Corey, though admittedly not on screen, being a big focus of Monday's episode. Were any of them behind Lauren's murder? Is Lauren actually even dead? Like most viewers, we definitely have our doubts, but we guess it won't be too long until we find out now... It's been a tough old week for Abi too - not only does she discover a documentary has been made about Seb's 'rising star' killer, but then she finds out a sex tape is doing the rounds online that seems to contain footage of her! Meanwhile, Bernie tries in vain to convince Kit to be part of the family, Bethany makes a surprise new BFF and Simon prepares to head out to sea with his dad - but will Leanne be back from the retreat in time before he ups anchor and sets sail?

Not a whole lot of Corrie related news this week, but we do at least get the NTA nominations to chat about in The Kabin, and we finish things off with more of your feedback, including some great suggestions for Corrie/Simpsons crossover characters following this week's Listener Questions episode!

There were a few nice little mysteries this week that keep us guessing, with the question of the identity of Nathan's attacker on Wednesday being the most intriguing - even if we didn't think Corrie quite stuck the landing once the mystery assailant was revealed. Bernie's search for her long-lost son also proved quite interesting, and with Christopher / Kit / Zodiac / Zac now working under the iron-fisted DS Swain, it looks like we may be seeing a whole lot more of him in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the always entertaining Sally provided the laughs on Friday as she sucked up to Demi, the garage takes one step closer to coming out of the dark ages thanks to a new website and Leanne heads off on an Institute retreat - but just how brainwashed will she be on her return?

After a brief news section we delve into the mailbag with some of your feedback, including one listener's ponderings on modern Corrie lacking main characters like Les Battersby with clearly bigoted views - and how he thought the Max story should have ended differently.

A mixed bag of opinions on this week's episodes, to be honest. Though we were both in agreement that the return of Nathan Curtis to the show left us feeling slightly underwhelmed - but still hopeful that be getting a bit more sinister in the coming weeks - while Gemma's still very much engaged in the Lauren story, Michael's patience for how long it's dragging out is wearing a little thin... A lot of characters getting angry at each other this week too - while Maria's annoyance at Gary after catching him with Sarah is somewhat understandable, George and Glenda at war just doesn't sit right with us! Also this week, Bernie organises a 24-hour karaokethon (that we only got to see snippets of two songs of), Alya heads off to Ireland and Liam becomes the third character in a week to be found collapsed on the floor - honestly, we just think everyone's trying to get in on Summer's bit while she's off in the US...

In The Kabin, we discuss the new details on the Radio Times Soap Awards, which we now have a date and a location for - will they be a fitting replacement for the BSAs? We round things off with more of your feedback.

It's been quite a while since the Paul story has been at the forefront of the show, but it returned to the spotlight this week, bringing a new character into the mix in the form of Paul and Gemma's dad Denny. Sounds like he's got a bit of a secret about our Bernadette too - but does this story need any extra bells and whistles at this stage? We were also introduced to some new characters in Steve's dating adventures this week too, with Aurora and Demi both making quite the impression. Meanwhile, Roy takes a step towards solving the mystery of Lauren's disappearance, and Alya and Adam finally admit their feelings for each other. Well, maybe 'finally' isn't the right word considering how they seemed to have been conjured out of nowhere to facilitate Sair Khan's maternity leave story, but you get the picture.

Not an especially big week for news this week, but there are a few small stories to cover before we head into the feedback section to hear some of your reactions to Toyah's big revelation, plus in a refreshing change to what seems to be a growing majority of online discourse at the moment, a thoroughly positive email about the state of the show at the moment - fancy that!

In our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in the show between the 22nd and the 26th April (Episodes #11,246 - 11,251).

Well this week's action certainly stirred up some strong opinions online, didn't it? And we're not talking about the will-they-won't-they relationship status of Asha and Nina either.. No, it seems that with Toyah's new story, which kicked off on Monday, Corrie is asking its viewers to suspend quite a bit of disbelief and accept the fact that for six months or so of 2001, Toyah was pregnant with Phil Simmonds' baby. You know, despite there being no evidence on screen at the time that that could have possibly been the case. Since rumours of this story started doing the rounds about a month or so ago, we've been whipping ourselves into a frenzy about the unlikelihood of this turn of events, and now it's been shown on screen... we really do have mixed opinions. Elsewhere this week, the little projectionist living inside Roy's head treats us to another thrilling instalment of what's going on in his inner psyche, Amy struggles to find interview guests for her new radio show (we've all been there, Amy!) and Todd makes a scandalous discovery tucked amongst Archie's files at the undertaker's...

For our latest bonus podcast, we take a look at the times that Coronation Street has been a bit free with its own canonicity, delving into the past of its characters and tweaking or adding to what we'd previously believed to be true in order to serve a new storyline. From changing names and dates to characters who popped in and out of existence despite it not really holding up to scrutiny of the show's lore, Corrie's had a surprising number of retcons and revisions over the years, and here we discuss which ones, in our eyes at least, are acceptable, and which ones we think should never have made it past the story conference!

On our latest podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 15th and the 19th April (Episodes #11240 - 11245). Apologies on the delay on this one, folks, but as you may be aware, we were out on the Isle of Wight on Friday night, seeing Mikey North and Ryan Prescott in a brilliant live event! We start off the podcast by giving you all our glowing impressions of the event - let's hope there's plenty more where that came from!

Partly because of our lateness and partly because Michael's under the weather and losing his voice yet again, we make this episode of the podcast a Street Talk only affair once we get past the Ryan and Mikey chat - and with Roy now behind bars on remand, there's certainly a lot to chat about! As much as we quite enjoyed the court scenes on Monday, things did go off the boil (for one of us, at least!) come Wednesday when Bobby attempted to throw the police off the scent by inadvertently making up that he saw Lauren's assailant wearing an exact replica of Daniel's jacket - are we to believe he reality coded it into existence, perhaps? Speaking of which, Leanne's going further down the Institute's rabbit hole this week - but at least her newfound outlook on life seems to have got her to freshen up her wardrobe. Also this week, Sean ends his twenty year stay at Number 11, Alya quits Barlows' Legal Services (seemingly throwing them into technological chaos as she was the only one who knew how to close down pop up ads) and Eliza Didlittle heads off to pastures new on the continent.

For this week's character profile, we chat about one of Corrie's brightest young stars of the past few years, Asha Alahan! Though Tanisha Gorey has been in the role of Asha since 2009, it wasn't until Iain Macleod took over as producer that show stepped up a gear with her character, and Tanisha got some much deserved praise for her work on stories such as Asha's skin lightening and sexting. In this profile, we talk about her story so far on the show, and what our hopes are for her now that she's reached adulthood.

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the comings and goings in Weatherfield between the 28th April and the 2nd May (Episodes #11,555 - 11,560).

After a fantastic four and a half years on the Street, minxy Daisy slinks out of Weatherfield this week, but what did we think of her exit, and what's going to happen with the chaos left in her wake? Daniel might be able to console himself with Mickey Mouse's autograph after all, but things are certainly not looking good for our Jenny... Meanwhile, Debbie gets the news she's been dreading from the hospital, and Carl looks all set to take advantage. Also this week, Gary comes out from wherever he's been hiding and snaps up the builder's yard, George is worried for his future with Eileen, and Betsy continues to cause tension between Carla and Lisa.

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 8th and the 12th April (Episodes #11,234 - 11,239).

All in all, a pretty decent week for Corrie this week, we thought, thanks to Roy Cropper being front and centre once again. Yes, we've all seen characters being wrongly imprisoned before, and yes, we know that he's not going to be spending his final days in a prison cell and that something's going to come along eventually to exonerate him, but we're still very much enjoying the journey, as unwise and naive as some of Roy's decisions may have been of late! Same with the Institute story too - all this talk of reality coding is utterly bonkers, but we're so intrigued as to where it's leading for Leanne, Nick and Toyah (just please no secret affair for the latter two, Corrie!). The bits with Liam and Dylan didn't necessarily spark that much excitement, and the less said about the lack of stability behind the scenes at the Rovers the better, but on the whole, this week's given us a lot to chat about!

After the Street Talk segment, we're off to The Kabin, where there's yet another rumour fuelled article about the so-called crisis at Corrie to contend with, plus, for a bit of lighter news, we check out where Corrie related folks have ended up in the Radio Times' list of Top 100 most influential people in TV. We recently took a trip up to Manchester again to take a look at what was new for 2024 at the Coronation Street Experience. As well as that, we enjoyed a night out at the Palace Theatre seeing See Cleaver star as Mother Superior in Sister Act, caught up with some of the cast members outside the Corrie studios, visited some old filming locations including what has become of the old set at Quay Street and even travelled to Belfast to meet up with Michael Condron, who played Griff, on his home turf!

On our latest podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 1st and the 3rd April (Episodes #11,228 - 11,233). We've been away on a little break this week, which has meant our recording routine has been just as out of whack as Corrie's own broadcasting schedule, so sorry for the later (and shorter) release of this episode - hopefully normal service will resume on both counts next week!

As for the happenings on the cobbles this week, the main topic of discussion was the cat fighting between Daisy and Bethany - or at least it would have been if the mysteriously expanding Rovers kitchen wasn't hogging all the attention! By the end of the week, the pub was supposedly under Carla's control. As for what that will look like and how she thinks she's going to recoup her missing £250k from a place that's barely managing to turn a profit is anyone's guess, but we do our best to theorise! This week also saw a return to the bullying story, as Maria's overprotectiveness of Liam starts to spiral into paranoia. Will Dylan do the right thing in court next week and say his bit to get Mason sent down? We're not sure it's over for him yet... Meanwhile, Tracy joins Tommy on a flit to Spain after flip-flopping over whether or not to get back with Steve, the continued harassment of Roy leads him to confine himself to his flat, and Brian saves the day for Paul.

On our Easter edition of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown between the 25th and the 29th March (Episodes #11,222 - 11,227).

No wonder DS Swain didn't make an appearance in this week's Corrie - the poor woman must have been drowning in paperwork what with all the criminal activity going on. First off, we had Damon donning a balaclava for a raid on a security van (what a noble fellow that he didn't want to kill the driver - Sarah's got a good'un there..!); then on Friday we saw someone break into the Rovers and threaten Glenda with a baseball bat, snatching the night's takings. If you needed proof that crime levels in Weatherfield are soaring, look no further! Also this week, Paul gets some bad news from his speech and language therapist, Joseph secures a place at Oakhill, and Summer bogs off to Boston.

She may not have the name recognition as the likes of Annie Walker, Ena Sharples or Elsie Tanner, but for us, Christine Hardman is just as deserving of your attention as some of the more famous Corrie originals. First appearing in Episode 2 and staying on the show until mid-1963, Christine wasn't with with us long, but she still managed to get some memorable and actually quite dark stories under her belt in that time, including the famous scene when she was talked down off the factory roof by a young Ken Barlow. If she's an old favourite of yours too or maybe a character you don't really know much about, hopefully this will be an episode to enjoy!

This was another week where Roy's story got a heck of a lot of screen time, and that's certainly something we won't be complaining about as David Neilson continues to knock out of the park with  his performance as the wrongly accused cafe owner. It doesn't feel like the reveal of where Lauren actually is is coming any time soon, but we're happy to be steeped in the mystery of it for now! Also this week, we've got the long-awaited return of the Paul story, and as his voice starts to deteriorate, we ponder whether Billy was right to keep it from him - and also whether now's the right time for Summer to be going to Boston! There's also a return to the cobbles for Violet, a delve into Cassie's past and another appearance from the mysterious Rowan - all in all, a pretty good week, we thought!

With the tabloids rumour mill churning out stories about the 'chaos at Corrie' that's been caused by ITV's inability to find someone to replace Iain Macleod as the show's next producer, we share our thoughts on the situation in The Kabin, then finish off the show with more of your feedback.

For this week's bonus podcast, we delve into the mystery that's currently got Weatherfield's tongues wagging - what's happened to Lauren? There've been so many clues drip fed to us about her disappearance and the possible identity of her presumed kidnappers (or murderers?), so we thought we'd get them all together in one place and see if it helps us get any closer to figuring out who the guilty party is. On our latest episode of the podcast, we discuss the goings on in Weatherfield between the 11th and the 15th March (Episodes #11,210 - 11,215).

This week, the lion's share of the screen time went to the 'Where's Lauren?' storyline - though this very quickly turned into 'Who Killed Lauren?', at least in DS Swain's eyes, when a police search of the precinct flat finds some compelling evidence that a violent, bloody confrontation has taken place there. We don't seriously think that prime suspects Roy and Daniel have actually got anything to hide here (and nor, we think, are we supposed to), but that didn't stop the whole affair leaving us on the edge of our seats, especially after some brilliant scenes in the interview room! Meanwhile, a new story for Leanne gets underway when she finds herself charmed by the enigmatic leader of Simon's so-called self-help group, who's giving off some seriously culty vibes. If Nirab and the Etheric Foundation don't get at least a shout out as this story progresses, we riot! Also this week, Stu considers letting Eliza go to Germany with Dom, Mason gets charged after his fingerprints are found on the knife, and Gemma objects to Linda's offer to pay for Joseph to go to Oakhill.

In the Kabin, we celebrate Ryan Thomas' win on Dancing On Ice and find out what Colson Smith's been up to in the Big Brother House this week, then finish off the show with a bit of listener feedback.

She's no stranger to the interview room at Weatherfield Police Station, but now it's time for Vicky Myers to answer some of our questions! For this week's bonus podcast, we chat to the actress behind fan favourite character DS Swain, who Corrie have recently announced has been made a full-time cast member. It's been a long while coming, but Maria, Gary and Mrs Crawshaw finally wake up to Liam's bullying this week, and not before time either as the lad's thoughts are starting to go to some very dark places... Another interrupted schedule for Corrie has meant more podcast chaos this week, but we're here at least, chatting about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 5th and the 11th February (Episodes #11180 - 11185).

Yeah, not exactly a vintage week that one, was it? With the majority of the main players this week coming from the pool of characters that we feel apathetic towards at best, it was going to need to do a lot to hold our attention, and sadly, it really did fall short. You had Steve being his usual pillocky self as he fawns over the guy who, unbeknownst to him, has been having it off with his Mrs; Simon getting smashed before crashing Leanne's car into a bollard; Sarah continuing to pursue her delusional dream of living happily ever after with Damon and Bethany using her well tuned investigative journalism skills to get the dirt on her neighbours for Chit Chat - is anyone going to break it to her that the soap mags already had the scoop on the catfishing story six months ago..?

Up next on the podcast, it's The Kabin, where we commiserate Claire Sweeney's exit from Dancing On Ice (It's a fix! etc), and we round things off with more of your listener feedback.

It's Listener Question time again! This time, we're chatting about two topics very dear to our hearts: Gladiators and Coronation Street beating EastEnders. Well, maybe not beating them per se, more like completely ripping them off in the hope that Corrie will get some of the buzz that the women of Walford got at the height of The Six storyline last year, as we try and pick half a dozen Corrie ladies who we'd want to put front and centre of the show in 2023 in their very own murder mystery plot. And as for the Gladiators part? Well that's just us having fun trying to come up with Gladiator names that we'd give our favourite Corrie characters if they were to don a spandex leotard for an evening and bash each other about with a pugil stick - or at least a roll of fabric from the factory. We reckon we actually came up with some good ideas for that one, but as always, we'd love to hear your own suggestions, so do write in and let us know if you have any!

Only two episodes of Corrie this week, so we're coming at you early! Today's podcast covers the goings on in Weatherfield between the 29th and the 31st January (Episodes #11176 - 11179).

The much teased affair storyline between Tracy and ex-Weathy County player Tommy Orpington finally kicked off this week - and we were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves not wanting to give it the red card! Same too with the Bailey story - we hadn't been too fussed with all the gambling stuff before Christmas, but the revelation on Monday night that Ed knowingly let the builder's yard burn down was a great twist, and we particularly enjoyed everything that Dee-Dee added to those scenes at Number 3 too. As for everything else this week - Bethany's secret investigations, Simon getting a job at the Bistro, Moses deciding to go to London - we weren't too fussed about it, but overall, it was a pretty solid week!

In The Kabin, we chat about the new Corrie-endorsed campaign that's been running in the ad breaks this week to raise awareness of all the good work done by the MND Association, and we round off the show with more of your fabulous feedback.

We last profiled Peter Barlow way back in Episode #40 of the podcast, and now here we are, eleven years later, to catch up with what he's been doing in the time since. We take a look at the moments that have shaped him as a character and reminisce on some of his most memorable stories, from his stint as Rovers landlord to his numerous brushes with death and, we're sorry to say, his recent departure. Let's just keep our fingers crossed he'll be setting sail back to Weatherfield at some point in the future, because we've got a feeling his story's not quite over yet!

On our latest episode, we chat about what went on in Weatherfield between the 22nd and the 24th January. Well, not just Weatherfield, actually, thanks to some lovely - but heartbreaking -  scenes shot out on location in Wednesday's episode as Bernie, Paul and Gemma take to the road in a camper van. Now that so many people seem to know about Paul's assisted dying plans, does that mean it's looking more likely that that's the way he's going to go..? Back on the Street, the arrival of bailiffs at the Baileys' sets off a chain of events that leaves Michael in grave danger, whilst a fight between Dylan and Liam leads to the latter being suspended from school. 

Not a whole lot of news to discuss in this week's Kabin segment aside from a Dancing on Ice update and more details about the new Drama Queens series being revealed, and we finish things off with more of your listener feedback.

But is he fooling himself by going back to his wife by the end of Wednesday's episode? Also on the romance front this week, we get to see true love rekindled for Julie and Brian and 100% fake love between Jenny and Dom - or one-sided love at least. Will Jenny rumble him before she parts with her cash, and will Daisy realise that she's being scammed too? Also this week, Betsy and Lauren go for a spin, Dylan asserts his dominance and Debbie panics ahead of her MRI results.

We've had the Conversation Street Awards, the review of the year, and our predictions for 2024, but no January would be complete here on Conversation Street without the Bobbins Awards, a podcast where we take a light hearted look at everything that happened in the past twelve months that.. shall we say.. didn't quite hit the mark. From the forgettable (or just plain irritating!) new characters to story beats that left us scratching our heads or simply groaning in disbelief, you can't beat a bit of cathartic bobbins bashing to bring some closure to the end of the year. Also this week, Lauren dumps her mystery man, Tyrone heads off to Italy and Mason continues to make Liam's life hell.

Not a whole lot of news to discuss in The Kabin this week, but the appearance on Amazon of an interactive novel set on Coronation Street in 1983 has certainly got us intrigued! We round off the show with more of your feedback, including hopefully some good news for the US Corrie watchers out there who haven't been getting any episodes on Hulu lately!

In this week's bonus podcast, we try to find out exactly that, as we make our predictions for Corrie's next twelve months. We're doing things a little bit differently this year, as we spilt the discussion into three parts: first, we discuss what we're praying hard is going to happen on the cobbles; next, we give some quick predictions about what we think actually will happen; then finally we let our creative juices flow and pitch some storylines that we'd green light if we were in the producer's chair. And that chair has been empty since Iain Macleod's promotion, as far as we know..! (Just sayin'!)
